Nice guy, he makes the material very easy to understand. Be ready to do your homework tho, he grades some of it. tests, quizzes are extremely easy, u just have to do the work and u'll have an A.
Not very helpful at all. It seems like all he wants to do is confuse you when it comes time to take a test or quiz. Would not recommend for someone lacking math skills.
He is a very nice guy. if you have questions he tries to help you as much as he can. Be ready to do alot of homework though bc he takes about 1/2 of it up. Tests are sort of challenging but if you study you should do ok.
nice guy. loves math. takes attendence everyday. makes sure everyone understands as long as you ask. occasionally takes up HW. study for tests and quizes. he wants ppl to do well.
I really liked this professor. His test were kind of hard but if you study and do your homework you should do fine. He did take up some homework and took attendence every day. He use to be a high school teacher. I plan to take him again for Stat so I would reccommend him for any math.
really nice guy. Always made sure everyone understood the material. his policy is do the work, get the grade. make sure you do all the homework and you will be fine. i would take him for any future math classes he teaches. he is really nice about his grading policy as well, he really cares about his students
Wow. Not a very good teacher, HAd a bad attitude. Took attendance every day. Tests were very long and he refused to shorten them, even when more than half the class couldn't finish them. I DO NOT reccomend him.
Tests are hard and confusing. Does not do a very good job of explaining the material and neither does the book. I would definitely not take this class if you're not interested in statistics.
Teaches math with a great sense of humor. Very reasonable and open minded.
He is totally awesome. He teaches very well and always explains things throughly. Hes test are easy and he drops your two lowest quiz grades and give you plently of chance to get extra credit. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss less than 3 days he will give you ALOT of extra credit. TAKE HIM I would again!!
AWESOME TEACHER!Best math teacher that I have ever had!Drops lowest quiz grade, doesnt give a ton of hw,& quizzes & tests are VERY fair! He will explain things as many ways and as many times as necessary to make sure that everyone understands the material.ALWAYS willing to help!!!I HATE MATH but this class made it so much better!!!!
great teacher, i'm awful at math, but he makes sure everyone understands before he moves on. i think he's a newer teacher so he's still super excited about teaching. make sure and go to class, he explains exactly what's on the test. drops lowest quiz grade.
Funny Guy
I really thought this class was very easy. Mr. Frankel teaches very well and gives students easy ways to understand the material. Supa easy class.
Best math teacher I've ever had HANDS DOWN. Explains WHY things work a certain way instead of just making you memorize things. Always helpful, will always review anything if you ask. Strongly recommend!!!!
Note I gave the class a medium difficulty because I suck at math. Mr. frankel taught us well, he's easy to understand and cares about his students. Awesome professor.
Frankel is the man!! I was very unsure about statistics when I started out but I found that is was quite easy after frankel taught me the basics. He's always there if your in trouble with your grade. And you can call him if you need his help too. Funny guy and his notes are easy to understand. Take it from me, Take frankel!!
I hate math and I suck at it, but this teacher made it easy to learn and not as boring as I had expected. GREAT teacher whom I totally recommend.
Bottom line...the man! Class was easy and he is an awesome teacher! Funny guy and he is willing to work with you if you need help. Easy grader and easy test if you pay attention in class. Easy A and interesting class. If you don't take him you are missing out!
Frankel was a great math teacher. He taught exactly what was going to be on the tests and quizzes. Do the test/quiz reviews from mathxl because he takes problems from there. He drops lowest quiz score and allows cheat sheet for final. He will always answer any question and make sure everyone understands. Great teacher, If you try you will get an A.
Frankel is by far one of the best teachers at this school. He is very laid back and yet extreamly helpful. I failed the majority of his tests because I am not strong in math, but he gave me a grade he felt was deserving.
He was very helpful and explains things very well. Gives extra credit for attendance! which was nice. Can go to his office and he will help you and tell you what you need to work on. Homework is online. Its also helpful and easy. Take him!
Makes Stats as entertaining as it could be. He also explains the material very well, and makes it easy to understand. Definitely recommended.
If you are not good at math this is not the instructor for you. There is a quiz just about every week so you barely ever get a break. The guy is extremely moody aswell..worst math instructor I ever had!
A lot of Math XL homework along with quizzes. Class was not too bad but it was not easy. Not the greatest professor but I have had worse. Final is cumulative.
PMS, I have never seen a guy more moody then him. He is rude just about every day. If you ask a question prepare to feel stupid, he will make you look like an idiot. Tests and quizzes are pretty hard and there is a good bit of homework. I would not recommend taking him.
I cannot fathom the fact that this guy has such good ratings. The material should have been easy but was not. Tests and Quizzes are pretty hard, I regret taking this guy.
Awesome teacher! He explains things really well and is not rude to anyone. My friend took it with me and had trouble so if your really bad at math try to find an easier teacher. I never got an A in math and I did this semester. You also get to use a note card on the final with any formulas or problems you want on it. 3 tests,6 quizzes, and easy HW.
Decent professor. Explains material in a manner that is clear..the tests are pretty fair, but sometimes he takes of points for minor things. The project was pretty easy and he allows you to use notecards on almost every test/quiz. I would recommend him, but be prepared to put the required amount of work in. Oh...final is cumulative!
He seems nice during the whole semester, but wait until finals are over with.. The work was not that hard, but the way he explains the material can be complicated.. Will not help you at all.. I needed 1 point to pass his class,I only missed 2 days of class, was never disrespectful, but he insisted on not giving the 1 point that I needed..
Decent professor. Explains material in a manner that is clear..the tests are pretty fair, but sometimes he takes off points for minor things. The project was pretty easy and he allows you to use notecards on almost every test/quiz. I would recommend him, but be prepared to put the required amount of work in. Oh...final is cumulative!
Allows note cards for quizzes and tests. Bonus for attendance, but only if you are below an 80. Overall, I enjoyed the class and Frankel is pretty cool. You will need the book because he assigns homework and collects it for grading.
Mr. Frankel will treat the entire class like crap if a few people dont do their homework which sucks because he is really moody. He isnt all that great at explaining material.
Very Moody. Quizzes very easy, tests hard. Would not feel comfortable asking him for help. Regret taking him.
He seems like a great person, however, explaining the material wasn't one of his strong points. He allows you to use notecards for test, but if you're using his examples be prepared to be confused. He teaches as if you've taken the class before. He leaves alot of material out and expects you to fill in the blanks.
A really good prof. attendance not mand. but if you don't go you'll miss out. Write down all his examples from the board. He's very approachable, so ask questions as he'll keep going over concepts until you understand. Would highly recommend.
He is a really funny guy and he knows his stuff. I am really bad at all Math and was going for a D in the class but got B. The only downside is that his examples in class aren't like the HW so it is sometimes frustrating when doing it. But his quiz/test questions are very similar to his class examples
RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN This prof is mean, nasty and obnoxious. He also treats students as if they are plain stupid if you don't naturally get his concepts He even proceeded to ridicule a students question. I love to learn but seeing his attitude it just makes the clasing for another profs unbearable! Would recommend dropping the class/look
GOOD TEACHER. He seemed all tough at first and like he was going to be difficult, but he teaches really well. I got an A in his college algebra class... He's awesome!
OMG DONT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THIS TEACH AT ALL, I WAS NEVER GOOD AT ANY MATH THE HIGHEST GRADE I EVER GOT WAS A D AND ITS ONLY MIDPOINT &I HAVE A B HE'S VERY FUNNY AND MEAN SOMETIMES BUT THAT'S CAUSE OF MY CLASS TALKING BUT U HAVE OPEN BOOK QUIZ'S AND ON THE TEST HE LETS U USE CHEAT CARDS COME TO CLASS HE TAKE ROLE GREAT TEACHER
Mr. Frankel is a very good professor. He explains well in class and is very approachable after class. He wants his students to pass his class. Note cards are OK during quizzes. You have to attend classes to keep up, miss one important one and your toast. Take good notes and follow examples on the board.
I have no idea where anyone can say he is "mean", grow up!This guy is amazing and will help no matter what. I have a hard time understanding math and I have an A in this class. Ignore these negative comments and take his class!!
This professor is a very intelligent about statistics. He is easy to understand if you pay attention. He is also very helpful if you do not understand, just go to his office he will help. In class he goes over same questions if you do not understand and does not get bothered with going over it again. Great teacher, Fun class.
Very smart professor. He takes the time to go over many examples and drills the concepts into your head. Very good at teaching. Taking him for Elem. Stats next semester!
Frankel knows it and conveys the information very well. Normally he'll except answers in decimal, fraction, or anything else unless specified! The catch- come to class everyday or you won't get it! Ex. Credit was for people with perfect attendance but had lower than an 80. However, everyone who had perfect attendance didn't need it!
He is the best math professor I've ever had! He gives great examples on the board, so be sure to take notes and copy what's on the board. He also lets you have notecards for the quizzes, the tests, and the final. There's extra credit for perfect attendance, if your grade is below 80. He drops lowest quiz grade for everyone. I made a B :)
Really good teacher, math isn't really my thing but he made it very understandable - gave clear notes & didn't give unreasonable amounts of HW; pretty nice, kind of funny - class wasn't unbearable to go to; 1 math project that was an easy A; final is cumulative but wasn't bad at all; basically if you study, do the HW, & go to class you'll get an A!
Class was extremely easy & he only tests you on what he teaches you in class. There were never any surprises. He does grade the homework though. However, he is pretty rude & stuck up.
GREAT PROFESSOR! He is very knowledgeable about the material. He only tests you on what he has taught in class, which he explains extremely well. There are really no surprises at all. There is homework, but it's not a lot and it's helpful, so you do need to buy a text book. I am NOT good at math and I have a very firm A.
Not a bad professor. I'm not really a math whiz but i still pulled a decent grade in the class and I'd take him again if i needed to.
Not the easiest class ever. I didn't really put that much effort into my work and I still finished the class with a B.You can use note cards on all the test and your lowest quiz grade is dropped.
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. He takes the time to talk with any student who has any questions. His tests are hard if you don't go to class or pay attention. If you do, then you will do great. The tests come word for word from the homework. Hands down, the best math explainer ever. Definitely take his class again
I took Prof. Frankel Spring 10. I had previously dropped the same stat class the semester before because I couldn't pass the tests so needless to say I was a little nervous entering his class. However, Prof. Frankel is one of the best teachers I have ever had! He is clear, concise, and easy to understand. I left his class with a A+! :)
great teacher! funny and laid back. he breaks down the really tough stuff about statistics and makes it understandable. no overload on work and is very fair. one of my favorite teachers at ksu.
I adored Prof. Frankel and his class. He is hilarious, intelligent, and actually made me enjoy statistics. I had dropped my stat class the semester before because the prof was boring and I wasn't learning anything. I am so glad I did because it gave me the opportunity to take Frankel's class. Im not great at math, but I loved this class!
Awesome professor. I took him in the summer so the class moved very fast. Fair. Clear. He is great to explain things and practice them with you.
Prof. Frankel is great. He is very clear and very kind. He works with students not only in the classroom but is willing to work one on one. Helps students get through difficult sections and is fair when it comes to grading. Overall a delightful professor to have, especially for math.
Frankel is the Best professor on campus!! Really funny too
Amazing!!!! I have always had difficulty with Stats but he makes everything extremely clear and easy to understand. One of the best math techers I have ever had!!
GREAT Professor! Willing to offer help before or after class which was extremely helpful for me. Very clear in explaining stats. I highly recommend him!! Great personality too! Nice guy!!!
Not a good professor. I liked him at first because he's funny. He's alright at explaining things, with math you can't get away with being "alright" at explaining things. There were some clarity issues. If you ask a question that he thinks is obvious, he'll treat you like youre stupid. And the material he covers in class doesn't match the book.
I've only had Mr. Frankel for 2 days and LOVE his class. He explains things in a way for you to understand the first time. I took V. Watson last semester and dropped her class because she was too confusing. I recommend Frankel!
Great lecturer, great class! However, Mr.Frankel will always make a pot-sized bet with top pair on the flop, but will fold to a reraise. This is a very exploitable leak in his game and should be corrected post-haste!
Great teacher. Class is super easy if you just pay attention. Definitely take him.
Professor Frankel is the best math teacher I have ever had. He simplifies the material and is very helpful when explaining things. He is very funny too. If math is not your thing, you should take his class because he will make it understandable!
This man knows how to teach!! Very fun class to attend. If you go and listen you will not struggle. Very willing to answer questions and explain further. I can't say enough about this teacher.
I enjoy his class a lot- very good and funny teacher.Try don't miss any class, cause all his tests from the notes.
very helpful and very funny! He's an extremely nice person and very fair. I have recommended his class to all of my friends who have to take statistics. He makes a class that is known for being boring really entertaining. TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU CAN! (Oh and it's totally possible to get an A in this class!)
Mr. Frankel is a GREAT teacher. Very helpful and professional - he will reply to your emails if you have questions or need clarification. He truly is gifted in teaching. I do recommend that you attend every class - class notes really help for quizzes and tests. Take him, you won't regret it!
He's a great professor, just go to class ( you get extra credit just for perfect attendance) test are straight foward with his notes. Very clear and provide shortcuts that are sweet... Take him you'll get a B or better
Could teach Trig to an 8 year old in a 3rd world country with no background in math. He's amazing.
Awesome teacher! I had him for trig and he makes it as easy as possible. Just pay attention and do all the work and you will do great. He makes it clear what material will be on quizzes and tests. Definitely my favorite teacher. Try to get him!
Homework was mandatory through mymathlab and the quizes where easy because he gives you old quizes to practice. That way you'll know whats on the quiz and not be shocked when you get it. If you study the quizes, you'll do fine on the tests and final. I would take him again, if his other classes were like trig.
Very clear and entertaining. Tests are replicas of the quizzes so as long as you do the homework then you will get a good grade.
He is good at explaining the material and really helps you get prepared for quizzes and tests. He doesn't put anything you've never seen before on them. Participate in class, he gets mad if the class doesn't answer back. He can be funny though. I'd recommend him.
Mr. Frankel knows trigonometry well. He makes extensive use of the board rather than the typical powerpoint notes. This has been very helpful.
Most people conside Trig to be a somewhat hard course but Mr. Frankel does a great job instructing and explaining the topics. His grading is fair and the tests are easy if you do some studying and make a good note sheet.
Dr. Frankel is the best math teacher I have ever encountered. If you are a non math major and hate the subject he is the man for you. He keeps it simple and to the point! He is extremely helpful and very kind, I highly recommend him!
I found his tests to be hard and have very little to do with what he would go over in class. He's not a bad teacher, but not a great one. If you can find someone better, then do it.
He's GREAT! I hate math and am awful at it, but he helped me out so much. I didn't even have to ask. He'll round up your grade if it's close and help out anyway he can. I didn't get his sense of humor all of the time, but he is a nice guy. He made me not hate math as much as I did before. Take him if you hate math!!!!
Great teacher! He is very nice and as helpful as they come. There is no reason anyone shouldn't get at least a B in his class!
Such an amazing Professor! He could teach Statistics to anyone! I really hope I get the opportunity to take him again someday. Amazing!
He is a GREAT teacher! Class is not mandatory but i would highly recommend going to each class b/c all the material on the tests & quizzes comes straight from notes and problems worked in class. Try to get him! You won't regret it.
Nice enough, somewhat strange sense of humor and a little quirky. He teaches very well and what I find to be very slowly. I found the class to be a little TOO slow for my liking. Overall, if you struggle with math this is a good class for you. Quizzes are usually just problems that he has done on the board.
Had Mr. Frankel for trig my freshman year. I took trig senior year of high school so I was pretty good at the course work. He's a weird guy with a weird sense of humor but you can't help but to laugh. He loves helping and his quizzes are problems from the board. If you try, he recognizes that and is sympathetic. TAKE HIS CLASS
Awesome Professor! He wants his students to succeed. He's very helpful. All homework is on mymathlab. He gave us a take home test once, and you can use a notecard on almost all his tests! He does get a little upset when students don't respond to his questions, but overall he's a funny guy.Take him!
Frankel is a great professor. I had prior experience with Trigonometry during my senior year in high school, which may have made my semester easier. However he's extremely clear & willing to answer ANY question. Completely corny, but really nice guy. I recommend him to everyone in need of this course. Cheatsheet for EVERY test, extra credit opps.
Very helpful and very funny. Trig is very easy but he made it even easier. Explains everything and tests are not that hard. If you like to understand math you should definitely take him.
I am a family man with kids, back in school after being out for over 20 years. I have not had Math in decades. I was nervous about this class. This class is an A if you are willing to work a bit. I learned a lot and enjoyed it. Take this guy!!!
Take him! He is very clear and goes slow enough for everyone to catch on. Attendance is only for extra credit, not req. Posts practice tests as study guides and tells you exactly what will be on quizzes and tests. One group project at the end. Doesn't respond to emails but is helpful in class.
If you are not good at math but have to take Statistics- TAKE HIM! He tells you whats on the quizzes and lets you use a notecard on tests. He explains every detail clearly. Really nice guy!!!
Wonderful professor! Very clear and explains everything. Study guides are exactly like the test and he lets you use notecards.
Professor Frankel is without a doubt the best instructor I have had at KSU in the 2.5 years I have been there. He is knowledgeable, helpful and clear. He goes out of his way to answer questions and ensure his students understand the material. I will take him for every class I can!
Frankel is a great teacher whether you like statistics or not. He is funny and offers chances to make an A. He gives study guides that mirror the test!! One of the best teachers I have had at KSU.
Professor Frankel is very helpful! Even though I learned trig in high school, this class never felt like a waste of time. He makes sure you get it & lets you use a note card on every test (so far) and goes out of his way to let you know exactly what to study. You'll know what's expected of you. HW is on MML and you get unlimited attempts. Take him!
Frankel is awesome! One of my favorites so far. He makes his lessons clear and will crack a few jokes to lighten the mood :) He lets you know the gist of what will be on the tests and he lets you use a notecard on all of them. We had review days before every test. I could tell from the start that he wants everyone to do well in his class. Take him!
Can't say anything negative! Incredibly helpful lectures, and I definitely feel prepared to take Methods I now. Hopefully I'll be able to take him again....
TAKE HIM! You can miss a bunch of classes without it harming your grade but you might want to go, as the homeworks and project are hard if you don't know what you're doing. 6 online quizzes with multiple attempts. 2 big homeworks. 1 big project. No in class assignments. No book. Just go to class, take good notes, and start your assignments early!
Frankel is a great professor that lets you know exactly what is expected. He is very helpful to the people that are slower to catch on. He gives you days in class to work on the homeworks. The late policy is very strict in the class, make sure to start the homeworks well in advance. I feel prepared to take the more advanced STAT courses.
Great Professor.
Prof. Frankel is the best. I knew nothing of STAT before him, but got a 99 in the class. Pay attention to his examples & wording-its different from connectmath hw...hw is helpful to learn the steps though. Great teacher-easy A if you study and pay attention!!
He was one of the best professor's I've ever had. You got extra credit just for going to class and he really helps you to understand. He is extremely helpful. I made a 100 in the class and I had never taken stats before.
Frankel is the kind of professor who believes there is such a thing as a stupid question. He has good lectures & tries to make coding as fun as possible, but I was always afraid to ask questions in class. He would sometimes give other students an attitude or look at them like they're stupid. Other than that, I genuinely enjoyed this nerdy class!
One of the best professors I have had at Kennesaw State. You will learn, it will not be miserable and you will end the semester satisfied.
He is a great, funny teacher. He wants to help you succeed and to get the right answer. He wants you to be interested in Statistics. This class is interesting to an extent, but he makes it easier to be interested. I've seen him be short with a few students who ask dumb questions, but they could have just listened to his lecture better.
Prof Frankel is an awesome teacher! He genuinely seems like he cares that the students are learning and understanding the material. I was one of the students that asked a question that he had been repeating so he was a bit frustrated with me but at the end of the day HE IS AMAZING! Just listen, take notes, do the homework and you'll get an A!
There are no tests in his class but you will have 6 quizzes online, 2 HW assignments worth 25% of your grade each and a major final project worth 35% of your grade. He takes FOREVER to grade hw assignments so you better no what your doing. Don't be afraid to ask questions, but he can be arrogant and rude when you do. Be prepared to teach yourself.
Prof Frankel made accounting fun and understandable. I did not know that would be possible. His teaching style made evening courses go by quickly. His class is requirement and he made it possible for non accounting folks to learn something and understand the material. His PPT are funny as hell and his lectures are interesting. Would take him again!
I took professor Frankel in the summer (8-week summer session). This was my first time taking a summer class and my first time taking a statistics class. I LOVED this class! The class was interesting, went by fast, and easy (as long as you do your homework). He helps you as much as he can to help you succeed. I'm taking him again for sure!
This instructor is patient and good at explaining concepts in class. He gives you every chance to be successful (like extra credit on exams, extra points for perfect attendance, dropping lowest quiz grade.) But his exams are more difficult than you would expect even with "cheat sheets" allowed. Also, he WILL NOT answer emails so don't even bother.
Prof. Frankel knows his stuff and doesn't make this class much harder than it needs to be. Quizzes and 3 pretty intense projects. The problem is, he is super rude to students. He'll talk to you like you are stupid and then not understand why people don't want to be in this class. Not hard to get a decent grade but he isn't the most pleasant...
Frankel is a wonderful professor but he is certainly not the most welcoming professors at KSU. He is sassy towards students and clearly picks favorites, but he KNOWS what he is doing. YOU as the student just need to put in the effort and you will succeed. My advice: work progressively on all of the three projects and don't slack off.
I'm a math major. Frankel is not a tough grader, he is an absurd grader. 1st day bragged about how only one student has made a 100 on his assignments in 6 years; that basically sums him up. You're graded on quizzes (15%) 2 HWs (50%) and final project (35%) so his tough grading makes this a gpa bomb. avoid if possible
Can't believe he has over a 2 on here. he was pretty rude and unhelpful. he graded as if we were professional statisticians or Ph.D. candidates. team up with someone early in the semester is my only advice. this class was not a good experience for me, I dropped the statistics minor because I didn't want to take another class with him
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! He is an awful professor, plain and simple. He is rude, judgemental, and prejudiced. He thinks he is the best there has ever been, and doesnt respond to emails hardly, and when he does they are curt and not helpful. Should have reported him to the dean when he screwed me over on my final.
Bizarre grader. brags about deductions often... it's strange. I would not take again
I could not make over a 75 on any project. he is obnoxiously particular; take someone else.
I'm from NYC just like he is but i can def see why some ppl find him rude, but i would ask questions after class and just let him get his lecture out of the way- i think thats why he comes off as irritated. but this class was pretty difficult hes a nitpick grader which is annoying but it's just one of those classes you're glad when it's over
I dont like rating profs... but this class was bad... it is a hard class but the problem is he makes you feel so dumb for asking him anything... I have seen him treat others pretty badly and avoided asking qs... then when I finally did he yelled in my face... You will learn but I for sure dont want to run into him again...
you get 8 chances to miss class before it affects your grade. don't use them!!!!!!!! you need to know something about computers and coding. hes really funny! hes from new york so comes off as an ass but he really cares about his students and is always joking. honestly a great teacher i just didn't try so i got C's but anyone could pass his class!
The two takeaways going into this course you should know is this: the professor is very helpful, and you will be graded strictly. So start your projects very early, so that you can get as much feedback from the professor as possible.
Entire semester is 3 projects and 6 online quizzes. Online quizzes are easy 100's and are 15% of grade. First 2 projects are 25% of your grade EACH and the final project is 35% of your grade. The ONLY reason that I made a B is because I was lazy and messsd up the 2nd project. Very busy/tedious work, but NOT hard.
Incredibly harsh grader (takes points off for grammar in a stat class), BUT if you follow the rubrics and do what he says, there's no reason you should make anything below like 80 or 85 on the projects. He will not only show you the codes in class, but he emails them to you too. All you gotta do is copy and paste them. Very funny and easy.
Super cool guy, but very harsh grader. If you spell something wrong, points off. Treats you like a real statistician, and the projects are a lot of work/writing. Start them AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, because any issue you have, he WILL help. Lots of work in this class, but it's pretty much an A or B if you do as he says. Oh, and he's very sarcastic.
I didnt like him at the time I took his class, but if you plan to take upper level stats classes he will prepare you well. Im glad I took him now
I don't understand the hate this man gets. The only grades the whole semester are online open note quizzes and 3 projects, which seems daunting. For the projects though, he shows you the codes in class on what you need to run for each question and then emails the code. You literally just need to copy and past the codes to do the projects, that's it
If you put the work in, you will do well. However, this guy thinks he is so funny and repeats himself nearly everyday. Rambles on about material that you don't need to know for his quizzes and tests. Takes attendance every class for a chance for extra credit at the end. Online homework is very time consuming.
I don't know how he is in other classes, but for Stat 3010 he's the man. His class was literally the reason I decided to do the applied stats minor. He's really a nice guy and VERY helpful. VERY picky grader though. He'll take points off for grammar and misspellings, but in the real world, you have to be careful anyways. No way you can fail.
This professor knows his work, so hes great at teaching the material so the whole class can understand it. 8 Quizzes and 4 Test plus the Final. 4 Lessons of hw before each test and counts as a big part of your final grade. All of his test are exactly like the practice test he provides for you prior to. heads up: USE THE NOTECARD TO UR ADVANTAGE
Amazing teacher. Quizzes are just like the work done in class & tests are made up of those quizzes. Very easy to follow & allows notecards for tests! if you have to take STATS take him!!!
Statistics can be hard but if you have to take it take this professor!! He's very fair and clear. Lecture is directly related to quizzes and tests are just like the quizzes no surprise on any test. He allows notecards for test. As long as you show up to class you will be fine.
Professor Frankel is a great stat professor. He really knows his stuff. He sometimes gets off topic but he's a good teacher. There are 5 exams including the final. The material overall is kind of difficult but if you come to class, take notes, and do the homework before the test you should be fine.
I absolutely LOVED this class! Professor Frankel is one of the best professors I have ever had! The class consists of online homework, 2-3 quizzes each chapter, 4 tests, and a final. Do your part and study, and you've got an A! You have got to take Stats 1107 with Professor Frankel! It was SO FUN!
If you've never taken Statistics before, THIS IS THE GUY YOU WANT! Professor Frankel is awesome. He genuinely cares about your well-being, and he will work with you if you put in the effort in his class. He will tell you all the ins and outs if interested. Graded by Four Tests, 8 Quizzes (Lowest Dropped), 20 HW Assignments, and the Final.
Dr. Frankel is the best. His New York accent and loud voice make it sound like hes mad sometimes but hes not. He is willing to help you as much as you are willing to put in the work. Make sure you start all homeworks/projects early and youll do great. Highly recommend
One of the best profs Ive ever had. Homework is online, but you have unlimited tries to get the questions right w/o penalty. He explains the material in a way that any student can understand and the study guides are exactly like the test. Hwk, 4 tests, 8 quizzes (lowest dropped), & random extra credit opportunities. Honestly, anyone can make an A.
The class is not hard if you study. I particularly am not good at math, but Professor Frankel made it understandable. If you go to class and pay attention, you will do fine. There's a decent amount of homework, but it helps with tests and quizzes.
Attendance is taken and you are allowed 6 absences. Class goes by fast but he can be rude when answering your question and does not understand students are not all Stat majors. People were scared to ask questions in class. Grades extremely rough. Will take off points if your code is missing a capital letter, but a do-able class. 2 HWs, 1 Project
Frankel is a terrifying professor. He teaches the material well but if you have any question he makes you feel stupid so you never want to ask another question again. The material itself is hard but he knows what he's doing and if you pay attention closely enough it shouldn't be too hard. Just dont ask any questions.
Frankel was an awesome prof. 4 tests, easy quizzes, easy final. Only thing I can say is the homework was kind of annoying, but you can always make a 100 if you try. He lets you bring index cards for the test and final. Great man. Loves sports. Thought about minoring in STATS because of him. Great dude.
favorite class tbh. im not a math wizard but he made math enjoyable and understandable. definitely need to study for the quizzes, they arent hard just make sure you know how to do everything. he tells you whats really important and what not for the test/quizzes. homework isnt too bad just time-consuming.
He was really good but his voice is loud lol. He gave up to 15 free absences and he posted work we did on D2L but I'd still go to class because it makes it a lot easier. We had a few online homeworks for each unit and about 4 tests including the final, but that's it. He will help you if you ask so don't be shy! And DON'T get someone to sign you in!
I have never been a math person, but he made this class fun and he did an awesome job at explaining the topics. You should definitely take him for a Stat class if you can I promise you won't regret it
You definitely need to go to class. His lecture style was a little hard for me, but i'm sure to others it wasn't too bad. I gave him a 4 for difficulty, but there's definitely people out there who'd give a 2. Make sure you take good, understandable notes! Write everything down even if you think you'll remember, and you'll be good.
Explains all the procedures clearly and emails the code. No tests, just online quizzes and 3 big homework projects each worth 25% of your grade. Holds "lab days" to work on homework in class, looks it over if you complete it before it's due. Teaches differently than the manual so go to class and follow his instructions, it's easy to do well.
Really good math teacher but not very lenient or understanding ab certain things. Attendance is mandatory and tests are not too hard because he shows you how to do the same styles of problems in class. lectures can get kind of boring but you have to pay attention or you'll get lost.
Professor Frankel is a great professor. His grading criteria is clear and he tells you what you have to do to succeed. Show up to class, follow along with the coding, and go see him in his office to look at your homework. If you listen to what he says, you should get an easy A. I ended with over a 100 with very little stress about the class.
If you didn't understand stats before, you will now. This class is easy or manageable because he teaches well. Just take good notes, do the homework, and do the study guides. He has some attendance rules and honestly, I wasn't too mad about it because you'll see that if you miss one lecture, you'll be lost.
This was an easy A for me. He knew how to break it down for us. homework was very helpful i used it to study for the quiz or test. on tests you can use a notecard. tests were very straight forward and just like the homework.
Best professor I've had at KSU. Go to class and take notes. The examples he creates in class are the exact type of problems on tests and quizzes. If you have a 95+ going into the final, you can exempt it. Drops lowest quiz grade and replaces lowest test grade with final (assuming final was higher). Allows notecard cheat sheet for tests. TAKE HIM!!!
This is a blend of a stat methods and programming class. Learning the code does not take long as it is covered well in class. You are given the material and only required to think logically.
Frankel is super awkward and funny, always makes his lectures entertaining and interesting. The material is somewhat difficult and confusing, but Frankel's lectures always make sense and help. He also gives extra credit and is understanding when it comes to grades. I took this as an honors course and there was an extra project, but nothing too bad!
Professor Frankel is a likable teacher with clear grading criteria. HW, tests, and quizzes are done on ConnectMath. Each test requires a notecard of unit-related formulas etc. Although he was enjoyable, I lost respect for him when he yelled at our class because he forgot to mention the notecard to us and was angry that nobody sent one to him.
Professor Frankel is a good teacher and he explains things well, however he can come off rude sometimes. I didn't think this class required too much work, plus he gives several extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. I would take this class if you think you can get past his poor attitude.
His lectures helped a ton when trying to figure out homework problems. Was overall a pretty easy class just have to stay on top of homework.
Honestly Easy A! I made a 100 in the class and got to exempt the final. Hes chill and is clear about what is on the tests (do the homework!). Attendance is mandatory. He posted all his lectures if you wanted to rewatch them. No study guides but do homework. Notecards for test. 20 homework, 8 quizzes, 3 tests, final. Offers extra credit too.
Clear expectations and loves his field. Great personality and teaching style (really explains how equations are what they are and makes concepts easier to understand). Absolutely hilarious! A lot of opportunities to get your grade up. Has lab days where you can just work on the projects/study. DO THE HOMEWORK. (Hw matches the quiz and tests).
I loved Professor Frankel! He gives a good amount of homework but you get multiple attempts until you get the grade you want and he gives you a lengthy amount of time to complete the work! He also gives quizzes and exams but he holds review days to go over any questions that anyone may have. He's really understanding and wants everyone to pass!
Professor Frankel is super funny during his lectures and clearly teaches the material. He really cares about what he does and wants all of his students to pass. There is a lot of homework, but I promise you, doing the homework is a huge help in order to pass any quiz or test. Take him if you can.
Statistics/math is NOT my thing... Frankel made the class enjoyable, and while I still had to work to understand the content, I somehow made an A in a class I surely thought I'd struggle to get a B in. He genuinely cares about his students and has 0 interest in watching them struggle. You get notecards to use on all the tests/final exam. TAKE HIM
Professor Frankel's class was one of my best experiences at KSU. His lectures are very organized and D2L is filled with resources, so he provides you with EVERYTHING you need to know. As long as you do ALEKS and ask questions, you'll do well in his class.
Definitely take him for STAT 1401 and STAT 3010, I took him for both and it wasn't difficult. 3010 is project heavy (3 in different coding languages), find some people in your class and work on it together, he encourages it. He gives you all the code you need. Quizzes are easy, he tells you to use google and you can take them many times. no tests.
I thought I was doing well in his class but had a C at the end. This could be my fault because I had covid & other things going on during the semester. He worked with me to catch up on all assignments i missed due to covid. his classes arent boring & actually help if you pay attention. The class is pretty passable and all work is on ALEKS.
Be careful, all homework assignments are due in bulk once every month or so before a test. They are all open way in advance tho. He gives tons of partial credit on tests so your B can go to an A very quickly. Nothing is very difficult and if you go to class and learn the homework then its an easy A. Wonderful guy and great professor.
He really wants all of his students to pass the class and work hard so he does various things that seem kind of extra but it's because he really cares about the class and wants you to succeed. There is a lot of graded opportunities and they are all made so that high grades are achievable (I'm just kinda lazy).
I had him for a 8-week summer course. Go to class because he tells you exactly what type of questions are going to be on the exams. He only excuses 3 absences until he removes points from your final grade. He made notes while he taught which helped so much when I had to look back and study. He also allowed us to use one-sided notecard on each exam!
Highly Recommend. Took his Stat 1401 class over the summer. I am awful at math but he made it feel accessible and as easy as possible. Never made me feel bad for asking questions, really cares about his students success. Take him if you can!
One of my only professors who take their time and teach well.
This professor takes the time to encourage questions and actually answers them until someone understands the material. He really care about his students and wants them to pass. grades consist of homework, quizzes, and tests that are on alecs, which he allows a whole sheet of paper on each test. TAKE HIM!!
Class is pretty easy. Professor was great at the start but got very moody. Only graded on homework, which can be a lot, tests and quizzes. He gets mad and yells when your class does not participate in boring lectures. Lowkey has a god complex. Can be difficult to work with but the class itself is super easy.
One of the coolest professors I've had. Explains the concepts very well and the class was super simple. Quizzes were open note and tests allowed one side of a paper for notes. Loved cracking jokes and highly encourages class participation, even when the class doesn't feel like participating. TAKE HIM!
Test online at home. Finale in person. Quizzes at home. Take him. Its not an easy A as the final weighs alot so if you cheat yourself you wont get an A but if you genually try you will make an A. if you want an easy grade and dont care about As he is your guy. TAKE HIM TAKE HIM.
Frankel teaches the best kind of class: If you fail, you know it was your fault. That being said, it is hard to fail this class. The material he teaches is concise, comprehensible, and he will pause his lesson to review anything you don't get. He manually reviews every quiz and will give credit for silly errors made. Witty, friendly, and helpful.
The best teacher I have ever had. He makes everything so easy to understand and makes jokes in class to try and make the class more enjoyable. Make sure that you go to class, especially when he says that he is not counting attendance, it will help you in the long run trust me.
I was worried about taking an honors class and I knew nothing about stats. Frankel is by far the best professor I have had. He answers all questions but be ready for him to make it an example for the class. The homework, quizzes, & tests are all on ALEKS. He will MAKE sure you know what you are doing. Lots of examples & note card for each test.
Prof. Frankel was one of the best math professors I have ever had. His teaching style is very straightforward, and he makes expectations clear 100% of the time. He is down-to-earth and funny and will always take the time to answer any questions you have. He is also incredibly accommodating, understanding, and just a good person overall. Take him!
Good Professor, he explains things clearly. All of the homeworks are the quizzes and then the quizzes are the tests.
Prof. Frankel was awesome! He is a down to earth guy and gladly answers any questions you have. He also makes sure you know what is really important so you don't miss it. I also liked how he provided realistic scenarios. The way he transitions and presents his talking points enhanced my engagement during the lectures! Would definitely recommend!
Professor Frankel is an engaging instructor who makes the material approachable. The class format, with open-note quizzes and tests, along with the availability of helpful study tools like Unstuck study, creates a supportive learning environment. Definitely take this class if you have the chance!
No exams! Quizzes online are open book. If you turn in homework early, you don't have to attend class on lab days. Otherwise, mandatory attendance. Laugh at his jokes, people! Follow homework instructions carefully and triple check. Basically just copying and pasting his code and adding your dataset info, but make sure you use the correct code.
Genuinely a good professor that cares for his students academic success. The course is very assignment heavy on a weekly basis, so get a routine down and stick to it. The professor offers extra help and even provides class time to review any important material you may be struggling with before any major assignment.
Will give you a hard time for no reason. Tests have webcams and there's 12 questions normally but majority of the questions have multiple parts. Good luck!
There should be NO way anyone can fail this class. If you do, that's a problem!!! Overall, he is an Amazing professor. All tests and quizzes are open notes. The final is in-person, so study before taking it. Honestly, it's an easy A if you do the work and put in the effort. I would highly recommend taking this professor. TAKE HIM!!
Amazing professor. Took him as a summer class and the way he lecture was easy to comprehend and also he types out his lectures on a word document and there were so help during home work and quizzes. I would definitely take him again.
If I could take every single one of my classes with him, I would. Best professor I've ever had. Lets you use notes on exams, not a tough grader, exams are fair, a good amount of homework, but it's always helpful, respects his students and their time, very clear about expectations and due dates. God, I miss this class....
Amazing stats prof lets you use notes on exams but the finals in person.
This class was very easy and the assignments were homework on Pearson and labs/projects. He does lab days where you can work on them in class, but you never know what day lecture or lab day is. Gives good feedback and is willing to help with assignments. Makes passive aggressive or condescending remarks sometimes though.
This class was very easy but I swear he spoke to us like we were dumb. He made condescending comments when everybody in our class needed help. If you can get past that, take this class. If the instructions aren't clear he provides YouTube tutorials on labs. but he does not leave specific feedback.
the worst professors I have ever had, very condescending, clearly smart but does not know how to teach, EXTREMELY harsh grader, gives instructions that don't make sense unless you already know how to do the material. please please please do not take this class if you're looking for an A or B.
Professor Frankel makes it easy to get an A as long as you follow the guided videos and do the work on time. He clearly loves what he teaches and is very knowledgeable. He does take attendance which is annoying- some days you come to class and he doesn't teach it's just free time to work on labs/projects. but overall would recommend
Condescending, and does not like to help. Double and triple check your work and internet connection before submitting because he will not allow resubmissions. Feedback is not constructive. The course itself is easy but if you need extra help find someone else.
Participation does not make sense to me. He talks about things that had nothing to do with the work overall, you're literally watching another instructor on youtube show, what to do for labs he's not actually teaching. Emailing him does not help. He's very blunt and nonchalant with his responses on extra help. The professor is a little tough!
My grade is what it is because of “attendance “ … Class easy, Professor is not so easy!
