This guy is cool, not hard at all. He is a piece of cake. Just read his notes carefully and you will ace the test.

This class was fun, and easy. Only 2 hwmk assignments (which i got a 50 on each) 2 tests and final were simple. Just copy the notes, dont bother buying the book. I didnt even open it. So much extra credit you wont know what to do with it:) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

He gives clear notes & tells corny jokes which help 2 get thru the class. There is a chance you will fall asleep. Answers pretty much ne ?'s about bio, tests weren't 2 bad. He's a nice guy. No need 2 buy the book, used only 4 reading. His notes offer better help.

The class is a difficult class, but Dr.Franklin is the man yo take for this class. No need to buy the book, his lectures cover most of the material and you can get the study guide material not covered online. Many oppurtunities to get extra credit. Take my word and take him for this class!

Yes this class is boring, but most have to take it. He is a very easy and excellent professor if you are looking forward to getting and A or B in the class. His exams are straight forward and to the point and tie in with his overhead lecture notes.Also he gives plenty of extra credit points on exam, assignments, and just for showing up for class!

Pay attention to lectures and take notes because all tests come STRAIGHT from lectures which is great if you go to class. He is a nice guy and will answer ANY question you have, never makes you feel dumb. Also gives extra credit, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! Go over your notes a little each day and you will succeed without question.

Alright... BIO 325 is not the most interesting class, and Franklin is not he most interesting guy... a surprisingly dry sense of humor. Don't even worry about exam grades, just make sure to do the extra credit.

Dr. Franklin is by far the best teacher in the biology department at CSUN. He answers all your questions and makes the material easy to understand. Take good notes because his exams are based on them.

Dr. Franklin is an excellent professor who is clear and articulate. He makes the subject matter more interesting than it really is & provides a comfortable learning environment. Getting a good grade is not difficult & the test material is covered in lecture. Tests easy & fair (multiple choice). A is almost guaranteed with a bit of effort & study.

Great professor who is really dedicated to passing on his knowldege...has a good sense of humor...one actually learns the hard & complicated material; tests are based on notes and quizes...study his notes and you'll do fine...might even get an A as I did!!! He is a very excellent professor and is higly recommended. He provides students with many ways to earn points and gives extra credit assignments. He si very good for lower division or 300 level courses but for the field studies classes its a lot more work involved and is not quite as easy and one expects..so be ready!

Franklin is a good teacher. You haveto study for the exams bc they are tricky. He also randomly gets an attitude with you if you ask a question over something he went over.

Great professor. Keeps it interesting all the time. He knows how to present the material and exams are easy if you study. They can be tricky, but only if you dont study. Trust me, if you study, you will pass. But if you dont, you wont. Study his notes, go over definitions, and do his study guide, and that is all there is to it. Bam, you got your A.

Decent professor. Lectures are interesting but you unfortunately have to deal with his horrible jokes. Tests are tricky but he gives xtra credit. He is a hard grader in the end though, even with all the extra credit. Really cares about his topic but has an attitude if he doesnt like you.

There is good and bad about his class, but for 322 you cant get a better teacher. Lots of extra credit and he's extremely fair and helpful. The tests are a bit tricky, but he expects you to have a good understanding of the lecture material instead of just memorizing words to regurgitate. I liked his class, enjoyed his teaching, and got an easy A.

Dr franklin is a professor that anyone could dream of having him. He is very clear, helpful, understanding and nice. Obviously you should study for his classes but if you put some effort and do all his extra credits you will get an A. Try some other Bio teachers and then appreciate him. He is not easy but he is extremely fair. Highly recommended!!

Dr. Franklin is a great professor! He has a wonderful way of explaining concepts and is very helpful. There's 3 homework assignments, 3 tests and a final, and some extra credit. GREAT OVERALL!!! His tests are multiple choice and are EXACTLY what is in his lectures! NO TRICKS! A MUST IF U R A BIO MAJOR.

Dr. Franklin is a great professor, I realllly recommend him. Take good notes and your set for tests and quizes, their are no tricky questions. He also offers quite a bit of extra credit just in case you really need it. He's awesome!!!

Cool guy, good teacher. Makes marine biology fun and interesting. Not a hard class but some effort is required. You'll learn a lot if you just go to class. I took the online/hybrid class and there's just one report due per week. Everything you need is from lectures and the book. Take good notes for the notebook you turn in. Lots of extra credit.

Great professor, great guy. His tests are based HEAVILY on his notes so GO TO CLASS. The book is there if you're fuzzy on anything but I would rather e-mail him or go to his office hours.

Great Professor. Although text is required but dont worry about it, just study his notes. I found Lab much harder than lecture, its a lot of memorization but make notecards and go through them everyday. Franklin is very helpful and tries to really help you even if you are doing bad in the class he always finds a way for you to make it up.

This class was online. Over all it was easy, if you read the lecture notes you will be fine. Gives a lot of extra credit. No reason not to get an A in this class. He likes a lot of detail in your papers.

Dr. Franklin is chill! He's a real cool professor, he's funny! and he's even funnier when he makes a weird joke and cracks himself up LOL .. lotsa extra credit opportunities. His test are easy if you study but his questions are tricky, SO BEWARE!

His class wasn't hard at all; if you go every class you can earn an A. General concepts oriented. His lectures reflects 100% of what will be on tests. He'll answer all questions w/out making ppl feel dumb. I don't know why he made the class so easy, maybe he's just being an oasis in the desert? A good guy overall.

This guy is awesome! Extremely helpful and all of his tests are entirely based on his lectures. I learned so much in his class and he makes a lame joke once in a while but he is a cool guy. Gives PLENTY of extra credit for simple things. I highly recommend him. Take him, attend class, do extra credit and you will get an A.

Excellent teacher. He would clearly answer questions, both in person and in email, he was crystal clear in his lectures, he cared about his students, and if he made a mistake he made sure he corrected it. He'd tell jokes every class, too. O, and when you first meet him, tell him how much you love starfish and jellyfish. He'll love you for it.

Internet course, so no exams but many papers due throughout semester. He is a fair grader and the work is easy, but it was unfortunately not the most interesting Marine Biology class since all you do is type papers at home.

Best professor for bio 106 class. He is very helpful and his notes are very clear. His exams are easy and you just need to review the notes. The book is rarely used. He gives plenty of extra credit that if done can boost 1+ letter grade. I would highly recommend him.

Do not buy the text book. He even tells you that. Take him if you want an easy A, but I wouldn't recommend him if you are a bio major. He seems to really dumb down the class. If you go to class, take notes, and study them you should have an A with no problem at all. He has assignments but they take a few minutes to finish. EASY!

I love this professor. I was really lucky to get him for Bio. The class is huge so attendance is not mandatory. Everything is based on notes. I didn't buy no textbook. He told us there was a textbook but he was cool with me not having one. He's a chill professor. He is funny too. His test are based on notes and lectures. I got an A in his class! (=

Absolutely No complains about grades, but it is professor's duty to generate new question sets every semester. Students who had previous semesters' exams had pretty much everything and got 100%. Exams should be based on logical understanding,not on memorization of questions. May be that's how it works in Biology department. It's Biology after all!

He is the Best ! Take very very good notes and study them and you will get an awesome grade in the class :D

SO funny. I took his class at 8 am on a Fri and he managed to do the impossible: have me coming to class every week AND paying attention. I got an A with little studying in comparison to bio 106L. He's a great teacher though and entertaining (which is Y i didn't need to study outside of class). TAKE HIM

Class consisted mainly of taking notes. Study notes & you'll get A's on all quizzes/tests. 2 midterms, mini research paper, & the final. Bought the book & didn't use at all. Offers extra credit. Dr. Franklin's class may be boring at times, but he cracks jokes to make it bearable. Easy A, highly recommend.

Dr. Franklin is a really nice guy. I took his online BIO 325L class over the summer and could not have been happier with my choice. He made everything really fun and interesting. Everything he expects out of his students is reasonable. I highly recommend taking his class. Really responsive and funny guy who knows his stuff!

Franklin's class is like taking biology with a stand-up comedian! He is such a hilarious guy, he makes jokes about every minute, and really makes biology fun. His tests are not difficult at all if you study his notes. It is however, easy to slack off in his class since his lessons are sort of all over the place. He gives a ton of extra credit!!

Personable, like-able, and very easy. The text book is not necessary! Plenty of "free" extra credit on every exam.

TAKE HIM!!! He's so funny and makes lectures interesting, gives a lot of extra credit so there's some cushion for your grade, and textbook isn't necessary to pass. The only boring/hard part for me in this class was the genetics section. Took the lab at the same time, it helped.

Dr. Franklin is the BEST! He's hilarious, which keeps lecture from getting boring, along with his awesome stories and obvious passion for what he teaches. He's the nicest professor you'll ever meet, more than fair with exams (tons of EC)and cares about his students. I'd take Marine Bio with him again if I could!

Nice, funny guy. Class is super easy all you have to do is take notes and study them. Lots of extra credit. About 5 exams but all multi choice (cumulative). 3 hw assignments but only gave us 2. DO NOT BUY BOOK.

The tests are NOT easy if you don't pay attention, which was my mistake. Pay attention and study and you should do well in this class. His grading is pretty forgiving. Do not buy the book.

The lab requires A TON of memorization but it is manageable as long as you keep up with the material daily and be sure to attend the trips. Extra credit does help as well. Also, be sure to pay close attention in lecture and you should do fine on the exams. Book is not required.

Work is plain and simple. He replies to emails quickly. i would take this class again if i needed too.

The class is laidback, can get boring at times but not too bad. Gives study guides for the exams which are similar to the exam, has a bunch of extra credit which helps. Lecture, you'll do fine, the lab portion is a pain from all of the drawings and memorization. The field studies is cool, especially San Simeon and the fishing trip. Solid 8/10 class

If you're looking for a simple but fun GE class take this. No exams and no finals. Every week there is an assignment straight from the slides. It only took me an hour to finish the questions. I love the marine life so this class was fun. Dr. Franklin made my first online class experience full of knowledge and excitement.

I took an online class and it was the easiest class i have ever taken. He forgot to post assignment for weeks and whenever he did was super easy. You can search his test questions online and get them right. Book is required but it is not useful.

Super easy, just make sure to actually look at the due dates of the assignments. You do not need to purchase any textbook. Online quizzes and assignments are easy.

easy online class. I an not a science person at all but he uploaded assignments far in advance so you could do them when you had time. he answers emails promptly which is important when taking an online class. he reopens assignments if you need it and offers lots of extra credit. easy online class I recommend.

Professor Franklin is great! I don't like biology but he made this class fun. You have 10 question quizzes every few weeks based off of the chapters you're supposed to read. He gives so much extra credit and allows you to do assignments that are overdue. Easy to reach by email. I definitely recommend him.

The easiest online class every. i swear to God i spent less than 1 hour for this class and got an A :D the quizzes are multiple choices and always the first option is the correct answer :P:P

Great class. Compared to most upper division biology courses, this class is so doable. Take time to read the chapters, work on your notebook, and study. You should be okay. Drawing will save your life. Cracks so many dad jokes, but you can just tell he is such a simple, cool guy. Take his class if you can. He is great.

My online class might have been different from usual, as it had 450 students. Older reviews say theres no quizzes and all assignments were essays, but my class had short quizzes (some are tricky) and no essays. He gives extremely interesting PDFs and book chapters to read for the assignments; also lots of extra credit. Great prof and easy class!

All assignments and quizzes were based off readings and/or is lectures in PDFs. Overall easy class but do make sure to read because his quizzes at times can be a bit tricky! Just be aware that BIO325 and its lab consists of a lot of reading, so make sure not to fall behind

His online bio class is super easy. Just log on and do short assignments every week and he adds lectures so you don't have to read the book just look through his lecture and do the assignment. I got a 100%. It was a fun class and its not a stressful class its actually fun! As long as you try you'll pass. No projects only short questions every week.

overall a great class. come to every lecture, take notes on everything he says and you'll be solid. 1 test & 1 final. for lab stay the entire time to draw everything out, you'll thank yourself at the end when notebooks are due! the lab practicals are a pain, make sure to study weekly. field studies were fun - there were 3 trips. dont need the book

Prof. Franklin's lectures are quiet and at times funny and interesting. You have to draw specimens in class. Grade is based off lab notebook (notes and drawings), a worksheet you fill out from going to the aquarium (which goes in the notebook), and a group project. No tests. This lab helps with the actual course since it's more hands-on.

Hes a pretty good professor, you should take him if you dont want much work to do for Biology 100 Online. I only got a C+ because I missed a couple things, other than that hes pretty easy.

He is one of the best professors that I have taken at CSUN because I did not have to take any quizzes or midterms. I only had to do the assignments that he assigned to the class. I usually got extra points on them because they were super easy. Take him if you want an easy class.

Honestly easy A if you just do your work. Seriously, a professor to let you relax and be stress free for other your other finals. Offers extra extra credit and that boosts you up so high. Just do the work and check your due dates because literally no late assignments.

I took the Life in the Sea class with Dr. Franklin. He basically gives his lecture and then you're off to do the lab with your lab partner or you may choose to work by yourself. It is really hard to reach him in or even out of class. The class is being ran mostly by his T.A. Ali is the best. The best part of the class was the boat trip!!

Dr. Franklin is very passionate about what he teaches resulting in funny lectures. The class does contain a lot of info, but it's possible to get a good grade. I got a D on the midterm and an A on the final. He gives extra credit on his exams. Make sure to not get behind on the labs. He truly cares about his students succeeding & their well-being.

My favorite class ever taken at csun. Lecture was enjoyable and the field trips were so much fun. Stay up to date on the organisms looked at in lab. Making flash cards at the end of every week is what helped me stay above 100%. These complaints about GA's are not it...lol, they just want you to get the most out of it :)

Professor Franklin is a great person! The lecture and exams are good. However, his grad. assistant makes the lab section difficult. She can also be condescending at times. If you are planning to take this class, I highly suggest taking this as your only class. There is a lot of content. But overall, the class is very doable if you give the effort.

Overall, great professor. You will have to read in order to do the assignments, but it is super easy. You don't have to be a bio major to get an A in the class, the only thing is that he takes forever to answer emails but other than that, very easy class!
