Hes is a wonderful teacher, although he DOES say the word "basically" a lot, he does help out a lot, and explains thing wonderfully. he does have a weird sense of humor, so if you dont get it, you dont get it. and you might want to watch out. But hes great :D
This is the dude to take for Biology classes. He's cool and treats students with fairness!
he is a nice teacher, i think im on the good side of him because i know his wife.

I had Dr. Fultz for Bio 171 Lab, and ive had him for 231-Anatomy. Hes a good teacher and nice guy. Its just when he makes tests he doesnt put the material that he says hes going to on the test. Ive still yet to figure out where he gets the stuff he puts on test. and some of the questions are misleading.
I don't agree with the others responses, I think he is a hard teacher. All it is is a lecture. Constant.
the greatest teacher ever, he has a great personality, he goes slow, the class is hard not him, you have to do the work , but he helps you along, you can talk to him any time you want, i am so excited when i go to his class,
tests were EXTREMELY HARD!
Hated the way this man taught this class...I would rather walk through broken glass with my bare feet than take Dr. Fultz again. I walked away from his class with no more knowledge then when I started it. I tell everyone not to take him.
This class can be passed, but you must be willing to study. No matter who you take, it will be hard. I recommend not taking too many other classes with it, so you have time to study. I heard that Fultz is the easiest for this class, and I made an "A", but I studied a lot, and I mean a lot.
Anatomy is an extremely difficult class, but Dr. Fultz seems to do a great job of explaining things and getting you to understand them. I've taken this class with other instructors that didn't do a very good job teaching the material. You have to study a lot.
bunch of babies! the class is not hard at all! it's whether or not u can memorize. that's all it is! he gives you his lecture slides that reflect the tests verbatim. what's on the notes is on the test. u really dont have to take notes at all just highlight his slides and look at pictures. how is that hard? it's just a lot to memorize. take him!!!!
I had him for both MSU 101 and BIO 160. He is very good and I would recommend him to anyone! We ahd quizzes everyday in BIO but if you looked over the notes from last class they really helped you grade! Very easy to talk to if you ever need help!
Good teacher, willing to help! Very do-able class..just need to study! Some questions on his test are tricky- just pay attention to the way they are worded..know any diagram he shows in class whether he says to know it or not! I suggest taking him!:)
Dr. Fultz is an excellant professor. ALL the lecture material is posted on blackboard, so you dont have to take a ton of notes while he is going over the stuff in class, but you do need to study the material. His quizes and exams are announced 1 wk ahead of time, so you know they are coming. Quizes are sometimes hard, but exams are multiple choice.
great proffessor. posts notes on blackboard for you to print and bring to class so u don't have to write everything down. always willing to help and offers alot of study sesssions
He explains things well, and uses real life examples to help us understand. He's very good about having review sessions for tests, and will not cover material if he doesn't think he has time to cover it well enough for us to grasp it. Definitely recommend him. Make sure you show up for class though!
Dr. Fultz is a very good professor to take for Human Anatomy and Physiology I. He goes out of his way to help his students out. Quizzes are pretty simple as long as you study for them. Exams are not too bad although you must study for them as some of his questions are tricky. Very good professor and very nice! I would definitely take him again!
GREAT professor. Test are all multiple choice. Tests and quizzes come straight from his notes which are powerpoints he uploads to BB. He is very nice and he curves! Attendance is a MUST.
very hard, does nothing but read from slides and give long hard test. hardest class i've ever had
He is very helpful and teaches at a steady pace.
Good professor. Gives regular quizzes that are very easy if you have read his powerpoints. His tests are long for an hour, but that seems typical of biology courses.
Take him
Dr. Fultz is eager to help students understand, very available for questions and help. Very down to earth, and easy to get along with.
His quizzes made it very easy to pull up your grade :)
Finally a Biology Professor that goes SLOW. That's the number one reason I love Fultz, he goes through his slides slowly and explains each slide pretty well. He is a sweetheart and really wants to help his students. His tests are hard, but if you study long enough and comprehend material well enough you should do fine.
great professor; extremely willing to help. quizzes and tests fairly represent what's covered in class; expects you to hold up your end of the deal and work hard as a student, but will always help you.
Very good teacher. Pleasant and kind. Nice voice. Generous on quizes and tests. If you can't get at least a B in this class you probably should not be in college. Wal-Mart is looking for someone like you.
I really enjoyed him as a professor, however, his tests are difficult. Pay attention in class and take extra notes. Some of the test questions are tricky compared to the way the notes are written.
Dr. Fultz! What can I say about this man? Well, for one thing, he is one of the best professors on campus. Not only has this man done extensive research in his field, but he isn't the typical science drone. He is a very likable guy who truly knows how to teach. His tests are fair and aren't too dumb or too advanced.
Mr. Fultz is a great professor. He is extremely clear and all his tests are scan tron. He has several review sessions and is always willing to help you out. He also focuses more on humans with his material than plants or other animals. His test questions can be tricky but if you just study some you'll be fine.
Awesome professor! He teaches the content in a way that is not confusing. If he's going over a tough concept he will go over it multiple times to make sure everyone understands before he moves on. He genuinely cares about his students. My favorite professor here at Morehead so far.
I had Dr. Fultz for BIOL 217, the microbiology course required for nursing and vet tech majors. He is one of the most helpful professors I have ever had. If you don't understand something, all you have to do is ask. He notices whether you are there or not so be sure to come to class. Never used the textbook. Would highly recommend him!
Dr. Fultz is a polarizing professor. He is very approachable and is a good lecturer. He lectures at a rather slow pace, but his mispronunciation of words is a common annoyance. My only major qualm is his test-making. It's terrible. He doesn't test you on "take-home" points, but rather looks for specific, irrelevant details.
Great, helpful. Hard class.
Dr. Fultz is great. Very understanding. Sometimes the lectures can get boring, but most of the time he cracks jokes (which is good). If ibever needed help or had questions he was always there. If Fultz is offered take him!
Fultz is an excellent professor. His lectures are crystal clear and he'll spend extra time on an area to make sure you fully understand what is going on. The quizzes aren't overly difficult and in the end help you a lot, so don't take them lightly. Don't be fooled though his exams are very challenging.
Horrible professor. Might seem nice at first, but is very tough. Goes over lectures the entire class. When it comes to exams his lectures are completely opposite to what's on the tests. Biology is a tough class, but honestly he makes it ridiculous with his idiotic exams that make absolutely no sense.
Fultz is pretty straight to the point about things and will tell you when it's not necessary to remember something for the exam or quiz. He has review sessions before quizzes and exams that are pretty helpful. You don't have to show up to class, but if you don't, you probably won't pass. He's always willing to further explain topics as well.
Dr. Fultz is an amazing professor that gives very clear-cut lectures. He is very clear about what you need to know and what to expect. His tests are deceivingly tough though so be careful.
You have so much material for a test but never know what to study fot
Dr. Fultz is always there for his students. His office is always open. Many other students told me this class was cake and it's not. The quizzes are handed to you but the tests are tough. Don't expect an easy A
Dr. Fultz is an amazing professor. He'd help anyone. You need to show up to his lectures in order to pass. He is very clear in his lectures and makes sure he explains everything clearly before moving on. I absolutely recommend taking his class!
I really liked Fultz! It's such a hard class because of the varying content. GO TO CLASS. He covers A LOT in class, and he adds information on the test from lecture, but doesn't add it on his power points. The book is helpful if you want to look at the diagrams and pictures he shows in lecture better, but it isn't used aside from that reason.
The best professor I have ever had, hands down. Print off his slides and take notes in the margin; he adds to his powerpoints in lecture for the people who attend class. Pay attention and you'll be fine. He makes the difficult material easy to understand and is very willing to help with whatever he can. I would take him again in a heartbeat!
This class is very difficult. His test questions aren't consistent throughout the semester. Expect to be tested on the large concepts but also the tiny seemingly insignificant details.
Dr. Fultz is one of my favorite professors at MSU. Not just because he really cares about his students, but because he gets the point across clearly and has VERY fair tests. I wouldn't say it is an easy A but you will do well as long as you work.
Dr. Fultz is an amazing teacher. Attendance is mandatory to do well but you're in college, not high school. Fultz responds efficiently to emails and is always willing to meet with you and help you when you need it. Offers multiple study sessions for Bio 171 and never springs pop quizzes or tests on you. Can't wait to take him again!
I loved Fultz. Some people said otherwise but I am taking him again next semester. You are only graded on tests and quizzes but you have review sessions before exams and helps anyway possible. He posts his lectures on blackboard which was helpful too.
Fultz is one of the funniest professors I've had. He's really down to earth, and he is a very simple guy. He won't bombard you with information like some other professors, but you gotta study and go to class, otherwise you'll fail.
I absolutely love Fultz!! He is so passionate about what he does and gives such good lectures. I would say his tests are hard but as long as you know the power points and come to class to take additional notes you should be fine as long as you study. He cares about his students and what's you to do well. Plus the quizzes help too!!
Bio171 is a hard class regardless of professor, but Dr. Fultz helped me to do well in it. He is very enthusiastic about the content he is teaching and that helps to keep the lectures interesting. There is a lot of content to remember so a lot of studying is required, but Fultz is willing to answer any questions that you have.
Amazing in lecture, easy to understand. Quizzes are easy if you pay attention in class. Exams you will need to study for... A LOT!
Attendance was only mandatory on test and quiz days, the other days were just power point lectures with added insights from the instructor. Any time you needed a question answered he was available through office time or email, and never made anyone feel bad for having a question. I would definitely take this professor again. An added bonus: funny!!
Dr. Fultz went out of his way to help if you sought him out in any way he could. His exams were difficult and the material was difficult so I can't blame him for that. He taught well with the level of difficulty of the class. He tried his best to help each student and openly took questions during class if there was confusion.
Fultz is definitely one of the better professors for Bio 171, They'll say "Just know ppt" and thats true- but you need to know how to APPLY what you learn with Fultz. V responsive to questions, will offer extra insight for your reinforcement, but sometimes does feed you unneeded info or says something and says "but thats for A&P 2" so be careful
Honestly an amazing teacher. Good at answering questions. Understands the importance and difficulty of lab and cares about how well his students do in there. Come to class! No talking, no phones, no distractions!
I struggled in BIO171 and Fultz was a very approachable person. He was understanding of my frustration and was more than willing to help in any way he can. The quizzes are very definition based while the exams are more application based, so beware of that.
This made the second time I had to take the course and this time around was so much easier. Dr. Fultz grades mostly on the quizzes he gives, but also from the exams. It's very easy to reach him out of class and if you don't understand a topic, he's more than willing to help you if you go to his office.
He is available outside of class except for on weekends, he doesnt give monday tests very often. He doesnt give pop quizzes. He is an excellent professor but his class is tough. He also helps you by giving hints about what you're going to be doing in lab that week.
Fultz was a good professor, he's a little fast-paced but the reason I'm rating him the way I am is that his tests simply do not fit the material. They are always much more in-depth.
He helped the class with knowing what to expect on lab exams. He makes sure that you know what content will be on his exams. His exams are challenging and is formatted like "is it A and B, C or D, none, or all". I enjoyed how he taught the class and attendance is crucial in his class. The quizzes help you know what to expect on the exam.
Dr. Fultz is one of the best professors Morehead has to offer. He genuinely cares and wants students to succeed. I am so thankful to have had him for BIOL 171, 244, and 380. He really does teach well and is very fair.
Everything he talks about in lectures is covered on powerpoints which is very nice. He gives amazing examples that help you better understand difficult topics. He is VERY detailed. Be prepared to study a LOT. But, it was all worth it. I learned more in his class than any other class at MSU.
If you understand the notes, you will get an A. He posts the powerpoints and that is all you need to know on exams. If you do not go to lecture, it is harder to understand the notes. If you are interested in the material, the class should be fun and easy.
Hes such a great professor. He makes a hard subject easy to understand and he doesnt go too fast during lectures. His tests are easier than many other professors at MSU
Professor Fultz is by far my favorite professor. As long as you show up to class and know the material, you'll get an A. His exams aren't hard as long as you are prepared for them. He's very caring and understanding as well; if you need extra help, Fultz has office hours and is always open for questions. He is an absolute fantastic professor!!!
Professor Fultz is a fantastic professor. I had him for BIO 171 and BIO 244, and I wish he would teach BIO 245 as well. I would highly recommend him. As long as you show up to class and study the material, you're golden. The exams aren't hard as long as you put in the effort and study beforehand, not just the night before. Fultz is great!
Fultz is a great professor, and he does an excellent job at making hard concepts easier to understand. His PowerPoint notes are all that you need to know for exams, and he makes the notes brief and condensed so that you aren't studying unnecessary material. You need to study for exams over a few days (you WILL fail if you cram studying).
Professor Fultz is a good man- however, not my favorite of professors. He would add in extra content on the exams that he has not covered in lecture, as if he expects you to know it. He also can be pompous at times, and it makes lecture feel like a brag session for him. However, he knows his content well and is a fantastic research mentor.
This class had the potential to be interesting but he made it horrible. His teaching is reading off the powerpoints. The exams are extremely specific and ask about minor details from the powerpoints. We did always get out of lab early, but that is because we did absolutely nothing. Also, he hates cats which is a big character flaw.
He was a really great professor, but you MUST read the textbook if you want over a 70 on the exams. Which he does tell you, but the powerpoints he uses are really vague summaries. The lectures arent entirely boring I'm just not great at biology.
I would highly recommend taking Fultz for BIOL 171 and 380. If you had him for 171, you will be much better prepared for BIOL 380 later. He is great at explaining difficult concepts so they are understandable. You must understand how to apply the information he gives for exams in order to do well, and you need to study several days ahead for exams.
As long as you pay attention and study you will do well. He is so helpful and considerate.
If you want to do well in the class, you need to come to every lecture. Heavily dependent on lecture but don't take if you can't learn well by sitting in a class and just listening to him talk from a powerpoint.
He is very helpful during office hours. His exams were some of the toughest with select all apply questions being given with no partial credit. To succeed, you need to memorize and know every single word on his PowerPoint by heart. He doesn't let you see quizzes or exams [at least when he was online] to see what you got wrong which was a bummer.
Starting this off I absolutely love Fultz and he is an amazing professor! His class is oriented by tests and his PowerPoints are an exact representation of what will be on the test, so study the PowerPoints and take good notes. Attendance is mandatory as well. Fultz is a very caring and wonderful man and I would recommend anybody to take him!
His tests were worded and given differently than the quizzes and different than what was promised
A pretty good professor and explains things quite well. Open to answering questions. Has made some rather rude comments toward some students but he hates it when students show up late. His exams are not bad, but the worst part is that he has selected multiple exams and if you get one out of let's say 2 right, he does not grant partial credit.
Dr. Fultz has interesting, but PPT heavy lectures. His exams are difficult- I found it helpful to record lectures/write down what he SAYS in class. He is funny and cares about his students-- just don't be late to lecture!
This professor is just down right rude. He won't let you leave to use the bathroom unless you have a doctors note. You can't even talk. He asked us a problem and asked us to answer the question and got mad at us for answering. Other than his rude self the course work is really easy.
not strict on attendance but you will fail if you don't come to class. the only grades are quizzes and exams, they're pretty difficult, but lectures are clear and most info can be found in the slides. sometimes he glosses over things that end up being important. strict about phones & leaving class early, does NOT offer makeup work. nice & funny
