Your students need to learn how to think and a degree form york is useless
Not clear when lecturing & test too hard

Everyone complained about the easy midterm (for being hard), the Final was EASY!
he was interesting, but went slow at the beginning and had to rush after
cool guy.. at the end every thing works out ok
He is an average professor, his tests are very hard though
Awesome guy... if you take the time to get to know him... he will help you in every way he can.. he understand everything that students go thru
He is very nice. A very good teacher, and also funny. He'll go out of his way to help you out, if you ask for his help. Truly a good person.
Seems like a really great guy but is really not a good proff. Makes many mistakes in his own notes and does not compare to most biology proffs and seems more like a TA. He is very very helpful, though and does what he can for you when you ask.
As a person, he is great and helpful. As a prof, his notes can be really hard to follow (LOTS of shorthand) and his lectures follow no particular order. He will make mistakes in his problem sets, and instead of correcting them, he mentions it 5 pgs in, once you're already so confused. Labs are hard
nice and funny prof, tries to keep u focused and relates material to real life..very funny guy actually..but his notes are crappy and hard to follow..tests are tricky and application-like so study hard, try to get his old tests - he recycles questions..very helpful but it's almost impossible to bear through the class if not for his stories and joke
you'll enjoy his class. tests are tricky but not too bad. labs are hard (35% of the course) ,make sure you choose a good TA .

He kinda sucksHis notes REALY suckHe is so unorganized. He jumps from 1 topic to another and he mentions just a pick of aprocess and then asks u very detailed things aboutthat process.Beside that he is so moodyBecause few stupid poeple always come late and slam the door on the way in he gave us a killer test (12.5% of final)to get our attention.WT..
it's not his fault that the course is hard. the textbook is rarely used, so, make sure you go to his lectures and understand everything for there'll be nothing to study from for the test. overall, good prof and knows his material.
He tries his best to make the best out of a crappy course, funny, very approachable/helpful...tests are tough but straight from all of his notes. Great prof

HE IS SOO UNORGANIZED, WOW I have never seen some one as unorgized as him, he is the worst prof I have had by FAR
Worst prof I have ever had. Boring, disorganized, EARLY lectures. I question how he is still allowed to teach. Gives you horrible notes, tells you not to use the book and makes you write excessively hard tests. Hope you do well on the exam and in labs and you can get a good mark. But for your own safety, avoid this POS.
short form writing not understandable. Often not on topic. Always comes late to lecture. Material not related to text books. Tests unnecessarily difficult and critisizes students for low marks from a class of 400.
He sucks period, Try to avoid him as much as possible, Take it during summer when he is not teaching the course, the doesnt even know the ALPHABET for crying out loud on the website he wrote A-G in lecture hall F and F-Z in CSE A I mean WTF?!?!?! Worse by far I agree with the rest of you and I am sure everyone agrees.
dont understand why ppl are complaining about do a little work. Did ppl think biochemistry was going to be easy? If you pay attention in class and write down what he says (not what he himself writes down), you'll do fine. Very helpful also if you go to his office. He is disorganized tho, but a very interesting course
not even a york prof, he's assoicated with seneca college and with reason! He teaches random thoughts and makes the course unnecessary difficult with his crappy notes. very hard to get a A grade but B is possible if u study lots.
disorganized, crappy note, very difficult test. what else can u add.try to take a course when he is not teaching.
His exams don't reflect what's been taught in class. You go into the exam thinking you're prepared, you see the questions and start wondering if you studied the right material.
Worst prof ever!!! I have never been taught by someone sooo incapable of getting the message through. He is very disorganized, talks a lot about beer, hockey and his wife(well the last one is only sometimes)and he has this system of abbreviations that he created thats incomprehensible most of the time.take the course when he doesnt teach it...period
AWFUL. just flat out AWFUL. He was always late, his tests were retarded and he was the most unhelpful person ever.
He can't teach at all. Does not use the book, and his notes are not organized. Cannot manage the time: in the beginning of the course he spent too much time on unimportant matters and jokes; in the end he just ran through the notes leaving out much stuff. His abbreviations are crappy: like "NBance" means importance
unorganized? yes. boring? no. unhelpful? no. instead of writing down what he does (because his writing is a mess) just listen to what he says. and write down all the details. then go to the text and find the keywords. worked ok for me. hes good with emails also

biochem can not be just a bunch of notes, with no connection.he didn't use the book at all (maybe he couldn't lecture on the book, but only on his poor notes). Make your self a favor:never take his course.never.
If you have the option change your professor if Gasden is on your schedule. Otherwise prepare to work really hard. You can manage in this calss if you take notes and look in the text book for support. Professor is disorganized and has horrible notes, but if you find write down the key stuff and look in the text book your ok.
He is always late, never come to class on time, and always talk some poor jokes. and his notes, have no clue at all. I will never take his course if I have any other choice.
I thought that he was a great prof. Although his notes were a bit difficult to understand at times, he always made himself available for extra help. He would spend several hours holding study sessions with students who needed help before tests and made a great study guide before the final exam. His jokes helped to make the class more pleasant.
Good guy. Notes have no flow and he's all over the place. You have to take notes like a champ. If you memorize the notes from class, you're set
So far, he's the worst prof I've met @ york. 1.Always late 2. extremely disorganized and unprepared. 3. Say too much unrelated stuff in class, need to rush more than 60 pages of notes before final exam (cant manage his time). 4. Unwilling to provide answers to practice test. 5. horrible hand-writing.
Very disorganised, unprepared, playful attitude, messy & confusing notes, kill interest in learning
I put 2 much NBance on his abbrev. and my [ ] in the class was low.
Absolutely not a good teacher. Totally lost in his lectures. Terrible notes. Too messy & unorganised.
I had this prof for biochem2020, and I didnt like his style of teaching (not organized). But then I took bchm2021, and he improved. Overall, he's a good prof, it helps to do some extra reading outside his notes. Tests were fair.
worst prof i've ever had and its just my luck that I'm having him again for biol 3110. hate him
Had Mike before, tough prof. He'll expect you not only to know, but also to understand the material. He doesn't spoonfeed. His notes do have structure, just not very clear at first. Very appoachable and willing to help. This guy will make or break most students. Maybe that's why students complain about him alot :)
extremely disorganized... couldn't follow him in the lectures as he skipped through notes ..Doesn't use the textbooks he made us pay for..uploaded new stuff the night before the test expects u to know them... worst prof for ur GPA... Avoid him (though I know he is not easy to avoid )
I don't know what to say. Take the course, it's pretty doable, not too hard and the tests are fair. But Gadsden himself doesn't make an impression of a real scientist. Doesn't seem to be passionate about science. He should have chosen a career in hockey or something, he's way more passionate about it.
Well...He is a good person but very unorganized
one of the worst so far at york...., very very unorganized, goes from one topic to another and then back. Doesnt use the main fat textbook and gives us links to 5 other ones to use. Uses microsoft word, yes word, files are unorganized. And he uses the weirdest short forms like NB for important, why cant u just use imp. Worst ever!!!!!
had him for biol2020 and 21 before, teaching style is unorganized and messy. Has tendency to upload important stuffs near test. Friends @ seneca have a completely different view on him, saying that he's a very good prof and lovable (you can see the ratings from this site). Remember to search for resources(book+internet), dont rely on the notes.
HES A BLOODY ****...hes by far the worst prof i have ever had..hes not only disorganized in his notes but his exams also..he made life in the course a living hell not only was it at 8:30 but he was a crappy teacher and that made the whole experience that much worse..he should quite possibly be fired
Never have I seen a class where 500 students argue on WebCT about what the **** will be on the next day's test..completely unorganized, and has the audacity to tell us that he wrote the test the night before (because he probably was too busy watching the leafs..), while making 10+ question corrections mid-test, AFTER we have wasted our time on them
This prof is unfortunately up there in the "worst prof of all time @ York" list. Don't waste ur precious time @ his lectures, they will actually make u unlearn stuff. Read textbook, just enough to understand. Focus in the buffer section and the rest is easy. I definately recommend this course - good training for overcoming bad biology profs ;]
The most unorganized professor you will ever come across. The midterm had 35 questions and there were 20 mistakes on it. His notes are all over the place and are random. He comes late to class every day and wastes time. Even the website is very unorganized and you need to sort through stuff. People argue on webct and debate what is on the test
People giving gadsden at bad rating are for the most part younger students who expect to be spoonfed information. I've had him three times, if you write down what he says in lecture, a high mark is very easy, everything is from the notes Sure he's 'lazy' but he's funny and very approachable if you dont ask him stupid questions.
worst prof. He is a college prof. and should not teach university courses. very unorganized, illiterate and confusing. wastes a lot of time and no one is asking for spoon feeding. We just want him to be organized and ON TIME!!!
awesome!!
Disorganized notes & presentation makes it hard/confusing to understand the ideas and learn. Uses abbreviations without explaining them, bad handwriting. Needed to read textbook to understand topics better. Notes are general but tests on details. Tests are ok but tests on little details that are unimportant. Ok as a person but needs improvement as teacher.
He knows what he's talking about but man is he disorganized. Put all his notes on Webct in random fasion with no logical order. He threw up last minute notes just before exams without going through any of them. Sometimes he'll make you laugh . His tests were some what fair. Remember to study problem sets and material that he mentions more than once
I have had this professor 3 times as well. It actually is true that he was disorganized before but he has progressively become more organized. He is nice and believes in bell-curving. Knows almost all student's names.
In the beginning I was scared to have him as my prof. But he is awesome, wicked personality & extremely smart. He is so laid back (watches Family Guy & drinks beer) there is no that he is in Biol. His organisation has greatly improved. He is always there to help. N.B He NEVER uses the book. YOU HAVE to attend class for A's. 2021=no online notes
Very fair marker and extremely easy to approach. Always making time for his students! Makes the class fun and actually jokes with students. Organization has greatly improved making his class THAT much better. His tests are easy if you study his notes and attend all of his classes taking special care on things he'll mention but may not write down.A+
Very much the absent-minded professor
great prof. makes the class interesting, and hes funny... his tests aren't that bad as long as you study his notes and never miss class
Simply the WORST prof I have ever had! Avoid at all costs. He is extremely arrogant, unfriendly, makes fun of people asking questions. He is the most unorganized person I have ever seen, late for classes. Lectures are a mess, jumps from topic to topic without any logical connections. His lectures and test consist of stupid trivial stuff. HORRIBLE
The lamest prof you will encounter. His jokes are lame, he tries to be funny but he's not. . Who tells the whole class that his daughter has 3 kidneys? Tests were a bad and completely unrelated to the text. His notes are a mess ant impossible to follow. He doesn't post any relevant info. He's full of himself, but he doesn't know subject at all! :(
Awful lecturer. In the whole semester teached me nothing. Covered just 3 chapters out of 30-chaper-$150-book during the whole semester, then covered whole another chapter on the last day of class and had the indicency to call it a review! Exam was horrible, had lots of questions from that "review", the rest was tiny details of no importance to bio
Honestly Honestly, why is he a prof? I have no idea. Absolutely Horrible, Class avergae after first test was 25%, i think thats everyones clue to AVOID HIM!!!!!!
If you understand the way he teaches beforehand, you'll do fine. All of the stuff on the tests are from the notes. He's not that bad...!
Even A + students have to struggle finding out what the whole lecture was about. He eats breakfast in class, (If its a morning class) and has the stupidest/vulgor jokes. Never consults the book, yet makes us buy it. Gives no background about anything and just throws details as if it were an exam review class. My TA shared the same opinion.
His exams don't reflect what's been taught in class. You go into the exam thinking you're prepared, you see the questions and start wondering if you studied the right material.Incompetent professor, horrible teaching skills/He's Nothing like a scientist, seems as if hes just teaching to have a job. And tells students to not consult the book to often.
I'm so glad that he's not teaching 3010 this fall (08). He's totally unorganized and not a good prof at all. I didn't get anything from his class. I just found out that he got his grad degree at York, and is currently associate prof from Seneca at York. Bio department has a lot better profs. My advice is DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS
He will be teaching 3010. The only key to scoring well in Gadsden's classes, is too : 1. Know stuff pre-hand 2. Get acquinted with his teaching style 3. Suck up and butterify/flatter him alot. If you succeed in laying a good impression, he may boost your marks latently. 4. If ur a chick flirt like a seductrous with him ! Follow these for an A+
Need to know that he is teaching a university not a college. Exams are all about lab and college stuff. no organization lecture is all over the place. Exams got nothing to do with class work. no teaching skill. I wonder y he is even allowed to teach.
awesome,He is very very GOOD prof. He'll expect you not only to know, but also to understand the material. If you record his lectures and listen to all of them you even can get A/A+. His tests are all base on his lectures.Always Always come to the class.he became more organize.
He puts things on the tests that he mentioned in class in passing. I recommend a recorder for this class because he likes to test on little details.
Lectures are good, except that you really have to pay attention. Course content is primarily based on lecture notes that are posted.
JUST TAKE MY ADVICE AND DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. IT IS AWFULL.
I had this prof. for biochem II also. he was nice, funny, and helpful. His courses seem to be very lecture note heavy - I recommend getting a recorder and taking meticulous notes.
makes learning unnecessarily hard by being disorganized. The material itself is not hard, but for a newcomer it'll look super hard because of his rambling. But he thinks, he is doing a great job which makes it harder to improve. Aspiring teachers should sit in his lectures to learn how NOT to teach. Doesn't come across as a person who likes his job
Had this prof for 3 frikin times and yet makes you cry everytime. One thing I declare is VERY VERY VERY UNORGANIZED and notes are extremely random. If you don't attend lectures, you are screwed in simple sentence. But approachable if you need help. As some1 said,"he will either make you or break you. if you ace him, you are one serious ****.
this professor is awful. his lectures and notes are disorganized. there is no course sylabus, and there are no assigned readings. its difficult to study for his tests because they are based off his notes, which are hard to understand and difficult to follow. reading the textbook is pretty much a waste of time as well. you wont be tested on it
In all honesty, HE IS TERRIBLE. He seriously needs to learn how to teach biology! In lectures he open up like 200 powerpoint slides at once and randomly picks 30 and goes over them! You don't know where to study from! Many of his test questions are from topics he never taught! But he is good at flirting so girls take him if you want a sugardaddy!
Nice guy, but very disorganized. Take really good notes and you should do well. Very unorthodox way of teaching...confusing at times.
he's really hard, but he's really nice and funny. he'll help you a lot if you need it.
Yes he is unorganized, but as long as you can handle that, you should ace the course, the tests are based entirely on lecture, the book is only required as a supplement for the stuff you don't understand, and he hints test questions in tutorial, so dont miss a single one!
He's extremely disorganized and showed no respect to students. Has no sense of time (always late and cover too many slides before exams). I am surprised to see a professor like this in university. Make sure you read the textbook / info on the web before coming to class.
He's disorganized and easily sidetracked but his tests are decent. You'll do well as long as you come to every class and make good notes to study from. He's really not as bad as many of these comments make him seem.
Is a bit unorganized but keeps you interested during class, he is pretty entertaining. His tests are fair as long as you attend class. i liked the class a lot!
Very fair professor, takes a little while to get used to his teaching style but he is very helpful.. ATTEND CLASS everything comes from the lecture, he makes connections and really develops the critical thinking skills needed.. YOU WILL NOT BE SPOONFED, it's not high school any more !
he is a great lecturer. doesnt want you to memorize the itsy bitsy details but wants you to understand how things work and why they work that way. His tests are fair but you have to put your thinking caps on - coming to lecture alone would get you a B OR B+. Understanding the material will get you an A. Knowing how to apply it, will get you an A+
He is ok. Very unorganized though, having a lecture recording may help. Re-adjusts the grade if the class is not doing well, so he is not a bad guy. My advice: don't take this in the summer, since there is too much material and not enough time, so not everything is covered, but he did ask those things in the exam, but it wasn't application based
BIOL 3310: Awesome Prof!! Study and you will do well. He is a great lecturer and very helpful.
Fun prof, but a little condescending. Helpful after class (if small) but other availabilities vary. If you want to do well pay attention in class and listen to recordings afterwards. Many Answers to questions on tests are word for word what he says/writes in class (writes notes on overhead you can easily copy). Participitate in class too.
Best prof. Had him twice: 2021 & 3110 and I ended up with 2 A+. If u prefer to study off your own notes made from his lectures, he's yor prof! Verdict: dont miss a single lecture, make ditailed notes and understand the material very well. Im very excited to be in his winter microbio class (3rd time!)!
HORRIBLE! He does not prepare you for the tests at all!
you come to class after days spent studying thinking your gona get an A+ or A but you usually barely pass. Forget about getting As in his exams, getting a B is very hard to get with this prof. Attending every class and taking good notes is a must to get a good grade since he takes a lot of his questions from what he mentioned quickly
honestly a good prof if you attend all lecture. what you put in is what you get out it isn't always always the proof but i liked his class got an A+
go to class and listen. He will teach you a lot (all tests are on lecture) and help you if you need it. He even gives information that would be extremely useful for every day life. He cares about his students and how they think but he won't take the usual crap from students. If you want to LEARN, take a course with him
Tests are nothing like what is taught in lecture. His way of teaching the material makes no sense!
He simply can not engage students. You will hate biology after taking a class with him. I got above 90 in high school and also a high 80's in bio1001. So I am not a lazy whining kid who can't handle university. He might be a great professor in other upper year bio courses. BUT AVOID HIM FOR FIRST YEAR BIO.
Don't get fooled by his jokes and side stories during class. He may seem like a laid back prof but he is a HARD and PICKY marker. His test questions are not difficult at all... but he marks hard so it's hard to do well. Attending lecture is mandatory. The labs are easy.. so try to do really well in those.
Had Gadsden for Micro this past summer. It was a time-consuming course b/c it involved a lab report or some other assignment due EVERY SINGLE WEEK. However, labs do pull up your mark substantially. Tests are fair, but he does mark a bit picky. He's always late, and disorganized but he does lecture well. He's approachable, but strict. I got an A.
Took bio with him last year. Loved the guy. Got an A+, but you need to work hard and attend his lectures, because they are very, very important. Great lecturer
He is soooo soo good, just go to class and take notes,I love him
Professor Gadsden's tests are BEYOND fair however he's pretty picky when marking short answers. You must attend each class and take detailed notes to do well. He's fascinating and wonderful prof. His lectures are never boring. Getting an A in the course is more than achievable as long as you put in the work. Whoever complains is just plain lazy
Avoid at all costs!!! Super unorganized and "picky marker". I warned you :)
Interesting material. This professor is very passionate about critical thinking so be prepared for a challenge. His tests are not difficult if you come to class and take note of the questions he asks his students. They will definitely be on the exam! Picky marker! A is attainable!!
Great lectures but not very approachable. Funny. Have to attend every single lecture and really pay attention because he doesn't use the textbook. The little things he says have to be taken seriously because he'll put them on the exam. Don't miss a lecture and take good notes and you'll be fine. Got A+
If you attend all lectures and take detailed notes, you will do great in the course. I took notes in every single lecture and i ended with a good mark. His assignments are fairly easy, but to make it fair, he marks tough on the short answers.
love him!
Unorganized , messy and cocky on top of that . He is one of those old profs who think they have seen it all and know it all ... He has long forgotten what it is like to be a student and thus it feels like the material he gives you is in a piecemeal format . You will stress out and you will do 95% of the material on your own . AVOID.
The lecture material is interesting, but he's really disorganized (i.e. he'll mention a topic once and then finish the explanation of it in a different lecture 2 weeks later). If you need this course for a lab credit, there are so many other bio courses that you can choose from. He's also picky with short answers.
Extremely unorganized , messy, and unresourceful! He will start a topic one week and readdress it the next month with all of the content in the first midterm. Attending lectures is a must! Dont really need to lecture record but you must write everything down. Labs were hard! But the exam you should be used to his testing
Great prof, do agree he's unorganized and all over the place but just record his lectures and take note of the questions he asks in class. Get a hold of past tests! Labs are hard if you have a bad lab partner but TAs are fair markers. Start on the written assignment EARLY and make sure you know how to do dilutions it will show up on the final
Honestly, he's pretty good. The lecture part is pretty easy. Only the labs are difficult. He goes at a reasonable pace, he's funny and he tries his best. Yeah, he's disorganised, but his job is to lecture. You can do great in this class, but you have to put in effort. FAR easier than most classes (biology of cancer?). Oh and the book is uneeded
Nice guy, very funny. I found that he doddled a lot, and it sometimes took him like 20 minutes to talk through 2 slides, as he would get side tracked and tell you stories about his life a lot. His tests require pretty specific answers, with little room for part marks. If it's wrong, it's wrong. A is attainable for sure though!
I'm in my 4th year so I have went through a lot of professors with different teaching methodsstyles, but Gadsden has got to be one of the worst. Unbelievably disorganized and actually makes concepts more confusing. The textbook explains better, however the course exams are taken from lecture material.
AMAZING PROF! Many students don't like his teaching style but I was hooked onto his lectures! He continuously writes notes with students and is def one of the best professors for those students who are visual learners! I didn't use the textbook at all, even for moodle quizzes and his tests are clear cut, straight forward! ATTEND HIS LECTURES!
The most disorganized professor I've had in all 4 yrs at YorkU. His lectures have no structure, he jumps from topic to topic, and he tends to go on tangents He doesn't have office hours and tells students to email him but doesn't respond. His tests are fair and he asks critical thinking/ application q's. Must use own discretion for assignments.
Avoid any classes that he's teaching. Vague and disorganized, loses tests, and constantly asks for reassurance as to whether or not he has taught a certain topic or not (will teach the same thing twice). Doesn't use a textbook, so attending lecture is absolutely necessary. Honestly has 0 teaching skills.
Disorganized; up to 25% of your test will be material that he forgot to teach. Very unclear. No structure to his lectures. Take with Nivillac.
One of the worst professors I have ever had. Disorganized, forgetful and very unclear. Jumps from one topic to the next. He likes to tests things he hasn't taught. Does not reply to emails. Misplaces tests and is very late marker. We paid money for this class and he hasn't taught us all the material. But unfortunately, we are stuck with him.
This professor is confusing but you can still do well. He gives access to slides and writes notes on his tablet with the class. so you just need to take good notes and the slides he posts to get a good grade. Also, if there are questions he accidentally included on the test but did not teach, he disregards them. tests include MC & short answers
This is the easy course and most of the materials on the tests are those he usually writes on his notebook. However, he sometimes forgets that some materials he has not gone through and might be on the tests (just remind him). You do not need to buy or read the textbook for this course. Overall, that was an easy and interesting course (easy A).
As a first year student, I find this professor Very Unorganized. I don't recommend having him as a first year professor.
He's nice but an awful educator to anyone needing to construct some core concepts in bio (he also likes to bring in an excessive amount of chem into his lectures). He jumps around a lot and just mentions important concepts without explaining them, in very tough (and often new) terminology. Lots of personal learning involved.
Honestly one of the worst profs. He is very unorganized and gets off topic very easily. His lecture recordings and "notes" that he posts are completely useless. He might be a nice and funny guy but this man cannot teach. If you have him as a prof, i strongly recommend dropping or switching the class for Nivillac.
His lectures are pretty much him talking about his personal life, and a couple current biological examples that he will be testing you on rather than the actual course material. He is very funny though.
He has no idea how to teach. He's super disorganized, can be very rude, and he doesnt stick to materials covered. Bio 1000 can be very easy if you keep materials organized and to the point. The lecture material and the quizes were not in sync and required us to do further reading upon trying to be prepared for class readings and other courses.
VERY unorganized.. bases tests only on what he says in lecture but he doesn't fully teach, he just jumps from one topic to another and does not connect concepts. Unorganized notes which are difficult to understand
Hes honestly a nice guy but a terrible prof, had him twice already for biol 1000 but really wish i had a diff prof
lecture about random topics incoherently just to make students come to class and tests only what was taught during lecture. Constantly complains when a number of students don't show up to do clickers. This prof cares way too much about class attendance to the point where there is absolutely no pedagogical structure whatsoever. AVOID
Can't get around his moodle page. Mentions one concept and skips to the next without explaining, says we'll go further but did not. The exam was not relevent to the lectures. He says to only focus on what he teaches, but doesn't teach anything. Therefore, we don't really have anything to study from.I had to search up everything online for the exam.
He is probably the worst prof I've ever had. he doesn't teach, he just states a bunch of topics but never explains them and then expects us to know it and puts it on the test. tests also include questions about things that were never taught or mentioned in lecture. terrible at explaining (when he does explain). try not to take a class with him
He is tough and if you are a good student he is more comfortable to provide information. He will sort of tell you the test questions.
he was an amazing professor. His tests are strictly from what he teaches in class so no text book is needed. Students who complained about receiving a bad grade did not attend his class.
Don't take this class. His tests are hard because he doesn't teach and there is 0 structure and he doesn't care to help students, he expects you to figure it out on your own and doesn't use the textbook. I will never take a course with him again.
Save yourself, do NOT take this course. There is no flow to lecture, content is scattered over moodle, does not tell you what is on the test. Most of the test is from the articles. Assignments will not be discussed, but will always mention what we FAILED to do. Don't bother with this professor. Attendance is a must
Lectures: Scattered, no way to prepare to upcoming lecture as lectures are provided in the form of notes which he makes DURING lectures. His notes are completely disorganized. No txtbk to refer to. He will make you do your OWN readings, and research. Exams: Difficult (questions are more critical thinking & application, rather than content based)
This Professor simply does not evaluate on a fair basis. Lectures make absolutely no sense and he fails to establish any connections between his topics. He has very specific expectations about assignments that he does not explicitly list in the assignment guidelines; no rubrics as well. Just an awful professor who should not be teaching science.
Seems like a very likeable and funny guy, but as a prof he's disorganized, doesn't preprepare for lectures and comes up with everything on the spot, doesn't want to teach, doesn't know what he's taught, everything on the exam came from random links he posted on noodle and never mentioned.
This was a challenging, but fun class. The flow of lectures changes based on questions from students or issues in the news. Attendance is an absolute must, as are the readings. Dr. Gadsden's approach develops your ability to do research and understand it. Tests require you to have a deep understanding the concepts as the questions are app based.
I really enjoyed his class, he honestly is not a hard professor. Everything on the tests comes from his lectures and so you have to review everything he says in lectures in order to do well, I think the reason why some students didn't do well is because they never came to class or reviewed lecs. He is not the most organized prof though.
Good professor people who complain about his class and got a bad grade either never went to lecture or did not review his lectures at home. Literally if you do these two things you will do good.
Worst prof I had. Very unorganized and doesn't teach at all. Tests and exam is irrelevant to most of content in his lectures. I have nothing else to say but if you have him as your prof drop the course and take with a different prof.
Very knowledgeable Prof, however, this causes him to jump from one thing to another, things which won't necessarily be tested on. You will not understand the lectures properly if you do not do the readings beforehand. He provides slides, notes, videos and screencasts. Questions come from EVERYWHERE. Bad idea to skip class. Too many details.
Most arrogant teacher ever. He teaches for people who have an extensive knowledge on the subject, not for students who are in college with no previous degree. Bugs you to be professional and on time but he was always late, sometimes 30-40 minutes. Lectures very difficult to follow, but if you do manage to write everything he says you should be fine
Took reproduction course with him and I can tell you this prof cannot teach. Lectures are not clear and It's so hard to follow him. He does not know what he wants to talk about in class and always goes ogg topic. Dont judge him from first few weeks of class.
This course is on the easier side of the spectrum . Assessments include: 1 critique, 1 group-based critique and presentation (if done poorly on this one you can redo it), several online tests, and a midterm. No final for this course, but attendance is essential, otherwise a cumulative final will ensue.
I don't understand why his rating is so low, had him for reproduction and we got to take home our midterm and there was no exam, and the critique was straight forward, but yes he is a little all over the place but with what he teaches its not really a heavy course in terms of material. Got an A, and I'm not a A student soo take it.
he is so amazing. so smart and caring BUT if you do not show up to lecture or review material that he posts like online lectures or articles.. you wont pass. His material is relatable to everyday life and dont buy the textbook you wont need it.
He is super scattered and will talk about the same info every single week. Does not use powerpoints or the syllabus to direct your readings and no textbook. He speaks from his mind. Everything he says you write down. His tests are super hard and he wont clarify concepts to you and gives u a study guide that has nothing to do with what he taught.
This professor is very unorganized. His documents on Moodle are all over the place and so are his lectures. He comes up with random topics and discusses them as if we have a PHD in biology. Very frustrating! Slow to respond back to emails. Shows up late to teach. Makes tests very hard to achieve a decent grade. No reading list/book to follow.
If you are a nursing student taking this professor's class you will struggle. He teaches his INTRODUCTION to microbiology like a masters degree class, he is late often, has zero guidance or layout to the course, his Moodle shell is scattered and confusing, he goes on rants in class that are loosely based on course material- AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Best science prof I've had at york. he touches upon subjects that are real and affect peoples lives. I loved this class with him. if you just go to class and pay attention you will be fine! My only complaint would be the rule surrounding labs, miss more than 2 and you cant pass.. you wont be let in the lab after 15 mins of being late.
Moodle was extremely confusing and hard to follow. He posts way too many articles and links that are irrelevant to the course. Way too much extra info on Moodle, found it very difficult to stay organized in the course. Go to class otherwise you won't do well because he tests on what he lectures. Lectures were hard to follow.
For microbio we were given no reading list/topics, so there was no way to prepare for the lectures. He suggested after the lecture to search online or in the textbook topics we didn't understand. If you go to class and take strict notes you will do fine. If you're a student who likes to prepare ahead of class & want clear instructions don't take!
Doesn't explain things properly. Only reason I'm getting a B so far is due to Khan Academy. Ask him what chapters to read, all he says is you do the work to find them. Anytime I ask him a question related to the course, he doesn't know how to answer. Some questions on quizzes aren't taught in class. Iclickers and quizzes together are only worth 5%
posts recordings on moodle but does not post slides or anything to follow along with. we asked what chapters are on the midterm he does not tell us, says "figure it out yourself". his lectures are all over the place, he either he takes FOREVER to explain things or he speaks too fast & you arent able to write anything down; nothing in between.
take him and you'll end up with lower than what you expected, tests are different from whats covered in class. genuinely he is a nice guy but the other prof writes the test, which causes the bad experience, hoping the other prof understands that!
No. He's a nice guy but he's a HORRIBLE professor. It's almost as if he's completely unaware of anything important that you need to know for this course as he skips over important points. The quizzes are completely unrelated to anything he says along with the midterms. To do well with him just study the learning objectives and you should be fine.
Horrible professor plzzz avoid and if you have him just study the book and hopefully you can do fine. However, this professor seems to be living on another planet not aware of of important points you need to know. Also, he is very unstructured, just please avoid him please.
Just plain awful!!!!!!!!
Avoid plz don torture yourself
This prof does not teach well at all. He skips over the important concepts, jump from one topic to another. His tests are badly worded and does not really test you on your knowledge. I read the book, went to all his lectures, still got B in the course even though I studied like crazy. Avoid him if GPA is important to you, take it with another prof.
Please dont take his course
Prof just sucks at teaching . Avoid him if possible, trust me when I say this!!! Straight off reads the slides!
Took BIOL 3150 (Microbiology) with him. This was the first class in a long time as a biology student I enjoyed. I wish he taught more classes. There may have been some confusions with the course but that's because it was a lab course being taught online. Other than that he is an entertaining lecturer and very easy to focus which allows you to learn
Very knowledgeable. Discussed topics relevant to current COVID situation - very interesting. Makes himself available to answer questions. Grading is strict, but fair. Work hard and you will do well. A nice guy too.
I loved this class so much, my favourite bio course. I actually learned many things, esp about covid. He marks hard, but if you study and understand theres no reason u wouldnt do well. he actually does explain things properly, unlike the ratings here. if he doesnt, he always goes back in the same or different lecture to clarify, and is rlly nice!
I took this general ed course during the 18/19 year. His tests are straight from the lectures so they're fair. If you attend every lecture and write down and review most of what he says then you shouldn't have a problem and if you took science classes throughout all of high school then this course and its labs are a breeze.
Chaos. Syllabus a month late. No set of criteria for exams. Group project throughout the term with no rubric/direction. Laziest person yet talks about how we are all lazy students that will find no job. Didnt bother to change dates on anything yet alone his email. I am in my last term with 9.0 GPA and I was told this is an easy A class. Run away.
do not take please!! so hard and tests were so unfair. everyone was barely surviving his class
Scams students into buying perusal textbook Teaches biochemistry instead of biology High school students will struggle 3Rd year student will also struggle To worried about cheating rather than actually teaching Old profs need to retire and give younger profs a chance Does not teach Quizzes on moodle are irrelevant to the readings
Simply does not care about student success. Makes tests extremely specific to avoid cheating, instead of focusing on students learning. Do not take this course if you care ab ur grade. Lectures are prerecorded not posted consistently and so bland they make you fall asleep. Unorganized, and unenthusiastic about his career.
Horrible experience. The prof is so UNORGANIIZED. doesn't know what he is talking about most of the time. so hard to focus during his lectures. and the tests were unbelievably hard. the course with this prof as the course director was a nightmare. try to avoid him at all costs.
I don't know how in teaches if we are in his class physically but online experince is worst.
DO NOT TAKE THE COURSE WITH THIS PROFESSOR AS THE COURSE DIRECTOR. HE WILL MAKE THE SEMESTER A NIGHTMARE AND WILL RUIN YOUR GPA. RUN!
Based on his past ratings, I was expecting the worse. However, I found Dr. Gadsden alright. He is disorganized which can be frustrating, but overall, wasn't too bad because he did teach us everything we needed to know for the tests. The course is hard, but focus on his lectures and take comprehensive notes. Also, the textbook wasn't necessary.
Avoid him, he is very disorganized and unprofessional.
worst professor i have ever had in all my years at york. He is COMPLETELY disorganized. He tells us he's disappointed by test grades yet when he tried to answer a MC question asked he got it WRONG - WHO ARE WE LEARNING FROM THEN IF HE GOT IT WRONG!!!! he is unprofessional, doesnt care about his students success - do not take him if u want to learn
he doesn't know what hes saying. i'd give him a 0 if i could. BIOL is my best course and i almost failed., very rude, completely inaccessible, doesnt care about his students - when i had a mental health crisis and asked for help he didnt bother-when i asked for an extra lab/extra time due to recurring panic attacks, he didnt care - no sorry
Worst professor. Extremely boring and poor quality lectures. Does not care at all about the students, views himself higher than everyone in the class. Exams focus on the tinniest details. Asked about an enzyme that was talked about for a minute in class as a short answer question on a midterm. Avoid at all costs.
All over the place. Too heavy on Chemistry. Rude. Not teaching an 1st year level entrance Biology course. No textbook but sooo many readings- confusing on what is required. Not clear in actual teaching of concepts because he adds so many details. Condescending manner makes students not want to ask for help.
he is the worst prof/teacher i have ever had, he is so unorganized (he will start to talk about a subject then jump back and forth to different subjects), he has no structure to his teaching (just speaks whats on his mind with no textbooks or something to relate to), he uses specific and difficult questions. I want to keep going but i have no room
He continuously jumps from one unrelated subject to another. Falling behind in this course? Do yourself and OSAP a favour by dropping out. This course will plummet your GPA. Avoid at all cost!
it is impossible to listen to his lectures and not get lost. he is teaching a level 1000 course but he forgets that all the time and rambles on and on until someone asks him to stop. he has a very disorgenized way of teaching.
Very good professor, one of my favourite. Listen to lecture and take notes and you will do amazing. The students that are saying he is hard are clearly not trying or doing the bare minimum. Classes are very realistic and based on real life scenarios. You will use everything you learn in the future.
He's probably the best thing you could have as a professor in the life/health sciences. Tough, unforgiving, and expects you to figure it out. He prepares you really well for your future career, but his class isn't a walk in the park.
1) very unorganized 2) doesn't provide guides for students on which topics to study 3) lectures are awful, long, bearing, and it feels like he does not bother to do good lectures. Overall, not a very good professor but if you can handle a bad professor like him take the course. Otherwise, run.
He stated from the very first class that information would be given out to students during his lectures so, if you pay attention to what he says then you are good to go. But his lectures consist of a lot of information so be ready to study. I ended up with good result since I followed through with his lectures. Plus, his slides are cool!
He's very disorganized, and inconsistent with email responses. The disorganization is so bad to the point where it actually affects his teaching, where he cannot stick to a topic without branching off to another million. He does seem nice and approachable, though.
The most messy and disorganized professor ever! DO NOT TAKE
You can tell that he is passionate and knowledgable but he is just a bad professor. His lectures are disorganized, the eclass page is disorganized, he himself is disorganized. Avoid if you can.
Disorganized. Lectures for the week are posted mid-late week. Lab assignments were concentrated near the end of the course. Quiz questions are vague and confusing at times. Lab procedures given often different from what you actually do. Expects you to already be an expert in the lab.
He has potential, but sadly, he does not take teaching very seriously. I hope he becomes more organized and starts taking a better attitude toward teaching. I do wish I could see him at his best, but I can barely keep up as it is. Due to the mental suffering I have endured, I cannot say he is good at the moment. Until he improves, this is my review
Please do not make the same mistake that I did. If this professor is the only one instructing cell bio, drop the course immediately and take it in the summer w a better prof. Take another elective to fulfill your full course load if thats a concern. Disorganized, difficulty teaching and learnt nothing. Waste of $715 for nothing. I can't believe it.
This prof is the most unorganized prof I've ever had at york. He is all over the place in lectures and has no idea how to use technology. an example of this is how he changed the course curriculum by removing iCicker marks since he can't use the app at all and says its the internet's fault while the class can connect just fine. DO NOT TAKE!!!
Worst professor to ever exist. Idk where tf he got his phd from. He is so unorganized and confused He doesn't know what he is doing 99% of the time. He brings notes with him to class (probably written by someone else) and reads them in class. If someone asks him something he makes shit up and recorrect it after he gets home. DON'T TAKE THIS PROF.
Dr. Michael Gadsden is a brilliant cell biology educator. His lectures inspire curiosity, and his passion for the subject is contagious. He simplifies complex concepts. Those who find him "awful" likely didnt put in enough effort to grasp the material. Dr. Gadsden's dedication transforms students into cell biology enthusiasts! Highly recommend.
Dr. Gadsden is the most disorganized professors I have ever had the misfortune of having. He doesn't have a clear lecture guide, he just talks until the time runs out. He randomly blurts out ideas from topics we already finished in previous lectures. He teaches so little yet puts so much on tests. He was PROUD of a 60% average. Do not take him.
This professor is highly disorganized in terms of the content that is being taught. There is no coherency and very little effort is put into the lecture slides which consist of images from the textbook. I would not recommend taking him to any class.
Just do yourself the favour and listen to the reviews. Do not take this professor. Save your time, save your money, save your GPA. This course was a complete disaster. Lectures were a mess, some test questions made absolutely no sense, and you will learn nothing. This is coming from a straight A student.
Lectures were extremely disorganized, unintelligible writing and scribbles. Often gets confused, forgets, and disregards figure captions saying: "I should've said that...whatever." Multiple lecture decks used in 1 lecture. Extremely discouraging, critiques students frequently for not knowing. Tests really difficult for the quality of teaching.
Doesn't put effort into teaching, unfortunately completely ruined biology for me. I'm a straight A student and ignored these reviews, please don't make this mistake. I haven't learned a single thing from his class, the best way to put it is he simply doesn't teach or explain anything properly. York needs to look into his classes. Unacceptable.
trust the reviews and dont take this class w him. dont B like me.
The professor is very DISORGANIZED. The lecture slides consist of images from the textbook and NOTHING else, no words, headings, points, etc. Even though the slides are images from the textbook, he says not to rely on textbook and rely on lectures. So prepare to study from slides that are empty, have no direction, and oh yea, the textbook is useless
Dr. Michael Gadsden is a remarkable teacher with innovative methods. Though his style may be tough, the course requires dedication. He's an excellent communicator, eager to aid students. Highly knowledgeable and approachable, he cares about student success. An outstanding educator and I highly recommend him to any biology student.
He is a man who has displayed a lamentable lack of communication skills, resulting in a failure to cover the necessary course material in a timely and effective manner. This is an unfortunate state of affairs that reflects poorly on the professor in question, as well as on the academic institution as a whole. Difficult/confusing tests. Avoid!!!
He is the worst. He will end us off once and for all on the finals. If you love a course and want to hate it, take it with him. I really tried to like him, but he just sucks. The questions are unfair.
He claims that a non-linear approach allows for better learning when in reality this method only works if the base knowledge is taught and can be built on. He is all over the place, constantly corrects himself and is inconsistent. Even with 12+ hrs of revision per week and attending every lecture, it is difficult to succeed. Would not recommend
An incredibly disorganized professor who bases his tests off of his very poor lectures. The lectures are completely incoherent half the time and he often spends the class time fiddling with the computer. His tests are totally unfair compared to the information presented in class, yet he tells us not to worry about the textbook. Do not take with him
Trust the reviews, if you take him you are wasting your time, money, and grade. It does not seem like he is prepared for what he will teach. Simply looks at the diagram and starts saying things. To give you a better image it looks like a middle school/high school student giving a presentation on a random topic with a bunch of random information.
Imagine you ask someone the direction to a place you've never been before and they show you a ZOOMED out map and say "oh yea, don't forget to turn left" and "I went there before''. You have NO idea where you are in relation to the final destination - that's how this prof teaches (slides with no figures, no headings, NO direction) (1)
I am literally trying my best to get an A+ in this course but he makes it impossible. I am failing midterms. He cannot teach simple as that.
I never met a more disorganized person in my life. Maybe its old age and feeble-mindedness, or hes always been like this, but most of the time he mumbles incoherent words and jumps back from one topic to another. Wont shut up about his life and dentures. Brags about failure rates. He's a pick-me prof who should have retired when the cold war ended.
unclear lecture slides w/ only IMAGES, NO CAPTIONS NO HEADINGS NO EXPLANATIONS. Slides are sometimes uploaded the day/s after he discussed those topics which is very hard to keep up. Expects us to learn and watch youtube videos they COULD BE on the tests. Unorganized eclass site, unclear grading system and DOES NOT follow the course syllabus
By far the worst professor I have ever had in my life. EXTREMELY disorganized. It really does not matter how much time you invest into this class, he has set his students up for failure. It is pretty much a self taught course. Please listen to the reviews and do not make the same mistakes we did. Your GPA, time & money will thank u.
Do not take this course. I never experienced depression or any mental illness until I have taken this course. He expects you to know the material before he even teaches it. His notes look like random lines on a page. Worst Prof and I repeat do not take this course with this prof!!!
worst prof ever! he is all over the place and when in lecture, he would always says, "i should really look at my notes". like he is not sure what he is saying at all! and it's even hard to teach yourself too! he doesn't follow the outline and he always says the textbook is wrong and he is right... i listen to him but i still get marked wrong...
Dr.G isn't really as bad as the other reviews say he is. You can tell he's really passionate about what he teaches and is pretty chill. It's better to read the textbook to make notes instead of just relying on his lectures since its mostly diagrams. But his tests are actually fair game if you don't make the mistake of cramming the night before.
Dr. Gadsden is a highly educated professor who is passionate about his biology teachings. As a student who stopped taking science courses after grade 10, Dr. Gadsden's NATS 1660 course made me super invested and amazed by biology fundamentals. His quizzes/tests/exams are directly from his lecture teachings, thus, this makes his class easy to pass.
I like how the previous review is basically saying "he's not a bad prof, you just need to teach yourself the course." This prof is beyond terrible. No organization in his teaching, goes off-topic talking about irrelevant personal stories, and resorts you to watch youtube videos instead of teaching particular topics. What's the point of him?
Dr.Gadsden is a great person and is definitely smart, but the lectures are disorganized causing you to rely heavily on the textbook to put together the pieces of his lectures. Whenever he talks about a topic he often doesn't finish his idea which gets really confusing when trying to understand the concepts. Take it with a different prof if you can!
When going to the lab section my TA was very rude so I switched labs (before the deadline). The next lab the Professor Gadsden spent around 15 minutes yelling at me and insulting me for doing it, telling me I was unprofessional & immature. He then informed me that despite York allowing us to switch lab sections, I would lose marks for it. Run.
I thought Professor Gadsden was a great professor. The course material was challenging and heavy, but this is an expectation of cell biology. Professor Gadsden had good explanations, took time to answer questions, put together extra material for students to refer to and provided midterm/exam review sheets. Thank you for a great term!
The problem is, the prof taught this course SO many times that everything is second nature to the prof. So the material is NOT explained at all. The prof forgets material too, so lectures were jumping from one topic to another and then back without solidifying anything learned. And learning does not occur like that at all.
Disrespectful prof, literally doesn't know how to teach, would constantly run off topic. This prof will basically set you for failure. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Do not take this profs class, I took biol 2070 with him this summer and he is the worst professor I have ever had. Terrible lectures, expects students to know everything he knows. Recordings are terrible, very lecture heavy.
Not good with tech, expects students to know everything, rude.
Incompetent with technology. Not even suppose to teach the course.
An awful professor who's stuck in the 1980's.
Unprofessional, expects students to know everything, lectures are not good, technical difficulties, course design is confusing and overwhelming.
I do not recommend taking courses with him. He is disorganized and random, tests are super advanced version of what he is teaching in the class. Good thing is he puts extra work for bonus marks and at least he replies back to emails within 3-4 days. If u took 2070 with him attend all the lectures to get a good mark. He is knowledgeable
Doesn't teach well but at least the exams and midterms were fair, be ready to self-study. You can't really fail 2070 if you attend the labs and are somewhat competent
Very generous professor. Provided a lot of oppertunity for extra credit (up to 6% on your final mark!). Lectures were engaging but the class was often disorganized.
The content presentation was cluttered and disorganized - annotations on top of the slides were a bit hard to follow which made reviewing notes a little hectic but it was doable. That aside, lectures are alright despite many technological issues, and the extra credit opportunities were a true saving grace to excel in the course.
Overall, not the worst prof but needed improvements. His lecture teaching is indeed scattered along with syllabus (he doesn't have a weekly schedule/readings posted). Records lectures in-person and whatever missed, he recorded. He considered nurs students' clinical schedules for testing and ultimately put the tests online to accommodate everyone.
He is a very generous individual when it comes to marks. He will give you plenty of marks to boost up your average. One thing I really appreciate him doing are the Zoom recordings via his laptop while he was in-person. This would allow me to go back to listen to this lectures when needed. .
I took him in Winter 2023 and he was honestly the most unorganized professor I have ever had. Yes he was a nice person, but was not a great professor. He would jump from different PowerPoint presentations and fully skipped the cancer portion of the course. After taking his course I thoroughly believe he left me unprepared for upper level courses.
Professor has some organization issues, but the extra credit opportunities and fair exams make up for it. Unstuckstudy AI proved helpful for class prep.
Professor Gadsden did not write very clear, his lectures can become very confusing due to how he discribes the information of the lecture. His vibe was really aggressive towards the class with his tone. He would not be able to provide clear descriptions.
Took 3150 over the summer and really enjoyed the course. I loved his lectures and the material was really interesting. His tests were super fair, he was nice, but my one complaint is how unorganized his course website is. I hear lots of complaints about his teaching in other 2nd year courses, but I would recommend taking him for microbio!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! He is the worst professor I've ever encountered. He's incredibly chaotic and disorganized, impossible to follow and will make you waste hours detangling the information he throws at you. I have to google everything because he gives messy and unclear definitions of every concept. It is truly hell and I wish I could drop it.
unorganized and flip flops in lecture. All my classmates don't like him but this course is mandatory and he is the only teacher teaching this course so, you're cooked. read the articles. disrespectful towards nurses in nursing homes saying "pay attention unless you want to be handling bedpans for the rest of your life". no enough time for tests.
He will go off-topic a lot. Dr.Gadsden will intensely explain material not needed for future tests or assignments. Either then he will give clear instructions on his tests and assignments, but would never take one of his classes again.
I took microbio with him over the summer! Loved the class with him, he's very knowledgable! i was afraid to take this class with him bc everyone was complaining about him in BIOL 2070. his tests were a bit challenging but the exam was fair game. Labs were fun but def required A LOT of work.If u put in the effort & do well on the labs, you'll be fine
worst prof I've had at york. it took him 4 weeks to get through one powepoint of 70 slides. instead of putting stuff on his slides , he makes new empty slides and writes on them. very very very disorganized. also he wastes your time by teaching for 1h30 in person then records two 45 min lectures for you to watch at home.
EXTREMELY unorganized. Makes rude comments in class. The midterms and final exam are not too difficult but the course content is very heavy. Short answer marks depend completely on the TA's mood. I can appreciate how knowledgeable and passionate he is but he needs major improvement in teaching and organizing.
RUN! RUN!RUN! he was very rude toward students. He is very unorganized, looking at e class was very difficult so many unnecessary stuff. His tests were extremely difficult and he asked for way too much in such little time. He also goes off topic very often and expects us to know things. I would not recommend to ANYONE, he should retire.
let me tell you, as soon as you see this review RUN close your computer don't even bother. DO NOT choose him unless you want to SUFFER.
Most terrible prof I have ever had. He is extremely disorganized and always switching between lecture slides (which barely ever have text on them) and writing on blank slides in illegible handwriting. His lectures and recordings were hard to follow and he always wanted us to read articles unrelated to the material.
Hand writing is absolutely horrendous. Teaches the same thing each lecture and takes 5 months to go through one slideshow because he constantly feels the need to start new slides. Expects students to know everything, but yet teaching methoods are horrible.Videos as his way of teaching, doesnt engage with the class, talks AT them not TOO them.
Takes random attendance marks. Lectures always started with article that would make it confusing. Lectures were also kinda disorganized that sometimes I have no idea what we're talking about or finding it hard to connect info. Just read the textbook. He records lectures. Finals wasn't the worst, since a lot of questions was similar to midterms.
He is very strict and never give a second chance to students .
Others here are honestly disrespectful. He is indeed disorganized and need some improvements but def not the worst. Just put in a lot of effort and you'll be fine, attend his lectures and study. He is nice, replies to emails fast, gives out exam guides which you can use to study & very generous with grades(gives lots of chances to up your grades)
The course itself wasn't difficult, but the professor was very behind in teaching the material. For reference, we were going through slides for week 5 while being on week 10. Despite that, I think he explained well and he did respond to emails. IMO you don't need the lectures to do well in the course, but attendance is mandatory
He is messy, but he doesn't make the tests hard. If you put in the work, you can get a good mark.
he will make u feel like u have 0 brain cells, super unorganized, makes the final exam out of 103 with 6 short answer questions, writes chicken scratch blank slideshows and acts like it's teaching but nobody can even understand what he is doing. he acts like 2nd year students have the biology knowledge of phd students.
useless bro absolute useless will make ur tests "online" and make the final in person worth 103 marks with no outline or guidance. Cannot even write properly, the slides are H O R R I B L E like you will understand nothing... super super super unorganized.
