As a History major who has taken courses with many of the professors in this department I can tell you that you should only take a class with him if you absolutely have to. Even then you probably shouldn''t. Had gotten As and Bs in all of my History classes until taking one with him. Ended up with two Fs and my GPA has been destroyed forever.

The class added a lot to my outlook on life, I really got to see the struggles of some of the great men of history and how human they were. However, if you're less smart than average or just wanna skate through your classes, skip this one.

I would not recommend him if you are not a history major as you will find he is a pretty tough grader on specifics. He makes a ton of jokes that makes most of us laugh, and he is a fallout fan so he gets extra points for me. Overall would take him again.

Dr. Gambone makes sitting through a 1.5 hour class fun. He often lets us out early, which is a big relief. His class isn't hard if you take it seriously, and he gives an option of multiple choice tests or essays. Take the essays. I'm pretty bad at history in general, but his class is easy if you work for it.

Dr. Gambone is seriously awesome. He's hilarious in class, and he makes literally every little tidbit of Latin American history sound amazing which makes it all that much easier to learn from him. You HAVE to do the readings every week because he assigns quizzes. He is a tough grader, but he is worth it if you involve yourself with the material.

Half the time he doesn't even talk about the material, you'll find him trying to relate the material to something in todays world and then he gets completely off topic. Before the semester started and I saw the reviews for Prof. Gambone. I thought it may have just been history being hard for people, this was not why he had bad reviews.
