This professor is a joke. His grading is out of this world. He gives SO much work for just a 3 credit MBA Course. On any given week you will have at least 7 assignments, all of which he locks until Thursday night @ 11:59pm. You have until Monday night to complete them. Avoid at all costs!!!! However, I'm pretty sure he's the only Prof. for MBA 606.

Guiry is very disrespectful. He does not care about his students and does not go out of his way to be caring and helpful for his student like a professor should. Do not choose him as a professor, it is not worth it. He is extremely rude and not approachable at all. People like him should not be professors or be around people.

Guiry is the perfect example of a professor that does not understand that students are not professionals with decades of experience. He will take points off of anything that is not exactly what he thinks is right, even if it is. Hardest grader I have had in college and it is a marketing ELECTIVE. Also incredibly disrespectful to students.

Multiple groups projects, multiple individual assignments, two to three quizzes per week, strict grading. You will read two books cover to cover and will be required to recall minute details. Very specific in his grading criteria and will give detailed reviews of your work. Expect to hustle, this class will not come easy. You have been warned.

Extremely harsh grader. I am an A student usually. He will doc points for everything. I work full time and he requires you to post discussion posts over a 3 day period. To do the discussion posts you have to read close to 100 pages. Every night after work I was working on this class for hours. His PowerPoints are extremely dry and boring as well.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is awful. If you send him an email, he will answer like you are dumb. I took him for internship credit. Also, the final paper is 10 pages long.

DO NOT take Dr. Guiry for Principles of Marketing. Just don't. 100+ slide PowerPoints that still don't manage to cover each textbook chapter as well as boring lectures where he just reads directly from his slides. So thankful attendance isn't mandatory for this class because I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to him talk.

He is a awful Professor. He sets you up for failure. Do NOT take a single one of his courses would be the worst mistake you made!

One thing about this Professor is he decides not to answer his emails after he knows he is wrong. I guess him going to Duke makes him too good for us. He is so rude to students, thinks he is perfect and doesn't make mistakes and he doesn't care about his students getting a passing grade.

If there was a movie with a evil professor Michael R Guiry is that. He is a terrible professor. He loves to see students fail. It seems his life goal is to see students get bad grades and not succeed. NEVER and I mean NEVER take his course. STAY away from him and DONT make the same MISTAKE that I made being with him.

I hated Guiry's MKT250 class so much and will never take him again. These reviews are spot on. He forces you to memorize every single detail from the textbook for the exams - it's the only way to get a good grade on them. You need to be committed to note-taking in his class or you will not get an A, period. Dry person, monotone lectures. Avoid.

Very boring professor, not engaging in the least bit. Reads directly from slides, and then hands out packets for class work, with very little instructions. I would not recommend him as a professor, and i would avoid taking him at all cost.

Unrealistic amount of work for FTE. Grading joke. DO NOT OVERPOST OR UNDERPOST. Within 7 weeks expect to go thru 1 book for quizzes and 1 textbook for the remainder. Expect no real interaction unless it is during grading - He will write an essay to you with advice you can't use for other assignments. TAKE MBA606 with LIZ WANG. You have been warned.

Unreasonable amount of work for a 3 creditde. Got an A but cannot say I learned anything Very heavy in group projects. This is a virtual class - everyone has busy lives and are working professionals. Grades should not be dependent on group projects when some students have real working careers and others have too much free time. Steer clear

He is a horrible teacher. Does not care about student's disabilities. He will give you feedback on assignments if you email him before the deadline and the comments are blatantly rude, he makes you sound dumb, and he is a horrible person. He does not deserve to be teaching at such a great school.

Do not take him. Literally take an 8 am class over this one. I have never had a professor who is so rude before. He gives out harsh grades and sets unrealistic expectations.

Professor Guiry is not only the hardest grader i have taken in my 4 years here at West Chester, but he is also the least clear about why he gave out a grade. He constantly grades hard and refuses to give any logical reason why. DO NOT ever take this professor. Dont waste your time. (this is all coming from a 3.8 GPA student). worst teacher ever.

As a student who did well in the class, this was a horrible experience. He grades as if we've been in marketing for years. There's more than one way to conduct marketing research, but if it's not the way he likes or agrees with, his grading will reflect it. Also, be ready to write ALOT. If there's other professors for this class, take them.

He is one of the worst professors at West Chester, never take him. He only lectures, minimal class participation. The most uninteresting professor in class he will put you to sleep. Only good thing is that exams are open note but it's not worth it.

He is the worst professor I've had in 4 years at West Chester. Not only are the lectures extremely boring but he is so rude. He won't help you if you reach out, it's like he wants his students to fail. The material itself isn't difficult but there are several unnecessary assignments that are very time-consuming. DON'T TAKE HIM!

This guy is extremely rude and doesn't care about his students. He assigns proctored exams over weekends and is completely inaccessible by email, so if you're having tech problems with the mandatory "Proctorio" spyware, you're on your own. You have to buy the textbook/homework software, plus a separate homework software for simulations.

Very rude, does not care about his students at all.. not understand and even if you have a .99999999 he will not round up. His exams are super hard and Proctor.

I've had this professor for other class and he was a pretty basic professor with straightforward things, however after this class I won't take him anymore. He is such a tough grader on the few things he gives you for work. So if you don't do well on the three assignments all semester you're done. He is so annoying lol I would steer clear seriously.

So much information and details every single week. Very tough grader. Expects every little detail to be correct and there is no room for error or you're penalized. Also had to pay not only for textbook but for an online simulation as well. Highly suggest any other professor. You wont enjoy your semester with him. Doesn't have feel.

WORST PROFESSOR. Incredibly rude. Let him know I was having a hard time with an assignment and that I needed some guidance in some emails and he called me a complainer and insulted my intelligence. Takes FOREVER to reply to emails, up to an entire week, even when its about quickly approaching assignments. Seriously, avoid at all costs!!!!

Prof. Guiry is rude, and not understanding of any circumstances. He treats his class as if it is the only course we are taking. His lectures are beyond boring. The tests are relatively easy if you complete his 8-10 page study guide that he emails a few days before the test. By far the worst professor I have had at WCU unfortunately.

He is the worse professor I have ever had in my life. He has bad reviews from his students, doesn't respond in a timely manner, and is very inconsiderate. Stay clear, literally take ANY OTHER PROF. for this class.

45 percent of assignments for individual grading is taken off by this rude professor, as he has bias towards the well qualified educated individual. Once he and one more professor of Leadership course, they target the individual and assign 0 and make sure you fail

By far the worst professor I have had while studying for my MBA. Extremely rude in email responses and won't approve a one day extension unless someone you know is dying. Would nitpick and complain about every project I worked on and submitted. A disgrace to WCU, take any other teacher if you can.

This professor has mastered the art of providing an unnecessary amount of busy work. There are weekly quizzes (sometimes 2/week) around 30-40 questions per quiz, and individual/group assignments. The amount of work due each week is uncalled-for, especially given this is a graduate course for folks with full time jobs. Avoid taking is possible.

Everything was set from the beginning of the semester with no changes. Doesn't respond to emails unless you spam him just to get an answer basically telling you to F off. If I could give him a 0, I would. He gave unnecessary quizzes every week, and even though I took notes for 3 hours from the 200 slide slideshows and textbook chapters that were assigned each week, I, and others, would fail the 2 tests given each week (50% of grade). The class average would be failing every week. He is also not helpful with emails.

Just to start off, he is probably the WORST proffesor you could have at west Chester university. He gives the college such a bad rep. PLEASE never take him. If you want to take a class where you just sit in the lecture and learn nothing, also while listening to yapping about random things, by all means go ahead. RUN. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. PLEASE.

He gives unnecessary quizzes each week giving 2 per week one being 10-12 questions and the other 40-50 questions. He does not actually teach in the lecture, just talks about random things. Gives in class paper exercises that no one in the class understands how to do because he did not teach it. You don't learn actual marketing with him.

I don't think anyone even watches the videos after the first couple weeks. Most of the marketing he teaches is common sense (e.g customer service is important, something we know). If you simply guess answers or look up stuff, you'll get a solid B. If you want to sacrifice your mental insanity and spend hours taking notes to get an A, be my guest.

This guy has no idea what he's doing. He takes the quantity over quality approach to teaching. Newsflash Dr. Guiry: nobody is actually learning anything from your class when you assign 400 pages of reading, 60 question quizzes, and excessively intricate nitpicky papers every single week. Do not take this man, and West Chester: make him retire.

basically teaching myself marketing at this point. he spends the entire lecture talking about nonsense. went to him for help when i was struggling with the ridiculous textbook quizzes and he told me that 'he wishes there was a magic potion i could drink to make me understand but i should probably just read the text again'. ok. thanks.

All he does is yap about nonsense during the lectures. He also puts information in the ridiculous textbook quizzes that have nothing to do with the course material. He acts like we have been doing Marketing for years. He also wonders why none of us raise our hand to participate. That is because all he is doing is yapping about nonsense.

You do not learn marketing especially because the class in blended going in person is a waste of time he is insufferable and bluntly rude to students. The quizes are weekly make no sense, slide shows are 200 + slides, we do a stimtership kept giving me horrible grades, stukent quizes as well. Not even being dramatic take this is someone else !

Please do not take Prof. Guiry if you want to learn. He lectures on random marketing related current events the whole class period, and then assigns 2-4 homework assignments a week that you need to read the online textbook to understand. No exams, and no attendance mandatory, however he is a extremely hard grader who gives very hard assignments.

This was one of the most dreadful classes for me. All this man does is yap about random marketing current events the entire lecture and didn't actually teach the concepts of marketing. He gives paper class exercises that nobody understands how to do because he doesn't actually teach the material. WCU this man is way overdue for retirement!

I've taken my undergrad and now am finishing up on graduate school here at West Chester, and by far, this is THE worst professor I have ever had. There is no learning in this class. He assigns volumes of reading, busy work, and quizzes that are impossible. Grading is harsh. Do not take this teacher if you can.

Mind you i am currently taking a INTERNSHIP course! A internship i found on my own! I paid for this class solely to get the credit. He gave me a zero percent on an assignment even though i told him i didnt start my internship in may, his excuse was i couldve told him sooner but i didnt know the timing was going to effect my grade on the assignment

This is the worst professor I've ever had. He expects you to read 400 pages of material every week (no exaggeration). He nitpicks at everything. The quizzes are impossible and not to mention 50+ questions. Sometimes twice a week. I did not learn anything in this course. There is a thing called information overload!

This professor is by far one of the worse here at West Chester. Everything is self taught and you have to do on your own. He doesn't post the assignments into a whole day after class. His test and quizzes are every week but he wont post the grade until weeks later. He gets off topic so easy. Overall not a good professor!!

Waste of my time wasn't helpful in any way this semester and when I contacted him for help he guided me to other sources

Wrote dozens of emails to this professor about work because I transferred into class late. Took him weeks to reply. When he did he said that I can't make up work. Emailed him again a month later because I never got another response and he said he addressed the topic. Which makes no sense. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PROFESSOR. He doesn't care about students

I absolutely hated this class and the professor. Actually going to class- which I didn't do much of- was a total snooze-fest. This man reads off of slides that are posted online anyways and never stops talking. Also, the work that's due at the end of the week isn't available during the class but the day after. Try a different professor for MKT250.
