i dont know how he became a comm teacher cuz he cant speak well or lecture. but its an easy class with NO hw, couple assignments, easy grader. study for occasional tests tho they are harder then u expect from this chill class. Attendance counts

Definitely get him if you can. Almost never assigns HW, he grades easy, is extremely laid-back, tells good stories, tests can be tricky, but you should have no trouble getting a good grade.

Mike is cool! He's a good guy from Jersey, excited about getting married, and easy as heck! Good guy, easy teacher, no homework, few assignments that are easily graded, and study for the tests! EASY A!

If you fail this class...you should drop out of school. I thought I had a C on a speech and I ended up with a 94. He's an awesome guy too, I would def recommend taking him.

Mike is pretty cool. Very few hw assignments! He always lets you out of class at least 15mins, This is the easiest GCom class ever, take it if you can!

This class is great. He's fun to have as a professor. He likes to go off on tangents and just talk with his students. Tests aren't bad if you read the book, and his grading is pretty easy/fair on speeches and stuff. Not too much hw either. Recommended

Great guy -the class is kinda boring sometimes. Fair grader -just do the assignments and you'll be fine. Read the chapters or you'll be screwed on the final.

Everybody I know has horror stories about their GCOM teachers but this guy is awesome! easy grading, fairly informal, moderately hard tests...READ...lectures can be kind of vague at times.

Make sure to read the chapters before taking any tests in this class. He is a very easy grader on papers and speeches.

This guy is pretty dense - unenthusiastic about being in class - but I must say, for the amount of work I did, and the grade I got, the guy rocks - easy easy A - just read the book and bs your way through a speech and you're golden.

I guess the fact that he doesn't try to screw you over says something. Laid back class, not terribly easy, but nothing hard.

mike is understanding and soo easy. just look over the exam reviews for the midterm and final and you'll be set. the "papers" and speeches are simple and he basically gives you an A for doing the work.

This class is such a joke. Mike is so laid back and cool, even brings his dog to class. 1 group, 1 individual speech; most classes have 3 or 4. The 2 papers are soo easy, only 1 page. All the assignments are very relevant-analyzing movies and ads; even the book is somewhat interesting. Very easy A.

Extremely easy A. Very little work and very easy grading. In a speech that was supposed to be 5 min long I talked for 3 and still got an A on the speech. WAAAAAAY too easy!

Easy A. Funny guy. Will cut you slack if you notify him ahead of time. Not exactly exciting material, but easy class to drag yourself to.

easy class, super funny prof. definitely lets things slide if you talk to him about it. tests are hard. he says if you study for them you'll get an A, but i never got above an 85 and studied alot.

Good fun class! Take him and if you get a class like mine you'll just crack up the entire time! 2 speechs(grades easy), 2 tiny tests that are really like quizzes, couple 1-2 page papers that he really doesnt grade hard on! Overall best class I had this semester!

Mike is definitely one of the coolest professors out there... if you're taking a class that he has a section of, don't wait any longer... he doesn't really take attendance, and isn't as strict as the syllabus says he will be. taking anyone else for gcom would be a terrible mistake...

Definately take this class. The semester is not even over yet and I am already reccomending him so people will take him next semester. My favorite class by far. He always lets you out early, not very strict on the attentdance, a couple very small papers (around a page), 2 tests and 2 projects. I actually look forward to going to this class.

DEFINITELY try to take him for GCOM123. He's an awesome teacher, very helpful. He is very chill and entertaining.

Def take him if you can...he adds jokes into class to kinda lighten it up and make it go by quicker...very friendly and nice

Mike is a nice, funny guy. Jokes around with us a lot. He's really lenient about due dates. Only annoying thing is that he babbles during lecture. What could have taken 10 minutes usually takes an hour. Sometimes you wonder why you went to class..kinda seems pointless after awhile.

Really nice guy. He is funny and makes some of the classes very interesting. However, it's GCOM and most of it is common sense so it can be boring sometimes. He is an easy grader and loves to talk. If you want to just take it easy than TAKE HIM ! GOOD CLASS !

Class is really easy. He relates everything to college students. Need to study really hard for the final since not much is taught in class.

This class was very easy. Mike is a great guy, really funny and easy going. Projects and assignments are easy too. GCOMM material is extremely boring, but Mike made it somewhat entertaining.

mike was a really nice and funny teacher, he tells alot of stories.he grades easy on the speeches and the other assignments and this class doesnt require much effort. attendence isnt mandatory and only had 2 tests, the final was hard though but it is for everyone so..you wont actually learn that much about gcom but the class was super easy!

mike is a funny guy and has great stories. I don't really care a/b gcom...but professor gulotta makes the class somewhat interesting by how he explains stuff; he's very understanding of college students.

Mike is a great teacher! He is there for you to help if you need help with ANYTHING! His stories are very entertaining! He's a great person and I would recommend his class to anyone. There isn't a lot of work either and the 2 exams are difficult, but all the GCOM classes have the same tests, so you can't hide from those.

He is a pretty good teacher. The class is really easy. There are only two tests all year, a midterm and the final. And, there are only two presentations all year. There are some other little assignments, but they are easy to complete. He lectures a lot, but he keeps the lectures fun by going off on rants about his past. He is a funny guy.

Class is so easy! Two presentations a semester with lots of extra credit. He is hilarious and tells tons of stories relating to you. If you can take Mike, do it!

Best teacher at JMU! Only two speeches, 2 tests, a final, and a couple other little things. I hate speeches and am horrible at it, but still got an A on my speech. He's hilarious, doesnt care if you are in class or not, jokes around and acts like hes still a teenager. you HAVE to take this guy!

Mike is THE best! Like others have said, hes not that organized, but the class is SUPER easy. He says he takes attendance..he doesnt. I missed at least one class a week and I still ended up with a B+. The only hard part of the class are the random test questions. but other than that, the class is super easy! deffffinitely take mike!

I LOVED this class. I have a terrible fear of public speaking but found giving the 2 speeches really easy due to Professor Gulotta. He talks about his personal life a lot and the class is really boring but it's so easy and he is hilarious. The tests are tricky but he is an easy speech grader. TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Easy class. Powerpoints are simple and he posts them on blackboard..but not until later in the semester. Gulotta really likes to talk about his newborn and what he does in his free time. There is minimum homework and when he grades it he gives it a check mark just because you did it. Takes attendance in beginning but stops after about 2 weeks.

A great teacher. He uses humor and stories to make the more dull parts of the material interesting. He is an easy grader and youre guaranteed to love his teaching style.

Not the best teacher if you want to be prepared for the final. Definitely going to have to study on your own and use the book. Recommended!

He's very nice and funny, and going to his class isn't terrible. It also isn't mandatory. His class is actually very easy. But in terms of preparation for the final, that's really going to be on you if you have Mike; you have to do a lot of self-teaching. But it's really easy concepts so this isn't really an issue.

4 speeches total, no exams. The guy is a story-teller and will certainly share some epic tales of his "non-sober" experiences. Easy grader on presenting speeches as long as you take it seriously, prepare, and have a well-written speech.

Easy Class, Good Professor. Hilarious! Class isn't too bad, usually tells a story about his college friends. If you want a good laugh, and a easy-going class, with "rolling" deadlines, this is your guy!

Best teacher. Lets be real; giving speeches suck! This guy however makes it so much more less painful. He creates an environment that can de-nerve u and he gives you the time to do it right, This class is mandatory for the major so take it with him its worth it.

Easiest professor I had at JMU. At the start he says attendance is mandatory, but stops taking it after a few weeks. The presentations are ridiculously easy, I don't know of a group that didn't get an A on the presentations. The final and the mid-term are the only things that could stop you from getting an A. He is a funny man with alot of stories
