He is an excellent professor.He knows his stuff and how to teach it. Though a Summer Accounting class can be challenging he tried his best to make the students undersatnd the material. His teaching style is very organized and methodical. You should be ready to work and will indeed get a good grade.

I took Intermediate Acccounting I with him. He is a great teacher and is very knowledgable on the subject. You work hard for the grade that you get but you learn a lot. My only regret is that I didn't put enough time into the class. He is probably one of the best accounting teachers at MC.

Mr. Guerevitz is a pretty cool guy. I'd take one of his courses again. If your having trouble with the course but he see's that your putting in alot of effort he'll be reasonable. Accounting is a very hard subject but Mr Gurevitz does an excellent job making it as easy as possible. Grade consists of 3 tests, online homeworks, and quizzes after every test. I highly recommend him. Accounting is a long class but he keeps it interesting so it doesnt feel so long. RECOMMENDED

This is the best accounting teacher at Montgomery College, and he is particularly excellent at getting you through intermediate which is the key course. He goes the extra mile to explain difficult concepts. His after hours prep sessions are extremely valuable. His exams are challenging but fair.

It's a dry subject and it's very tough, but he presents it about as well as anyone can. He doesn't mince words and explains things slowly and carefully. I'd have to say he's one of the best professors I've ever had. He's always prepared and you can tell that he knows this stuff cold.

I just want to say that accounting is difficult no matter what professor you have. You have to attend class, read and put in more study time than you would for any other class. That being said, professor Guervitz is a wise choice for accounting! He doesn't simply read from the text, he actually breaks the concepts down. Too bad he only teaches 201.

His tests are hard but if you study throughout the class you can get a good grade. You have to put in atleast 20 hours each week to do his homework and study for next session.

Took 201 in Fall of 2013. Accounting isn't hard, but it isn't easy. Study and read the chapters carefully. 3 exams, Wiley, and a couple of quizzes. You have to work hard for the A.

Wow. Sounds like someone got a bad grade. This prof was one of the better at MC. Clear. Covered the material. One of the few I've had who didn't just read powerpoint in class. Spent lot of time on problem solving. True - hard grader and really stupid jokes. But I learned lots. This is a CPA prep course, so I expected it to be hard.

Indeed a tough teacher, but if you are here to prep to CPA, why would you expect something easy? He prepare the course, actually teaches, and share industry experience, never stop anyone from questioning, always answer question in detail. Lots of homework, hard test. But if you do your work, you will learn a lot from him.

Read the book, make outlines, this will help for the multiple choice. He walks you through exercises, helpful for the exercise portion of the exams. Taught us useful acronyms DEAD & COLR. Read read read. Do exercises. Make sure you understand all the terms. Do the practice multiple choice from the book. Go to review sessions. He's a good dude.

As for me, this is the best Professor! I took with him all my accounting classes. Yes, he is tough, his exams are extremely hard, even after reading all chapters at least twice, doing all the homework, wiley, and the practice material he gave, his exam was still not easy to complete. But at the end You Do Know the material! That's what important.

If you want to learn accounting and/or you want to pass the CPA exam then this is a great class. Prof. Gurevitz expects you to read the book, do the practice problems and show up in class each week. He is always available to help during office hours.

Very challenging course, yet the teacher is the reason I believe accounting is for me. Made it very clear how difficult the class would be from day one, but his syllabus provides the exact blueprint that should be followed to not only pass but to actually learn accounting. Repetition is essential - re-read, and even go over the problem sets twice.

I took professor Gurevitz's class about 6 years ago and his class was the foundation I needed for my career. I am now a CPA and currently pursuing my masters in taxation. If you take his class serious you will succeed. Yes, his exams aren't the easiest but just put time outside of class to understand the material and you will ace te class.

Probably the MOST crystal clear professor there is. His lectures are long, loud, and has sarcastic humor, but he knows accounting by heart. I would not say his class is hard, but it's EXTREMELY tedious. There is A TON of homework and studying needed for this class. But, for business majors, he is the perfect professor to get started with. Take him!

Accot is just like STEM classes. U have 2 read n practice ALOT. Keep dat in mind. as a prof hes great. He's organized n lectures are loud and clear. Lectures are very clear. He speaks very clearly and is quite funny, gets off-topic sometimes but always in good spirits. Exams weigh very heavily. Gives lots of homework, but if you keep track of due dates you'll do fine. Very available with office hours.

Prof Gurevitz had amazing lectures. He really made sure we knew the material, but you did have to work on your own to understand the concepts and problems fully. However if you keep up with the Wiley/Orion and the reading you will be fine. He gives you all the tools to succeed, but whether you use them or not is up to you.

Just had his summer class. ACCT is a hard class to take in only 5 weeks. really good clear lectures. Gave lots of practice work to do outside of class. Hard multiple choice exams. Had to do more work in this class than any other class.

I took him for Intermediate Accounting I & II, and I have to say he is one of the best professors I've ever had. He goes above and beyond to help students. Yes, he sets a high bar, and you have to work hard in his class. But he genuinely cares about each student. If you're preparing for CPA exam, his quality of instruction will get you there.

Gurevitz is the best accounting teacher. His lectures never deviate from the syllabus and you always know when each topic will be. You always know what information will be on the exams. ALWAYS DO HIS EXCEL PRACTICE PROBLEMS Keep in mind, ACCT201 is the highest drop class at MC. With any teacher, you will need to work hard and take many exams.

Professor Gurevitz is best in class. I took three classes with him, as I am seeking an Accounting certificate. He is very knowledgeable and, rightfully so, he will make you work for your grades. He is fair and has the best interest of his students at heart. However, if you just want good grades with little work, this is not the class for you.

Accounting is not an easy subject and you definitely have to work for your grade in this class. The professor does a good job of outlining all the class material and what he expects of you. He is very lenient when grading exams and provides enough practice material for each exam. Make sure to practice with Wiley Plus and his worksheets to do well.

Professor Gurevitz is a very organized and hilarious professor. It sucks that classes were forced to move online because his dark humor would make my day. That being said if you want to get a good grade in his class you have to earn it. Accounting 1 is the most failed class at MC so be prepared to do follow his advice on how to succeed.

BEST professor I've had. Knows the ins & outs of accounting. I had him for a 6 week summer course on Zoom classes so it was jam packed but he is extremely clear and thorough. Be prepared for a lot of homework & study the text. Work is tedious but not confusing when he explains it. He works through exercises in class to better understand concepts.

Seems a little gruff at first but is really nice if you talk to him. The only thing I didn't love is that your grade is entirely dependent on 3 exams.

If you can get over the monotone voice you will succeed. A LOT of speaking and his tone doesnt help but he repeats everything 1000 times. He does involve students during practices, he does alot of practice. Gives ample time after learning the material to do homework. And tells you directly whats going to be on the tests. STUDY STUDY!

One of my favorite professors at MC by far! We went through all the material and actually practiced what we were learning. Homework and exams were all online and open note. Never got caught off guard by something that hadn't been covered in class. Class is not mandatory but HIGHLY recommend going, he's a great professor.

The first few chapters are not that bad, but once you get to the middle and toward the end of the semester, the course starts to get arduous. The professor's teaching style is interactive (he asks us questions), he yells throughout the lecture, and he adds in a few stories which helped kept me awake haha. He is extremely organized.

Michael Gurevitz is an IDEAL ACCOUNTING PROFESSOR. Structural, organized, strict, but still VERY humble and HELPFUL. Prof. Gurevitz is just the answer to your future knowledge in accounting. He makes accounting fun. Uses wileyplus, open book exams. NO shortcuts in a class like this, you have to study, but it will be worth it.

Great professor was really engaging in class constantly asking questions to get people involved and bringing in real life examples and hilarious jokes to make the information we're learning interesting. He's very responsive to any questions and extremely helpful after class. Attendance is very important to succeed in class and do the homework!

The professor keeps lectures engaging with real-life examples and humor. Though the course gets difficult, his clear explanations and abundant practice make it manageable. Unstuck ai was a great study aid alongside the textbook.

Your work never interacts with him. So no feedback on anything. He uses Wiley so 70-150$. He is funny and his work is very easy if you show and do the packets. Class is lecture heavy at times/boring but that is most classes. Exams are always online so you know. Overall the packets carry the learning in the class which I enjoy hands on work.

Professor Gurevitz is the best professor in accounting. He is very caring, makes class fun, and he's very funny. I learned a lot from him. PLEASE TAKE HIM!

The class is very hands-on. He dedicates a lot of class time to practice. Lectures can be quick. I recommend reading ahead of time and adding what's missing from his lectures. Use the outlines. He prepares a lot of resources for students. Use them! I cannot express how helpful they were. Additionally, he responds promptly to emails.
