Brother Hales is seriously so awesome! Like when I came into the class I was not excited at all and I was pretty worried and scared. But the way he teaches makes you very interested in the class. He also gives opportunities after you take each test to do an appeal where you can get extra credit points on the tests you take to raise your grade!!!

Brother Hales is the best! I have taken his FDENG101 and B320 class. I am sad that I have finished my required English classes because I would totally take another class from him. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. I highly recommend going to his office hours and getting to know him! P.S. This class replaces ENG301.

Great teacher. Follow the rubric of each assignment and you'll do fine. He has a great, applicable, stories if you can convince him that he isn't wasting time.

He was great. I want to take another one of his classes. He has a lot of really useful insight and experiences that he applies to what we are learning. Definitely a 10/10. You won't do anything in his class that is meaningless it is all useful and applicable to your future.

Brother Hales is great! He mostly grades on exams and one paper. He gives lots of hints on the exam if you come to class. Business Law is not my favorite subject, but Brother Hales made it bearable.

He cares more about teaching you something that will matter in your career than teaching you something for the next test. Oh, and if he comes dressed in a suit? Just hope he doesn't call you to the front of the class to answer a question on the board if you know what I mean.

He is such a great mix of funny, inspirational professor and professional, seasoned lawyer. His tests are scary but he does all he can do to prepare you.

Brother Hales is an awesome teacher and makes this class very enjoyable! There are a lot of tests throughout this class, but don't worry they are not super hard. It was open notes and book. He did review sessions for about every test. If you pay attention in class, he gives you the exact answers. I'm generally not a good test taker but I did well.

I've had 2 classes from Br. Hales. I wish he could teach all my classes. He's pretty laid back, and at the same, he challenges you to do your best. He generally skips over the busy work and spends extra effort to make sure you know the important stuff. He's fun and makes class much less painful. I just wish he'd have bought more of our LIT candles.

Brother Hales is the most kind hearted, but direct professor I know. He knows how to get things done the right way; that will help his students in life, rather than just in the class room. He's very good at simplifying difficult or misunderstood topics. He's not one of those teachers that rehashes the same course week after week. He keeps things current and relevant. His policies are good for motivating people to find out what they did wrong on their tests afterward. I'm not good at business stuff, but I still did well in this class.

Brother Hales is probably one of my favorite Professors ever. Makes Class enjoyable, Makes it easy to prepare for class, cares about his students, and is hilarious. He has study sessions for each test and you should definitely go. He usually has treats and its only about 20 minutes long.

Michael Hales is the greatest professor at BYU-Idaho. He teaches so clearly and simply, and every class is entertaining, he is very funny. He makes Business Law a fascinating class.

Take this class! It's not hard- the tests are do at home, open google, open book, open notes, and you are allowed to repeal questions you got wrong to make up points on past exams. There's only three assignments and they are easy to get 100s on. BROTHER HALES IS SO FUNNY. He's this successful lawyer who teaches a class for fun. My favorite class.

His lectures are great! He might get off topic once in a while, but he stays consistent with giving you actual helpful information. Best business writing professor available on campus. There are two classes per week: 1st- lecture, 2nd- peer editing, then on Saturday your two weekly assignments are due.

Brother Hales is the best teacher I've ever had. He wrote his own textbook that makes his material very easy to learn. The alternative was a text that required like 5x more reading. He's funny and you'll learn all kinds of things that you'll use for the rest of your life. Four tests, three papers, not really any other grades.

Brother Hales is a beautiful human being inside and out. Keeps lectures interesting which you will really appreciate since the material can actually be pretty dry. Passionate about what he teaches, personally provides audio/video study guides for every test which are very helpful. One of my favorite teachers. Solid man

Incredible class (BUS Exploration) and Brother Hales really cares to pass on his wisdom of the business world. I had him on Zoom (#Covid19) but he made it work and always had successful business people as guest speakers. He gives great tips on how to perfect a resume. Great stepping stone class for the business world!!!

This class is a basics course so it isn't meant to be hard but Brother Hales will help however you need in order to pass and get and A. He loves and cares about his students, He makes it clear that he is a different teacher in B100 than his other classes, so I can only speak from my experience in BUS100, but I would definitely take any other class from him. He wants you to get an A! Do the work and get to know him.

Great professor. Really cares about students. Not much busy work which is rare for low credit classes. Really entertaining and lets you out of class early when there is nothing to do or when he wants you to get assignments done.

Attendance is part of your grade, but extra credit is available to make that up at the end of the semester. Brother Hales is unlike any other professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares deeply about his students and is hands down one of the funniest people I know. Just laugh at his jokes, show up to class, submit your assignments and you will do so well in the class. If you are debating between Bro. Hales and someone else, do Hales. Love this teacher.

The assignments are fairly easy and helpful for real world things. Brother Hales is easily accessible outside of class & accepts all late work and redoes.

He will go off on silly unrelated tangents during classes and I think it makes the experience that much better. This class was never dull. He is full of life and loves what he teaches.

Professor Hales is the best! He's very funny and cares a lot about his students. Attendance wasn't necessarily mandatory but sometimes we had peer review quizzes that you have to take in class :) However, you'll look forward to going to class. He also let us out early every class!

For someone who has accommodation, I highly recommend using office hours, advocating for yourself, asking questions for clear understanding on assignments before it gets to late in the semester if you aren't happy with your grade. He truly does care about each student he meets. Also, he knows when to add humor and invite the spirit when he taches.

I loved taking this class from Bro Hales because he had such a passion for the subject. While it was just required for my major and I wasn't all that interested, it was fun to learn from him. He's all about helping his students be successful by giving them the resources to do so on and off campus. Whether it be with homework or life in general, his office is always open for his students when they need help.

There is no other way to describe Professor Hales other than absolutely fantastic. He is the most engaging professor I've ever had. Every morning we were greeted with joy and stories. This is probably my favorite professor I've ever had. I love the class and all the topics we go over. Professor Hales manages to make each class fun. He sometimes rants about medieval history and connects it to modern law. It makes the class way more fun! Professor Hales cares a lot about the topics and students, and it makes you care too

Best professor. He was so much fun, and made learning the law super enjoyable. He really encourages class discussion which I appreciate, but might not be ideal for everyone. All of his tests are open book and open note so they weren't ever that stressful. He also allows you to write appeals and earn points back.

He's a quirky guy but super understanding and helpful. Class is engaging and worthwhile, and he never overdoes busy work or reading. I get practical, real-life help from this class. It is balanced well and not too overwhelming and he tries to make the last few weeks a lighter load.

Brother Hales is a great teacher and has a really good, paced class structure that does not feel overwhelming. The midterm (white paper) is a lot of writing and takes a good amount of time to complete. Outside of that project everything else has limited word counts and is very manageable.

This is my second class from Brother Hales and I have thoroughly enjoyed both. Business Law is extremely insightful and needed for any career. He is also extremely caring and helped me through a very difficult situation outside of class. One of the best professors on campus, do not hesitate to take his class.

Bro. Hales is probably one of my favorite professors, and probably always will be. He is very energetic and engaging in class and he always keeps the lectures interesting. The hardest assignment is the White Paper mid-semester but it doesn't take more than a couple hours to complete depending on your effort. He and the TA's are always available.

Bro. Hales keeps class interesting. He wrote the textbook for the class, and rather than charging for it he gives it to his students for free. It is also much shorter than most textbooks. He makes sure the explain topics in a way that makes sense and is applicable to students, and also helps to answer questions in a way that will help later in life

Brother Hales is by far my favorite professor on campus. He is super funny and keeps his lectures very lively. He really cares about his students and is willing to work with you one on one. I never felt like I was just doing busy work, he always gives assignments that he thinks will help you find a job.

I took both BUS 100 and BUS 301 with Brother Hales, and he's a great teacher. His lectures are super helpful with real-life applications, and he shares interesting stories. He's also a really kind and caring person. You'll learn how to build a resume, prep for interviews, get internships, and so much more!

This prof will help you understand law as it pertains to business needs well. His TA will work with you more than he will when it comes to grading so make sure that you know the TA. This is a great class from this prof.
