I learned a great deal about government and politics. The most interesting part of his class was that we learned about 100 different court cases that corresponded to the constitution and the amendments. I enjoyed his class
Very cool guy, has a cool accent, and actually makes us understand the subject. Is a tough class because is not multiple choice, but he gives great study guides that make it easy. If you don't wanna study and do the guides, you'll fail, but mostly is not bad, Just take notes and you'll be fine,
Great professor. This guy loves his topice and it shows. His accent is not difficult to understand. Attendence is not mandatory, but if you dont show up you will miss things, though he just goes over the book, he explains things in a very clear way. The study guides are invaluable, if you know them you will do great on the exams.
Dr. Hart is great, he is so smart and absolutely knows subject. Has many historical stories that are interesting. Makes the subject easy to learn and he good to listen to. Test are essay, so be prepared with notes, as he allows them on test day.
Dr. Hart is amazing! He has a brilliant and creative mind. The subject is made so interesting because of his enthusiastic and funny lectures. I learned so much from this class and absolutely loved it. Might be challenging for some who are not paying close attention.
Great teacher. I actually feel smarter after taking Dr. Hart's class. It is work and you must take notes, but he teaches so that you will be interested and learn. If you don't learn from his lectures...school might not be your cup-o-tea.
Prof. Hart's class really made me reconsider my major and going into Political Science. This class is amazing, he also gives you all the tools you need online so you barely need to use the book at all!!! I would recommend him hands down!!!!!
Dr. Hart is an amazing professor that will keep you interested in his lectures. He's absolutely hilarious and is great at using analogies and putting things into perspective, making the topic interesting and easy to understand. HIGHLY recommended!!! Make sure you attend class and take notes and you'll get an A.
Prof. Hart, was awesome! Made lectures very entertaining! Had 2 quizzes that were multiple choice, and 2 exams that were essay, as well as one paper. It was very easy. Allowed notes on essays, and had notice of paper from start of semester! Great professor, knows a lot about the subject!
I loved this teacher! So funny! Just pay attention and take great notes! He makes great power points too! and lets you use a cheat sheet for the essay tests!
This professor is great. I haven't finished the course yet but wanted to Rate before I finish. He is straightforward with all assignments. Hard to do wrong because discussion posts + Essay & exams are mostly how you feel about topics. 2 discussion topics a week,1 test, 1 essay paper, 2 quizzes, & final exam. He also keeps up on his grading.
Take notes and pay attention. I loved taking this course with him. He's funny, passionate and understanding. You don't have to buy the book which is great, he has all the knowledge you need for the class. Take time with your cheat sheet on quizzes!
Good online course. Weekly posts, exams and a paper. He gives you all of the information you need to be successful. He is a good online teacher.
Best online teacher I've ever had. He gives you everything you need to get a good grade. 2 discussions per week, 2 quiz's, 1 midterm, 1 paper, and 1 final. I had no real interest in politics before this class, but Mr. Hart changed that.
I absolutely love Dr. Hart! I had no interest in politics before I took his class. Now I want to major in it. His lectures are very enlightening, and his assignments are not unreasonable. He allows a cheat sheet on the midterm and final, so that helps immensely. It was a very enjoyable class.
One of the best professors I've had. He is a fair grader. There's 2 quizzes, 2 written exams, and a paper. He gives study guides for each one. And provides slides online. You barely ever touch your textbook, only for references. On the plus side he is very humorous.
Fantastic Professor. Super clear lectures, really nice and helpful guy.2 quizzes a midterm and a final and one paper. Allows cheat sheet for midterm and Final. Highly recommend.
Professor Hart was a great professor. I learned all the material through his lectures (which were sometimes heard to understand, but still very good). I highly recommend!
Great Professor. Accent can be hard to understand at times. You will truly learn in this class. He lets you use cheat sheet on exams which helps greatly. I struggle with polisci and I got an A in his class. Recommend
Dr Hart was AMAZING! I hate politic and history & these 2 things together gave me a nightmare, I took PSC Spring 2014(had to drop it) But I took it again in Summer and Dr Hart blew me away, I was intersted in this same subject i dreaded,I LEARNT SO MUCH, HE WAS JUST SIMPLY AMAZING & SUPER FUNNY W/ BEAUTIFUL HEART..HIGHLY HIGHLY RECONMMENDED!!!!!
I love Dr. Hart!! He is hilarious and very easy going!. I learned a lot in his class and would take it again. He's old school and a big time lecturer but this class is worth it. Tests are easy, all notes are on canvas in if you miss a class. His accent can be tough to understand sometimes but he gives great feedback. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM
Professor Hart gives very interesting and entertaining lectures. I am not one for politics but Professor Hart made it relatable and fun. I have a new appreciation for politics and I enjoy watching the news and finally have an understanding of what is going on. Attend class, take notes and study power points and you will do well in his class.
Phenomenal Professor! There are only 4 quizzes, a midterm and a final. USE HIS POWER POINTS, and get a jump start on his study guides, they are all on Canvas. He is hysterical and down to earth. I received an "A" in the class, do your work, pay attention and don't be afraid to ask questions, NEVER OPENED THE "BOOK," so save yourself some $$. A+++++
Professor Hart has lengthy lectures, but very informational. I hardly used the text book, most was by his lectures and research. Both Mid Term and Final Exam are answering essay questions.
He uses PP presentations; lectures are long, but sometimes throws some jokes. Classes are boring if you aren't interested in the subject, but there's no hw & textbook is not used. Midterm & Final consist of essay questions, 2 multiple choice quizzes & one paper. You have to attend class in order to know the material, but he does gives study guides.
Took online. Listen to lectures and read powerpoints. Some lectures are long. 2 assignments a week, a paragraph long. No Textbook. Looked online for some answers haha, but lectures useful for answers. Two tests, and are NOT multiple choice. He has study guides, it helps so you have an idea whats on test. Easy class but lectures long.
Very long lectures, and a lot of information. There is 4 test and 1 paper for the semester, the paper is fairly easy though. Grades easy.
Professor hart is an ok not someone you can relate with his level of intelligence is so superior that you will be lost. the class consist of 2 quizzes 2 tests and a paper. He know his lectures and tests are hard yet he puts no effort to help the students the study guides are vague and unhelpful especially for the written tests do not take him!!!
Professor Hart is nice and gives good feedback. The class consists of a discussion question (50-200 words) every week, 2 quizzes, 2 tests, and a 2 page paper. Super easy for a 4 credit class. Highly recommended!!
Lectures are long and boring, he tells a few jokes here and there. There are only 4 tests and a paper, the paper is super easy the tests get easier as the semester goes on, so don't stress if you do bad on the first one.
This was a fairly simple and easy course. I personally did not buy the textbook because the reading is optional since he provides video lectures. Everything you need to know for quizzes and exams are in those videos. There is a discussion post every week, 2 quizzes, and the final and midterm exams. There is also a 2-3 page essay based on a video.
Mr. Hart is a great teacher, he provides a lot of lectures/videos for you and has a clear grading system. I took him online and had weekly discussion due every Sunday and like 4 tests. Easy A if you just try, would take him again.
Lectures mostly by PowerPoint and has many lectures on YouTube. Great sense of humor and does not POLARIZE students with his own political views. This is EXACTLY what a 101 class should be. Factual, basic and entertaining. Easy to talk to and willing to answer all questions from an objective viewpoint. I cant stress this enough.
I took the 8 week Summer session. There were 4 tests, no paper. He gives you a study guide for every test and lets you have open notes on the written ones! You don't need the textbook. He makes his own power points and everything is based on them. If you miss more than 4 classes you get half a letter grade deducted. I loved this professor/class
I took his summer course, was genuinely sad when it ended. lecture heavy but hes great to listen to. He remained neutral which must be hard as hes clearly very passionate about politics. which was nice to see in a prof. Passion. its all on power point. 4 tests. The written tests you can use your notes. Such a nice smart man. Enjoyed the class.
No book needed which is awesome since it saves you money. Super easy class it is just discussion post and test. Do the work and get a good grade.
No book needed. Largest portions of grade are from tests. Test questions come straight from the videos so I would recommend watching all. 15 discussions, 2 multiple choice tests, and 2 exams that consisted of 2 essay questions and multiple choice. Tests were easy as long as you watch the videos. Overall great prof and easy A if you put in the work.
I love professor Hart. He's one of the best. I learned so much in his classes. Will definitely take his class again.
He is an amazing professor. No textbook needed which saves you money. No papers, only 4 tests; 2 are scantron and 2 are written. He'll let you use the study guide or any power points for the written exams. Highly recommend taking this professor.
Professor Hart has all of his lectures on YouTube with PowerPoint slides, so you do not need a book. He keeps it very interesting and does not get caught up in any bias which was great. Very timely with grading assignments and exams. Exams are not hard if you do all the lectures.
If you don't attend the class it'll be hard to get an A, even tho there is powerpoints, he says a lot of extra stuff in class, so its better if you show up. The test are easy if you study and take good notes; there is a total of four test, 2 multiple choice, and two where you choose 3 questions and answer them. He is honestly hilarious.
Great sense of humor and is amazing at explaining especially material that will be covered on the test. Go to class! His lectures are amazing and so helpful, especially if you are interested in political science. Amazing teacher, amazing class 100/10 recommend!
in his class, you show up to take notes. its honestly so easy and he always dismisses early! he has 4 things he grades on and theyre all based on the notes. if you miss a day he has powepoints of the exact notes online. his reviews alone will make you pass the tests! his class is an easy A and very entertaining. DOES NOT TOLERATE DISRESPECT
Professor Hart is one of the best professors I have had. His lectures are very informative and engaging. If you have the chance to take his class then I would strongly recommend his class. The only grades in his class are two multiple guess tests and two written tests. If you pay attention and take good notes, you should easily pass the class.
Good professor but speaks a little too fast. A few students and I sometimes struggled to catch up with he says during the lectures. Attend all of his lectures cuz there is some material that he talks about in class that isn't covered in his videos. One good thing is that the written tests are open notes and you can use printouts of his powerpoints.
Prof. Hart is super funny. It is a lot of work and memorizing and studying but he lays it out and makes it as easy as he can. He isnt biased from what I experienced, he just pretty much lays it down.
I took Dr. Hart over for the 8 week the summer course. He doesn't require you to buy a book. The only assignments for the entire course are 1 weekly discussion response and 4 exams. He gives very detailed and thoughtful feedback and gives 100% on almost every discussion if you just make an effort. Responds to emails quickly too.
I took Prof Hart psc101 6wk summer, and was surprised how much I learned. No textbook (money saver!), only YouTube lectures (hopefully he updates them soon, theyre from 2016). The study guides posted in canvas are extremely helpful, as is adjusting the video speed. Hes always available via email and responds quickly and with good insight.
Professor Hart didnt like me to much, but I enjoyed him as my teacher. I took his PSC101 class and got an A study for the test and you will do well! He made me really love political science and is very knowledgeable when teaching this
The textbook can be boring at times however, the tests and the discussion questions he gives are very easy and comprehensible and makes it so you can apply the information you've learned into a real life situation.
Professor Hart needs to update his tests and slide shows. They are rife with spelling and informational errors. For instance, his power point still says that the Governor is Sandoval. I believe that much of what is on the first and second tests was not covered in class and many of his lecture slides were simply mind maps with no explanation.
This was the easiest class i've taken this semester. He had recorded video lectures on youtube. Each week there was a short discussion you had to answer that correlated with a video. every 4 weeks there was a test, so 4 test in total and a final exam. You can watch the additional videos to study and he also gives a list of things to know for each.
Mr. Hart is really easy. All that you do is watch a lecture video (if you want) to answer the weekly discussion question. If you have a really busy schedule than I strongly suggest taking his class!
This was an easy class with a lot of lectures, some were a little boring. There were timed quizzes and 2 quizzes had an essay portion. Pretty easy class and cool teacher.
Excellent professor. Zero political bias. No textbook. Useful video lectures. Provides study guides that cover everything in the tests. 4 tests in total. The midterm and Final have 20-25 multiple choice questions and 2 free response. The other tests have 50 multiple choice questions. Actively tried to help students by offering in person tutoring.
He is a great professor! Didn't have a textbook and all of his lectures are on YouTube. I did it online so it was easy. His study guides are SO ACCURATE to the tests and even give answers sometimes. The tests aren't hard if you watch and understand the lectures. Discussion posts every week. TAKE HIM! He is always willing to help!
Taken online, he has a playlist of lectures that he links you to. You have weekly discussions as homework online which are based on one video, they're easy to answer. Has 4 exams (all multiple choice, 2 have essay questions), very easy as he has a study guide that will list the things you need to know. He'll answer questions even though he's busy.
This course was very easy I actually learned a lot so I enjoyed this professor. No book Is needed but the course only has 4 exams and the rest are discussion boards and on those you need to watch videos in order to answer them. The exams you need to watch videos as well in order to find your answers.
His lectures are very informational! The easiest way to get an A in this class is by skimming through the lectures while filling out the study guides. The exam study guides are basically question for question. There are 4 exams total for this class and 1 short discussion each week! A very simple course!
Easy class. Weekly discussion posts, based on a study guide. A total of 4 quizzes, 2 of them 50 multiple choice questions, the other 2 22 multiple choice questions, and 1 essay question. The study guides provided make it easy to follow the lectures (all YouTube, 4 playlists). If you do the work, it should be really easy for you to get an A.
Professor Hart's class was definitely a breather for me this semester. While your grade is composed of 4 main tests, (in-person) he goes over the material and study guides with you really well in his lectures. Plus he is easily accessible for help and even puts his teachings online if you miss a day. Would definitely recommend.
I wish all Professors at CSN were like Professor Hart! I was skeptical on taking this course because of possibly having too much work bunched in such a short time during the summer but this course was a BREEZE and the study guides are on point along with the lecture which goes hand in hand with the exams and discussion boards. TAKE THIS CLASS!
As far as Dr. Hart goes for PSC 101, he was pretty good. His classes were easy (he just lectured), but he also provided videos out of class that you could watch. Prepare for conflicting political views and some conservative propaganda here and there. Overall, not bad.
Pretty much all of his lectures are on youtube, but I love to show up to class since he has a good sense of humor. You get better info on his youtube videos than in class since he mostly skims through the lesson. There are only four tests throughout the semester, that's it. But he provides an extremely easy study guide that is exactly on the test.
Entertaining professor! His lectures are easy. If you take notes, watch his YouTube videos, not in class since he just skims through the lessons. He will give you easy study guides for exams that is almost exactly on the test. You take the test online. He will occasionally conflict some liberal propaganda and conservative (to me more liberal).
Pretty easy course. Not a heavy workload, just a discussion per week and tests after each section. Easy to manage with other courses.
I loved this class and I learned so much about how the government is controlled as well as designed. The lectures were very informative to help you understand what you will be tested for on the exams. Nothing was ambiguous about this course. EASY A!
A light class that was easy to control with a busy life schedule
Hands down the easiest class I've taken yet, everyone I know talks about how grueling PSC was it's to bad they didn't choose Professor hart. One discussion post a week, not on weeks there is tests(tests are actually so simple it's insane) and that's. it. If you're looking for an easy psc and don't need to learn that bad please take this one.
Mr. Hart is the best PSC professor you'll ever find here at CSN. Easy Class. 4 Tests. Two 50q Multiple Choice tests. Two 25q Multiple Choice w Essay question (Not hard). Provides study guide that is very easy similar to test. Super funny and friendly. He is in my Teacher Hall of Fame. He is a GOAT. Take his class if you want an A.
This was a great class! Dr. Hart is hilarious, and definitely holds my respect, one of the more distinguished professors at CSN. His class is simple: Show up, go over slides that he provides, and watch his youtube videos for study material at home. He provides exam study guides, and only has about 4 exams throughout the semester. Really great guy!
The online course consisted of weekly discussion posts and 4 tests total. Professor Hart provides a great study guide for each test, be sure to use it to review before you take the test. No extra things to be bought, just youtube videos made by Professor Hart on each topic. Do the work and make sure to study for the tests and you will be fine.
Professor Hart's class was straightforward and very easy. A discussion post almost every week (not weeks with tests) and 4 tests. That's literally it! Definitely do the study guides because all of the tests are exactly the same as them!
Professor Hart's class was very straightforward and easy. We did a discussion post almost every week (not weeks with tests) and 4 tests. That's literally it! Definitely do the study guides because all of the tests are exactly the same as them! I would recommend this professor if you want a low-stress course. Just do the work and you will be fine!
Dr. Hart only has 4 tests and 11 discussion boards all super easy honestly either do your own research on the topics he gives out or even watch his YouTube videos. He gives out study guides for his test so super easy to not get a decent grade for this class.
I am excited for next semester!
Dr. Hart is great. PS is not my favorite subject, I've emailed him a few times for help and he was always really nice. As long as you do all your discussions and do well on the tests (DO THE STUDY GUIDES, AND YOU WILL PASS), you'll be fine. 2 tests will have a writing portion, but he's a fair grader. I highly recommend taking him as your professor!
Decent professor, only 4 tests for grading (no other assignments), tests taken online with internet access (sometimes gives answers from study guide), humorous, allows certain amount of missed attendance, didn't watch online lectures and I did fine
This class is amazing! I recommend Dr. Hart!
The class is amazing! Only grade is the exams! Attandance is mandatory so dont miss class.
All of the exams can be taken online at your house unproctored. There are no other HW assignments, so make sure to take the exams on time. Each exam is between 31 - 55 questions, mostly multiple choice with a few open answer questions. Prof. Hart is a very easygoing person who is happy to answer questions and has a great sense of humor.
For IR, discussion post every week based on the assigned chapter. 4 tests, one about every month that are a mix of MC and short answer. Paper due near the end of the semester about a contemporary event that you are to analyze using what you have learned. The textbook can be a bit boring, but as long as you read it and do the work, you'll be fine.
I took his class in person and the whole class was spent with lecturing. There were no homework assignments or extra credit, so the only things contributing to your grade were 4 tests. The tests consisted of multiple choice and free response questions and weren't too hard. Overall, Professor Hart was very funny in his lectures and he's a good guy.
Took it in-person, and overall good class. Attendance was mandatory and classes were lecture-heavy. The grades rely on 4 exams. Paying attention in class and rewatching the lectures on YouTube help you pass the tests though. He's pretty funny too but it is kind of sarcastic humor so beware of that.
Dr. Hart is a funny professor that provides engaging and interesting lectures. His class rarely goes past an hour 30, and he was taking attendance (10 unexcused absences allowed) for the first 13 weeks. The last 3 weeks of his class, he had attendance as optional. He is very knowledgable, funny, and relateable. He's a great professor.
Makes a somewhat mundane topic engaging and highlights interesting parts of U.S. political history. No assignments other than 4 tests which, if you pay attention, aren't too difficult at all. Attendance is technically mandatory, but he allows plenty of absences before any penalties (my semester was 7 but I've seen other reviews differ so idk)
The class was fun! I like the lectures! There only four exams! Read and watch the YouTube video.
I took this class of spring 2024! Attandance was mandatory but last few weeks is optional. There only four exams. No extra credit or other assignments! I recommend him to anyone need an polticial science class.
This class is a very easy class (as prereq classes should be), but if you truly have an interest in political science I would recommend another professor. The style of the class makes it hard to stay engaged with topics and his slides are often overloaded with information not is not useful for tests.
I took this class spring 2024. I recommend him. There four exams and he provided study guides.
i dont write reviews but i just had to for Dr. Hart. was the most chill class i took my whole college career and i could not be any more thankful. he made the 11 assignments and 4 tests SUPER CLEAR and if you have previous knowledge about politics, this class should just be a fun easy way to yap. barely talked directly to him but love this guy frfr
I loved my time with Professor Hart. Although the lectures were long, his personality made them bearable. His humor made a two-hour lecture class manageable and he's very clear with his expectations provides study guides and YouTube videos in case you miss class. Very lenient and overall, 10/10 professor.
Professor Hart is a very honest, funny professor. His lectures are very informative but also very dense in information and can be hard to keep up with. His tests are simple compared to the information on the slideshows, which can include paragraphs of writing on a single slide.
Overall a pretty easy class, but make sure to actively cite evidence and not write as academically for the weekly discussion posts or else your work will be falsely accused of AI and the professor will refuse to change the grade, since he relies on his AI detectors to grade the assignments.
strongly dislike Political Science but he is a great teacher. His lectures are informative and he's funny. Engages with the class and lets you have 6 unexcused absences, only 4 tests online, no homework, no discussions, no activities. If you miss a class he has a YouTube channel that covers all of his topics to review.
I took him spring 2024 and he was really good
Prof. Hart is great at making PSC interesting. It is not my favorite subject, however, I looked forward to the weekly lessons when taking his class. Expectations were clear and classwork was easy to plan during the week from this online course. I enjoyed the teacher and the course.
No textbook, and info from video lectures was sometimes hard to find/understand, but the 4 exams online were very easy, and he provided helpful guides to prepare. Write as personally as possible for the weekly discussions because he copy-pastes everything into faulty AI detectors. Only one exam had a simple written portion, just do the guides.
It was an easy A but he had me crashing out by saying my discussions were "AI" after I cited his video lectures directly and basically started using his own words. I even tried talking to him about it but he believes his AI detectors are the best threatened to report me. When in reality we all know they don't work. So just have bad grammar...
There is no textbook. He gives you a study guide and youtube videos to watch and take notes. There are 4 tests. Lots of info to remember but very informative. Discussion posts are not mandatory. Easy class and the professor is really nice.
Be cautious when taking this class, you NEED to study and write down notes like crazy, there are 4 test each having about 40 - 50 multiple choice questions and two with one written question and unfortunately the test is not open note, for someone with slight memory issues this was a bit frustrating and nerve wrecking, class wasn't enjoyable.
This class wasn't horrible; it took me a little bit to get used to how it is. Only four tests, so be careful, all the information you need is on his YouTube playlists.
No homework was needed to submit, you just have to watch his videos for each exam. He does give you a study guide. I felt like there was so much info in the videos that he tests on that he does not have on the study guide. Remember Judges and what case they won and year. Those questions got me since it was not focused on the study guide.
Would never take him again. Study guides did not help whatsoever, and if you do not have photographic memory nor a knack for history, you will not do well. If you can take somebody else, please do. So much information in his lectures; you will watch almost 100 of them, with most being 25+ minutes.
There are only 4 exams and a documentary paper that make up your grade. The study guides do not help whatsoever since the exams ask about information that was mentioned for a couple of minutes in an online lecture. Each test has a playlist of videos ranging from 27-35. No extra credit or cooperation for your grade from him. I would not recommend.
No textbook, but 100+ YouTube videos to watch. A question and answer assignment, 4 PROCTORED multiple choice tests with about 50 questions (no notes obviously). Study guides are incredibly vague and pointless. Don't take if you're enrolled in more than three classes. He's very knowledgeable about history and politics. There's no room for slacking.
