Great teacher, easy class.

He's very nice as a person, but that's about it. His lectures are confusing because he talks very fast, and goes a little too in-depth on certain subjects. Tests are hard, even though they're multiple choice/short answer (typical format). Not recommended.

His lectures can be fun. He explains everything really well, and has prepared slides to take notes from. Tests come straight from notes.

He's a bit nutty, but seems to really enjoy the course. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Thorough review for exams. Wears Versace.

Loved him! All Power Point lectures makes taking notes simple. All tests and quizzes come straight from notes. If you study and come to class you'll pass! I got a 4.0! Gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Would take him again in a heartbeat!! :)

Wonderful teacher! Knows his animal stuff, can ask him anything. He shows us what to study for quizzes and tests. Powerpoint lecture, makes it even more fun with images and illustrations. Goes out of his way to help lab students who have Connie Duer to finish the lab assigment (cuz she can't teach!)

He's a good teacher, but he's an even harder test giver. His tests will own you like no other. I must say, his Zoology midterm will be your death. And his pop-quizzes, that have 25 terms to decipher, heh... insane. NOT MULTIPLE CHOICE OR CONNECT THE WORD EITHER. Write it in, bit.ch. This class=FAIL

The quizzes everyday NEED to be studied for but all of the answers are in the notes. Don't miss a class. Does help out the grades if the class average is low. Really knows what he's talking about and makes the class interesting.

The professor is very nice, funny and dorky, but his tests are soooo hard. You won't pass them unless you have time to study 14 hours a week. The pop-up quizes suck. If you care about your GPA you would stay away from this class. TAKE BIOLOGY!!

He is defineitly a college level professor, closer to graduate school. nice guy but strict. You will learn in his class, but it is difficult. It is not impossible to pass but you must put forth more effort than most classes. You will walk away having learned something and he did offer a lil extra credit for lab. Very smart man.

He is not that hard as long as you study. It is very helpful to know Biology in depth before you attempt to take this class, remember it is a second level course. He is a nice guy and he will give you the exact questions that will be on the tests. And that is a horrible picture of him.

Just show up everyday & make sure that u do the homework b/c the quizes can bring ur grade down (if u don't study 4 them). But he's still easy!If u fail it's b/c u wanted 2! O yea...he curves grades.

I had Dr.Harvey for bio lab and he was really cool. He wanted to help and made sure we all knew how to use the equipment needed for the lab. Quizzes and homework assignments were pretty straight foward. If you do the homework and study for the quizzes you'll pass w/at least a B!!

He's very strict on attendance and punctuality. So a lil tip...DO NOT EVER BE LATE!!! Attend all classes....do all the home-work...study for the quizzes and your sure to pass! Not my best teacher but not the worst...

If you take his class you have to study EVERY detail about the previous lab and current lab. His quizzes are hard and to me dumb. He also has an attitude that sometimes make u want to slap him HARD. But he isn't the worst so you should do OK in his class

Excellent Professor! Keep in mind, the material is hard. All of the tests are DIRECTLY off the powerpoints and slides covered in class! As long as you take notes and glance over them before class you can do fine. The quizzes he gives are short answer but, STRAIGHT FROM THE NOTES YOU TAKE! very entertaining teacher, makes learning interesting.

I TOOK HIM FOR BIOLOGY LAB AND I THINK HE DID GOOD. EXPLAINS WHAT U NEED TO DO BEFORE EVERY LAB. VERY THOROUGH. HOMEWORK WAS A LITTLE DIFFICULT BUT U HAVE TO ASK QUESTIONS. UIZZES EVERY WEEK BUT IF U READ THE MATERIAL AND DO THE PROJECTS YOU'RE SURE TO GET AT LEAST A B.

He's an OK professor;not great but can't complain either. I'm actually learning a lot in this class and I hate biology; I have a mid C and that's better than I thought I would do. Read the book and take notes frm it. If U study UR own note plus his U should do fine. No multiple choice at all, only fill in the blanks, that's the only thing I hate.

Good teacher, that explains difficult material well. Speaks clearly and makes it interesting. You can tell he enjoys the subject himself. Not fond of essay test questions but I did learn a lot.

im not good in science, and i didnt get an A in his class either. but thats only because im not one to study. all his tests are from things you learn in class and things he specifies. i recommend him, but zoology is a pretyy tough class. a lot of vocab to rememer. but hes reallyyyyyyyyyyy fair

I took his Gen. Bio. honors class. I absolutely hate any form of science but I actually learned a lot in his class. He's not really a difficult teacher, but you should study and read the book for clarification and to supplement his lectures, it really helped me a lot. I recommend him 100%.

Profesor harvey is a good teacher, he is nice, his class is easy if you did any good in high school. notes are everything in his class you barely need the book. Dont need to show up to everyclass but cant miss quiz days cuz no make up. test are just like longer quizzes. would recomend to anyone willing to learn. for dule enrolement 100% take him.

This class is the most difficult class that I have taken at BCC.His tests are ridiculous. Run. Run far away from this class, unless you like to be confused, frustrated, & not taught a single thing.

Very Interesting class! Professor Harvey is very passionate about Zoology. If you are trying he will see that and help you through. Fun class!! Lab with him was fun as well! Extra credit is offered,,,

He is really cool. My favorite teacher overall. His class is difficult for the scientifically handicapped but is cool. He gives good curves. Plus extra credit field trips. Would Recommend to anyone.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TEACHER!he is a researcher in this field so he loves the subject and is extremely knowledgable. Although it is alot of studying because you have to know body parts for animals. super nice, and very willing to explain anything you dont understand. i recommend him to anyone and i plan on taking his biology class.

I highly recommend EVERYONE to take this class. I learned so much and had so much fun. There are always opportunities for extra credit. He is hilarious and is not afraid to explain everything to you. He basically gives you the questions on the tests ahead of time and is very laid back. You will need to study. But it was definitely my favorite.

Dr. Harvey is awesome. the info is kinda hard if you've never taken a class like this before but he does a good job of explaining everything. gives you 3 trips for 10 pts overall for the class. gives reviews in the syllabus thats exactly like the test. he's really funny too.

Dr. Harvey is a gifted professor, i enjoued his class so much. it is a challenging class but he gives you so many oportunites to get a good grade, i would recommend him to anyone and i would take him again in a heartbeat!

Very interesting class. Deff a whole type of diferent science. Not ur typical animal class. Hes very very nice. just dont miss a class because you will be screwed MAJOR! u will miss alot of material. other than that hes extremely helpful and funny.!

this is one of my favorite professors ever!! i enjoyed this class very much...it can be pretty hard but if you like the subject and pay attention and take notes and study hard you'll pass. he grades with a curve so even if you fail some quizzes or even tests you'll probably still pass...very enjoyable class! wish i could take it again!

MR. HARVEY IS AN AMAZING TEACHER! He is one of the most helpful teachers i have ever had! Personally, the class interests me, but it does require studying! If you don't want to study, then that's your fault! But he is a great professor!

large amount of material to be known in order to do well on tests. BUT, he gives you 99% of what you will need to know listed out in very conprehensive study guides so if you put effort in youre almost guaranteed a good grade. Very good to take this class if new to college since he teaches you how to study and be successful in other classes

I loved this class. Dr. Harvey was an excellent teacher. He goes out and studies the things he teaches about himself and he really loves what he does. There's a lot to remember and I worked harder for this class than all my others combined. Book is optional. Tests are comprised from his lectures. Write down everything he says!

Dr. Harvey is truly passionate about what he teaches. Try to take him for lab as well. I will say that the class demands a lot more hours of studying and memorizing names then any other of my classes. He is an amazing professor. Great way to start of your bio classes! When he talks he makes so much sense. He has such a great ability to teach students! I Highly suggest you to take him but be ready to read and the tests and quizzes aren't multiple choice but he makes it easy! Just pay attention.

Not an easy A, requires lots of studying. His powerpoints that he lecures off of is always online, literally all his tests consists of material from powerpoints. Study the powerpoints and you'll do great on tests. Prepare for a lot of word memorization. This is the only class in which I remember material after i passed(Even up to this moment).

Prof Harvey is a great teacher. He is very elaborate in his work and explains things in ways that anyone can understand. I had him only once a week and each class he goes through a powerpoint and gives a quiz based on everything he taught in the last powerpoint. You have to study each week but if you are interested in biology you'll do fine

Very good teacher. EVERYTHING IS BASED ON MEMORIZING!! Flashcards came in very handy and his review questions helped on all his tests. As long as you study and go to class you will pass. I skipped a few classes but studied very hard and passed with a B. Definitely would take him again.

Took both the lecture and lob which I suggest because both classes are parallel to each other as far as test go. EVERYTHING IS BASED ON MEMORIZING!! If you study his worksheet that he provides you will pass. Your grade is based on you and if you study.

Made me miserable, and I'm not used to failing. His class is structured, you really have to be on top of everything as the material is very sensitive and detailed. Made the class hard, everyone seemed uninterested at some point, people not coming to class. He can work with his students more, not so happy about this guy. Class Avg. 67 be warned!

Reading these reviews prior to the class definitely had me nervous, but I took it anyway. Ended up being a pretty decent class. Definitely not an easy A, lots of reading and studying went in to getting good grades. Be sure to go on the extra credit field trip, you'll thank me later. Wouldn't recommend for someone who isn't a science major.

Dr. Harvey is an incredible person, is passionate about his studies, and is very down to earth. By far one of my favorite professors at BC! Do the extra credit field trip, it is a lot of fun/easy. Don't take this class if you're looking for an easy A, or for a professor that will let you text/sleep in class. Easy material, lots of studying.

Awesome teacher,answers all questions(even 'dumb' ones),allows class to finish taking notes before continuing. Honestly, he GIVES you everything you need to study (PowerPoints and questions from hw (syllabus)). Although he doesn't role call, there is information that is only spoken in class--like maybe 10% questions is not in hwPowerPt he gives.

Lots of quizzes (one just about every class) how ever they are very straight forward and if you study there should be no problem. There is a great class trip to the everglades that is a must (also extra credit). I really enjoyed this teacher, I wished I had to take him again but my journey is over with BCC. Expect multiple choice quizzes based on books and exams that are fill in the blankshort answer based on lecture. Books and lectures are loosely connected with each other. In the SYLLABUS he gives you hw sets which ARE the questions he'll ask on quizexam. VERY nerdycorny jokes. Answers all questions. Passionate about subject. Extracredit trip.

It is a HARD class & requires a lot of reading and studying but if you're there to learn, he is the BEST professor I've ever had. He makes class fun & although it's hard to keep up, he gives great opportunity for extra credit. You have to study since most quizzes are fill in the blank, no word bank, but it's fascinating and I'm not a science major.

Dr. Harvey is a great professor; very passionate about the subject, material, and teaching. Don't expect to take his class if you want an easy credit, there will be a lot of work! Tests every week, homework, and some minor readings. His lectures involve power points and he gives many chances for extra credit; field trips, and grade curves.

Professor Harvey is an objectively great teacher in every sense of the word. I learned more in this class than every other class I've taken in my first two years combined. He is extremely knowledgeable, and you get extra credit if you go on a field trip with him! This class is hard, but very rewarding. My favorite Professor I've ever had.

Professor Harvey is the most passionate professor I've had yet. His lectures are interesting and filled with information. His quizzes and tests are almost identical to what's in his PP's. Be sure to prepare your QA's and have a copy printed with you. There's a quiz after each PP and a test after a few PP's. There's a lot of memorization involved!

Yes he is a hard professor, he makes you work for your grade. Tests are fill in the blank, but everything you get tested on is on the powerpoint. He uses the powerpoint in class to use for lecture and break it down for all of us to understand, and also posts it on d2l for your own use. Also gives extra credit if you attend a field trip

Quiz questions are repeated on tests sometimes. In lab memorization key for practicals. 10 points ec if you go on a field trip to Everglades. All in all a good professor.

Professor Harvey is someone who is really passionate about the subject he teaches. He gives really good and interesting lectures and while he talks about the subject, he's always laughing and smiling. He is a really nice guy and honestly gives a lot of chances to his students. This is NOT an easy class though. Prepare to dedicate yourself to it.

Dr. Harvey is by far the best professor I've ever had. He is very passionate and educated. I loved his lectures and his humor. He definitely makes you work hard for your grade but he is also fair. His approach of doing QandA during lecture really helped me keep up with the class. I would highly recommend if you are a dedicated person and work hard.

Your tests are purely based on the lecture and the vague power point that he doesn't put up till a few days before the test. You actually HAVE TO study for quizzes/tests bc there is no study guide or homework to help u remember stuff. However, he's super passionate so he's willing to explain things again if you just ask.

Doctor Harvey's class is tough but if you work hard it is not difficult to understand just lots of memorization. I thought he was hilarious and sassy and I'd definitely take his class again.

Over a year later, I still dearly miss going to this class. Dr. Harvey is clearly one of the most knowledgable professors at Broward College. His lectures are interesting and to the point. Dr. Harvey dedicates himself to making sure his students gain the fullest understanding of the material! Thank you, Dr. Harvey!

Dr. Harvey is extremely knowledgeable. he will give you every resource he possibly can to make sure you will pass. he even gave out his number to text him when you have a question! very professional and understanding. he isnt very tech savy and his tests are not easy but if you have good study habits and use his resources this class is for you.

Dr. Harvey is one of my favorite professors. The course isn't an easy A class, you will have to put forth effort, but the material isn't difficult; there are many details to remember. VERY tough quizzes. Do the Q&A and you'll pass, but make sure to study the PowerPoint as well. You will have to study a lot. Do NOT use your phone, he hates that. Attendance is weird, you have to talk to him in person when absent. Be on time, he starts as soon as possible. Enjoy the field trip! It was awesome.
