One of THE BEST philosophy professors at St. Johns. Cares a lot about students and tries his best. A great man! The class is easy and at the same time, you can learn really, really a lot. As I said, I love the man! I highly recommend him!

He is nice and helpful, but the lectures can be boring and the material is diffucult. The grade is made up of 3 multiple choice exams and you can do a paper for extra credit. I found the tests pretty hard and sometimes confusing. Luckily, he curves them.

although the material is boring, it IS philosophy! he was really helpful, went over all the material before the exams and even asked us how we wanted the final exam to be! i got an a-, would def. take him again!

NO homework, no paper, just 3 eaxams. he completely told us what was gonna be on the exams. Plus, this dude looks FINE for a 60+ year old. i got an A!!

He is a great professor and i recommend him for anyone who needs to take Metaphysics.Heenan is the Man!

You go in...take a nap for an hour, and when its time to review just copy down whatver he says, memorize it, get an A, and go back to sleep.

Pro. Heenan is a good man, he tries to get the students involved, but it doesn't work. Although the class lecture is a tad boring, you will still do extrememly well in his class. Just show up (w. laptop so u have something to do) & copy the review because it's the same as the test!!! and you will get an A!!!NOTE DO NOT BUY THE TEX YOU WON'T need it

He is extremely easy. He gives you the tests word for word in the review. All you have to do is show up on the review days and take notes.

Hard to understand, but so is any philosophy teacher. You will be bored so bring ya laptop, just act ike youre taking notes. He gives reviews for finals and midterms make sure you're there for reviews and write down anything he puts on the board! Maybe ask one question here and there. Follow this advice and you will get an A in his class.

EASY A!!! He gives you the midterm and final tests on the review day so be there. Otherwise bring your laptop to class and make sure he knows your name by asking a question once every 3 weeks. I actually learned a few things too!

BOREST PROF. IN THE WORLD HE GIVES YOU THE Q&A THOUGH SO HE'S EASY .. TRY AND PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE HE GETS DIRESPECTED EASILY OTHER THAN THAT GOOD LUCK NOT BEING BORED.

He is SOOOO boring but pretty easy. Just make sure ure there for the reviews because he gives u all the questiosn and answers for the test(including the essays!!) Otherwise just try to rip your hair out with how boring he is.

He is Terrific! I especially enjoyed a session where we discussed what companies are doing for their outstanding performers...and the philosophical impact.

He is a very good professor. Tests are straightfoward and gives you many chances to do well in his class. Gives answers to tests before. Just memorize and there is your A/A-. I highly reccomend taking him.

Do not listen to the rating below!!! I have to say, it is true that he talks on and on, but just listen to the days he reviews for the test. He gives answers beforehand. I listened to peoples' advice and it worked, i got an A-. For people who says he is bad, should stop going to college.

This class was BS but I still got an A, I would record him only when he reviewed and type a review sheet for myself and read it 1/2 prior to the exam and would get B+ or A-. I also did an xtra credit paper which raises your grade from lets say a B to B+. All in all its easy but waste of my time, very easy to get an A.

You must be a total MORON to fail this class. He examples everything crystal clear, most of the time you will hear the word "Being"- the class is not hard. He tells you questions on the exam and explains them to you. Seriously...you must be a moron not to get an A.

This class is really easay only if you can commit about 8 plus pages to memory. He gives out review sheets but you have to memorize them word for word in order to get an A.

watching a plant grow is more interesting than his lectures. i always tried to pay attention and listen but always end up blanking out. dont really need to go to class. just go before a test to receive notes which is 5-8 pages. you will need to memorize it word for word to get a good grade. i got a B+

Dr. Heenan is an amazing professor. People say he's boring, but in reality he's just trying to make metaphysics (a hard subject to teach) clear. It's an easy class and if you pay attention you will learn SO much. The only annoying thing is he cares about attendance.

He is a very sweet and nice professor but his class is super boring!! Just go to class and pretend like your listening. For the exam, you literally need to memorize 5-7 pages but he lays out EVERYTHING for you! So, he's an easy A if you study what he gives you.

Dr. Heenan is brilliant. He is not boring. If you lock into what he is saying this class will be fun.

To be honest, I am not at all interested in philosophy. For me, it's the last thing I want to take. Professor Heenan is a good prof though. He's a very nice guy, he's fair and he does make it interesting. Just listen to one of his lectures, actually listen, and you will enjoy the class. His pre-test packets are clutch.

Noone ever wants to take philosophy, but this would be the guy to take. Hes as boring as it could get but the course is composed of midterm, final, final paper and 1 or 2 other exams. He gives the answers to the test questions a few days before the test so there isnt any reason why anyone shouldnt do good in the course. He is just extremely boring.

Truthfully anyone who's doing bad or did bad in Heenan's class can only blame themselves for not paying attention. I am one of these people. But if you actually try hard and study his notes you should do exceptionally well because he really wants his students to do well. Also Photographic Memory is a good thing to have to study hist pretest notes.

Take him for philosophy. Really knows alot and is real helpful.

Very boring, but seems like a nice guy. (7:30 am class) I rarely paid attention to him. I just studied from his study notes sheets. It is straight memorization. He also gave a paper. He did walk around the room sometimes during tests so be careful. I never bought the text either. Other than the test days, it was a pretty stress free class.

This Professor is a very nice guy. Class is boring and you don't have to pay attention at all. He gives you a review sheet before each Test which you have to memorize 5 pages literally word for word. There are 4 Tests and a Final Paper. Tests consist of Multi choice, T/F, Matching and 2 short answer questions. Take if you can Memorize everything.

If you like lecture classes where all you have to do it sit back, relax, and take notes then this class is for you. Some kids fall asleep and say it boring but I loved it. Don't be absent for the tests unless you email him with a good excuse. He gives the topics for the test and all the answers come from your notes.

A is a 92. The class is based on 3 tests which is 100% of your grade. If there is enough time there is 4 tests and a 5 Pg essay. He gives a study sheet of 4 - 9 Pages. If you memorize word for word the test will be extremely easy and can be finished in 20 mins. He also gives you the exact essay questions and answers for the test.

Super nice professor, also super old and boring. Class isn't easy you really have to work to get a good grade, which is hard when his lectures put you to sleep.

Just 3 tests and if time, a possible paper. Just take good notes and you'll be fine. He gives amazing notes which make the tests easy to get a good grade. If you actually pay attention, you'll realize how interesting the material is. Also, gives an EC ASL which boosts your grade by half a letter. He cares about his students, which is hard to find.

You're going to have a hard time finding a professor that cares more about his students. He will deviate from the syllabus if it means helping the class better understand the material. He is a very caring professor! It is unlikely to find a professor who cares for his students like him. He gives study notes for every exam and each study notes is basically the test. The only problem is that his study guides dont make sense at all and it can be a challenge to memorize it. He is very boring, but very kind. Gives an extra credit

Probably the best professor I have ever had. You will never find a teacher that cares more for his students, such an educated smart man, and caring person. Always show up to class no matter what and pay attention. He is so willing to teach and answer questions and help you as much as possible. Best teacher I've ever had in my life.

He lectures the whole class. Gives study notes before each test and is the exact same questions on it. However, the study notes are about 5 pages so if you're good at memorizing you'll be good. Also boosts your grade half a letter if you do ASL. He also canceled the paper because of time. Overall, he's not bad just lecture heavy.

He's lecture heavy, but minimal work outside of class. Just pay attention and memorize the study notes he gives you. 2nd set of study notes were a little lacking, so make sure to pay extra attention to the content before the 2nd exam. The rest of the exams had thorough study notes. Would take him again!

He is very knowledgeable. He literally gives u the review notes for the exams. However, they can be really hard to understand. Even though it's a lot, just memorize the pages WORD FOR WORD, and u'll do amazing. And Memorize the ESSAYS. He gives you everything you need. Everyone just sits in class and does whatever, just act like u care. A for sure!

Easy class. The study guides are the test. I dont pay attention in class and I have an A just because of the study guides. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want the extra credit at the end of the semester do not miss 5 classes. he more than likely will cancel the paper so its just 3 easy tests.
