Very unconventional lecture based on asking questions and letting you figure out the answers on your own. Although a great teacher he's amazingly biased. Walk in a liberal, walk out a dazed conservative.

his class is very intersting and you will pay attention in this class. You have to work a little harder to make an A in his class but it will be worth takin his class, you will learn a lot about government.

Absolutely one of the best teachers at Richland College. I learned a lot from this professor. He is very willing to help you if you are having trouble. You will get a good grade if you attend class. Quizzes are straight from lecture and the book. It's an easy A if you attend and pay attention. You will also learn more than you expect to.

I am a political science major, and found Iachetta to be very knowledgeable, but his teaching is very subtly tilted to the right. Quizzes are easy as long as you remember that viewpoints which oppose his are marked wrong...just pay attention to his opinions and you'll be fine. Lots of class discussion kept me awake:)

good teacher... you'll learn a lot and make e-campus accessible to you when you miss classes, and you can study from it and pass the quizzes. for mid term and final, you have to write essays... not too bad.

i only took this class bc my bf was taking it , but i found his lectures to be funny , stayed awake most of the time in his class, take this class, bc he likes debates , and even wrote his own book. he said the book they wanted him to teach from wasnt helpful , so he wrote his own, which i didnt half to read most of the time.

Mr. Iachetta is a great teacher. He has a good personality, so he is very likeable. He is conservative, however, he does not push it down your throat. He respects the opinion of others. His lectures are right on the money and factual, which makes his teachings credable. Take his Class. If you fail it is your fault.

Great teacher! He made me want to do research on several subjects. Got me interested in Government a subject I had little to no knowledge in. Reveiws before the quizzes. Easy quizzes. I have tried other Government classes this was by far the easiest and most interesting.

This guy has his own charm about him. he knows what he's talking about, and i was actually more interested in government after being in his class for only 3 weeks. quizzes are easy and he does reviews, and occasionally blinds himself with the overhead projector. he's great.

If you live goverment take him he knows his stuff. He also expects a lot out of you do your work try to me active in his class and you will pass. I liked him.

Quarky man who will grow on you. Very devoted to government. His textbook is online and free! You have to attend class and pay close attention to understand the concepts, however that shouldn't be hard because he does an amazing job at explaining everything. Yes, you must study hard(this is college) but I felt like it was worth it because I still rely on the information I learned in this class. If you are an ESL student this could be hard because of the reading. He is definately very conservative but I loved having the option of a conservative professor! I am taking him again this summer.

I took him for both Govt1 and Govt2 and loved both semesters. He is a republican and, like most govt teachers, reflects that to a degree in his teaching. I thought the course was very interesting and easy, but I also had to pay attention and participate in every class. He offers extra credit and has excellent study aids. He wants you to pass.

FINALLY, a government teacher that knows the aspects of being conservative. Loved his class and learned a lot. Mr. Iachetta's class was fun and educating at the same time. He incorporates sense of humor in the lesson taught and keeps students interested in the subject by allowing conversation as groups. If there was a subject that was not that interesting he would find a differnt way to make it easy for students to understand. I really enjoyed his class!

I strongly recommend this professor. Most students don't really understand his way of teaching but he is one of the few professors who encourages students to learn more about political matters that involve "liberty". All those bad comments are made because they earned a bad grade, he has high standards that should be met and they didn't meet them

Totally the most perspicacious teacher i've had yet. I had no previous interest in government, but i ended up earning an A in his class, as it was just interesting as hell. Oddly i just wanted to get a good grade in his class. I am a C student. his class was easy.

I really enjoyed his class a lot. I took him for both 1301 and 1302. He will work with you and make sure you know the material before you take the quiz. Everything that he lectures about will be well used so he isn't one of those teachers where he talks a bunch and nothing is on the quiz. He is a really funny guy too. A Govt teacher whose not borin

Professor Lachetta is the BEST teacher i have ever had. I actually enjoed going to his class, and listening to him teach. You have to try very hard to Fail the class, he makes it very easy to understand and lets you see things in different perspectives. I highly recommend you to take him for Government!!!!

This is a GREAT PROFESSOR.TAKE HIS CLASS you wont regret it. He makes the classes fun and interesting by having in class discussions and debates. Great teacher! Really knows what he is talking about. You don't need to buy a book, just print it from school website. If you want to learn something you need to take his class. His quizzes are not hard as long as you listen to him. He also have great style of humor . He will draw cartoons on the board just so you will understand meaning of LIBERTY

enjoyed the class he will call on you and you can pass but usually the things brought up in class are interesting. he allows people to say what they like sometimes for too long and some people such as myself may find themselves unable to have a turn to speak. textbook is written by teacher and you print it yourself. very handy

He wrote his own book & it is onlines, so all you have to do is to print it off. As long as you pay attention & comment during discussions & bring your book to class,there is no reason for you not to succeed.

A very fair teacher; gives everyone an equal opportunity to voice their opinions, no matter how far out those opinions might be. Alot of reviews about him are very misleading. He tries to get you to give every side of an argument consideration, not just one side. Very kind and willing to help EVERYONE. Easy class format. Alot of group discussions.

if you attend class and pay attention, there should be no problem in passing. Besides he does help a lot and the things he says are on the test. Make sure to participate in class.

The homework is easy. 7 quizes that are very easy; I did not study for any of them and got 95's or better. The mid term essay was simple; he gives clear instructions - just follow them and you can't go wrong. The key is to pay attention in class! If you hear what he says, you will pass.

Last semester I took this just to get it out of the way. I imagined it would be like high school govt. where it was all memorizing definitions. Boring. Instead, the focus was understanding the principles of our govt. and where they came from. He made us think through controversies and discuss them. If you like nontraditional classes, take Iachetta.

I enjoyed the class because I learned alot about the way our government functions and he made it easy to learn. He has no official tests. Just periodic quizes that are over the most recent material. He also gives a midterm and final essay but outlines them so that you can make a perfect grade if you come to class and read the instructions carefully

One of the best classes, and best professors I have ever had the chance to learn from. Honestly if you want to learn real truth about the constitution and liberty, I recommend this class 100%.

I loved this class. I became very interested in our government and aware of how it works. I liked that Professor Iachetta spoke his opinion even if it was not a popular opionion. I did not always enjoy discussing controversial subjects (who does?), but it does make you question your beliefs (about anything) and why you have them. It was great!

I found the topics of conversation very interesting. I like his personality, he was funny and if you keep up with work and the discussion broad you will pass definitly.

Do your homework. If you do your homework, which is really easy, you will do well on your tests. His essays aren't as easy as his tests, but they're not bad because he gives you step by step instructions. I learned A LOT, and he keeps you up to date on current events. His class is very fun. It's very political, so take it with a grain of salt!

I really don't care about the government, but I had to take this class for my reqs. This class was actually pretty fun because we really just talked about current events and debated...a lot!

I loved this class. It included alot of class discussion which taught us to find ways to get answers amongst ourselves. I learned more in this class then i have before and I usually don't take an interest in government classes.

Excellent professor. I learned a lot in his class and actually enjoyed it. Just do the homework (which isn't that hard and takes like 20 min) and you will be fine.

Prof. Iachetta is a really good teacher and I think he really does help in making the class lively and interesting. I loved the in-class and blog discussions and it was really interesting how we got to talk about current news and their relation to government. This class really gets you to see the world in a different "lense".

I think the class was pretty easy. That's if you actually did your homework, which I have to say were a bit time consuming but it's totally worth it since the quizes were based on the homework. And he really is tough on grading essays, so actually do them before hand and get him to review it for any mistakes. Otherwise he's a good professor.

Simple homework every night that is gone over in class. If you go to class, do your homework and pay attention you will most likely end up with an A. Most of the time class is interesting.

Easy to pass and do well if you read the book (it is a compilation of articles and quotes - not too hard to read). You work with the people at your table to complete a daily worksheet, so it is full of discussions and talking to the class about your opinions and views. Makes you think - it's great! The quizzes/tests are very manageable.

The class wasn't hard if you have time to study a lot but i didn't so it was hard for me. everything is in the book that he gives us. This is a great class and he is a great teacher. He lets you make and have your own opinions on political matters which is quite rare in a college professor. He wrote the book we used in class and we used it every day. All around great person not only a great teacher. Highly recommend him.

He is the best professor that u can have in college. If you do the work and try in this class he gives u all of the subjects u need to learn before a quiz. He also goes over the mid term and final essay if u need help. U can go talk to him and ask him questions without worring about anything, he allways makes time to help his students.

The quizzes gave me the most trouble but he gives you everything you need to do well on them. If you don't understand something, he will go over it until you get it. He takes attendance every day and you don't have to buy your text book which was a plus for me! There are 2 essays, but he will meet with you and help you. Very helpful guy.

Best Government teacher I've had. All the other ones just bore my mind and didn't keep me interested at all. I highly recommend this teacher!

I would recommend this class to other students because this professor is very passionate about teaching government and if you come to class and pay attention you should pass with no problem. He does require you to bring the text to class everyday or he will take points off your grade but on the plus side the book is free. He is also very helpful.

This class was the best class I ever took! I loved every day if it! At first I didn't like it so much, but his style of teaching is very unbiased. He teaches straight from the Constitution. He is a very well educated man and is willing to help you any way possible. If you get a bad grade it is because you didn't put enough time into it!

Was a fun and entertaining class. Work wasn't too hard and we have a lot of interesting discussions.

It was a very intresting class, and I learned plenty! We discussed controversial subjects in class, and he was crystal clear about his methods of teaching which helped me understand every material in class and pass the tests. It was so fun and easy sometimes I would start to day dream, and I'd still pass the test because of how great he explained.

The lessons are pretty straightforward and easy to comprehend. Iachetta's a cool dude. A little awkward, but ya gotta love him.

Dr. Iachetta's class was great. His textbook is full of useful primary source quotations and is easy to comprehend. As long as you do the work you'll pass. You should also take some time to talk to him because he's very intelligent and entertaining. I might have gotten an A if it weren't for all the classes i missed, but at least he grades fairly.

Professor Iachetta's class was awesome! I learned a lot than I thought would. The class is very interactive, and I liked that we discussed concepts as a class. His wierd drawings helped me to understand what he was saying, and the homework wasn't too bad becuase there wasn't always ONE right answer. He's a great teacher, and the class was a blast!

Pro. Iachetta is an awesome professor. He teaches you about life and not just government. He teaches you to find out the truth for your self and not just except whatever people say. Prof.Iachetta was a great teacher. I loved his "sacred" drawings, and playing music during class really helped us loosen up. He helped me see outside the box when it comes to government and I can honestly say he has completely changed my perception of government. My only complaints is he grades the essays really hard.

Dr Iachetta is an awsome teacher. I was never a fan of Govt. until I enrolled in his class. He opened up my eyes of governmetn and I really learned something. Mr Iachetta's class was very fun and we had great discussions. I loved how he got everyone in the class to participate and helped lots of people overcome their shyness. I was dreading to take Govt 1301 because it was not really up my alley. I took Prof. Iachetta's winter class and I enjoyed his class more than I could have ever imagined. The class was demanding but the knowledge you receive is outstanding. I will definitely take his 1302 class. Making the class discuss the issues at hand was the best aspect.

I just read a lot of the responses and I agree with majority of them. However, for the students who say that Dr. Iachetta is not a fair grader, is narrow minded and will only give an a A to the bendable students is naive thinking. If you want to go with easy teacher don't choose him. He explains so well, so missing class is not a good choice. The best teacher I have had at Richland college by far!! He is a great teacher,draws the best illustrations to explain what government is all about. He teaches you the real meaning of the Constitution. Nothing is based on his opinion its all based on the primary fundamentals of this country. He speaks very clearly and he is funny, makes the class less stressful since it requires a lot of controversial talk.

He was a very nice teacher and I did enjoy listening to his lecture. He is very easy to understand, but like a lot of the other comments said, if you don't notice it quickly you will soon find yourself bending to his ideas. The class is very bias and controversial, so just be warned that sensitive topics will arise.

I had a great time with this class. At first it's difficult, but once you're used to it, it's very easy to keep a good grade. The teacher is extremely helpful and willing to do whatever a student needs to help them pass. The book is FREE, too, and available online. Very rigid on expectations, very formal, but challenges you to think and easily approachable. Controversial topics come up during class, but he seems to give everyone an equal say. 8 exams (lowest grade dropped), 2 papers, 10+ online discussions. If you follow his instructions to the letter you can get an A or B easily. Many videos on youtube.

Excellent class if you are interesting in actually learning something. The class will challenge your view of morality in government. He will stand to his own views, but will encourage you to have your own opinion and contribute to class discussions. He will encourage you to analyze your point of view. Class structure is interactive and fun.

Rigid, but clearly defined expectations. Challenges you to think for yourself, even though you may not agree with him. Not afraid of controversial topics, has videos on youtube to help study. Approachable outside class. Biased, but who isn't. I don't agree with some of his teachings, but nobody is stopping you from forming your own opinions.

The hardest thing in the class is the attendance, if you miss one lecture, some points will be deducted, you have to be on time but the greatest thing is the book is FREE and it's in e-campus. he gives a space to the students to think and discuss the class is really interesting.

I really enjoyed his class. Professor Iachetta is funny and a great teacher. Even after I have taken his class, I realized that I have been relating many things with the values and ideas I learned in the government class. It may be require a little commitment and diligence, but it is definitely a class worth taking.

I personally enjoyed just talking about everything that pertains to liberty and I found it shocking that my liberty that everyone looks upon so greatly is no longer here. I find it with great sadness that our supreme court is very corrupt and power hungry that they would change the meanings of liberty to suit their needs.

He is one of the best teachers I have ever had!! The only reason students don't like him is because he is actually trying to get us to learn something and doesn't just give away good grades. He makes you work hard and earn your grade, unfortunately students now days think that is "bad teaching". Anyway, great teacher if you actually want to learn!

Mr.Iachetta is a very passionate and interesting teacher! He teaches his students the fundamentals of our government and how a lack of that knowledge is bringing our country down. He makes government so interesting and brings you to realize how dangerous it not knowing the true definitions of liberty!

I took him in the winter time and I really enjoyed his class and we discussed many topics which were interesting. He is very nice and funny. He gave us homework every night but he never checked and it was for a participation grade. His quizzes were super easy. We discussed many topics online. I will take him again in the spring.

Very nice guy, explains topics well. Very heavy on homework, and must read the book to understand anything. Do not take this class for an easy A, he makes you work and earn your grade. That aside, he is understanding and truly seems willing to help! I would recommend him to students who truly want to learn something.

DO NOT BE SCARED OFF FROM THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK OF OTHERS!! I took him during a Wintermester so the homework was heavy, but he made sure to go over everything. The quizzes were not hard, they were over exactly what we had just covered and talked about. The midterm and final are take home essays, that he does help out a lot with! BEST TEACHER EVER!!

I had him over Wintermester, although his class was work intensive, it was very well taught AND I LEARNED SOMETHING. Don't complain about him because he is actually trying to do his job by teaching this 'foreign' topic to us. He is a great teacher and I wish I could have had him for Govt 2302.

Made an A. Was Hard. Tells you everything you need to know if you ask him after class. MUST BE ACTIVE IN CLASS. Hard grader. You will learn things that will change your entire thinking of government. If you need an A dont take but if your like an arts major or something take him because the knowledge is worth it-if you dont need an A. Enlightening.

This guys is strict on his work and will demand you do his assignments. this is generally easy class (if you do the work). He does make class fun and exciting, but, again, he is strict on work, attendance, and stuff in that manner.

Professor Iachetta is a great professor who is very passionate about his subject and really cares about his students. HOWEVER, he is super right wing and has strong opinions that you may not agree with. But it was an interesting class and I did feel I learned a lot. Lots of homework, 2 analysis which he will walk you through.

Didn’t put a lot of effort into this class, still received a B. Email him for help on analysis essays because he is clearer and to the point with answers through email. He posts summaries in course documents which you could review with before the quizzes. In order of importance: attendance, analysis essays, quizzes, then discussion board postings.

He class is really fun, you take a quiz every two weeks and you have to write two papers and thats it. he gives you a textbook and he really likes participation. quiz can be hard if you miss a class or not pay attention.

Professor Iachetta is a great Government teacher. He keeps class so interesting because he doesn't do all of the talking and he humors his class as well. There is DAILY homework and quizzes like every 3-5 days (Summer) and he does expect a lot of participation in class. He made his own textbook which is cool and he really cares about his students

He's a great teacher! He discusses everything from the beginning of class to the end of it. I recommend taking his course if you are okay with daily homework assignments. The quizzes are not super hard either. If you pay attention in class, you'll likely pass the course.

He has really interesting way of teaching and his teaching of American government is very different than most others. He does not force you to side with his views, he simply tells you what the constitution says. I took his class as a high school student and did not think he was that difficult. I highly recommend you take his class.

Before you start, assume everything you know to be true is wrong. Start fresh with an open mind. Adapt to a new way of thinking or you will end up getting definitions confused.

Dr. Iachetta's GOVT 2306 (and 2305) is the best course to satisfy your government credit. His approach to the course objectives is fairly straightforward with a good level of brevity and depth. While his text can be quite challenging to read, it does improve one's reading comprehension and vocabulary a whole lot. Participation makes it enjoyable.

From the first day, he respectfully challenges the student's current way of thinking. He slowly introduces unique concepts about government that are worth listening to. He expects class participation and completed work and the grade depends on your performance. If you allow yourself to be open to his ideas, you can learn a lot from him.

Doing your homework is a must, including posting your thoughts about topics you discuss on e-campus. If you don't points will be taken off from your grade. All in all, the class is an easy A, as long as you participate and do the work he assigns you.

Makes learning about government easy. Never got it in high school and hated it but it easily became my most favorite subject in college. He is just one of those professors you have to take for yourself to see how excellent he is. TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

You need to read the material and memorize them. His lectures are great but his quizzes are too specific. He will drive the main idea over and over but his quiz will ask for specific details that he might mention once or not at all. Must ask for help for midterm or final. Again because very specific and deviations will result in poor grades.

This was an enjoyable class. First of all, Iachetta is not who you expect when you meet him. He is kind of goofy in a nice way. His principals that he teaches are contrary to anything you have ever been taught and if it weren't for the primary source evidence he presents, you would think he was crazy. I could write a book on why you should take this class, but i'm limited to 350 letters. It is more than a government course, it is a life line. I promise you take him and you will not regret it. But most likely you are here to see if it is an easy class. Well it is. All you have to do is listen. Every assignment is cut clear so you cant fail!

Must take, you will be honored to have him as your professor. It is an easy class because he gives clear instructions, but if you find it difficult to follow such vividly clear instructions and prefer confusion then this class is not for you. Dr. Iachetta is funny and delivers nothing but the truth. If you like the truth and your freedom take him!

Iachetta is a wonderful professor. If you actively participate in class, he will have you looking at the world and the people around you in an entirely new way, and if you don't, well, the class is still an easy A.

This class is discussion based so you must participate and there is homework every night, although it's more tedious than difficult. Prof. Iachetta seems to really care about his students, and while he does have strong viewpoints, I don't feel like he pushes them on students. I recommend taking Prof. Iachetta he makes it interesting and engaging

I wish that every single person would take from Professor Iachetta. Homework is graded on completion, quizzes are easy if you do the homework and pay attention in class and midterm and final are written essays, but he tells you exactly what he wants so those are both easy A's. He's willing to stay after class to give feedback. You will learn a ton!

Dr. Iachetta is by far the most professional, organized and inspirational professor I have ever had. His lessons are well prepared and were of interest to me. Class discussions encourage all students to actively participate, learn and practice critical thinking skills. Support is readily available. Every student is valued and nurtured.

You have to take a lot of notes or you will not do good on the quizzes. Make sure to participate and watch the videos or you will not pass your quizzes. The midterm and final are papers and are pretty easy, he also gives you another chance to get a higher grade on your midterm paper. He gives very good feedback that will help you on future papers.

He has been my favorite prof so far. He managed to get us to think outside the box and challenged our views during lectures/videos. But he just tested our basic concepts on quizzes and the midterm and final writing assignments so it was fair for those who couldn't care less about gov. Just watch videos and you'll do perfectly fine. Replies fast.

Stop your search! You aren't going to find a better professor for government! Prof. Iachetta really does explain everything, as long as you are paying attention. His videos had me laughing, yet they were so serious at the same time. I will always remember this man ... very inspirational!

If you want world class instruction from a world class professor, then take Dr. Iachetta. His class is tough, but that's whats expected of a college level course. You will come out knowing how our system of government works and how the government has systematically increased its powers beyond those enumerated in Article 1.8 of the Constitution.

Easiest class I've ever taken. This proffesor is not sleeping on anybody. This class will change the way you see our government. Be prepared to turn in hw every day but its easy as sh*t. His teaching style is a little different. He uses his own book and uses quotes or statements from other people. Once you catch on it is fairly easy. He gives lots of extra credit and excellent feedback. His video lectures can be a little long at times, but this may also be because I took the 8 week course. Easy class overall.

Took his course in the span of about 2 weeks. His class is an easy A+ as long as you participate in class discussions and follow his grading criteria on the 2 essays. In adittion, the essays are nothing big to worry about, straight forward and easy! The quizzes are super easy and makes government incredibly easy to understand

He is a tough grader so this class won't be an easy A, but he gives 2nd chances and a lot of extra credit. Multiple times I rush through assignments and I made a low grade but professor deleted the attempted and gave me another chance to improve my grade. He loves what he is doing and he's a caring professor, idk why his rating is low!

Quick fall online class. Completed 7 discussions and 7 quizzes in 2 weeks! Quizzes are a bit tuff, but I dont know much about government. He gives practice questions for each quiz, they are the same, which makes the quizzes easier. Has 2 essays, but you have to wait for him to grade everything before you can move to the next step. Extra credit.

This class definitely makes you work for the grade but the professor is super nice and a great teacher. He gives you a lot of feedback as well as two attempts at the quizzes and essays. I took his online GOVT 2 class over the summer and had no issues at all. I highly recommend him to anybody needing this class.

This professor was very helpful and gave specific grading criteria on mid-terms and final papers. Illustrations were helpful and the notes are explained in detail.

Professor Iachetta definitely opened my eyes in breaking down the intent of our constitution and the role of our government bot federal and state. With the online class, you watch videos (15 min) and then do a discussion board. Two papers that show your understand of the class. You have everything you need to pass with at least 4 hours/week.

Professor Iachetta is an amazing professor. He does amazing lectures that are insightful and the discussions are fun to participate in. There are assignments that are simple and 2 essays that are graded toughly. Overall, this course teaches you so much about government in a fun way! This class and the professor were an inspiration and an adventure.
