for the first time i understand math and i realize it isnt THAT bad. i really am not fustrated anymore, and i dont mind taking a higher level this coming semester.

I'm horrible in math. So I got a C, but for me thats good. He tells you homework is a choice. DO IT! DO IT, DO IT. It will help a lot. He is young ... so obviously he likes everyday stuff. He is funny and easy to get along with.

AWESOME! One of the most OUTSTANDING on campus. Homework is not graded, short quiz after every lecture (helped me accumulate pts easily), in-class tests are easy, take-home testS a bit more challenging. Is exceptionally clear, has fun teaching, will answer questions, American accent. I would take another class from this instructor in a heartbeat.

lectures very clear, goes through everything. tests seem easy, but he grades kind of hard. make sure your problems are PERFECT, otherwise you only get 3 pts (ea problem worth 7). no accent problems, he's also a math teacher at a high school, so he's only there during his class time.

Mr. McMillan is a great teacher. I am afraid of math and he made it all good. Anyone who recommends you not too take his class are the people who didn't study, didn't show up everyday and didn't go the extra mile to speak to him to get extra help. I think it is impossible to fail his class. He is too helpful and smart.

Cool guy. He is always ready to re-explain or clarify something if you want, and doesn't use that crazy arithmatic jargon. Instead he calls things "guy." Don't worry about clarity; or grading for that matter. If he can tell that you understood the concept but had a stupid math mistake in the middle, he gives you as many points as he can justify.

He's a good teacher, but doesn't show up very often. He teaches full time a high school, then at AVC after, so I think he skips class if he's tired. He missed probably 1/4 of the classes, which caused the material to stack up sometimes. Homework wasn't mandatory, but there were (almost) daily quizzes, where we got to work in groups.

Great math teacher! Lectures are crystal clear but, you need to do the homework because he really makes it look so easy in class. Make sure to speak up if you didn't get something because he is more than willing to go over it again or he'll give you example test problems if you ask him!

Best Math Teacher I've ever had. He teaches high school too, so he really helps you if you need help. You get a 3*5 note card for every test. Homework is optional although to do well in any math class you need practice. We got out early almost every class, The only bad thing is he missed about 8 classes. Check myAVC every class. Got an A.

If you're not a math person, take McMillan! Lectures are easy to follow and very clear, homework is optional, and some tests are takehome. He does miss class quite a bit, but if he hasn't gone over the material, he doesn't expect you to know it. Very helpful. He makes things as simple and easy as he can. And he's easy on the eyes!

McMillan is the teacher to take when it comes to MATH! His lectures are easy to understand and is very helpful. He answers every question crystal clear! His classes don't go the full length of time, u get 3*5 cards for tests, we had a take home final, and is by far the best math teacher i've had!

Mr. McMillian is a great teacher! He's probably the best professor I've had so far. I took his math class for the summer and the work load wasn't overwhelming and he cut us a lot of slack when it came to exams, he's just an awesome professor.

WOW. I HATED math before taking 70 with McMillan, I kid you NOT I LOVE math now. Being able to understand homework and test with little to no tutoring is so liberating. I took McMillan for 70 (B) and 102 (B) and I tried to take him for 115..but apparently he's not teaching it =[ Anyways if you hate, and don't understand math PLEASE LET THIS MAN SAV

I took McMillan for 102 and 130 and I am really glad I did. I have never had a math instructor who can so easily make you understand the concepts being displayed on the chalkboard. His teaching approach seems almost effortless at times, but you will understand every word of his lectures. He doesn't over complicate the subject at hand.

I have never been able to understand math quite so well before! The way he teaches is as if he's been taught by the teacher gods! Definitely, absolutely, positively must take him. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! He makes jokes and uses stories to help teach the subject. Also, his voice cracks every now and then. Makes class interesting.

He's really hot and make class very interesting. He makes Math exciting and very easy to learn. If you need Math 102, this is the guy to take. Just remember that while attendance is not mandatory, there is a pop up quiz at the begining of the class. Oh yeah, there is a lot of homework too but that isnt due til test day. GOOD LUCK!!!

Amazing math teacher! I have learned so much in this class since the beginning of the semester. He breaks down everything so much it's difficult not to understand (unless you weren't paying attention). Never keeps class until the end, is always very willing to answer questions. Loved this class. I'm horrible at math.Took math 60 the semester before w/ prof. Marder & had to drop because I didn't understand. McMillan was awesome! He's so laid back and puts no pressure on the students. I have math anxiety and I was able to learn math for the first time, in a long time. Wish he was teaching 70! I look forward to 102 though!

Do yourself a favor and take his class. Very down to Earth and helpful. Lets you use a 3x5 note card and calculator on tests. There are group quizzes almost every class. Lets class out early every session.

this guy is a all around good instructor. He is straight forward and if you think this class is hard its probably do to the fact that you lack study skills.His lecture are crisp and clear. homework is given only to help you on the test. tons of points to get with all the quizzes and homework points he gives out.

Honestly, if not for him, I probably would have failed this class already. He's incredibly helpful, very fair, funny, & makes things crystal clear. He stays on a topic until everyone understands. He does let out early every week; a few classes were cancelled too. Quizzes at beginning of class almost every week; don't skip class! Highly recommended.

Professor McMillan is very easy going. He explains the material easily and explains it several different ways to ensure understanding. The book was so confusing! I tried not to read it because it didn't make any sense!!! Professor McMillan's teaching was the only reason I passed. Great teacher!

I suck at math and I took him during summer and I got a B in his class. He is a wonderful person and has many years of experience. If he can teach me (I normally fail math) during a summer class well enough that I got a B then he can teach anyone. Just pay attention, do your work and study and you'll be fine. Do yourself a huge favor and take him.

I took him over the summer and I passed with a B. I am awful at math and I normally fail math classes but he is a fantastic teacher and because of that I was able to do very well in his class. I wish all teachers were like him, do yourself a favor and take him for Math! You will not regret taking him, he's a wonderful teacher and person.

I previously took McMillan for Math 70 and am currently taking him for summer, and may I just say how incredibly grateful I am for finding such a wonderful Math Professor who is caring, down to earth, and handsome. His method of teaching works because he keeps it simple enough to understand, organizes his lecture, and breaks down the detail.

Mr. McMillan is a very caring teacher he really wants you to succeed in math. Is one of the easiest teachers you could take he's kind, and he really knows how to make math something you will like after you take the class even when you came in not liking it. He wants you to succeed and he wants you to take something away from his class.

McMillan is a great teacher. Even with canceled classes in summer school, he never rushed through material. I would petition for him to teacher higher level maths he was that good! Do homework everyday! The homework problems usually show up on the daily quizzes!

Took over intersession which is feared immensely but he is a wonderful professor, teaches VERY well and doesn't make his class seem rushed or overwhelming, which is what you'd expect from an intersession course. Do your homework and don't miss class because he explains the math the way it should be known how to do.

McMillian is a caring, thorough and knowledgeable teacher. I am a right brain thinker and as challenging as Algebra 2 is I finally get it. McMillians explanations are simple and thorough. Make sure you show up for lecture and study for the quizzes and test. One of the best classes.

I took his class during summer and we got out early mostly every class but although thats the case, we covered everything we needed to cover and you actually learn very well in his class! Theres quizzes everyday but its open notes and you can work with 2-3 other people. also you use 1 flashcard for tests

Mr. McMillan is the best math teacher! Ive always had trouble in math. I took Mr. McMillan for Math 102 and I was blown away with how easy he would explain math. He would take the time to explain a problem and show you all the work step by step. Just pay attention, take lots of notes and dont be scared to ask a question, hes really nice.

McMillan is an excellent professor! I've always had trouble with math. This was my third time taking math 102 and the way that he taught helped me understand everything so clearly. He does give quite a bit of homework, but he also gives partial credit on test and sometimes allows a 3.5 Index card which were both a big help.

Took trig with him during summer session and he is hands down the best professor. Does homework packets and his test are simple. Take this professor immediately!

He teaches very fast but dont be shy to ask cause he will go back where you lost. Hes clear with explaining everything. Allows to have a cheat sheet so make sure you write every examples in there. I dont have issues about going 1 hour early. But he does cancel 30 mins before class. Lol

Fact is I have always sucked at math guys. truthfully. Just show up and take notes and do the homework get on khan academy online and listen to what this guy is trying to say and you should be solid. In all honesty this dude is the BEST teacher for algebra if youre attending AVC. Super chill and explains everything in full detail. He also doesnt mind answering any questions you have for him. Really all you have to do is pay attention, do the homework, and pass the tests to get an A

Prof. McMillan was a great teacher and I don't like math so that's saying a lot. But so much hw & test probs on web assign -_- He does make sure you understand the assignments. The only problem is he cancels class quite a few times on short notices. I took him Fall 2020

Very chill teacher. Allowed us to use notecards on tests which made them very manageable. Held office hours each week to discuss questions. Lectures can be a bit bland at first but they are simple to understand.

Explained concepts and definitions very well, and worked through plenty of examples. Lectures were very easy to follow along with. Permitted plenty of time during class for students to ask questions and gave thorough answers. Allowed the use of a note card to write down anything you needed to be used on tests.

Absolutely amazing professor he understands student struggles and explain math like it is easy as 2+2. He offered multiple extra credit opportunities to the whole class and gave me with video lectures when I told him I would be unable to make it to class. tests are easy if you study and the final was a breeze, just make sure you study what he says.

Professor McMillan makes math not too painful. His lectures are easy to follow, and he's great at explaining concepts. The tests are manageable, especially with the allowed note card. I found Unstuckstudy really helpful for quick study prep too.

Always quick to provide clarity and kindness and so accessible in and outside of class, whether it's for extra help or a great conversation. The most genuine and effective professor I've come across.

Professor McMillan is a chill/funny guy! His lectures are based off the book (which you have to buy). He has an exam after every 2 chapters with the HW as the "cheat sheet". He assigns a packet every class but it's easy with the book and lecture. He makes his classes work with their elbow partners so do not sit alone! Encourages u to ask questions.
