The class I took was basically online. He explained very little and assumed you to fill in the blanks. Individual help was not a big problem, however. Not a class if you're really not good at understanding math.
Very nice guy, explained everything if you asked him to. Math sucks, we all know this. He made it suck just a little less than usual. I took his regular class. Not too bad for an English major. I aced it.

I've never been confused about math in my life. He changes his examples on the board every ten seconds. He is spastic. And his tests sometimes don't even have the right answers.
This guy is not very prepared. He doesn't give good examples to get us familiar with the material. His reviews are whack also. He has a hard time trying to explain what he is thinking
Took him for College Algebra because I never took trig/precal in high school, and this was a prereq to both. Very, very boring class. It's a review of some of the tougher concepts in Algebra II; study logarithms and functions and you can probably CLEP out of this class easily. I'd advise against it and him at all costs. Doesn't give good examples, doesn't teach very well, very unprepared and is often late for class himself. Also extends class past the regular time. Don't take him if you can help it.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! Oh my god, this man cannot teach! He always goes off on rabbit trails and he explains things so obsoletely (if that's a word). He is NOT a good teacher, does NOT give good examples, and he does not know how to explain problems in different ways for different types of learners... yuck.. do not take him!!!
Very spastic, very unclear, very unprepared. He is a very intelligent man, just doesn't belong in a classroom. Very confusing explanations (if he gives them)
Let's put it in simple words; he doesn't know how to teach. If you want to know how bad he is, take his class, but you DON'T want to take his class!
Worst math teacher I have ever had. I took a pre-calculus class and he would start a problem on the board, get halfway through it, and say "oh, this is a business calc. problem, you don't need this, but we'll finish it anyway." An awful teacher who is unwilling to help. Don't take any of his courses.
He is not only the worst math teacher, but also the worst in CFCC! He shows you how to do math problems, but that is all! He doesn't teacher you why you are doing this. Why is this guy still allowed to teacher???
extremely spastic!! very unclear about the examples that he does, he'll write them down and then change them before he's finished with it. strange man. he does give you previous tests on his website though.
Very nice and friendly. However, he has trouble explaining concepts. Very difficult to understand. He goes back and fourth with everything and changes things all the time. Just be sure to find someone who can explain everything to you. If you grasp the problems he mentions in class and practice those, you should be ok. Math Lab HELP necessary.
He's a shame of education. Easiness should be 5. This class prepares students to go to upperlevel business classes, but he doesn't seem to be care. He does examples himself and never explains. This is not logic class. Many of us are going to need these stuff for business and he just mess it up. I learned more from tht book than from him.
I am very good at math and had never had anything other than a A, but his class was just sooo confusing that I was completely lost. He starts examples and then halfways tells us that he will show how Calc students do it and then say that we do not need to know that. he is just a nightmare as a teacher. He is also very unfair with his grades!!!!!!
Best math teacher at CFCC. Take this class if you want an easy A. He explains everything so any student can understand it. He lets you know what will be on test and grades leniently. A great guy and a great teacher!!
I took him for College Algebra during the summer and it was the easiest class EVER.
At the start he wasnt too bad but gradually got lazy and his test reviews became poor if any. His in class examples can be hard to follow and he's very unprepared. Kind of sloppy/small h.writing. You can survive but have to put a lot of your own time in. Doesn't use the textbook at all-dont buy it. Likes to come off as a smart alec to questions.
Weird guy. If you aren't good in math I don't suggest taking him, he's not very good at teaching. Prepare to go back and teach yourself some stuff... also assumes we are all going on to business calculus, disregards or plays down a lot of concepts needed for "engineering calculus".
Wow, I have never had a teacher like him. VERY unclear, wouldnt finish his thoughts, I was more uncertain after he answered a question than before.
Do not take him if you dont have to. He is horrible at everything at teaching. I got my first 'C' in my academic career when I had received an 'A' in the same subject my senior year of highschool. I changed my major because of him. Dont take him!!!
took his business calculus class in the summer, and had to withdrawl. maybe it was just too fast paced for me. i got a C+ in his pre cal class, but overall he is just very comfusing with his examples, and changes his mind constantly.he seems to have no real plan for class, just starts making up problems. if you arent strong in math dont take him.
Fairly easy class because he only tests your ability to guess what answers should look like. I have a feeling it's going to make my future math classes harder but we'll see.

He is the worst teacher i have ever had. I dropped the class. He doesnt finish his thoughts or use the book. unless you feel like teaching yourself precal, I suggest you dont take this class. Run away as fast as you can. Its horrible!!!
I can't say he is good at teaching math. Try not to get what he said in the class, because he makes every math more difficult to learn==.However, he will give out test base before test, and the test base almost the same as his test. Go to Math lab, and study the test base. And you will easily get a B or above!
Plus, test base wasn't difficult. He gave you the anwser on the test base. So you can use the answer to make out the calculation. In this class, all of them are MC question.Easy~~
I took the 3 prep classes before his and nothing can prepare you for his horrible teaching.basicially just ignore what he says if you want to understand.his handwriting is ridiculous so you can barely read what he writes and everytime you ask a question he answers like a smartass.and he looks like a creep
He's difficult to follow and doesn't go by the book. The only way I passed his tests was by listening to his review sessions. He gives no homework and posts all of his notes and review sheets on the internet.
This guy is literally a mess!!! Do not take him!! He teaches nothing valuable and make up his own stuff.. I dont know why cfcc staff still allows him to teach when he is completely useless in college, you are guaranteed to fail with him.. WITHDRAW OR DONT TAKE HIM!

Mr. Jamieson is unclear and very incoherent in his communication.I have learned not to pay attention to what he "teaches", instead learning from book and u-tube. He cannot stay on a clear path to instruct. Also, he seems to assume you know more than you do, often referring to his calculus class. Nice man, but disconnected teacher.

Do not ask him a question or you will be even more confused than you were before. He rambles on and is very unclear with his "teaching". He's nice but he needs to take some communication classes. Thank god im decent at math because im going to have to learn just by the book in his class.
His class was hard. Buying the book was a waste of money because we never used it.He makes his own problems up,so if i had a problem in my h.w. there was no way for me to figure it out. He gives notes,but the notes are the complete opposite from what is on the h.w. and test.
this would not be such a hard class is the teacher would teach the material. i would recommend getting another teacher.
This was a rough class to take. I am a math whiz, and hated this course! He is not a good teacher and does not explain things well. This may as well have been an online course, everything you do is online.
He seems like a nice person, but is the worst teacher (if you can call him that) i've had to date (from k-12 and on). The problems that are on the test are not from the homework, class notes, or book.
Ok, heres the deal with Dr. J. He is NOT an easy A, but he gets pretty generous with extra credit AFTER the first test. He does NOT use the book, so DONT BUY IT PEOPLE! Your grade is based of only 3 test and a final, plus 10% for attendance. STUDY, STUDY and dont miss class or you will be taking him over the summer. If you study you should get a B+
VERY NICE TEACHER THAT MEANS WELL BUT HE IS VERY HARD TO FOLLOW IN HIS TEACHING STYLE. DON'T BUY THE BOOK, EVERYTHING YOU DO IS ONLINE, YOU WILL LEARN MORE WITH THE ONLINE TUTORIALS THAN FROM THE TEACHER, I DON'T KNOW HOW I PASSED WITH A B.
He doesn't really explain the material very well.
He was nice i felt bad..but nothing he taught made sense. He would write down the problem and then write down the answer A B C & D that would be on the test...but wouldn't explain HOW to do the problem. I studied the notes and homework but the tests had nothing to do with either of them. He didn't explain well at all. I got an F in the class :(
HORRIBLE teacher. Very unclear, do not take him no matter what. Don't bother buying a book. I regret signing up for his class. I will probably have to drop.
WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD AT CFCC. I took him two years ago for college algebra and everyone sitting around me was pretty much failing. I withdrew from the course so I didn't have to take the F. Do yourself a favor and take Dewlen.
He seems like a nice man, but he is a terrible teacher. He gets distracted very easily and just doesn't teach well. If you are good at math, then you can pass with an A or B, but if you actually need to learn the math, then do not take him!!
This class is not easy!! Even if someone else taught it, it would still be difficult! He is nice and very understanding. YOU NEED TO LISTEN AND WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING THAT HE DOES AND SAYS!!! If you don't pay attention you will not pass!! STUDY GROUPS are worth the time. I almost received an A and you can too!!
Stay away
I really do feel sorry for this man. I believe he understands what he is teaching, he just isn't very good at teaching it. Reasonable, and intelligent, but sometimes 'scatterbrained' (for lack of a better term.) If you have a decent handle on math, you can do what I did, and just show up for tests. Otherwise, you might want to find another teacher.
Dr. Jamieson LOVES math, it shows in his attitude, but he tends to go off on tangents often throughout each lecture. He's more than willing to help you during office hours. The whole class period he'll do math problems up on the StarBoard and he'll compare them to what you'll see on the test. Class discussion is welcomed as is questions
Nice man but he can't teach. We use the computer a lot and I guess I am learning a little from that but not from him at all. I think he knows the stuff just can't get it across.
Professor appears aloof at first but if asked by a sincere request for help, is ready & willing to get students to understand the concepts. Many students stated he was "confusing" but also did not do the homework or read the online textbook.
Avoid this class if you can. That is all I will say. I wish we had someone else on this campus to teach the class. I will be taking the class again but not here.
He doesn't know how to translate his knowledge to his students very well.
Smart man when it comes to math. But puts wrong answers on study guides and also admits to marking some test questions incorrectly. Math tutors tell me he makes problems much too complicated for basic college Algebra students to understand well. Difficult class to excel in, despite hours and hours of studying and practicing.
I thought Wanamaker was the worst math teacher I had ever had until this guy. Don't bother asking questions because he will just make you more confused. DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN IF YOU AREN'T A GENIUS IN MATH ALREADY. Trust me. It will save you a semester.
I like Mr.J a lot. What people say about is mostly true. But if you do not understand what he is saying, just ask and he will clarify. I like math and found his class well. I did skip a few classes because I felt the math lab could teach me just the same. If your good at math you will appreciated his company.
Whatever you do, DO NOT take any of his courses. Unclear on problems when giving examples, sometimes can't even get his own problems right. Hard to understand, unorganized, makes thing more confusing than they are. Had to withdraw because he was unclear and changed due dates and I missed 3 chapters of homework, quizzes, and exams!!!
You MUST ASK if you want him to clarify, and he teaches as though you already know the material, do not take the class if you do not already have a good understanding of algebra, or unless you are okay with asking questions every time he writes an example.
I cannot stand him. He seems to only go over "homework questions" and "bonus questions"....I don't understand why he doesn't just teach what is going to be on the test. He just irritates me so much, and is an awful teacher. Definitely going to need a math tutor.

Dr. Jamieson is a very nice man, however if you don't already know math... don't take him. He is not very helpful, doesn't really look at the class, but again is the nicest man. Very knowledgeable.
This teacher did not look at the class at all. If you pay attention in class, you will get a good grade. His hand writting is hard to read and make sure to go to his class. He gives extra credit through class activities which are added to your test. I thought his class was interesting.
No matter what you do, do not take this class. He dosent explain anything. You have ask over and over for him to explain it to you. His and writing is horrible and rude

Mr Jamieson was a great teacher! A lot of people don't understand his arithmetic because they just simply don't attend class. Attending his class is extremely important if you want to pass! Also, sit really close because he doesn't talk very loud and he writes extremely small.
Professor Jamiesons Calc 1 was easy. Every test was thoroughly explained and his practice questions emulated the test quite well.You could simply take the practice questions, not show up, and still have a good chance at passing. Good teacher, easy class, lots of extra credit with added points on test Passed with over 100%. Just showup and be quiet.
I have never had as many difficulties as I do with his class. He does not explain anything and simply looks at the board. He will go over an entire concept with one problem, then moves on. Cannot ask any questions because he pretty much tunes the whole class out. Learned more from the homework than him, and I'm still failing.
This is seriously the worst professor I have ever had. The stuff you do in class doesn't have anything to do with the homework, and he doesn't explain anything at ALL. He just writes a bunch of random equations on the board as if everyone in his class is a mathematician and automatically knows it. I am probably going to have to withdraw.

One of the worst professors at CF ! Very scatter brained , and I mean that very seriously. He has a very analytical analysis of how to do problems , and if you can't get inside his head you are lost !
I heard a lot of complaints from students about how he was never clear regarding the material, but I don't think that is true as I had seen the same students understand it perfectly when he gave an in class activity after the lecture. If students would spend more time studying, I think they would pass. That being said, I enjoyed having his class.
This teacher is the worst teacher i have ever encounter. I just dont even know where to even begin. He lectures about nothing, teaches you stuff you dont need to know, makes up his own math, not helpful AT AL you will have better luck asking the wall behind him the question. He is a nice guy but nice doesnt teach and help me pass my class.
He doesn't even work out the example on the board correctly. He makes mistakes, doesnt teach and will pretend to be helpful if a school official is in the room.
His lectures make NO SENSE, he always changes his mind on what he's doing, students basically ran the class, never gave tests on time, he wasn't helpful. I was always good at math but lost my bright futures scholarship because I could not pass this class. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take this class!!!!!!!
This is the worst and most difficult professor I have ever had. This guy is all over the place and I didn't learn an ounce of math during the semester. He isn't willing to help you out if you're in a rut either. He knows the math but he can't teach it to save his life. Do whatever you can to get a different professor.
Mr Jameson is a horrible professor. If you want a teacher that cares drop this class and find a new one.

He messes up all the time on his examples and the students have to correct him. He's doesn't know how to teach to save his life. Students cried in my class because they didn't know what to do and he was not willing to help. Others just got up and left. Get out if you have his class!
Don't expect every teacher to conform to your individual learning style. Learn to adapt to different teachers as well. Mr. Jamieson is a good teacher. He's not going to cradle you like a high school student but he is approachable. So be prepared to take notes, pay attention, attend class, ask questions and you will do fine.
