I don't get all these frowns...Dr. Kincaid is too AWESOME...OK, the class could get a bit confusing from time to time, but hey his dry humor made up for it all.....
His class is a joke...it is very easy!!!
Lots of work, but worth it.
I had him spring 03 and he was awesome. The man is absolutely hilarious. His test are not too bad. You dont have to go to class very often. I would take his class again.
This is a typical business class: lots of vocabulary and theories to learn, and his tests focus extensively on the vocabulary, as well as practical application. In short, go to class, take notes, and don't be detered by his easy grading/attendance policy.
Kincaid is the man. The type of teacher you want to get **** with at the bar. His class is funny and not hard. If you try you'll get an A and if you go and listen you'll have a few laughs.
His class was very easy
He loves the AOII girls! :) As long as you go every day, sit on the front row, and pay attention, you'll do fine!! Ask around for old notes/tests/etc.
His class sucked. he acted like it was going to be simple, told us not to buy a book, then the whole test was from the book and not the notes and he makes no sense and I e-mailed him for months and called and he dodged me bad. HORRIBLE teacher, nice guy.
Easy class, I made an B and never went to class.
doc is the s**t. taught me more valuable info than my previous 110 hours of college put together. listen to everything he says and he will show the way to become a very rich man. yes, you have to go to class. but, if that scares you then kincaid won't want you enrolled.
Come on Kincaid is the man. If youre taking business because, you know, youre interested in business then he is your man.
He acctually has real world experience at making money unlike most of these fools, his class is tough and you probably won't have a test and pray that you don't because they will kick your ass. His classes are some of the only ones I have ever learned anything valuable.
Dr. Kincaid is so nice and he also knows what he is talking about. Tests are kinda hard but he often gives a curve. Take him if you can.
Great business man, not so good at teaching. I did learn alot in class on my own because you have to. No tests! But many group presentations. Class really help me get over my fear of speaking in front of groups. Only real problem is that his classes are at 8.00am and he is hard man to find after 9.00am at Lowder. Very challenging class!
Will not tell you clearly what he expects from you. If you go to class and do your work, you'll probably get a C. If you somehow figure out what he wants to see in presentations you'll get a B or if you're really lucky an A. Good luck!
He is an ok professor, didn't really have class much. I made a B..I'm happy.
it really depends on what you have him for as to how easy he is. If you are taking him for a principles class, you will probably not have any trouble with him. If you are taking him for an entrepreneurship class, he expects a LOT from you. You HAVE to do the assigned reading and being a mind reader comes in handy with him. Good luck...
Good professor with a pretty "fun" class considering the type of course it is. There are alot of pseudo-random quizzes, and they can be pretty difficult to do well on. With that said, the exams are actually a bit easier than the quizzes overall, so as long as you take decent notes you should be fine.
Professor Kincaid is really bad. Just avoid his class if you can. There are only two exams all semester a midterm and a final. Both are really difficult. The lecture notes don't correspond with the test material so studying them doesn't help. Study the book if not note My friends and I studied hard for every test and the quizzes and still made C's.
Dr. Kincaid is very easy and helpful.
Easy class he wants everyone to pass with good grades. He tries to relate to the class which is odd at times but overall easy class.
Dr. Kincaid is a really cool guy. We've had conversations about Honduran rum and his lake house. All in all he's really approachable and entertaining. The test questions don't come from direct definitions in the power points, but they aren't hard. Test Q's are repeats of Quiz Q's. All in all it's an informative course that isn't too hard.
Nice guy, horrible teacher for Marketing analytics. Does not communicate ANY expectations on individual or group projects. Gave 70% of the class C's on the first project and did not give any feedback or explanation. Does not respond to any emails you send him. If you're not a marketing major, avoid this as a buisness elective AT ALL COSTS.
He purposefully tries to be as vague as possible and usually does not give any feedback on assignments, including grades. I have no idea how I am doing in the class. The powerpoints that he lectures over in class are from the book manufacturer, but assignments often ask for definitions of terms not even found in the book.
Doesn't use canvas and doesn't give grades back, so I have no clue what my grades are. Has 4 group projects and two individual assignments, then a midterm and final. Powerpoints are from the manufacturer, so they aren't much help. He's really vague in what he wants from you when it comes time for projects and wants you to figure it out.
4 group projects, 2 individual, midterm and a final. Doesn't use canvas and doesn't give grades back, so I have no idea what I have in there. Doesn't give clear instructions and wants you to "figure it out". His lecture ppts are from the textbook maker, so they aren't helpful. Hilarious guy though!
He is extremely helpful when you approach him for help. Has a lot of experience that he is willing to share. He cannot be more clear of his expectations of you. Attendance is not "mandatory" but definitely helps when the test rolls around. Takes questions from the book he doesn't necessarily mention and info from lectures the book doesn't cover.
One of the worst teachers. Almost everyone gets C's and there is ZERO direction. He gives the vaguest projects and then grades them so hard. Your end grade is mostly dependent on how much he likes you. I just graduated and took 3 of his classes while at Auburn. Three of the worst classes I took.
I took his class over the summer. He is not very clear and you never know what your grade is in the class. I ended up with a C and i was there everyday and paid good attention. He made it seem that i would get a B the whole time. I was very dissapointed when final grades were posted. He was a pretty cool guy though and fun to talk to.
Helps you if you go to his office, takes the effort you put into the class into his grading, if you tried hard wgood attendance he's more lenient with your grade. His assignments seem vague, but the slides have specific instructions. If he says 'run an experiment', you probably have a recent slide with the steps of an experiment, just look it up:)
This guy has tests almost weekly, and if you miss them, he WILL NOT let you make them up (even if you do have a university excuse). The fact that he "waives" your three lowest scores is how he's allowed to get away with this. Take someone... ANYONE... besides him.
He gives tests pretty much every week and they're 25 points so if you get questions wrong your grade drops quickly. Tests have nit picky questions and he lectures way too fast to pick up on what's important. He made this a weed out course and doesn't take into account that it's a MKTG intro course and a lot of the class are non marketing majors.
Tests involve topics that are barely discussed but heavily weighted. Random extra credit to compensate for his horrible teaching. Was expecting much more from this guy since he seemed cool, but he didn't care.
The guy is the laziest professor ever. He seems cool but his attitude towards the class is terrible. It's almost like he thinks he's too good to be there. They should just let the TA's teach this class. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
This is one of the worst professors I have had at Auburn. He doesn't teach the information, he just tells you to study certain slides. He doesn't respond to emails. He was never in office hours when I went to ask questions. He just all around makes it obvious he doesn't care about this class. Oh and he gives an exam almost every week.
Easiest A or B if you give a moderate amount of effort. 11 tests, drops the lowest 3. 25 question tests, pulls questions straight from question bank so if you don't have the bank, find out who does and study all the multiple choice ones. Final is optional. Do all the extra credit and dont buy the book
It's a huge lecture class, and he changed the dynamic of his class to have a test every week on 1-2 chapters, but then you get to drop the lowest 3 test grades. It wasn't hard, but wasn't super easy, but the final exam is optional.
Its a pretty easy going class. You don't have to go and the final exam is optional. There are lots of exams and he'll change the dates without communicating it to the class. Showed up on 3 different test days and a good portion of the class would have no idea that the exam was scheduled that day.
Class definitely optional. All lectures posted online. Test questions slightly difficult if you overthink them. A lot are straight definitions. 11 tests, drop lowest 3. Optional final. Extra credit offered for stupid things, but why not. Get an A by the 8th test, and you don't even have to go to class at all anymore.
He gave 11 exams over the course of the semester. Worst lecturer I have had. Doesn't care about the material at all. It's more likely you will show up to class, and receive power point slides to learn at home that rather than hear a lecture.
Definitely the best professor I've ever had at Auburn. Dr. Kincaid cares about his students and only wants them to succeed. His lectures may be a little out of order but I can tell you that I have learned more in his class than I have in all of my 4 years of being an Auburn Student in the College of Business. I would/do recommend him to everyone.
Have made an A in all three of his classes that I've taken. But, he definitely has favorites and it is very obvious and very frustrating which makes it hard to respect him. He cares about his students and will help if you get to know him and if you go to class everyday . He isn't the best teacher. Actually, does not teach a thing. Easy A though.
Kincaid seems like a nice guy but is a terrible teacher. He never answers emails, and seems to really not care at all. Lectures are useless and boring as well. Didn't learn anything in the class. He does give out a lot of extra credit in class and the tests are really easy so take him for the easy A but don't expect to learn anything.
Great guy to take if you're a non-Marketing major, gives a ton of extra credit and tests are pretty easy. Optional final if you're happy with your grade. Easy A, but boring lectures and didn't learn much.
Lots of tests, but they are easy if you read over the info. He gives a ton of extra credit though. I didn't really learn anything in class since he just skips through the powerpoint quickly. He is super contradicting telling one thing to one class and something else to another.
Such a bad bad bad teacher. Easy B if you don't really do much, tests are all half from old tests and the other half is whatever he feels like asking. Gives extra credit on everything but won't bump you at the end of the course. Mixed feelings about the class but would probably take him again just to get the B
Dr. Kincaid is hilarious. Honestly, I only have two gripes about his class. Often he'll cut them very short (which becomes frustrating if you have a class afterward and are left with an hour of free time) and there are 7 exams plus a final in his class. Otherwise, I really enjoyed his class.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Never has lectures but has extremely hard tests, half of which he never went over in class. 7 exams total, which is ridiculous, plus the final. Barely has class which would be great but he never teaches whats on the test. Says inappropriate jokes a lot. Gave an assignment that took 6 hours and he never even graded them.
Dr. Kincaid is not so awful. He teaches using slides and there is a lot of extra credit. However, the tests could be tricky. Most test questions are from test banks. Other questions are from the textbook. The textbook is mandatory. His classes are interesting and I learned a lot from him.
Dr. Kincaid gives lots of extra credit various ways. Tests questions are multiple choice and come straight from the test banks if you can find them. Class is never mandatory, but he will sometimes gie extra credit for going. Don't ever bother going to his office hours- he's never there. Final exam is optional, 6 exams total and he drops your low
he quit using test bank questions and now does case studies that you have to break down and apply vocal terms to. first test was rough but the idea gets a little easier.
He stopped giving tests that are similar to test banks. He now gives exams based on case studies where any answer could be right. Still doesnt teach, just awful
Terrible. He doesn't lecture, has an exam almost every other week on lectures he doesn't actually go over in class. His exams aren't similar to test banks, which is fine but the complexity of the exams and the case studies is higher than his overall effort in class. He doesn't respond to emails and is rude when answering questions in class.
Avoid this guy if at all possible. Changed the entire layout of his class with 6 exams, frequent vocabulary quizzes, and a final exam. If you sign up to take his class from this point forward, it's your own fault
He changed the whole entire format of how he teaches from past semesters. He does not teach from the book that he wrote himself. Lots of quizzes which do help your grade. In the past everyone said take him but now its your own fault if you take him. The level of difficulty is hard! Find someone else..
The worst instructor I have ever taken. He gives 6 exams including final. He reads straight from PPT during lecture and just skims through not being thorough at all. He gives 10 minute extra credit quizzes every other week, and sometimes does not even have lecture after. He is rude when answering questions and has an "I don't care" attitude.
So he has done a huge overhaul of his course so his tests are now mostly based on case studies, which is ridiculous for a basic marketing class. His tests are crazy hard but he does drop 1 or 2 tests from your grade. He also gives extra credit vocab quizzes so go to class on those days. Also the grade on your final can replace your overall grade.
Just an overall bad teacher, you'll never feel fully prepared for the tests and won't learn anything in the class besides meaningless vocabulary words. He gives extra credit and drops your lowest test score but your going to need it. I would take another teacher, this class should be easy if someone would teach it.
This class was one of the most stressful and aggravating classes that I have ever taken at Auburn. His exams were mostly impossible when he gave us cases on things we have not talked about at all in class but still expects us to know. His 6th exam that we took in his class he played ROCK MUSIC during the exam. DO NOT TAKE.
He gives 6 tests and drops your lowest 2 test grades. The grade you get on the final replaces your grade in the class if its higher than your test average. He gives extra credit vocab quizzes weekly which add up to around 8-18 points to a test grade in the end. His tests are extremely hard, you have to analyze case studies. Avoid him if you can.
There are six test and he drops the lowest two. Over the semester he gave about a quiz a week (these did count towards your grade). The grade that shows on canvas is totally wrong and at the end of the semester they send out and excel sheet to see where you sand. Lectures are totally not useful just look at powerpoint and read the book..
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Changed the layout of his class and now it is extremely hard. Tests are insane now and you have to analyze case studies. If you are only taking this class for a business minor then AVOID.
Tests and lecture have noting in common. Seems like he hates his job but at the same time has cockiness about himself. Godlike finding him outside of class and if you're in class any question will be answered in a few words and hell act as if its a terrible question you should already know. Could care less about you or what you learn or don't learn
Go to his office hours or schedule an appointment. 6 total tests and he drops 2 of your lowest whic is awesome! He really does care so ask questions!! He gives a bunch of bonus!! Just pay attention and take notes and it is an easy A! If you do not understand something talk to him.
6 exams and he drops lowest 2. EXTRA CREDIT!!! Awesome teacher and short lectures. Go to him in his office hours and he will help you.
By far my favorite professor I have had. The class before each test date is a review day which is so helpful. He does not try to trick or confuse you. He lectures from a PP and uploads everything to Canvas as well as practice questions. I wish I could take all of his classes because he is that great.
Best professor I've ever had. He not only wants his students to take away valuable & usable knowledge in personal selling, but he's also set in helping his students find careers post graduation, too. I enjoyed the role playing exercises & this class helped me realize I want to go into a sales career. Gives opp. to negotiate out of a final exam!
Attendance is not mandatory but he will notice if you do not show up. The only "test" given was a midterm because majority of the class is giving presentations. Some individual projects are given but mostly they are group projects. Always in his office and is willing to work with you on anything. TAKE HIM!!!
He is totally vague. He does not give parameters or tell you what to do. Basically, you have to figure it all out on your own. You won't feel prepared for anything and he grades so toughly after giving you almost no direction. The assignments themselves aren't hard if you can figure out what he is asking for and how he will grade it.
I came into the class late and did not start on his good side, but if you show up and put effort into the case studies you'll do great. The course was very presentation heavy, so be wary if you don't like public speaking, but it gets MUCH easier as the course progresses. He's also super accessable outside of class. Just be sure to show up in class.
Cool guy, terrible teacher. Gives no direction and barely any instructions. Everyone was super confused about what to do about EVERY single assignment, no exaggerations. He never grades anything regularly so you won't know what your grade is in class until final grades are posted at the end of the semester. He's funny but try to take someone else
I had Mr. Kincaid during the Coronavirus pandemic. Our class became online half way through. Mr. Kincaid is the most caring, understanding professor I have encountered during this situation. Students all over the world, not just Auburn, are nervous about their grades and life! He made a point to take care of us during this time.
4420 (APS) was the unofficial capstone of my marketing degree. Kincaid will go above and beyond to not only prepare you to be successful in life, but will also jumpstart your sales career by landing you job interviews throughout the semester. Kincaid is beyond what I could ask of a teacher. Plays a serious mentoring role for all of his students.
No class on Fridays! It can be confusing and difficult if you don't go to class and don't participate. He can be a tough grader at times, but he'll tell you what you did wrong and maybe give you a second chance. His personality is like sandpaper, but he does really care about his students and wants them to succeed.
Dr. Kincaid is a very funny professor to have but he didnt have grades in canvas until the end of finals week. You have to be one of his favorite students to do extremely well. He automatically gives everyone at least a B, but you are basically teaching yourself the entire time. He also doesnt respond to emails or post anything on canvas
Dr Kincaid cares a lot about his students, but you have to put in the work. Class is always entertaining and Dr. K is hilarious. Go to class, participate, and ask him questions when you can and you will do well. The assignment expectations are always a little confusing, so be sure to ask him questions to make things clear. Put in the work.
Didn't put any grades in until less than a month before finals and gave every student the same bad grade. Consisted of a group project that had no clear criteria, and there is nothing ever posted on Canvas. I think this is his last semester, but if it's not, avoid.
Amazing
