Kleiman is awesome. He is so interesting and his tests are straight forward. No books are required for his classes. Only lecture notes. Class attendance is a must.

Tolerable guy (not too boring). Exams are doable as long as you study class lectures. His exams consists of objective questions, so don't expect to write essays.

By far one of the best classes and professors I've had so far. The subject is interesting and he is a fantastic lecturer. The tests are easy multiple choice, but you MUST go to class and take notes to do well. Very highly recommended teacher and class.

Second time I've taken this class now. I'd hate to say it's boring, but it is. It's easy to say that when you notice most of the class is sleeping or just tired looking the whole class. It is an easy class and he is a knowledgable lecturer. Just take notes and study, and you should get an A.

pretty interesting teacher & lectures. it's only boring if the subject itself it boring or if you're just tired. tests are basically definitions, theories, people learned in class. go & take notes and it's NOT hard. LOL @ whomever rated him hot; he's sorta old :/ but his comments make me chuckle :)

Great professor that definitly knows his stuff. There is only a mid-term and a final that are based on the notes u take from his lectures. Bottom line is you have to go to class!!!

I took two classes with Dr. Kleiman for the sole purpose of easy A's. Just show up and take a couple of tests. HOWEVER, if you plan to attend grad school, he brushes over WAY too much fundamental material. Trust me on that.

He is a great professor. I learned so much from him, but everyone is right, I missed a few classes, and did horrible on the tests. Everything he teaches is relevant in one way or another, and he gives great examples that are easy to relate to.

Took Social Psych, Contemporary Social Problems, Media Culture, and Research Methods with Kleiman, and he ROCKS. Great lecture format, very helpful... and easy class, AND you will get a lot out of it if you go to all his lectures. No book, no homework, A's are in easy reach for anyone.

Very great professor! Basically as everyone has said, write notes from lectures and you'll do fine. Don't bother reading the PDF's, they're pointless. He reiterates everything he will put on the test. Can get boring if you don't have a dry sense of humor. Great on the random jokes -- great professor.

Kleiman is a great sociology professor. He makes the material interesting, there isn't a lot of writing in his classes, and he is willing to help students out whenever they need it. I would recommend him to any student interested in Sociology.

I have taken him for 4 different classes , medical sociology, social psychology, contemporary social problems and media sociology. Really interesting and really easy. All A's :)

class is interesting but had trouble sitting in there listening to him the whole time hes very clear but tests were alittle tricky i pulled a b overall it was ok the essay he wants you to write is carzy though

If you have trouble sleeping come to HIS class. Says he'll let class out early & always says towards end of class "if I could say a few more words" -- the guy ends up talking for 20 minutes worth of a "few more words" (class ends on time if not a couple minutes LATE). However, EASY tests (mult choice) & NO textbook (Just have to listen to him).

class is base purely on lecture so you have to take good notes. you have a midterm, term paper and a final. class can get boring sometimes but his lectures are interesting most of the time. i don't find this class as easy as the other raters especially the term paper required. B class

IDK what these ppl are talking about 1 of the best classes Ive taken and easy.You dont even need to buy a book. DEF take this class! You will not regret it, sure he repeats his self, but the lecture is fairly interesting and he tries to make the best of it (jokes). Only 2-35 multiple choice tests and a 1 pg paper. I'd take any class with him!!! A+

one of the easiest classes you can take, he is very helpful and understanding he let me turn in my paper 1 week late! he is laid back. i recommend him to every one who isnt interested in the subjects....

Awesome professor,extreamly easy and clear in what he expects from his students. He goes out of his way to help if there is a problem. The classes are actually interesting. The people that don't go to class shouldn't take this Kleiman. No book, it is based entirely on NOTES.

best class i had this semester. easy easy easy. as long as you go to class you will understand everything. no text book (saves you money) only 2 short tests, and one paper that is easy to BS through. however, if you have the habit of missing class, dont take this one, tests go on notes only. kleiman is a really cool guy though.

Took him for Social Psychology and Medical Sociology. Great professor! Like others have said, tests go mostly off of notes. However, if you're a sociology major, invest the time and read the texts. Two tests and a paper at the end for Med Soc, and two tests only for Social Psych. Will get a B if you just go to class - A if you know your stuff.

Kleiman is extremely boring, but if you go to class and take notes, you'll get an A because his tests are very easy.

Good Prof, knows his stuff. Soc Psych was an interesting class...he is a little boring-repeats tings constantly, but is fair. If you study a bit you will do well.

I took this teacher for a summer semester which means the class were extra long. He definately knows his stuff, however, he tends to repeat things alot and can be a bit boring. However, the class was interesting and he made the course seem like it was less than 3 hrs long.

Great Professor for anyone that actually goes to class. No book for his classes which is great; any readings are available via blackboard. He can at times be borieng and repetitive but it is hard to have an exciting class about research methodology. He is one of the more intelligent professors I have had. Tests are very easy :)

Outstanding professor. If you are a mature student you will enjoy his classes. If you are not there to learn you will feel bored.

I really enjoyed this course. The professor is very knowledgeable. The class is pretty much straight lecture w/ little discussion, but Kleiman uses humor and narrative to keep the class interesting. The tests are easy and I learned a lot by doing the paper assignment. Kleiman can get a little repetitive at times. Very helpful outside of class.

I've taken 3 class with him. I think the others are rating his "easiness" on how much work he gives, and not the actual easiness. There's hardly any work, just a term paper, but the 2 exams are very tricky. Difficult to get an A. I studied and attended every class and barely pulled off a B.

No text book required. He speaks in monotone so you better be extra awake :)...He is extremly helpful and can repeat what he says over and over. The class seemed really easy but the tests are hard but he curves the grades. Your grade is based on 2 exams and a final paper. I thought it was kind of hard after my grades but i got a B in the class!

I had him for methods and for media culture. He's a good teacher - very clear, but EXTREMELY monotone. He uses a lot of the same stories in both classes and sometimes he tells the same story more than once. But he's very funny if you can get his dry sense of humor. I love his classes. He's a really big nerd, and he makes fun of himself. He's cool

he's a really cool professor. tests come from his lectures in class so even though he does not take attendance it is definitely important to come to class, he does not require a text book, which is cool. i really liked him. he has a good sense of humor and is really intelligent.

I took research methods at another school and it was horrible. Kleinman approaches the material so that it is easy for students to understand. He is a cool guy and stands by his word when he says: you don't need the book, just come to class for notes...everything he has for you as notes is on the exams...which are easy.

I showed up every class and just took notes on everything and I passed with a high A surprisingly. So the class is easy. Just don't take a class with him thats more than an hour at a time. Its straight lecture and he can go off topic quite a bit.

Great Guy!!! Come to class and take notes because there is NO textbook for this class. Study your notes! Do not wait till the last minute to do the term paper!!! You will do just fine!!!!!! Term paper is a pain because it takes ALOT of time to do right. I would take him again! I wish USF had more like him! TAKE HIM!

Logical, fair, and kind professor. For me the class was extremely boring, but I don't think that was Kleiman's fault.. it would be hard to make Research Methods interesting. I would only suggest taking it if you have to, not an elective. Aside from that, an overall good professor.

Took for research methods. Cool guy, but there's no textbook or power points - so attendance is mandatory, because without notes you won't pass. Final grade is made up of 2 tests and 1 paper, which can be difficult to recover if you get a bad grade on one. Hard to learn from him if you're a visual person and like things other than notes to study.

Took four courses with him and he was great! Recommend him to ALL! Go to class, take good notes and you wont need the book (if book is required at all). He's a really nice person and always willing to help. He has his class set up to where you have to turn in 2/3 of your grade the last week of class so that can be really stressful because you don't have a good idea of what your grade is. He curves well though and if you do what he says on the paper and kinda follow his example paper you'll be fine.

Took for research methods, can't imagine how bad this class would have been with a different professor. Kleiman makes it easy to understand, which is good since there is no book. Curves grades, very helpful. I'd take him again.

Although there is only 3 grades in the whole class (two exams and one term paper), he curves the grades to your favor if you attended lecture.

He is an approachable professor who clearly wants his students to do well. You have to go to class for notes but he doesn't take attendance. The class was moderately interesting but I did find it boring at times. Relatively easy though, only 2 tests and 1 paper.

Go to class and take notes if you want to pass! He is very repetitive which I liked because I felt like I learned a lot of the stuff he taught. The paper was a challenge, but going to his office hour really helped. We always got out of class early which was nice, too!

If you are a Sociology major and are nervous about taking Research Methods, you should take this professor. You're whole grade is based on two tests and a paper and there are no visual aids or book, so you must go to class to get the information. Tests are curved and he was lenient on the paper. Easy class. I got a B and probably shouldn't have.

GREAT PROFESSOR! If you need to take Research Methods, take it with Kleiman! Only 2 exams and a final paper. Although attendance isn't mandatory, he gives you extra points if he sees you participating and attending. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

Medical Sociology was not a difficult class, I recommend attending class and you are guaranteed an A. 2 exams, and one paper are your only grades. He is knowledgeable and likes telling stories, he is very repetitive, but it helps you to remember. no textbook required, he does post some online readings that are interesting.I recommend him.

The content is a bit boring but Professor Kleiman does his best to keep you engaged. There is no textbook so you have to attend class in order to get the notes for the 2 exams. There is also a final paper but it wasn't too bad, and he is great about offering help outside of class. I would recommend him for research methods hes a very nice professor

Amazing professor! Great course! He is cool and a great person. He's a really fair grader when it comes to the tests. You don't need to buy the textbook at all. Just show up to class with pen and paper and you're fine. He doesn't take attendance, but to pass you really need to show up. I highly recommend him and this course! It's great knowledge!

15 quizzes, 5 questions each with only 5 minutes to complete it. 3 discussions and a term paper assignment. Be sure to read EVERYTHING in the module before taking the quizzes, especially the "Key Notes" section in each one. He gives 2 extra credit assignments. Responds quickly to emails. Nice instructor, you can tell he likes his job!

1 mid term, 1 final exam, and 1 paper. That's it. The exams are all multiple choice and it's all from his lecture. So attendance is mandatory cuz he lectures straight from memory. So take notes of everything he say and you'll be fine. EASY A! From taking his class, I actually learn a lot. The stuff I learned was actually useful to me in real life.

The only thing hard about this class is that the quizzes are 5 questions in 5 minutes, so you need to know your stuff!

He was such a great professor. He really cares for his students. Everything on his 2 exams were covered in class and REPEATED multiple times throughout his lectures, so he makes sure that you know what will be on the exam. Also, he covers a lot of interesting material.

Dr Kleiman is a great teacher, took him for research methods and medical sociology. He is a little monotonous but he understands that people cant stand in a lecture for 3 full hours and would let us always leave maybe up to 50 minutes early. His grades for bother were 2 exams, midterm and a final, and a paper. Show up to every class and take notes

Great teacher. Always willing to help if there is anything a student needs. There are 15 quizzes and 1 paper (which isnt really a paper) for the whole class. Super easy and if you're going into the medical field the material is actually very interesting to read.

Entertaining lectures, funny, and info is relatable. Repetitive teaching style helps remember a lot of stuff without NEEDING to look back at all notes. 1 midterm/1 final. 1 paper (easy). You should go to lectures, but he has modules w/ that days lecture he's going to discuss (detailed), so u can use that incase you missed class (almost identical).

Great, informative course and he provides everything you need-no textbook required. Everyone should take this class regardless of major because it is extremely relevant to your lives! 5 question quizzes in 5 minutes may seem hard at first, but he only hits the main ideas. I would take him again!

Honestly one of the best professors for an online course I have ever taken. He has very extended due dates, most are a month long, makes it very easy to go at your own pace in the class. He sends out A TON of reminders for upcoming due dates and adds jokes. The class is set up pretty easily, and he gives fantastic instructions. DEF RECOMMEND TAKING

Wow. I have NEVER had a professor that cares more deeply about his students than Dr. Kleiman. I am so happy to be in his class. The assignments are mostly work at your own pace, but, there is a due date in place (as in, 4 modules due by September 23rd, etc.). Very easy material too. His method of teaching is great. This class was not a breeze. There is a ton of reading that is required for each module. The class is kind of self paced, so do not wait until the last minute to start the modules. 5 minute quizzes consisting of 5 questions, just pay attention to the key point pages. There is extra credit and an easy paper.

Easy to get a good grade. He is super funny and always willing to help. Quizzes are only 5 questions and a couple of discussion questions.

Low maintenance class. He's caring & willing to help. Anywhere form 3-5 questions on the quizzes are from the key points so always read that! Paper is very easy. Quizzes can be hard, but theres no reason to get lower than a B in the class. Theres a lot of readings but usually you don't have to read all of them bc the quizzes are based on key points

Great professor, easy class. Took this course for summer C and it consisted of 1 paper, 3 discussions and 15 quizzes. All pretty simple. The material isn't too boring either. It was self-paced and his directions are always very clear as well as his grading criteria and he is not a harsh grader at all. Absolutely recommend this professor & class!

He gives specific instructions and tells you exactly what you need to do and when it needs to be done. The online class is broken up into three sections of due dates so the class is not a workload if you spread everything out evenly! One term paper (easy) . 15 quizzes (5 questions each). If you need anything outside of class he is there! Take him!

He is a great professor. He answers emails quick and with great amount of detail. His grading criteria is clear. The class is 15 quizzes (5 minutes for 5 questions so you can't rely on Google, you have to know your stuff), 1 paper (with a great concept and no minimum length), and 3 extra credit assignments (discussions) worth 1 point each.

He is truly amazing. He has chapter quizzes worth 5 points each for 5 questions. This can be challenging if you do not do the chapter readings which are really interesting and short. He lets you manage your time meaning the assignments are all due at the end of the month. Very accessible and he made the course easy to navigate. 10/10. Take Him !

Dr. Kleiman is an amazing professor, he teaches this class which is very informative and useful, in very simple terms. He summarizes all the readings so that you have an idea before you dive deep in the material. His tone is very nice and his explanations are super easy to read. Learned more in this class than I even predicted. Highly recommend!!!!

His class is honestly an easy A if you take what he says to succeed seriously. Quizzes are 5 minutes so do not try to google answers, you won't have time and will do bad. Learned this the hard way. He's funny in his lectures and provides extra credit for students who might be close to the next level. The class was interesting and I enjoyed it.

Prof. Kleiman was probably one of the nicest and most caring professors I've had. And the class was not hard at ALL. 4-5 modules with a couple readings and a quiz are due every month or so. Term paper is EASY work and he is always willing to help. As long as you're somewhat interested in the material and can read you'll pass with at least a B.

Professor Kleiman is awesome. He provides so much information to clarify what he is looking for in the class. There are several quizzes and discussion boards but they are very simple and straight-forward. He is always offering to help if you get lost in the course. There are a few extra credit opportunities but truthfully you shouldn't need them.

Every teacher should strive to be like him. His assignments make sense. No word counts because he wants to make sure what you say has meaning not fluff. Information keeps you interested and he is constantly offering help. He treats you like he would want to be treated. You can work ahead and grades are fair. Do the assignments and get an A.

He is an awesome professor. I enjoyed learning the content in his class. He made it very interesting. However, he did give only 5 minutes on each quiz with 5 questions. There were 15 quizzes and like three discussions. The quizzes pretty much make up your whole grade so make sure you read the modules. If you understand the material, it is easy.

Awesome professor. Incredibly knowledgeable and makes the class easy to learn. Grade made up of quizzes and one term paper. For term paper he provides incredibly clear instructions and even provides feedback to ensure you do well on it if you email it to him with enough time. Also provides options for extra credit. He posted all material for semester at once so you can get through it as you please (it can all be done in 2 weeks). The quizzes are very easy (1 quiz each module15 quizzes) and NO exams. There are 3 graded discussions (very easy). He is very kind and I loved reading the summaries of the modules he wrote! Easy A. Highly suggest.

His lectures are so easy to read, fun, and actually makes you want to learn the material. His class has few due dates throughout the semester where 5-6 weeks worth of quizzes are due w/ a few discussions. You will succeed if you pace yourself accordingly (readings+ one quiz/week).

He even looked over mine the same week it was due to make sure I did it right. The material is actually interesting and I genuinely learned a lot when I didn't expect to.

Took this class in the summer. The professor open up all lessons for the course, so you can take it at your own pace. Lots of reading that was interesting, but very short quizzes. One major paper, but the paper requirement was unique. I actually learned a lot from this class. Gives great feedback and provides assistance if needed. Awesome class!!
