take good notes, go to class, great teacher
Very knowledgeable on all subjects, genuinely interested in class and student opinions...basically even announces what will be on tests. Great guy.
I found Korzi to be a really tough grader, and I'm a straight A student. But if you put the time in you will get a good grade. He knows what he's talking about and is good at conveying himself. You HAVE to take notes though, so no missing class.
talks odd... 2 6pg essays 2 tests, not very hard, have a B so far. PAY ATTENTION. Strict attendance policy.
good professor, he's a tough grader, but fair. come to every class and take good notes. Theres no suprises, everything he talks about will be on the exam. Good guy, willing to help.
really hot
Very sexy!! But pay attn to the course and not his looks. He is a tough grader so you must meet w/him as you do your paper or you won't do well at all. Make a list of the terms for the test and e-mail it to him. He'll guide you in the right direction.
All lecture. DO NOT READ. Tests are on lecture covered. He is a fair grader. Two papers that require no research just opinion pieces. Nice guy really funny great lecturer. Sometimes his fairness in grading can be labeled as hard.
Can you say hott? Oh yea ...however, that can't be the topic of one of your papers. Awesome teacher. He knows his stuff and makes sure that you do too. This is by far the best class that I have taken this semester.Im taking him again. Take him!!!
this teacher is hot!...and hes a good teacher too. you don't even have to read the book. just go to class and write down everything he says. tests are straight from lecture. there are two papers but they are not hard. he takes attendance.
Korzi is the best teacher at Towson. He knows his stuff, and is good at what he does. Willing to help at all costs. Not easy, but coming to class and taking notes is essential.
Although he is a tough grader, he is truly the BEST poly sci professor i've had so far at Towson. He will help you find our way in your term paper as well as on the two tests. If you want to learn something useful, take Korzi.
Best prof. at Towson! He's funny, really knows his stuff and is completely willing to help you out if you need it. Takes attendance but class is always interesting and he genuinely cares what his students have to say. Amazing teacher. TAKE HIM!
Not a very easy 100-level class. He admits that. He is kind of boring, but is very smart and knows his subject. Takes attendance. Always takes up the entire class time. He will never cancel class for anything.
He is very smart and knows his stuff. He expects a lot from students but is open for questions and easygoing. Not boring if you are interested in the subject. Take notes, read a lil, and do good papers and you will be fine.
I usually try to avoid classes are on the more difficult end of the spectrum, but, I take Korzi even though his classes often are difficult because they are so informative and interesting.
It should be mandatory that all Towson POSC teachers take a Korzi class so they can learn how to teach. He really does put the rest of the staff to shame and its refreshing to take a guy who doesnt wear his ideology on his sleeve. Easy B if u take notes, attendance is mandatory. Dont buy the book!
This has been my favorite professor so far here at TU...he's so great, makes the subject interesting and fun, I wish I had him for everything!!!!
The man expects you to know your stuff. He will make you work. Gives two exams and two assignments. Not the easiest grader but does good job of explaining the text in lectures which is not bad considering the text is um....well it's not the easiest reading in the world but that's philosophy for ya.
Admittedly one of the hardest grading Professors at Towson. He is tough, demanding, and expects you to be fully prepared for class and rightfully so. Do not be fooled by the seemingly easy-going nature of this Professor. But he is very fair. More than anything, be prepared to think and work.
way to hard for a 101....just because of his grading scales...hard grader!
Very interesting class...however, tests are very thorough and demanding. They consist of 7 identification, which have to at least 1 blue book page to get full credit. And 1 essay which you must explain every single detail. Took during summer session and pulled off an A-. Need to read book and goto class. All in all a good teacher, but demandin
One of the best. Hard to figure out his political beliefs. Very smart and clever.

VERY clear on emphasizing ideas you should know for tests/papers. go to class and take notes and the class is great. no busywork/hw. 2 tests 60%, 2 papers 40%. i learned a lot and had NO interest in the subjest.
He is an amazing professor for any political science class. He is clear with his expectations and always willing to help. His tests are straight forward and reflect only material that has been covered. He is great at fostering class discussion and values every opinion and comment made by students. Fantastic!
Good class, lots of reading and test are easy if you study and take good notes. If you do not you definitely WILL NOT pass. He is willing to help and is clear about expectations. This is not the typical POSC intro class; he talks about Socrates,Plato, etc. but it is all connected to politics. I highly reccomend this class.
Excellent professor. Interestingly enough, we actually didn't have to do those two essays others are talking about. I got an A- in his class -- probably could've been better if I paid more attention to him, and less to AIM conversations on my laptop...
Korzi was great, he taught the course more as a theory class than an intro class and made it much more interesting than it could have been. Loved it. It made me become a Poli Sci major.
Good teacher. Fair. Not an easy A, but definetly achievable with effort. Grading consists of 1 essay test and 1 big paper (25 pgs). Very open, no bias, good class discussions.
Very good prof. Knows a lot about the subject matter and teaches in a way that is very understandable. He is very fair. Grade is based on 2 tests and a paper.
Korzi's class is ok. Pretty middle of the road when it comes to grading, although hes pretty picky on grading papers. His class is somewhat interesting. All in all hes a pretty good teacher and the class is worth taking.
One of the best, if you major in POLI SCI take all his classes.
really good teacher. knows alot about the subject. tests are not too bad if you put in the time and effort to study. very good class to take... i would def. recommend him and take another one of his classes if i could
If you do not like Poli-sci, DO NOT take this class.. especially as a GenEd! Korzi is very intelligent, however, for essays he tells you to write one thing and not the other, but when you don't write that which he tells you not to, you get penalized. 2 exams, 2 essays. Essay topics are broad, but he's extremely picky & uses his red pen liberally.
wouldnt take again but good teacher. attendnce is mandatory and you can get letter grades off if you miss class. never get out early. class was never cancelled.
the class was not to hard for me but i really enjoyed it. if posc isnt your thing he may be hard but if it is, he is a great teacher. i learned so much and it really sprured my interest. two 7 pg papers ant two tests. he grades kinda hard but makes you learn the stuff so you feel good about it later. great teacher and class. i recomend him
Not a good teacher. Must teach yourself from the book. He spends 3 days covering a broad subject so even if you pay attention you have to study your ass off. If you're used to getting good grades without much studying, be prepared. Also annoying-always says "classic example", "at the end of the day", "it is what it is". About 7x each per class.
A great professor, straight-forward lectures. Indifferent to students though, but can help if you have questions. BTW, I loved his "at the end of the day", "classic example," and "it is what it is!"And yeah, STUDY!he wants a PERFECT paper, really demanding! (my A- in class was a surprise to me)ps: growing/shaving his beard is a funny part too lol
Not too hard. Just come to class! That textbook gives you the same info the class does, its just harder to understand
Very good lecturer, fair grader, wants students to succeed. Can get an A in his classes, a lot of writing on the blue book exams. One of Towson's best.
Professor Korzi is not an easy teacher. I would recommend showing up for most (if not all) his class. He is a tough grader, but if you understand the subject you should pull an A or B. Attendance is NOT mandatory, but go! He does use the textbook - so buy it.
Took his summer Congress class. It was fantastic, he keeps it interesting and really knows what he is talking about. Best Poli Sci prof at Towson by far!
I hate that man
Exactly what I ask for in a teacher. His lectures are clear, and you know what he's going to ask for on a test. Best teacher by far at Towson.
I love that man!
Very smart, you'll get a lesson in vocabulary as well as political philosophy if you take his class. He is by no means an easy A, i got one but its my major. tests are tough, papers are more tough, don't do them the night before and definitely come to class or you wont understand a word of the text.
take him! he's awsum and will help you on anything!
He's awesome, if you go to class and take notes you will not only learn a lot but you also will be well prepared for the essays and tests. there is reading but not an overwhelming amount. And he understands that not everyone has the best background knowledge and the only thing you need to use for the essays is the book, no citations necessary!
Hands down one of the best professors I've had at Towson. Makes everything clear, an objective grader, and will tell you what he's going to put on tests if you pay attention. He's fair, and will make you learn a lot.
In short, he's boring, he asks the class way too many pointless questions, he provides no structured notes for the class, and his tests encompass way too much information. He's simply one of those teachers that makes you work hard (you will read until your eyes implode) but fails to provide a big picture. I learned more from wikipedia. AVOID.
Professor Korzi is EXTREMELY intelligent. I just finished his class for the semester and I believe I did pretty well. It is a lot of information BUT if you read and take notes and actually study, you will do fine. Korzi's class is probably one of the few that I've actually taken something away from!
LOVE HIM! Best professor at Towson hands down. He is extremely intelligent and is willing to help students! He is a hard professor, but it is definitely worth it. I learned so much and really enjoyed his class!
This was not my first class with Korzi, nor will it be my last. He is truly a great professor - the best in Towson's poli sci dept. Congress material can be a little dull, but it's a great class and the discussion is actually interesting. Take this class, and all of his others if you can. I love Korzi!!
Took a special topics course on the elections of 2012 with Prof Korzi. He was very clear during lecture and knowledgable in all aspects of the election cycle. Provided a study guide for the final. I would absolutely take another class with him.
Best polisci professor at Towson hands down! He is extremely intelligent and knows his material. Your grade is composed by a Research Paper and a Midterm and Final that are both essay tests-don't expect a study guide. If you're willing to work hard and want to learn a lot take him! Great teacher!
Take him! Very fair and easy going. Class is all lecture. He gives a lot of information but is very clear, relates things to modern day, and will repeat things a couple times in different ways to make sure everyone understands. Tests are in blue book, all written. One paper. Very interesting class, youll learn a lot.
Dr. Korzi is the best professor I have had at Towson. Lectures aren't really structured but he makes the material engaging and it is not hard to pay attention at all. Two exams, both short response and one long essay and a final 15 page research paper but it is totally worth it! TAKE HIM!!
good teacher overall. very passionate about content. pay attention in class and you can score high on tests. dont skip class or you will fail, also be reader to read
Dr. Korzi knows sooo much about Political Science. If you skip a lecture, you are not going to pass. You need to sit there, listen, and take good notes. I personally never read, I just listened to what he said, studied my notes, and I got an A on all of the tests. I would recommend taking him if you are willing to put forth some effort.
Knows his stuff. His lectures are essential to passing the tests along with attendance. 3 tests & an optional essay. As long as you show up, take good notes, and study, you will do well in the class.
extremely difficult given we only had 5 weeks to complete the material. wow. the midterm and final were 12 pages on Microsoft word EACH. the lengths taken to secure an A in this class were ridiculous. he is very condescending as well
Korzi lectured as if he was reading straight from the book. Not very helpful or clear. He's an extremely tough grader and writes condescending remarks on papers and exams. The biggest problem is that he contradicts when assigning work. He told us to pick any topic to write a paper on and made (some) us change it every time until 2 days before due.
He is very condescending and petty. He has to approve outlines for our research. He asked for 20 sources on the 15 page research paper, but then stated that was the bare minimum ( C work) and expected more (mind you this is only a 15 page paper). DO NOT TAKE HIM, worst political science teacher I have taken.
Please, please, please take Dr. Korzi. Great lectures, makes sure you completely understand the readings especially when they get confusing. Three test and an optional paper. You can really tell he cares about his students. Made a scary subject like POSC super understandable and enjoyable. He is the best!
In a nutshell, all you need to do succeed in Prof. Korzi's POSC101 is show up for every class (and I mean EVERY), take good notes, and study for the exams. The material is challenging so you need to pay attention, but Korzi is happy to answer any question you have. I did not do the readings and I did fine just by taking good notes and studying them
A must take professor, but you gotta do the readings.
Three tests (mostly writing) and a paper. Lots of reading then discussion in class. No powerpoints or notes whatsoever, he just talks at you. Attendance mandatory. No extra credit opportunities. He seems like a decent person, but he is a terrible professor
Korzi is a great dude! He is probably one of the best professors I've had since ive been here (Im a junior). His lectures flow so well and are extremely informative! TAKE KORZI! FEAR THE BEARD!
This was the absolute worst class I have taken in my 4 years at Towson. This man speaks at an octave only whales could hear, so good luck if you sit in the back. There are no powerpoints or notes so you are reliant on him. Incredibly tough grader with no real guidelines by how he grades. What little you can read for his comments are condescending.
Korzi is an absolutely amazing professor and I would highly recommend him. He explains all of the reading in detail and only puts things on the test that were mentioned in detail. In order to pass I would recommend going to EVERY class and sitting up front. If you get good notes from him you will most likely get a good grade. I highly recommend him
This class is really DRY. He talks at you for the entire time. He explains everything really well but you still need to read in order to do well on his tests. His tests are surprisingly tricky for a 101 class but if you study hard enough you will do well. Three exams which are all written and one paper. He is caring and does want you to do well.
He is a very difficult professor and a tough grader. His class can be very boring to sit through for 1 hour and 45 minutes, and he does not give you any notes, other than a few words he writes on the board. The readings are also extremely challenging and does a poor job of explaining them. Take another class if you can.
Korzi is definitely an expert in his field. he assigns readings but goes over them IN DEPTH in class. TAKE NOTES. his exams are on what he says. I never did the reading and did well on his exams. hes very caring as well so be sure to talk to him if ur worried about his grade
One of the worst professors I've had at Towson. My sr. year, lv. 100 class, and the hardest I've ever taken. Only gives three tests the whole semester. Each requires 5 essays, fill in the blank, guess the author. Grading is extremely undefined. Met with him 11 times during the semester- don't ever take. I take heavy notes and didn't help at all
Hands down, the worst professor you will ever take. Condescending, disrespectful, and intentionally will give you a low grade on every paper. Complains about EVERYTHING. Terrible person overall.
Letting your mind wander during class will leave you on the back footDr. Korzi doesn't use PowerPoints during lecture, so be extremely attentive to what he is saying, and copy notes fastidiously. A-grade papers and exams require extensive familiarity with the subject matter, but you will leave every class having learned a ton.
very knowledgeable about what he teaches but he does not know how to teach it. The entire time is him talking AT you there's a power point with very vague details he goes off of but my notes could never keep up. Exams aren't hard but you won't have time to complete them causing you do poorly. There's only 4 grades total, too way too hard for a 101.
Our grade was based on online journal assignments worth two points each, all exams were essay-based but not bad as long as you paid attention to his lectures and did the readings. He DOES NOT use PowerPoint and will talk the full class time. He is not a tough grader but do not let that fool you. Overall, he is a good professor!
Dr. Korzi spends each class lecturing without using PowerPoint. However, he makes everything very clear and easy to follow. He lays out exactly what will be asked on each exam prior to giving them out, so if you pay attention this will be an easy class.
I don't know what the other reviews are talking about, Korzi is a great guy. Extremely understanding, really wants you to pass his class, and is very clear on what you should be taking notes on (you need to take lot of notes for this class). He goes over the material that will be on his exams & the exams themselves are doable as long as you study.
I really enjoyed Professor Korzi, he's a very nice guy and really wants you to pass. He doesn't use powerpoints, but if you pay attention and take notes his class is very easy. He gives very clear instructions on what you will be graded on and if you do the readings its easy to get an A. He's also very easy to each outside of class.
This professor is an easy grader, as long as you add everything required and your papers are well written you will get a good grade. However, this professor often just rambles during class, and the class often seems pointless to go to. The exams are in essay format, and based off readings. He goes over the readings in class but just skims over them
The class wasn't too difficult if you attended and followed his criteria. He often rambled and shared opinions, which sometimes made class feel pointless. He doesn't use slides, so stay engaged. Exams are essay-based on readings, but I just listened to his summaries. There's a research paper during the semester, but if you follow along, it's simple.
He isn't bad, he talks a lot in class and often goes into deep ramblings about whatever he's talking about, which makes me wanna go to sleep, but besides that, he'll help you a lot if you go to his office hours. If you do the readings, study for the exams the night before, and do pretty well on the research paper, you're guaranteed an A.
At first, I did not like this class at all. But as the semester went on, I really started enjoying it. We discuss things going on in the real world and apply it to the paper. The paper is divided over the semester, so it's not terrible. He is a chill guy and very smart. The midterm and final are based on stuff he discusses during his lectures.
