Unbelievable! Yes Passing class and not vindictive student. Does not help with 6 page test reviews. Only mid-term and then final test! Review questions are subjective which means you come up with answer different than what he is looking for on test. Watches videos from movies instead of spending time explaining what he is looking for on test!
Super laid back guy. Like , really laid back. Overall a great teacher and person. His class was ridiculously easy. Would definitely recomend.
I love Mr. Lashbrook, he is easily one of the best teachers at HCC. I'm honestly shocked by the poor ratings he's gotten on here because he is genuinely so nice and there for all his students. He is a very laid back guy and makes learning history very fun and kept me engaged in every lesson. His exams aren't difficult either.
M. Lashbrook. Wonderful teacher. Very interested in all his lectures. Made history fun and learnable. Easy and clear grading criteria. I would definitely take Mr. lashbrook again hands down. There are a few papers but they are easy as pie and he's not a tough grader so you should do really well. Textbook not needed!!!!
Professor Lashbrook has to be the best professor in HCC. Very cool person and a funny guy. His lectures are very easy. If you go over his review you pass his exams.
The Instructor made this class a great experience. He is interested in his students and is full of energy. He explains everything in detail and in a way that anyone can understand. I am not from America, and I learned a lot of things I never knew. There are two test (one midterm and the final), and he give a study guide which is pretty much the
If you have a chance to take him as a professor please do. He is so kind and he really cares about his students. I took the summer session and it was well worth my time. AMAZING Teacher!!!! Some writing but that's what makes it a Gordon rule. He gives extra credit as long as you are willing to do it. I would take him again if I had the chance!!!
He is really friendly explains everything in a really great and understandable way, understanding, available office hours, expects you to do work but is not too demanding.
Great Professor, gives great feedback, full of energy but get ready to write a 7 page research paper (which isn't hard at all)
He is very nice and caring. If you ever need help or have any questions I am sure he will be very happy to answer those for you. You could get an easy A in this class as long as you study the review guides he gives you before the two exams. Also there are written papers you have to do but he grades fairly easy on those. Just do the work!
I'm actually sad that this term is over. I always looked forward to my classes with Mr. Lashbrook. He's such a sweet teacher, and he makes it easy to learn. Just show up to class and you will get an A and actually know the material. He is so easy to learn from! My favorite teacher!
I enjoyed and looked forward to coming to his class. It was an easy A but I did actually learn. His lectures are not only just facts; he tries to engage the class to come up with their own ideas and views about the subjects.
Lashbrook was a great teacher, although his class was mostly lectures they were interesting it was more of him telling stories rather than boring you to death. Con, makes you write a 2400 word essay but 9/10 as long as you do it, you'll get an A. TAKE HIM!!
Lashbrook is awesome. Interesting in his lectures and all you have to do is show up for the participation grades. You have to write three major papers throughout the course so if you do well on those you're golden.
Professor Lashbrook is hands down an outstanding professor. Hes incredibly knowledgable and passionate about History and makes you really want to learn. There is a research paper but hes a generous grader and for the tests he gives you study guides with exactly what you need to know. His lectures are interesting to listen to and hes very kind
He honestly is the best professor Ive ever had. The classes went by quickly and the tests are based on the review guides. He is really funny and overall an amazing guy. He is accessible and gives great feedback. There are 2 short papers that arent that bad and a long one that you have plenty of time to work on. Take his class, you wont regret it
Great Professor, would highly suggest. I've never enjoyed a history class until I took his course. He's a funny and goofy kinda guy who tells great stories and makes history enjoyable. There are only a few assignments, 2 mini essay (super easy) 1 big easy ( pretty easy) and a mid term plus final which were both cake as long as you pay attention.
Best teacher I've ever had. Not only is he a great professor but he's a great person. He makes the material so easy to understand and he's so forgiving and understanding when it comes to papers. I got 100% for the class and i literally hate history (i got a D last semester with a different professor). Lashbrook is the best, highly recommend.
Sweetest man ever absolute king
Lashbrook was by far my favorite professor, his lecture is hilarious with quirky jokes that makes history fun to learn and easy to remember. Bad at dates? No worries, he focuses more on the event instead of memorizing dates. He does reviews before class when the exam comes and answers any questions. Great grader and a genuine nice guy!
Michael Lashbrook is the best history teacher i have ever had. He is very fair and funny. It is a class i look forward to going to, unlike other classes. He gives amazing lectures and describes in great detail and you can understand that he is very passionate about what he teaches. He cares very much about his students and gives second chances.
Amazing teacher! Very funny lectures that help you remember them. 3 papers which are easy to do. Midterm and final are very easy! Best teacher for AMH 2010!
Lashbrook was my favorite professor that Ive ever had in my entire college career. He tells the stories of modern American history like no other. You can tell that he really cares about the subject and that hes very interested in it. He makes you want to become a historian! 10/10 would recommend and retake over and over again!
Prof. Lashbrook was a great teacher, he was always clear on what he taught and goes out of his way to make sure you fully understand the context of historical events. He is passionate about what he teaches, balanced on any social issues that come up and is enthusiastic about helping students pass his class.
He only has a handful of outside class assignments and his reviews are just like the exams. You can tell he really loves history. He is super nice and understanding.
Hes a good guy. He wants his students to pass and doesnt make his class too complicated and fair. You make the effort hell accommodate to it. Id definitely take this class again.
Whatta great guy. I really enjoyed this class and hands down one of the best college professors i have had. Was respectable and honest with his students and I got a lot out of the class.
He is very easy going, the assignments are clear and he doesn't pile up a bunch of work on you. Very understanding, and cares about his students!
Loved this class for the professors weekly discussion questions, very informative and controversial, do your work (quizzes, assignments, and discussions) weekly and you will pass
Great teacher
Professor L is great, throughout the class the only major thing there is a research paper on the topic of your choice (mine was 7 pages and I got a 90), aside from the paper there is only short discussions, quizzes, and document reviews which probably would take you 30 mins max to do. Take him he is super chill and caring about his students.
He is a good professor and worth taking. He has one long research paper, but it is fairly easy. His quizzes were straightforward and were from the reading. Another thing to note about them are that they are exactly the same from student to student. The discussions were insanely easy and he goes INCREDIBLY light on grading written work.
you may not need to buy the textbook. you have to do one research paper to pass the class. I took the 6-week class, so there were 6 discussion posts, 6 quizzes, and 5 document reviews. Every week, you will be based on the document review to submit your discussion post. The test is straightforward and easy to check up on Quizlet.
Very good professor, just read the book. there will be a quiz and a discussion every week and also some extra assignments like essays.
This Professor was the best, Quiz and discussion board every week + research paper. Very easy to contact him, he grades fairly. I suggest you to take him
He was very accommodating and understanding when I turned in the research paper late & he was pretty lenient on grading. As long as you put some thought and effort into the discussion boards you got an A, and for the quizzes(just multiple choice and true/false Q's) just read the assigned chapter, take some notes, and study a bit & you'll do fine.
He is a great professor, easy A as long as you participate in the discussions and complete weekly quizzes. I loved the weekly discussions, learned a lot.
Awesome teacher. You can find the book on z-lib and tests on Quizlet/Subjecto. 5 Doc Reviews 6 Discussions 6 Quizzes 1 Research Paper. Easy A! Phenomenal feedback. One of my favorite classes.
Professor Lashbrook was great. He made the class enjoyable, interesting and was willing to work with any special needs / requests of the students. I actually learned a lot of fascinating info from this class. I would highly recommend.
Great teacher easy A. Just do your homework and participate in the weekly discussions.
Professor Lashbrook is one of the best professors I've taken online! His class was simple and there is no final exam so you're graded only from homework and discussions. His quizzes are easy and the assignments take so little time. You will need to buy the book and write a few papers but he's a great teacher.
This was the first ever dual enrollment class I took and he was amazing, I loved his class so much. I finished with a 98% and I didn't do much.
I really liked Lashbrook. I read a lot in his class from the book in order to answer the weekly discussions. Don't plagiarize someone else's discussion bc I think he booted someone out of his class for doing that. There's a discussion, quiz, and 3 other assignments due every week. There was also a research paper at the end 5-6 pages long.
His class was super straight forward, everything was super simple as long as you followed the directions probably. He gives really feedback on assignments and is a really easy grader if you just apply yourself, would 100% recommend his class.
Always provides feedback. We also got to connect with other students by participating in a discussion board each week and it was fun to see everyones opinions. Normally you have to read a lot, but sometimes he did provide us with a video of him explaining a certain subject.
I took this class online in fall 2021 and Prof. Lashbrook made the class super easy and every assignment was super easy and explained very thoroughly. There was three assignments due every week but I was able to finish them within like an hour because of how easy they were. If you have to take this class I would 100% recommend prof. Lashbrook.

By far, Professor Lashbrook has been the BEST teacher and experience I have had in college. His curriculum is excellent/easy and he truly cares about his student's experience and learning. He goes the extra mile to explain the materials and is a very fair grader. I wish I had him as a professor in all of my classes.
Prof. Lashbrook is an amazing person, he is caring and shows that he cares about his students. He is passionate about History and will help you understand it better with the assignments that he assigns every week. He does assign a couple assignments each week but they are easy to do and understand. If you have the chance to take him. TAKE HIM.
Take this professor, trust me! I am so glad I had Lashbrook, despite the class being VERY reading heavy. Lots to do in a 6 week online course, but he leaves feedback on everything and if you just do the reading, you'll do fine. Most homework is opinion based which is amazing and exactly how history should be taught. He clearly loves what he does!
This class was super easy!! 6 assignments due by Sunday 11:59. 10-question quiz every week, with the other assignments. One 4-5 page essay.
He's an amazing professor and tries to make the material and instruction as understandable as possible. There is a lot of reading for this class, so be prepared for that, but apart from that, he was great!
Great teacher, loved his lectures, learned so much with this class.
One of the best professors I've had at HCC. Usually for an 8 week class I'm overwhelmed with work but I felt like his coursework was manageable and enjoyable. There is an essay at the end but you get to choose your topic. I highly recommend taking his class. He gives good feedback as well.
Professor Lahsbrook is seriously one of the best (if not the best) Professors I've ever had. He's so nice and caring, very sincere about what he teaches. He is very clear and thorough and overall the class is pretty easy.
Honestly this was first college class ever and this class was the perfect easy intro! This class in VERY EASY and super point shoot. Each week consists of reading from the textbook, a quiz, online textbook MCC work, and like 3 discussion questions. As well as 1 research paper during the semester, overall 1-2 hours of work per week, super easy A!
Mr.Lashbrook was probably my favorite teacher at HCC. I took his online class for the fall semester and was actually sad when it ended. When you first enter the class it looks like he gives a lot of assignments but they are all fairly easy and actually pose interesting topics to respond to. I truly enjoyed this class so much and felt I learned alot
Professor Lashbrook was fantastic. He made the class very easy. I ended with like 99%. Weekly readings, textbook assignment (work on until you get 100%), discussions, quizzes, and a couple other written assignments. One research paper due towards the end (you can choose your own topic).
I loved this Professor. There is a good reason why he is 5/5 stars. I learned more history in his class then I did my entire Middle & H.S. years. There is a lot of reading, but it's worth it to read. Gives great feedback on his assignments. I did the 12 week course, it does look like a lot of assignments, but if you read, they are easy.
Professor Lashbrook has to be one of my favorite teachers at HCC. Although his class has a lot work and reading, it's an easy A. Put effort into everything and you'll get good grades. There is no midterm or final just a research paper. He is so nice and understanding. Im going to miss having him as a teacher.
Professor Lashbrook is an amazing teacher. A lot of reading is involved, but I have learned so much so I think its worth it. The class is very straight to the point and the assignments are the same every week. The only thing I could say is that he can take a bit to grade things, but overall, he is a great teacher and the class is an easy A.
Professor Lashbrook was amazing, and I recommend him to all students. He made history fun and a lot of the work was opinion based. One final paper that was super easy. Take his class!
Great Prof., will truly help you if needed. Easy A. Great guy that loves his job!
Very nice professor! I enjoyed his class. He does have a lot of discussions and interactive quizzes but if you do those assignments, it is pretty easy to get an "A" in the class. You do have to do a research paper. When watching his videos, he gives you the answer to the question(s) so pay attention. This class was great.
Awesome professor. Only assignment that took a chunk of time to complete was the Research paper. I almost ended the class with an 100, and the class kept me actively engaged. Professor Lashbrook cares about each student, and every assignment is simple and has clear grading criteria, with feedback given on each one as well. Easy and fun class!
There are weekly readings, 1 quiz, a few small writing assignments that require 2 to 3 sentences. The biggest assignment is the one essay that the end which isnt bad at all. Professor Lashbrook grades very generously as well. I loved watching his weekly short videos on what we were learning. Take him!!
I loved taking this class with Professor Lashbrook, he was a great professor and although it was a lot of homework and hard work he graded fairly and gave good feedback on every assignment. I will recommend everyone to take this class with him he's great.
Professor Lashbrook has been an amazing teacher, he makes sure to give commentary on assignments and points out what you did well. He also made the class very fun and interactive. I felt that I learned so much in this class and wished he had taught other subjects.
Prof. Lashbrook is such a good professor. Although there were a lot of assignments due each week (around 6-8), he makes it clear to his students that he wants them to succeed and provides clear grading criteria. There was no final for the course other than the research paper. I would love to have this professor again in the future!
Prof Lashbrook was the best teacher i've ever had, PICK HIM.
I would 100% take his class again, he is such a nice guy and I've learned so much in the class. He gives great and helpful feedback and the workload isn't horrible.
Amazing professor, would take a again. Truly cares about students and the content is enjoyable.
PICK HIM! I had 2010 AMH for 24' summer and it was lightwork! Most assignments were 5-10 points! Great feedback and is not hard to work with. I took AMH 2010 by mistake but don't regret it I got a 97.97%. I have to take AMH2020 24' fall and I am not worried. The textbook is required but I don't think I paid. GREAT TEACHER OVERALL.
Great professor. Had him in spring 2023 online. I don't recall doing any papers. So if there are any maybe one or two. Easy assignments, replaced discussions with live meetings/lecture. I loved that as I would rather participate instead of writing. Easy to message or get in contact with. I wish I could take him for another history class.
Cant recommend him enough. He makes the content easy and enjoyable, I only a C because I fell behind, but its an easy class. He does take a while to grade but he's a loose grader so as long as you put in effort you can assume its an A. There's like 5-6 assignments a week but they're all short, just pace yourself ! Would 100% take again :)
This Professor was the best!! There was about 7 assignments dropped every week and it was annoying on my part because I had 4 other classes and I had about 23 assignments a week total, It was a bit frustrating but the assignments were pretty short and easy, he gives really great feedback and I definitely advise taking him as a professor!
Professor Lashbrook is caring and amazing! You'll learn a lot in his class. He assigns weekly activities to reinforce lessons and keep students engaged. With a clear grading rubric and regular deadline reminders, his feedback is always insightful. To succeed, stay on top of homework and meet all deadlines. He's one of the best professors!
He's literally the best professor ever. Assignments may look like a lot, but he sets up one module every week that outlines what you have to do. They are fairly easy. One assignment can be done by simply joining a call with him. It's so fun. You can either text in the chat or open up your mic. He gives instant feedback. Very flexible and nice.
At first it looks like a lot of work when you look at the course load, but it's actually really simple to complete. He grades very fairly and gives very quick feedback. Super accommodating, willing to give extension on deadlines if there's a valid reason. Overall, a really great professor and made me super interested in learning about history!
He is an amazing professor who truly cares about his students. The material is thought provoking and fun to do and his weekly dialogue issue assigment is super fun and i would hughly recomend attending the live meeting for it. (its either the live or you write a paragraph and submit it.)
The best teacher I've ever had to be honest. Incredibly passionate about history and knows everything off the top of his head. you'll never be bored in his class. A discussion post after each class but they're incredibly easy.
Professor Lashbrook was a great history professor. I believe I really learned from his course, even though I took it online. There was a lot to read, but the assignments were easy to do because you could redo them until you got a grade that you were satisfied with. I really enjoyed the program he used, but just know that everything was online :)
This teacher is unbelievably amazing. He has A LOT of reading in his assignments but its worth it. His canvas is laid out perfectly everything is in order the due dates are specific and he even will comment on your assignment if he feels you had a good reply to give positive reinforcement. I like him a lot and would take him again in a heartbeat.
Although I still have a few weeks left of this class, I know I'm ending up with an A. He is genuinely a great and knowledgeable human being. He's very passionate about history and you will learn a lot. Provides great feedback on assignments. You can tell he really cares about his students. The assignments are also relatively easy. Take this course!
I recommend everyone to take Professor Lashbrook. His assignment is straightforward to keep up with, and he is very passionate about his teaching. There is an essay that you'd have to do for the midterm and final exam. His class is easy; there is no reason to fail.
Professor Lashbrook is amazing! I highly recommend him. Taking his 11 week online course and have maintained an A+ in his class all semester. The class is based around the free online textbook, pretty long readings every week, and then 6-7 assignments reflecting on the weekly readings. Does not grade too harshly and gives great feedback!
