He is so cool. Every day, he lectures and tells you everything you need to know for the quizzes. Quizzes are worth everything plus one paper. You have to study but if you do, you will get an A. He is super helpful and nice/funny.

If you do the reading, keep up with notes, and ask questions, you'll do very well in this class. Gives lots of opportunities to make good on missed quizzes, very fair guy. His comments on the required paper were a bit strange, like he wasn't familiar with different ways of "citing" within a text (only one way he liked), but otherwise take him.

He is one of the best teachers I have ever had.He is very clear, organized and helpful with students.His test are predictable and (if you read the material) easy.You have to write a mid term paper, but he is willing to answer questions and give suggestions. I hardly recommend him. Very, very nice person.

Professor Laurent is an excellant teacher. This class is very easy. I barely read the book at all. The tests are easy. You basically only need to skim over notes taken in class for the quizzes. The midterm essay is very broad and he grades very generously. He is very funny and interesting. He is one of my favorite SMC teachers.

He is a very caring and kind teacher. His class isn't hard and he makes it fun. You can tell that he truly cares about not only the subject he teaches but also the students individually. I have learned so much in his class and truly recommend it to everyone.

Dr. Laurent is as amusing to watch as he is to listen to. He relates everything to things his students will understand, and that makes it easier to remember all that great stuff!

Wow!! Sometimes I thought he was stoned. Now i just know that he is laid back and "goes with the flow". His tests are difficult and he has you study a ton of info., but it all makes sense in the end. His term paper is very unspecific so ask a lot of questions.

EASIEST PSYCH CLASS I'VE EVER TOOK. LECTURES ARE THE BEST. DONT REALLY NEED THE BOOK TO PASS THE CLASS. HIS LECTURES ARE EASY TO UNDERSTAND, BUT THE CHALLENGE IS TO MEMORIZE EVERYTHING FOR THE QUIZZES. AROUND 5 QUIZZES IN TOTAL AND 1 RESEARCH PAPER. PAPER WAS PRETTY EASY. HAVE TO ATTEND THE CLASSES! TAKE HIM TO GET AN A!

Im still takin this class, (fall/06) but he is great. The quizes so far are straight out of his lessons. I had taking this class before and hated it; however he makes it so interesting that you dont want to miss a day. Highly recommend it

one of the best teachers/professors i've ever had in my life. he's interesting, you don't zone out while he's talking, and he never gives "busy work" as an excuse not to teach. do well on the quizzes (easy) and on the research paper (also easy) and you'll do fine on the final and get an A in the class, while learning a lot. just don't cheat.

i don't get why people are saying he's easy?i love him and i learned a lot in his class.im not saying he's hard but you do have to study for the grade.

I LOVE thIs GUy!! He iS THe BEST!!! His quizzes are so easy! And, the final is NOT cumulative!! I hope he teaches another class. If he did, I definitely would take his class, again! His lectures are so interesting! He is just the best!!! Just take his class!

hes such a wonderful man. He really cares about th is subject. My major is chem and i can care less about psychology but he is so straight forward and his quizes which are the tests are sooo easy. All you have to do is study your notes and skim throught the assigned chapters. I HIGHLY reccomend him!

one of the greatest professor in SMC. i took his psych 1 in winter 07. no research paper, no homewok. all u have 2 do is study the notes, look up definations from the book, and pay attention on classes. totally 6 quizzes, each of them contains 20 questions. totally under control. it's absolutely an easy "A". u'll ove the professor indeed~~ Awesome!

This guy is awesome. He's really interesting, funny,&easy to pay attention to. You don't need the book, unless you plan on missing class(take notes if you do). Attendance is part of the grade so try not to miss too many. Easy research paper, 5-6 quizzes and a non-cumulative final. CAKE, if you don't have a problem paying attention to the man.

Dr. Laurent is a great teacher! He prepares you for other psychology course n really knows his stuff. Tests r easy if you study from the book n notes.

Best professor ever. 5 quizes one final. Study 2 hours for each quiz and you'll ace them. very easy. all based on LECTURE. quizes are 50% of the grade which is good because they're easy. Final is just another quiz that is worth more, but covers about a week of material, so VERY EASY! TAKE HIM NO MATTER WHAT!

i failed psychology the semester before i took his class and now i wish i would have taken him the semester i failed it with some****ty teacher. laurent is so funny and his lectures are always so interesting. very laid back. very nice guy.

Prof. Laurent, you are AMAZING! Tons of clarity...just show up and take the notes! 5 quizzes including the final..20 questions..multiple choice. Pay attention to how the questions are worded on quiz Write research paper early so it is done and out of the way. You will recieve an A

Prof Laurent runs an extremely loose, easy, clear class. There were only 100 points for the entire course and 10 of the points were for attendance. He's very nice and will gladly help if you don't understand the material. The biggest problem I had with the class was how mind-numbingly boring it was. You won't cover anything profound in this class.

Very chill class. Tests are not cum. STUDY THE NOTES. Everything he lectures on he quizes / tests on. Research paper wasn't that hard. He is dull at times but he knows his stuff. Sometimes seemed like he prep'd lecture five minutes before class started! I would take his class again. He is one of the better teachers i have had at smc.

I took prof. Laurent this fall, it was my first semester here at SMC, and i loved it. He's a very nice, and entertaining teacher. I actually was planning on taking him again for psych 19 during spring. My only advice is to attend class and read both the book/notes.

Show up, take excellent notes and you will get an A in this class. He really enjoys teaching and is fun too!!

I took his winter session class. I didn't need to buy the book, just check it out at the library atleast once a week to copy some terms or charts. He lets you know exactly what to look up- no surprises. Tests are straight from notes, very clear and concise with a non-cumulitive final. And super interesting and funny! P.S. Brilliant teacher! Take lots of notes during his lectures, and do review before his multiple-choice exams. He does give tricky questions so make sure you study! The final project was very interesting (a research paper and a group presentation), and it certainly helped me learn a lot about human development. Take him if you get the chance!

Dr.Laurent is the best professor you could take for an intro to psychology class. You get credit for coming to class which is great because you want to anyway! His lectures are very interesting & he is simply hilarious. The Quizzes seem simple, but they are a little tricky so make sure you study. I loved this class, TAKE IT, you won't regret it!!

He is extremely nice, easy to understand, kind to international students... I had no idea psychology could be so easy. He will also save you money because you barely need the book, his lectures are crystal clear and the tests are taken from the lectures. So just take good notes, ask questions and you're good to go.

Mr Laurent is a great teacher with a great attitude and understands students. Explains material very clear with funny stories to go along with each topic. Exams consist of 20 Questions, papers due each week, and no extra credit in the course.

Dr. Laurent's introductory psychology class is informative and fun. He teaches in chunks so each test is only on a certain section (even the final exam). TAKE HIM! You won't regret it!

Lectures are easy to understand and clear. Not an easy class to pass w/ an A. I worked my butt off and ended up w/ a B! Tests questions can be confusing. You need to read the book if you want the B. 5 tests, 20 questions. 4 papers 1 -2 pgs in length. Final is not cumulative! NO EXTRA CREDIT!! He is very helpful with any questions you have.

I had him last semester and really enjoyed his teaching style. However, his exam is bit tricky. He makes several mistakes in most of the exam, which makes us more confusing. He is bit funny as well but I recommend taking him when you cannot add psychology prof. who gives out A easily.

He is a great teacher. however, his exams are very tricky and sometimes i felt like they are more designed for you to fail then for you to actually learn about psychology. you have to study hard for this class.

Fantastic Teacher!!! Everything on the quizzes he has either lectured on or told you to look up in the book. No tricks, he words things to make you think. Make sure you do the readings and study your notes and you'll be fine. He wants to help, so ASK QUESTIONS. Lots of ppl dropped but I felt he was clear & helpful. An easy A if you do your part.

I LOVE this professor. He is so funny and interesting and all his lectures are engaging. There are a few easy 1-2page papers that everyone gets an A on and then the quizzes which are kind of tricky. i really read the book and studied hard for the quizzes and I got an A. NOT easy though. loved this class!

I just passed his class with a C! He is a very funny and good teacher its just that if your not a good tester like me, you should really think about adding him. He assigns 5 two page essays through out the semester, they are really easy I passed mines with all A's and the rest of your grade really depends on your test. which can be a little hard.

I passed this class with a C due to procrastination at first, however his quizzes are tricky even if you do study so be on top of your game. Besides that I have no complaints. The instructor teaches great and has a great sense of humor. You will enjoy the class and won't need to worry about tardies just sign the attendance sheet.

Super interesting and fun teacher!! He's super funny and keeps you awake during a 8am class. You need to attend class because he goes over all the information on he tests there, you don't even need the book. You can google terms. I had the book, only used it in the beginning of the semester for like a week. You must study though!!!!! Not an easy a!

Laurent was a nice,informative teacher. He always tries to keep things a bit entertaining. If there's one I thing I disliked was that his quizzes are only 20 questions each which I know doesn't sound bad but he covers a lot of material between quizzes so you don't really know what kind of questions will be on there. Overall though he's awesome!

Easy class. Get an average of 18 on the tests, get 5's on your papers, and you can still get an A if you skip one because you decided you were too lazy. Just study before tests (not much is necessary) and you're good to go!

prof laurent is hilarious, sweet, helpful and his lectures are never dull! but this is Avery HARD class. 40% of the class dropped. I worked my butt off, studied like crazy and got a B. His quizzes are only 20 questions so if you get 3 wrong youre at an 85. definitely hard but hes a very intelligent and funny man. I still enjoyed taking his class !

Dr. Laurent is an awesome teacher. He only quizzes on information he has lectured, and he doesn't give tests. Attendance isn't madatory, but it certainly helps. Every other week he assigns a manageable 1 page paper and quiz. His feedback is very helpful, and his criteria for papers is easy to follow. All around an great course.

He was one of the hardest professors I've had. Took him over the summer, every Thursday we will have a 20 question quiz. Does not allow makeup work or gives extra credit. He is very clear on what he is looking for. His lectures were fun until test time. Will have a research paper at the end of the class. I worked my but off and got a B.

I took Psych 1 during the summer. Loved his class and the way he teaches!!! He's also really funny. His quizzes can be tricky sometimes but if you study you'll be fine. Definetly recommend him!

The only way to pass is to attend class and write down his notes. If you study the notes and look up terms he points out you should be fine, but REALLY study, the questions are tricky.

Professor Laurent is so hilarious! He's got a kind of dry humor that makes the class worth going to. His lectures are so clear and you're only quizzed on whatever he writes on the board. Also, he writes down the page numbers that you need to focus on in the book which was super convenient. Take his class, you won't be disappointed.

Read what he tells you because that's how you'll pass. He is very clear on his notes. He is hilarious and also helpful when you look for it.

I took him for this past semester (Summer 2016). Take notes, look for the terms, study them, and you should be solid for the quizzes. There are participation, 5 quizzes, a critic paper, and the final (same as a quiz) that you are being graded on.

Show up to class everyday, take the notes from the board, study the notes and charts and you should be good. Also start the paper early! Dr Laurent is easy to talk to and wants to help his students out!

Easiest class ever! There are 5 quizzes based only on his notes from the board, so it's impossible to make a mistake, and one paper which I finished in one evening and got highest grade. He also checks attendance. Dr. Laurent tries to seem strict, but in fact he is super easy and nice. Take him! You'll laugh a lot but also learn a lot.

Professor Laurent is great! His lectures are understandable and engaging. The lectures are key to passing the tests you'll have in class. There's a "big" essay towards the end but it's very easy and you get to decide the topic. I really enjoyed the class.

Good lectures, you have 20 question quizzes every 2 weeks or so and the final is not cumulative its just 20 questions but double the points. You have only one paper which is super easy, hes super funny and only uses what was on the lecture for his quizzes. Just study

Dr. Laurent's class is heavily lecture based however he does include some things to keep the class entertained such as jokes and things relevant today. There's no midterm or cumulative final. 5-6 quizzes and 1 paper on the topic of your choice . His quizzes are the main factor of his grading criteria but he practically tells you what will be on it.
