Great professor. Went a little fast in lecture, but will recover material until it is very clear if needed. Very helpful with office hours. Tests come straight from homework and quizzes. Teaching style ensures you learn the material. I'd take him for CHM II if he were teaching it. Gives bonus points for homework and in lab. Awesome professor

lufaso was pretty damn good. he knew the course material very well and made sure to go over things that people did not understand (if people were willing to raise their hands and say "i dont understand"). he was a little speedy in lectures, but as long as you read the chapters beforehand, it was pretty easy to catch up.

I personally liked him as a teacher. Yes the class was pretty boring and dragged on sometimes. But he puts all the notes on blackboard and goes over your questions in class. This professor was amazing. He went over things really fast in lecture to the point where nobody knew what he was talking about. His lectures are so fast and he often doesnt explain well. He does know what hes doing, but that sometimes hinders his explanations because he thinks everyone is on the same page as him. He will, however, help you outside of class a lot. You need to keep up in class and do all the assigned practice problems to do well. all lectures on blackboard.

Great teacher. Come to class, take notes, do the homework, ask questions and you will pass the class hands down. Chemistry is a hard subject at first and a lot of people are just upset because they didn't get an easy A. He will give you more chances to pass than other instructors in the department but in the end your grade is what you make it.

Professor Lufaso is very knowledgeable about the subject and is very clear on what he expects out of students. It is not an easy class if you do not put in the work. There is a lot of homework, but the homework truly prepares you for the tests. He also posts exam reviews for extra credit. There is a lot of work, but if you do it you'll get an A.

He provides a clear grading scale that makes it easy to keep up with your grades. Tests are difficult but it doesn't deviate away from the type of problems that are assigned in the homework. If you do the homework you can do the tests, it just needs some studying to get it down. Its best to go to his SI's study sessions since they really help.

2-2.5 hours of homework due after lecture on top of 30-45 minutes worth of reading. Im not sure if Lufaso is aware that 3+ and the 1.25 hour lecture twice a week is not feasible for a lot of students. Its simply too much work in too little time, so grades start tanking just from homework and cannot he brought up from the difficult tests.

He can get ahead of himself during lecture and start writing things out on the board faster than you can take down notes but he is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and his exams are a direct reflection of the homework which follows the lectures pretty closely. Took this class online and wanted to die. Assignments take three hours tot do, and there are a couple per week. Lectures are posted weekly, so no class discussion, and homework problems are more complicated than those done in the lectures. I had COVID during an exam and he wouldn't let me take it later, despite having a doctors note. Good luck.

This class is really what you make of it, if you watch the lectures & attend a few SI sessions, you should get an A. My lower grade is from not doing just that.

It's so much work it's exhausting, I went through 2 entire notebooks this semester. You'll struggle a lot without consistent practice. His exams and hw due dates don't sync up at all.

Lufaso is really not as bad as the reviews suggest. Grade is mostly tests. Best way to prep is to do the review problems in mastering chemistry. If you can get those right and understand them you'll be fine. I missed 6 homework assignments and was still able to get an A-. If you fill out your scantrons right he gives you a pretty nice EC boost.

Professor Lufaso is a very smart professor. He knows his curriculum very well and often goes very in-depth on the complicated topics. The reason the course gets a 3 is because often times the questions on the homework do not align with the exams, which makes studying difficult.
