He's totally hot! The class was interesting learned here and there DEFINITELY not a hard class easy A if you do listen to the main points he tries to get across. Textbook not even worth it! Can find it on PDF or make copies. Class is awesome I recommend It 100%

Professor Thompson is the bomb. He understands and respects what he is teaching and especially he respects the students. Please I advise you to take him. He will guide you if you need help. He always have time for you after class. He uses textbook for required reading but his lectures are awesome. He tells the truth about history.

Very knowledgeable. Very kind to students. Able to prevent controversial matters turning into fight (religions, etc.) Lots of resources, love what he teaches. Homework & tests are not too hard, just keep a good attendance and you are fine.

I once had Professor Thompson and can't believe that I never wrote a rating! Oh well -- he's the best BEST best best best professor I've ever came across. Truly a great, genuine, and honest man. He's one of the best professors in CCNY. He really knows his stuff. WCIV 101 is an introductory class, so he doesn't make it as hard as other professors. He's very passionate about history, and will keep you engaged. He's Amazing! Make sure to go to class if you want an A.

If you're a CCNY student, that's probably the coolest professor you'll get. Respected by everyone. All you have to do is come to class, participate during the discussion, do the assignment which he makes it easy and you good to go. Email him if anything and he'll fix it for sure. I WAS NEVER INTERESTED IN HISTORY EVER! But he's so passionate about it and his style of teaching is different from the rest! He allows students to explore more than what a standard text book can teach you. He recommends videos that provide a lot of information but also so interesting to learn about. One of a kind. Not only did I learn much more than I ever expected, but every material that was given to us provoked my thoughts well beyond the classroom. After taking this class, I think of life differently, which sounds like an exaggeration but its very true. Michael is as engaging as he is hysterical and a genuinely kind and caring person.

He was an adjunct when I took his class, and it would be a shame if he still were. Seriously good professor. Doesn't just do the boring old "here are readings and assignments. do them" routine. He teaches in a way that keeps your interest and makes you more interested. And he's caring and laid back, but not a pushover, so his class is enjoyable.

It's an EASY A bro, don't overthink it. Literally show up and you meet the nicest and most understandable guy you will ever have as a proffessor. He let's you leave early, there's 5 light assignments assigned over the whole course, and then there's a final which he goes over in class. The Class is a BREEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZEEEEEEEEEEE!

Professor Thompson was very understanding and flexible throughout the semester. During the transition online he kept in touch and gave lots of feedback. Throughout the semester we were graded on 4-5 assignments which were do-able.

Since it was an online class, he did not make attendance mandatory, just do the discussions on blackboard. He gave four 2 page papers and they're easy. No final exam, just an assignment, loved his class. Easy A.

The easiest 'A' I have ever gotten. He even cancelled our final exam because he was worried we were too stressed. It was only 4 assignments and a few discussion boards which he gave the entire semester to complete. He's really chill and is there to accommodate you.

Very chill professor. There are no exams, just like four short papers to write, which are like 1-2 pages. You will need to read articles and a book to understand the course and assignments. Other than that, it's the easiest class out of the five classes I've taken this semester.

Absolutely one of the best classes I have taken so far! This is not your normal history course. Get ready to question a lot of things about the creation of the world and the society we live in. The readings are great and the discussions are very interesting. I highly recommend it.

Overall the best professor for WCIV. He makes the class worthwhile and engaging, you will learn a lot from him! I recommend taking this professor, as long as you hand in your (4) assignments on time & participate in the discussion boards, you will do great! No "exams" but the assignments are a big chunk of your grade!

Professor Thompson made this class very interesting. He always held great discussions that made this portion of history that I find very boring into something somewhat fun. His assignments were all fair and simple, the grading criteria was very clear too. Definitely take his class if you are considering it.
