Class could be confusing sometimes, but he was REALLY helpful one-on-one during office hours. You're going to have to work for an A, but you'll actually learn the material.

He wasnt a bad teacher, people just gave him a hard time. If you take him expect to study and actually understand the material and real world examples. Their is really no reason anyone should fail if you study. He gives alot of bonus points and extra assignments. The only complaint is that he is a little confusing when he explains things in depth.

MR. MACCURDY IS A GOOD PROFESSOR. HE KNOWS THE MATERIALS..HE'S INTERESTED IN HIS STUDENTS LEARNING THE MATERIAL.HE HAS ALOT OF PATIENCE WITH HIS STUDENTS.AT THE BEGINNING I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HIM, BUT I HAD TO LEARN HIS LEARNING STYLE. OVERALL HE A REALLY A GREAT PROFESSOR....I LOVE THE WAY HE TEACHES...IF THE STUDENTS WOULD STUDY, THEY WOULD PASS.

He can be difficult to follow (he loses his train of thought a lot), but is extremely knowledgeable in the subject. Gives a TON of bonus points on tests. The homework is very helpful and not difficult, but a little time consuming. He will work with you if you need to reschedule a test or need help in class. Definitely have to study to pass.

Great teacher. Very patient with his students and always willing to help. Added bonus, he's also a total dreamboat.

While the class is not easy, Professor MacCurdy makes himself always available for his students. If you go to class, understand the material or put forth the effort to make sure you understand the material, it's almost guaranteed you'll be successful in the class.

Loved his class.Will work with you,tries to give his students their $s worth. Consistent and loves questions. Will go out of his way to explain/elaborate.Gives great material in his study guides.And for anyone taking this class, check out the great resources under "Wiley Read,STudy,Practice" You WILL get a better grade. Heard his lab is good too.

His class is overall easy as long as you go over the powerpoints and have access to google. He reads off the powerpoints word from word and doesn't really go into details about the materials and says ummm alot. If you do miss a class, an A is still possible because like I said he reads off the powerpoints and that is what is on the test.

Prof. MacCurdy is a great teacher, he is willing to help if you have an issue understanding anything.If you put in the time,effort,study& ash him for help when you need it,you will pass.He is a really nice guy.

Mr.MacCurdy is a really Great teacher. He's extremely intelligent and willing to help you if you need it. The class requires effort: do the work, follow ppt & you'll do fine. He offers tons of bonus questions on tests and teaches strictly from the ppt. He's also a Total Cutie!! I wish I had all of my Biology with him. Keep up the good work!!

He's hard when it comes to direction on what to study for the test. My strategy was to use the take home test as a SG. He gives plenty of opportunity for bonus up to 15pt per test. Test are easy, it's his teaching that is confusing at times. If it wasn't for my prior medical experience I would of been lost. In the end I came out with an A.

I had Mr. MacCurdy for A&P Lab. He was an excellent teacher, between the lecture/powerpoints and the time he gave us with the models/answering any questions you might have, I can't imagine a simpler A. He was willing to stay and help/answer questions as long as you were.

I took MacCurdy for Biol 251 and 253. He is a very good professor he is concerned about all of his students and has an open door policy . He is always willing to take extra time to help the students understand the information .

Do the work and give the course the time it deserves and you'll pass with an A. He always answers questions and emails in a timely manner and will help you IF YOU ASK FOR HELP! Has a tendency to fall off topic, but that's what helped keep my attention. I'd rather a multidimensional teacher over a monotone one any day! TONS of extra credit!!!

He really cares about the students and their if we understand the information. He goes out of his way to help you if you are having a hard time. you will have to put in the time and work to pass but it is worth it. he only puts on his study guide what you will need to know for the test and he writes his own study guides . take him

I thought I would was going to DREAD lab and not to mention, hate my new teacher. But low and behold, Mr. MacCurdy ended up being one of the most helpful, considerate, and kind-hearted teachers ever. He answered every question I had, (even when I asked more than once). And he put up with my brutally truthful comments and many requests.

MacCurdy is a decent teacher. As with any science class, you MUST be willing to read and take notes and STUDY. Pay attention to his lectures and powerpoints. Also, take the time to go through the study guides and get your homework and quizzes done ON TIME!!

Maccurdy is a really cool guy. He is very willing to help you. A&P is tough but with the extra credit available, its easy to get a good grade. I took him for A&P 1 lab and lecture and now I'm taking him for A&p 2 lab (lecture isn't available this semester). But that should say enough on its own. I really enjoy his class.

One of the best professors I have had. Go to class and pay attention. Best way to be successful is to print out his powerpoint and write side notes as he goes along in class. Tests are not hard if you study whats on the study guide. He gives extra credit which are very predictable. If you put the time into the class and study it is an easy A.

Mr. MacCurdy has a genuine heart for teaching. He is knowledgeable & does a great job presenting material in class. Despite what others have said, he is very helpful. He is always eager to explain & educate. He graciously gives quizzes for extra credit & his study guides are on point. This rating is late, but its 100% true. Just trust me.

This was my favorite course, and instructor made it easier to remember everything necessary to pass. And you can't beat his extra credit !

Really good teacher. Not easy but he explains things well. Had him for A&P 2 lab. I highly recommend him. You have to read and study.

amazing instructor!he KNOWS science & hes very smart which helps when teaching bc he doesnt just read to u from a powerpoint. relates notes to real life scenarios. he has dry sense of humor but he makes class worth attending! taking him again this semester! i learned a lot from him and recommend him to everyone!!!!!!!

I would take him again for A&P Lab. He tells you what you need to know and then you have to put in the work. He is a little goofy, but seems to straight forward.

Mr. Maccurdy is the most enthusiastic instructor Ive ever had! He is very funny and makes science interesting. Absolutely recommend him for gen bio!!!!!!!!!

MacCurdy is super chill. He gets straight to the point with what he wants you to know. Everything is laid out on the handout. He does go off topic with funny/awkward stories but I find them to be helpful which helps me remember certain anatomical areas. If you can deal with his blunt demeanor & awkward sense of humor, then def take him!

Mr. Maccurdy is very passionate about what he teaches he tries his best to make sure everyone understands what we're learning. Be prepared to study ALOT and to take quizzes ( online and in class ) frequently. The good thing about weekly quizzes in class is that you can earn extra points for the upcoming test. Lab manual and lecture text helped me.

I think most of the complaints belong to students that aren't willing to study or put in the effort. It's A&P lab and yes, it is hard. I notice that 5/30 students are willing to stay after lecture and put in the time to look at slides or models. My only issue is that lab is one credit.

Professor Maccurdy is a must take, I would take him again in a heartbeat. He is specific about objectives and he is very helpful with the models. He gives very funny lectures and tells lots of stories. ALSO: He puts power points and notes online AND gives bonus! (which is not always the case).

he is a great teacher for A&PII lab. his class really is not hard as long as you study the models you'll get an A. he also gives extra credit and that helps out too. He can get off topic but as long as you pay attention to what he tells you is on the exam you'll pass.

This course is the most difficult one to pass. Mr. MacCurdy is very smart and informative. Students must speak up to let him know when something is not understood. He will break it down. He will repeat himself as many times as needed without getting frustrated. Top notch professor! He explains everything. Take notes! Study! Read! Awesome teacher!

He actually teaches the material. He is a laid back nice guy and can be funny. Hes understanding. Hes not so worried about spelling. High A in this class without much issue. He provides study guides that are literally word for word of the lecture, he gives powerpoints and online quizzes with 3 attempts that are similar to the tests. Reccomend!

Great guy, tough lectures. Professor Mac knows his biology - but his lectures for gen bio were often way more than we needed at that level. Sometimes hard to follow. Course tools were great, though, and we learned a LOT. Always answers emails, really wants you to do well. And he's funny - who doesn't love science jokes?

Mr. MacCurdy and I spent many hours after class discussing biology, hes a genuinely well educated intelligent person. If you want to pass the class you have to go above and beyond but it is worth it and should be that way. I respect Mr. MacCurdy and hope to have another class with him.

professor maccurdy was an amazing professor, i highly recommend him. his class is not easy, but he gives all of the information youll need. watch lectures and study his study guides and youll get an A!

I enjoyed Professor Maccurdy's class a lot this semester. He's extremely knowledgeable about what he teaches so he tries his best to dumb things down for us. He does go off topic a bit, but that made the 3 hour lab a lot more fun to sit through and he's very nice, just blunt. I wish he was teaching a&P II because I would definitely take him again.

He is a good teacher and cares about his students. Lectures are long but he goes in depth for you to understand.

He is a very intelligent professor. He is straightforward and will explain anything you don't understand. Participation and attendance are necessary in his class. Very informative.

Took Prof. MacC for A&P l, Spring 2023 8 week session online. He's super smart, informative, organized, &responds quickly to emails. Provides lectures to dumb things down, study guides for each chapter, & gives extra point questions at the end of each test. I almost didn't take his class because of the reviews, but I'm glad I did.

Prof. MacC is a smart guy and makes himself super available for students, like he responds to emails SO quickly and hardly anyone ever goes to his digital office hours so he's ecstatic to get to help. You have to be really disciplined to do well in this class (A&P I 8-week minisession online Fall 2023) as there are assignments due every few days.

Classes are very lecture heavy. You will have to watch the lecture and read the book. Over all Prof. Macurdy is an excelent teacher, if you need help dont wait to long to reach out. Very touch class but i did take it as a midsemester class so everything was extremly condenced. I would take again but not in a mini-session.

I loved taking Prof MacC class. He made the material easy to learn but you must pay attention in lecture. He follows the lab manual exactly and also provides some recorded lectures on canvas for extra help.

You have to put in the time, no way around it. You probably can get all you need from lectures (not much book needed) but must STUDY all the material. As a person, he is cool. Preferred the lectures with his camera on. For academic reasons .....

i had zero issues with taking his class. he posts lots of thorough lectures and gives very clear expectations. you absolutely need to do the work and study but i think he gives you all the necessary tools you need. he was responsive when i needed to message him. i ultimately ended up with an A by immersing myself in the material.
