everybody's fave first year psych prof. Easy to talk to , helpful and fun
Ditto, He's awesome. Wants you to learn and enjoy the class. Can't beat his class!!!

He's pretty good. He posts all the notes on the Internet, but you have to be in class to get all of them b/c he thinks he's tricky and leaves a whole bunch out. The quizzes are pretty easy, but the exams are hard, they cover lots of material.

interesting, good lecturer, great shoes!
awesome prof, he really seems to like what hes doing, id recommend him to anyone!
Amazing! Take his class it is the best.
Great lectures. Very friendly. Cute.

I agree...his psych 110 class is the best.
An awesome prof he makes class fun and is always well organized. I would recommend this class over any other 100 psych class
Great prof, he knows his stuff. Has lots of extra stuff like surveys and critical thinking to get you extra marks to boost your grade. Highly Recommend him to anyone taking Pysch 110.
The best psych prof
This guy is NUTS! He dresses so weird. He makes you participate in his research projects as a mandatory part of his class. That said, its easy to get a VERY good mark in this class because of all the bonus. There is so much to learn though
Strange little guy with funny looking hair. Lots of bonus stuff, so you don't need to study much.
has his good and bad days
great prof, and i think he would get a better rating if the class size wasn't so huge so it's hard to be able to communicate 1 on 1.All the extra assignments really compliment what you take in class, and the reasearch activities are really neat.
he was ok, but the class was too big, and he is like the hippie teacher on Beavis and butthead, M'kay? People were always talking and stuff, and he had no control of the lecture.
I do not like the quizzes at all - to much memorizing and his tests are hard. He adds things on the tests that we never covered. The notes are brief and hard to understand. The surveys are fun and easy for marks but the experiments cause inconvience.
Very easy class, but be prepared to have a test every 2 weeks. And all of the other things you have to do and participate in.
yes very weird indeed.

The notes in class are barely helpful, too much information and way too many exams and assignment.
Dr. MacGregor is an excellent professor for those wanting to pursue a degree in psychology, but for those who are just taking it as an elective, he expects WAY TOO MUCH! His course consists of 6 quizzes, 6 exams, and a final.Tests-challenging & TOO long!
A lot of assignments and tests/quizzes ... which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Don't bother going to class because the notes are too brief and do not help at ALL. Read the textbook, seriously - and you will do good.
Really enjoyed the class. He does his best to make every lecture interesting which makes learning easier. Quizes and assignments keep you up with the material and then midterms etc. are easy. A MUST TAKE!
worst class ever learned nothing
This class was the easiest class ever! He gives you lot's of oppurtunity for free marks about 13% worth. He is also really interesting and funny too. Since he cut his hair he is kinda hot in a weird way.
A pretty good and fair teacher, the class is possible to pass with a relatively good grade... you just need to work for it.
I agree, he does give the class ample opportunity for extra marks. There is a ton of reading to do, but it is almost all interesting. Michael himself is a little neurotic at times, but over all a very good prof.
Good class, he expects way too much though, it would be good to take if you were only taking 1 class, 24 surveys, 6 tests, 6 quizzes, and a final. Tests and quizzes are easy but take way too long to write. Its an easy, interesting class, just go to class and take notes
Professor MacGregor is an excellent teacher. He can articulate his lectures well and make them interesting for students. I always enjoyed going to the classes. He has 6 Quizzes and 6 Tests, and honestly I felt the Quizzes were much more difficult and stressful. I would take another class from him.
Excellent Prof: responsive to student feedback, uses varied teaching methods, includes student interaction in lectures, and has a very kind personality. Very highly recommended.
Awesome prof! Very enthusiastic and interesting, and brings the material to life. 12 tests and quizzes of moderate difficulty. If you study for them, you'll do well. Lots of chances provided to participate in psych-related research. I looked forward to coming to this class.
Very nice, intelligent guy. Definitely helpful- goes out of his way to help students. Very approachable and easy to talk to. Excellent sense of humour. He should teach other undergraduate classes, because he would keep students interested in the field. I highly recommend him. He also does interesting things with his hair (He's really cute, too!!!).
Awesome prof, made the material as interesting as possible, lots of energy! More than happy to help you out if you need it. My only warning is the insane amount of quiz/tests, 12 in all. If you study and pay attention you will do well in this class. Highly recommended!
Creepy, does he write these reviews himself?!?
interesting class, but he was very misleading about what was required for tests and assignments, also very cocky. i would not take a class from him again
Very interesting lectures
The class has a lot of work involved, but it's possible to come out with a good mark without too much stress. Lectures are interesting and MacGregor can be pretty funny, but he can also come off as arrogant.
Best class I've ever taken!! Class discussions were interesting and fun to participate in. Lots of work associated with the class and lots of tests and quizzes but all were very helpful. Breaking down the info into small parts made it easier to process and remember! Wish he would teach other undergrad classes!
Very sensitive to students' needs (e.g., will do anything to help a student succeed). Willing to help. Challenging, but fair class. He is not the typical stuffy prof- he is down to earth and actually dresses well. His shoes always match his belt. His joke about the colony of dwarfs was hilarious! A must have prof.
This prof and class were the only positive aspects of my first year. He should, however, teach other classes.
Take this class from him, he is the best! He is so nice and understanding. He will make you year better and he is a great professor, very fair and straightforward. He is one of the best profs I have ever had.
A wonderful person! You will enjoy his interesting lectures and have fun. He is one of the nicest and most caring professors ever! A great class to take.
I agree with the guy who said that he writes the comments himself.. are u ****ing kidding me?? this guy is so bad....its ridiculous.. people in the class ask questions.. and he doesnt know what to do.. its pretty funny
Interesting and stimulating lectures. His braces are soooo cute. Kudos to him for kicking the talkers out of the lecture hall. If you aren't there to listen, don't bother coming to the lectures.
A sweetheart of a prof. Goes out of his way to help students. Comes highly recommended. I disagree with the guy below me- McGregor DOES know what he's talking about. Who are we (high school graduates) to say that he (a Ph.D) doesn't know what he's doing? That would be rather arrogant, don't you agree?
Great teacher. Makes each and every class fun, interesting and just... worthwhile. He is th best prof i've ever had and he should definately teach other classes. I am enjoying being in this class
Michael is a great prof! From what I have heard of the other Psych 110 prof's he's the best for sure! Don't get me wrong though you got to work hard since there's a midterm (as he calls them quiz's and test's) almost every week, but in the long run it pays off. He's very helpfull too! If you have a question he'll go and search for the answer for yo
He's like mini-Freud! Obviously passionate about psychology.
pretty good prof, although there is a ton of work. rather than a midterm he did several tests throughout the year which made it easier to get a good mark. Not at all boring, and knows his****
It was a good idea to use modern examples to illustrate his points.
Excellent prof. Definitely knows his s***. You can get an awesome mark in his class, but you need to work for it. It's great how he kicks talkers out of the lecture hall. If you're gunna talk the entire time, don't come! A great class though, and very interesting lectures.
Michael is my favourite prof easily. He obviously loves what he does. His examples and analogies are very clear. Talks EXTREMELY fast so look out for that. Expect many quizzes and exams to keep your mark balanced. Expect to put in effort. I like how he will do look up the answer to a question you ask that he doesn't know the answer to.
One of my favourite profs. I actually look forward to psychology class, because his lectures are entertaining. Quizzes are harder than tests, but overall it isn't a very hard class. Not an easy one if you don't keep up with the lectures, though. I'd definitely reccomend this prof to anyone.
Overall, MacGregor makes class interesting, but he is not very helpful and his quizzes are overly difficult.
Mixed feelings about this prof. He really loves what he does and is good at communicating the material. However, I think 6 quizes and 6 tests are too much work even for a whole year class. He sometimes just ignores student emails if he doesn't want to consider your suggestions which makes me feel that he is only pretending to care.
He does know what he's talking about and he is funny. His quizzes/tests are harder than any final I have ever taken. I am somehow managing to do well, but still...the tests/quizzes are too hard/too long for only having an hour of time. When 300 students are STILL writing the test at the end of an hour you know something is wrong!
There is a lot to memorize, but his expectations are crystal clear, which makes studying easy. Attend class, read the textbook, and study for 1 - 2 hours prior to his quizzes (which are more like mid-terms -- keep that in mind), and you will do very, very well.
His tests and quizzes are too hard and way too long. He does know what he is talking about but is not helpful at all. If you need to talk to him about your marks or something, he comes off really rude. Overall, the class was okay.
The workload is very high - a test pretty much every two weeks - but he does curve up if the class average is too low. Very funny and knowledgeable.
Good class to take, quizzes are frequent, every 2 weeks or so, but it makes you study. Prof is easily understood and knows his stuff.
Good class to take, quizzes are frequent, every 2 weeks or so, but it makes you study. Prof is easily understood and knows his stuff.
I went away from this class learning many useful things even though psy isn't my thing. This prof is very good as he repeats many things and is interested in helping us learn. All the quizes helped to even out my grade and i just agree with everything he did:)
Good class to take, quizzes are frequent, every 2 weeks or so, but it makes you study. Prof is easily understood and knows his stuff.
One of the best profs I've ever had! He cares about his students & makes an effort to make the material clear & interesting. I like that there were lots of multiple choice & written tests to even out the mark. I also liked the bonus assignments & the fact that he will give out 100's, The tests are long but there's a huge curve!
He knows his stuff but I found his tests and quizzes WAY too hard for a first year class.
Pretty good prof, quizzes are hard though!
Very nice prof, easy to understand, but still would not recommend taking his class. His tests and quizzes are just WAY TOO HARD for First year students. It is almost impossible to do good at all on the tests because half of the stuff that is on there is not focused on that much in class.
Pretty good class, he knows what he's talking about. 4 tests durring the full year, they were not too hard, but you did actually have to study. if you went to class they were much easier
A pretty good prof. Grades based on 4 exams, 16 online quizzes and a final. Online quizzes were easy,10 questions right out of the text. The exams were a difficult though, really have to study for those. Also doing psychology studies offers chance at some bonus marks, which can be really helpful.
Pretty good prof. Boring at times but at other times pretty interesting. It is not a class to take if you are expecting a super easy course, definitely a lot of studying involved.
AMAZING psych prof. Really clear, and knows what he is talking about. Large class size but manages to keep engaged. He's a genuinely good person too, and it's great when he uses a bit of humour in the class. Take his class!
Very interesting class! tests are hard though and it's tricky because some of the stuff isn't in the textbook or his notes. Very engaging class and worth taking. 5% bonus helps a lot
Despite being a Physics enthusiast i found Macgregors class very interesting. I took it during the summer and it was a great class to boost my mark. the four midterms are EASY, and worth a combined 60% of the grade. If you read the textbook and go to class you and participate in the bonus 5% you have no exuces for a bad mark in this class.
A great prof! Super fun in class, great sense of humor and explains things very well. I learned concepts and learning strategies that helped me in many of my other classes. Also a really nice guy; very approachable and great to talk to
very good prof! attend lectures, and read textbook and you'll ace the class. Prof is very knowledgeable and very approachable. He makes the class fun. His tests are fair, although you got to know your stuff quiet well. Do the bonus 5% it helps. Final is hard.
Do the 5% bonus, such easy extra marks. Read the textbook and go over his lectures (which he puts online) and you'll be golden. Also, the online quizzes/tutorials are easy mark boosters and great help while studying for exams.
Pretty sweet guy. He wears clerical robes to class. Really passionate and knowledgeable about psychology. Be prepared to spend 2-3 hours a week doing online tutorials, and an additional 2-3 hours a week going over the textbook/your notes from class if you want a good mark. Unclear about expectations for tests, but other than that a thumbs up.
My fave prof! Very engaging in lectures. Lots of online quizzes (takes 2-3hours/week). Read the text, and his notes (online) and you'll ace the exams. Exams can be lengthy. Very nice/friendly guy. Great sense of humour. Wears his clerical robe to every class. DEFINITELY TAKE HIS CLASS!!!! :)
Very good professor. Lectures are funny and interesting. Highly recommend taking his class. Second best prof I've even had.
Prof was virtually useless in terms of responding to emails. Also, he marked answers that were clearly correct, wrong on multiple occasions. Furthermore, info that we learned in class was at times contradictory or different to that which was presented in the textbook.
Very awesome prof. Super interesting to listen to in class. Very fun. Highly recommend
Overall he was alright. He assigns assignments to be completed either weekly/biweekly online. His assignments require a significant amount of time to complete and not always correlating to his class discussions. His online exams are awful, minimal time provided. Also very unhelpful for he almost NEVER replies to emails...
Hated this class. He posts weekly online assignments that take HOURS to complete and has very difficult online tests which he gives you minimal time to do on Friday nights. Online assignments are based right out of textbook but his test material comes from his sometimes irrelevant lectures. Overall, far too much work and material for a 1 yr class
Great guy and person to talk to. Has all his assignments online which are easy but his online tests are rediculous, giving us minimal time and some outrageous questions on the tests. His in-class tests are fairly straight forward but stil challenging. If you are in this class really pay attention to the text and study it like a religion
MacGregor is a great guy, and this was a great class. The textbook is a must as the online tests and assignments were wholly based on it. Tests (including the online) are extremely fair, and if you actually put aside time to read the textbook and go to class, an extremely high mark is attainable. Also a hilarious and smart guy, made classes fun.
This guy is easily my favorite prof. He is such a good prof, I chose to take his class again next term. His lectures are VERY well organized, and he clearly loves teaching. Pay attention in class and prepare for the quizzes, and he gives lots of opportunities for students to achieve a high mark if they put the effort in!
If you are interested in psych, take his Psy 120 class! Lectures go beyond regurgitating the text - he knows lots and applies the class to life. Lectures are fun/entertaining. Gives out candy! You NEED A TEXTBOOK! Expect to spend lots of time doing online assignments. Can get high mark if you read text/attend class. Like psych??? TAKE HIS CLASS!
He is very interesting to listen to. His lectures go beyond the text, but you MUST read the text to do well in his class. A good amount of questions on tests come from things only discussed in class. If you expect email questions answered he might not be the prof for you, but overall Great guy!
Took his class last year - excellent prep for my later psych classes this year. Thorough notes and textbook readings, and his online assignments help solidify the information, even though they might seem a bit tedious at times. Excellent examples and activities. Highly recommend!
This class is now Psy 120 & 121 but same information just split up. Great prof, very interseting, makes things very clear and extremely organized. Not sure how he is currently but was a great prof for 1st year. Easy enough tests and online activities that helps the info stick.
His lectures are interesting and though the class requires some time commitment outside of class the assignments and online tests really reinforce the information learned in the lectures and read in the textbook. Great prof!
as a person he is hilarious. a few areas of improvement would be answering his emails, and for the MC tests it is like he purposely tries to trip you up using tricky language. not cool. overall though his class is very enjoyable and he is a good teacher.
He is an awesome prof! Highly recommend. His online assignments were a great way to make the content stick and his lectures were ALWAYS interesting. I did have to keep up with the class at all times and do a lot of work at home but I came out with an excellent grade.
Great prof, easy to understand, and his lectures are interesting! He is quite funny too! The online assignments were helpful and could boost you mark if you read the text. He is average when it comes to answering emails ... but is very approachable after class. Would take another class of his again if possible.
Actually looked forward to go to this class. If you read the textbook and do assignments you will do fine, grade wise. Wish I could take more classes with him.
MacGregor's a priest, therefore he's really nice and seems to be passionate about teaching. I gave him a score of 3 out of 5 in the easiness section because i wasnt expecting to get grades lower than 70because the class really interests me and I read everything and still got 60s on my quizzes.
One of the best profs I have ever had.
Although I was and still am passionate about the subject matter & enjoyed his way of presenting the information, I found this professor extremely pretentious. He made it well known that he dislikes 1st year students & purposely tries to "weed" students out of Psychology. I found his evaluations over the top & attitude towards students disappointing
MacGregor is an excellent prof! He makes a strong effort to make his lectures interesting, it is clear that he has experience and interest in what he teaches. He was very straight forward and if you put the work in could get a 90+ mark. I enjoyed PSY120 enough to take PSY121 with him as summer class.
Terrible prof! AVOID if at all possible! Tons of online assignments (~80 throughout the semester), 3 in class and 4 online midterms. Not very approachable outside class. Always making mistakes marking and blaming it on others. Classes have totally different material than text, and you're expected to know both. Don't take a class with this prof!!
Highly recommend Dr. MacGregor! He shows interest in what he is doing and is extremely fair an adds humour into his lectures. Although there is a large amount of work to do online, it does ensure that you are familiar with the material that you will be tested on.
Interesting prof, but comes off as pretentious at times and focuses too much on Freud. This bias isn't fair to 1st year students. This class is purely out of the textbook. Lectures seem to just be supplemental and don't show up on exams. There is a lot of online busy work but paying attention on them can result in a good grade.
He's a very engaging lecturer with a good sense of humour which made the class fun. He seems really passionate about what he is teaching and excited to share it with his students. He's very nice and approachable outside of class and gives you Friday off to do online work which boosts your mark. I highly recommend MacGregor's psych. Loved his class!
He is incredibly good. The way he lectures is insightful and he really causes you to think about what you're learning. He has been very understanding of the fact I have had technical difficulties submitting assignments online, and he asks for feedback from tests and takes out questions the class argues are unfair. Take a class from him!
Very good prof. Witty and knowledgeable. This class took up a lot of time due to the weekly online assignments and tests, but it helped boost my mark. Took off some answers in tests and assignments, therefore helping boost the classes grade. I'm taking another psych class because of this prof
I definitely recommend MacGregor! His approach is phenomenal and a very engaging lecturer. Yes, there are a lot of online assignments but if you put in the work, this class can be a grade booster and he gives you the opportunity to earn 3% bonus marks as well. This prof really expanded my knowledge base in psychology and I highly recommend him.
Love his lecures . Very interesting and helpful. Used lots of examples and keeps you interested
Love his lecures . Very interesting and helpful. Used lots of examples and keeps you interested highly recommend
Good prof!!!
Without the online tests, I think the class would be a little better.
This prof has good lectures, but when you have a question or need to get a hold of him because of something, he never answers his e-mail! He knows his stuff well though.
Best professor I've had so far. Very clear and concise. There is lot's of work to be done, but it is by no means overwhelming, and it really helps you learn the material. I would recommend taking any class he teaches.
I actually enjoyed this professor. He is very interesting and intelligent, which means some things will fly over your head. His test questions make you think, requiring you to actually do the reading, attend lectures, and study hard. Despite that, he is very fair and will help when needed; a good-natured man, which made me respect him even more.
Had MacGregor for Psy 121 and loved him and had an amazing grade. I decided to take psy 120 with him and had the worst time dealing with him, unresponsive, very rude to 120 students compared to 121 and EVERYTHING was online-even the final. Best of luck with him.
I found this class extremely frustrating. I attended every lecture, took detailed notes, did additional quizzes, and tried every study technique you can think of and the highest grade I ever received was a 65. All tests are online with lots of irrelevant questions. If you're looking for a mark booster, don't take this class!
Great guy, good lectures, loves his psychology and gives a lot of participation marks. But if you don't love it with a burning passion, run. Online tests had little to do with lectures, so you have to pretty much memorize the textbook. Also had a research project which I thought was insane for a 1st year class.
Horrible amount of assignments, very disorganized and boring.
AVOID! Michael did not answer emails with questions, assignments were ridiculously unclear and frustrating. Stupid course load; probably 50 assignments throughout the term plus major assignments and midterms. Expect to put the majority of your time into this class. Exams were ridiculously difficult. Extremely biased toward Sigmend Freud.
AVOID at all costs. MacGregor is the worst prof I've ever had. The assignments and expectations are ridiculous for a first year psych class. Furthermore he puts all the work on TAs and grad students who have no clue what is going on. If you try to email him, he either won't email you back or is incredibly pretentious.
I ended up taking his class as an elective, but after attending his lectures I ended up changing my major to Psychology. His lectures are very interesting, but they have nothing to do with the homework. His clarity on projects and other homework activities is brutal, and he's not the most approachable. I wouldn't recommend him.
I DID NOT LIKE PSYCHOLOGY BUT MCGREGOR'S MASTERY OF THE SUBJECT MATTER WAS GREAT CAUGHT ME INTO IT
i did not like Macgregor for psych 120, lectures were interesting but had about 7-10 online assignments/tests a week. Tests were extremely hard and most questions did not relate to the material spoken about in class. i would avoid him at all costs, he ruined psychology for me.
Classes were interesting and McGregor really understands the course. Although online assignments were a lot of work they really helped boost my average as its easy to get 100% plus they help with studying. I enjoyed the class.
I wouldn't take this class again. He uses a prepackaged course tool called Launchpad that has online weekly quizzes that require you self-teach most of the content - not what I'm paying 500 dollars for. Most of our class was failing before he curved grades and the tests are obscure info. He is interested in his students, but IMO it isn't worth it.
The online assignments are time consuming but they really help you learn the content and are pretty easy so it is definitely a mark booster. Uses stuff from the lectures on the exams, which differ from the textbook but give you a better understanding of the content, so you must attend lectures and take notes! Greatly designed class for success!
Has a very in-depth knowledge of psychology. Lectures are put together well and they are always interesting. People complaining about the online Launchpad are being childish. It takes an hour at most and you can just google the answers. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TEXT. If you read the text you will be guaranteed to get a 90% like me.
I found his lectures very interesting. Always gave lots of examples and would even do many short youtube videos in class to help you have a clearer idea of what he is talking about. So many online assignments, you can find all the answers online and in your textbook. Reread your chapters to study for exams, he asks very specific questions.
Entertaining lectures, notes are posted online, gives opportunities for extra credit, 3 tests all very hard for a first year class, final is questions taken directly from those 3 midterms, several short online assignments but easy (just get 100% for completing some of them, answers are online too : google), very knowledgeable about info, funny!
This was the first class I ever took in university. I was spooked that it was so test-heavy but regular quizzes helped me stay on top of the course material so I aced the course by exam time. Was always accessible by e-mail and ready to answer extra questions
Would not reccomend. Ridiculous amount of reading because tested questions all come from the text. 5 tests, all of which were hard. Attending classes was pointless. Weekly online quizzes(2-10 quizzes per chapter). Would not reply to emails. Scheduled an exam for the last day of classes before the final. Though you have an option for extra credit.
He based too much of the material off of the textbooks, while not testing very much on material learned during lectures. You need to basically study the entire textbook + more in order to pass his class.
Although MacGregor is quiet, he provides great information through his lectures. The use of the online Launchpad may seem annoying at first, but it is definitely worth the membership fee. His choice of textbook is great. Nice guy.
Very disappointed with his class. His lectures are useless and the tests are very hard, on average he would have to curve the marks up 10%+ due to the average being in the 40's%. His lectures do not match the textbook, he is hard to hear in class and you have to read the textbook and take notes off of it to pass the tests.
This is my favorite Professor. I am taking another one of his classes because he is that good. He knows what he is talking about because he is a reputable clinical psychologist. He is very easy to approach outside and at the end of class. If you really want to learn a lot about Psychology take his classes! Be ready to work hard and be rewarded!
He was very easy to understand and tried to make his lectures interesting, this made it easy to see that he knew what he was talking about. Quite a few tests that include questions from the textbook so it is important to read through it.
He was a really nice prof but I just found that some of his lectures were hard to follow and I found myself getting bored. The material was very interesting, but get ready for tons of assignments and 3 midterms.
He is a very kind and funny professor. His lectures are pretty interesting and go by quickly. There are a lot of online assignments, especially at the beginning of the year but they are simple. Read the textbook in depth as this is what the tests are mostly based on.
I studied from the textbook only and did well. I find that the extra stuff we talked about in lectures was not on exams. Michael is great and adds videos and humour into class to make it interesting.
His lectures are pretty much useless(in the first year, not afterwards), I skipped over half and still got an 87 in the class.
Never found myself bored in his classes. His general awkwardness adds to his lectures to provide a little comic relief. He is very approachable and cares about his students
Prof MacGregor is a really great prof! Attendance isn't mandatory, but he likes to sneak one or two questions on the test that you would only know the answer if you attended class. Homework due weekly but it is all textbook based and super easy if you read/skim the chapter before or even during the assignment. Do the assignments pass the class!
He basically copies his lectures out of the textbook, did not really further explain or add, I did not go to class at all in the last two months and still ended up with an 85, there is homework done every week, but it is online and you are able to pull up the textbook while answering the questions and see the answer. Super easy A, but boring.
I read the ratings here before taking the class and everyone is right. He's not a bad guy, is clearly intelligent and knows his craft. I just think some of his knowledge is outdated, and the things he says to the class as random bits of information can be a little controversial, sometimes even just incorrect. Attendance definitely not necessary.
MacGregor is a real gem of a guy. However, his ability to teach and engage the class is almost non existent. Almost always he will get off topic and begin rambling about something that really has no importance to what we're learning. You are much better off just reading the textbook front-to-back if you are planning on passing this class.
He seems like a nice enough guy but I found his lectures very dull, he looks at the screen when he presents so you can barely hear. There's a few quizzes per week online, if you don't do great on them they bring mark down but if you do good they barely affect it. Tests were tricky because multiple choice options were so similar
Michael tests on very irrelevant information which makes studying for tests extremely hard. His lectures usually just briefly go over what the text already tells you and he can barely be heard even in the front row. Study the textbook as he barely tests on his lectures. USE LEARNING CURVE when studying! Overall would not recommend :(
I really enjoyed his class for a number of reasons. He is very organized as he posts all of your grades for everything in the class, he provides each powerpoint for each lesson and his assignments on the launchpad are extremely helpful when studying for tests or to just better your understanding of the material. He was by far my fave teacher so far
Overall he is a goof professor! He talks about what he needs to talk but you need to read everything in the text book and he is quite slow with teaching everything! Make sure you do learning curves as they will help you out extremely! And try answering the chapter objective questions. I realized that helped me out on my third midterm in this class!
This was my first ever psychology class I took in University. I can truthfully say I enjoyed the class and was engaged throughout the whole lecture. I am taking his psych 121 class next semester and I am looking forward to it.
Awesome prof. Lectures were a lot more interesting and engaging than I expected, it was honestly a really enjoyable class. Would recommend showing up though, what he covers is a lot more focused than the text, studying is way easier when you know what's actually relevant. Would definitely recommend taking psych with him.
Dr. MacGregor is a solid lecturer and uses lots of different methods to get information across. Class is entertaining and helpful to attend but definitely not necessary. Could pass the class just by studying the textbook on Launchpad.
Dr. MacGregor is very monotone and not very personable. His lectures don't add too much to the class. The textbook is actually a great resource for information, but the assignments are way too easy. You can get the answers straight from the ebook, or you can just google the question word per word. Pointless, no critical thinking.
Awesome guy. One of my favorite teachers. Makes class interesting, lots of interactive videos and I love the assignments he gives us weekly.
Excellent professor; you can tell that he cares about what he is teaching and about his students.
