This instructor has a very hard time explaining his point across to the students, he starts with an idea but never finishes it he just digresses further and further.

This teacher is not very nice or helpful, rather than answering our questions, he just ignores them and babbles on about another subject. His instructions are very unclear and he doesnt explain much, he makes you figure things out with little or no help at all.

I didn't like him at all. The text was hard to read and understand and then you were supposed to write a bunch of papers about it.

A big dorkey weiner head. cant stand him. He always wants you to have a conference with you if you have any questions about anything whatsoever,you must schedule a freakin conference with him, do not take his class, hes fake. This dude sucks as a teacher. While he may make a good used car salesman, he is a horrible teacher. Why in the world should we have to re-werite our papers so many damn times? i tried to take his internet class. It was one of the most hard out of all the ones I have taken. I dropped it within a few weeks. I was unclear when things were due. I just wish i knew earlier so i could have gotten my money back. Such a waste!

I took his online class. Pounds us for our opinion, yet wants tons of citations and basically tells us our opinions are wrong. Would go 6 days without logging on, and assignments were due every week. All assignments seem to have the same prompt, making it difficult to write any paper after the first one. Do not take.

I took this class thinking I would learn about writing. Instead, he decided to teach about service projects and ethics. The only writing assignments we had were mini blog posts that were peer-reviewed by classmates who don't know anything about grammar or how to spell correctly. I got a C in his class and it ruined my 4.0 GPA. Horrible teacher.

Took his online course. His idea to use an online blog instead of the college's traditional online course set up was confusing. Missed the first paper, because I couldn't find the assignment on website. Has a grading contract; if you go from an A to a B in class, you can never get an A no matter what you do. Wouldn't recommend the guy to my enemy.

Lots of homework. No matter if you do an online class or do a class at school, you have to participate in a blog where you have to write about 12 essays a month. Due dates are Monday and Thursday, 8 AM. He doesn't really teach you how to write, you have to go him and he then he will tell you. He will give you a B if you do almost all of your work.

Honestly i would never tell someone to take him, I got all A's last semester and i might not even pass his class.

If you enjoy tons of work, no life, no time for other classes, no time for job, and mandatory service projects. Then this class is for you. his class is made to convert you into an activist. He makes you go out on your free time and volunteer for different organizations. afterwards have fun writing 5 papers, all 2500 words. He is nice however.

He forces his views and opinions on the class and doesnt really teach you on how to write a college paper. it was more community service than actual work.DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.

this teacher expects you to do to much. he forces you to go out of your way to meet with him in order to get a good grade. he gives a lot of homework and expects you to always keep editing it and improving on it. there is a service project that you have to do in his 102 class. Please be aware this instructor is really full of himself. Since he is all about being "different" and breaking the "norms" he does not have a grading scale, instead he has a grading contract which is created for students to fail. The grading contract simply consists of giving a yes or no on the assignment. He does not even give feed back.

I would not recommend taking this course... at all. The grading contract is ridiculous and stupid. Anyways, this is how the class goes.. write lenghty papers every other week and on your off weeks you are reading 12 page stories and revising your other classmates papers with minimum of 500 words. This class is hard i wouldn't recommend.

He assumes everyone is majoring in English. He invited 100+ people to watch us present in front of them, and be videotaped, it's supposed to be a writing class? The class was all online with his website he made. The readings he assigned were ungodly long and hard. Extremely tough grader. I never worked so hard for an A in my life.

Horrible. Couldn't run a class well if his life depended on it. Most of the time it's not even necessary to have a class because most of it is online anyway so you show up to class and do nonsense. There's no letter grades, there's a gradint contract where you're only allowed a certain number of slips, some of which aren't even assignments.

This is the absolute worst teacher on campus. He gives you tons of assignments that a normal person could never finish in the time he wants it done. The entire class is the same creepy material that will make you uncomfortable. He is beyond unreasonable and has no problem calling you out infront of everyone. Just don't take this class!!!

He doesn't believe in grades. If you get more than 3 "slips" you can't get an A, and probably will get a C. A slip is being absent 3 times, getting below a 70% on midterm/final, turning in an assignment late, not meeting all the requirements for a paper, or not going to 2 meetings in person with him. 5 papers, he grades them at the end of semester.

He assigned an extreme amount of homework and essays and most of the class meetings were pretty much pointless where we didnt learn anything. I didnt gain anything from this course

With every book that's read (5 in 16 weeks), a writing assignment with incredibly unclear instructions is required. Regardless of your topic on the writing assignment, he will probably tell you that it's wrong. Besides that, you only have 1 week to do these major assignments as well as reading 50-70 pages per night.

Don't take him! if you're trying to develop your skills in writing really confusing class he don't give examples this class dropped my GPA and I'm usually an A student although I followed all the rules my writing wasn't good enough for him I thought it just me but all my classmates felt the same. One thing I regret not looking at the reviews here!!

Contract grader. You get zero feedback from him the entire class. Only feedback you get is when the class is over. Every paper was around an issue of the idea of 'social justice', made picking a subject very limited. Community service is required for some weird reason. I would strongly urge anyone to avoid this guy.

Please for the love of god do not take this guys course if youre taking any class more than 3 credit hours. The guys class had more work than my 8 CREDIT HOUR CLASS.... says a lot

He doesn't use canvas he use his own website and it will take a while to understand this confusing website, you are not going to learn anything in his class. you have to write a paper every two weeks and beside that you have to comment on 3 of your class mates papers and this equal to a full paper so basically every week you have to write a paper.

I wish that I had checked this professor's rating before I registered for his class. The workload in this class is absolutely ridiculous considering that not only do you turn in rough drafts but peer reviews and weekly lessons before each class meeting. He doesn't answer any questions nor show examples of how the paper should look like.

Absolute worst teacher in my life. I took him more than 3 years ago. His class legit made me realize I was wasting my time in college. I took speech and com 101 before taking this class. I was wanting to get better at writing papers and this man had me go to the ghetto to work with convicts. On top of that he wanted me to speak in front of 300 plp.

I only took his class for 2 days and it was awful. On the second day of class I was hit with a rubric abut writing a 6 page paper that's due the following week. Why waste your time having him as your teacher while you can have someone else who is much easier/better. Also he doesn't use Canvas so add that to your confusion....

There is so much work to be done. Lots of group projects and reading. He slams you with papers and gives you a week to do it. Doesnt use canvas and have to use a jank website. Is condescending and does not fully explain what he wants on his prompt and then gets mad when you don't figure it out. He also passive aggressively laughs when you don't answer the question they way he wants you too. Also expects you to do ten things in one week like I don't have other classes and all he had to say to that was "Suck it up"

Ok as a person but as far as assignments go it goes downhill drastically. You ask this dude a question and he responds with a question as if it was philosophy class and as if you were not already completely confused. He explains the prompt for the essay after turning it in instead of before. Take if you like to be unnecessarily stressed out.

He's a really weird guy. I could not do mandatory conferences with him because he gave me the creeps. Awkward laughing all the time makes me and my classmates uncomfortable. Those in the class who worked hard on their assignments still confessed they were not in his favor. I regret taking his class. Not fair a teacher with a D rating still teaches.

Would not recommend this professor AT ALL. Does not respond to emails (and ignores multiple emails). He does not listen to student requests, especially during a global pandemic. I reached out to him multiple times for help and he's "forgotten" to respond. I assumed it was going to be fun, but he's making me want to change my major. No real grades.

I took this class because I love literature and movies. However, it was not worth the price. He assigns a LOT of homework along with a LOT of reading, even the movies have to be watched on your own time. His grading scale is hard to understand and you're left questioning your grade the entire semester. Also, very bad at replying to emails.

As a person he's an okay dude. As a teacher I don't like him very much. He gets mad when we don't know how to do things, and says that he will give an A to students with "superior writing skills" even though he doesn't outline what those "skills" are it's just up to his interpretation. As I was looking for a com-101 class with most classes already filled, I stubbled upon this prof. I have to say from all my English classes over the years. He gets 1st place in the worst class I've taken. The format in the way he teaches is not practical, he uses his own form of website for his class, and grades everything at the very end.

All in all this professor is the worse I had ever had in my college career. His grading system is flawed, not giving students any room for error. His attendance is very tedious not to mention the fact that he was late himself on multiple accents. Work was overbearing, the expectation he had was for you to complete 7 to 12 assignments every week.

I made the grand mistake of not researching his name before and I completely regret it. He expects you to read large writings and come to class with an omnipotent understanding of the material. The assignments are not only large, but unnecessarily vague. Gives feedback, but expects your writing to improve to Shakespearean levels by the end.

Where do I even start. First of all he does not believe in grading making his class hard to improve and hard to see progress. He makes you do photography and long interviews. The assignments are not relatable or understandable. There is no clear rubric for assignments. He has a zero tolerance policy to anything so if you have a life save yourself.

For example, he did seminars where you get 50 EC points if you read your essay or you get 100 EC points if you start the seminar with questions/answers etc. I did 3 of the 100 EC ones and he didn't consider putting it into my grade. He's also no help when you ask questions.

I took this class for a credit for my major, and not seeing your grade isn't very helpful. I've completed all the assignments i've received and he claimed he never gotten it when i turned all my work in through another site called research writing where all students need to submit their work on.

Doesn't belive in grading yet reqiures hours of work each day. Class stared with 15 students and as the semester went on only 5 remained. All readings and movies are required to be consumed on your own time. Gives less then 2 weeks to read entire 200+ page books. If you think this will be an easy class that is going to be fun, think again.

Do not take this guy! He gives no good feedback and sometimes doesn't even remember his own essay requirements. Trust look for another professor.

If you are trying to have a sustainable semester, do not take him! He can't teach lessons well and only grades you based on essays that are never to his appeal.

Please save your menta health before deciding to take this course with this professor. The main issue that we all can relate to is him not using Canvas but his own course site unlike Canvas, we don't get assignment reminders and we don't know our grade.Just because someone knows how to do their job, doesn't mean they're good at it.

his class was alright in itself but he is super passive aggressive and demeaning. he says there are no wrong answers & that he doesn't judge but anytime your answer is slightly different from his he will call you out in front of the class just to explain it to you.

If you like to see your grades, you wont be seeing them until the end of the semester. Since he goes off of a no grading approach. Each reading and video is required to pass. This professor does not use Canvas, instead uses a website. The website isn't great. Overall I wouldn't recommend taking any of his classes.

This guy was a proper bum. And I use the word only because this website does not allow profanity. Michael seems to forget that he is teaching a basic college writing class that people take as necessary for the degrees they actually care about, and treats this class like it's the most graceful, divine thing to touch the earth, and grades like it too

Lectures didn't resonate with what material we were supposed to write about, critically grades/gives negative feedback (unless you want positive, you have make an appointment with), and overall bad attitude. Also he claimed that I used AI when I didn't and very condescending.

Worst professor I have ever had, online and in person. Uses "no grading" policy which does no good for students. Workload is absurd. Done every single assignment with effort and ended with a D. Never tells you how your doing it's a guessing game even if you think your putting in all your effort, you will likely fail. Idk anyone who passed.

I would've loved to learn how to compose, as the course is called Composition 101, but he didn't seem to think so. He seemed to think this course was called AI-101. Nobody wants to write about AI. Please, come up with a prompt for an essay and keep doing that. I promise, it's not that hard. You don't even need ChatGPT for that!

don't take him at all, he heavily emphasized everything about AI and AI only, It is so boring and often lacks any creativity, he is also SUPER strict with MLA format and lives by it like it is a religion, he is also very picky with feedback, often stating things as little as time worked on it, maybe he should read his own feedback on this website.
