amazing teacher, will answer any question you have, extremely patient, tests are the grading system and x-tra credit paper. be sure you can dedicate time for reading the book before taking this class. otherwise, lots of fun, great guy

Great prof, knows pysch really well. Lectures are funny sometimes, but tests are based on the book, so READ! READ! READ! and look over his lecture notes as a guide. 6 chapter tests(drops lowest grade) and midterm & final. Easy class if u like psych and dont mind reading psych. Very laid back prof.

He is probably the best lecturer at Miramar for Psy. You will need to read the book. but i do recommend him, he is a very smart man.

this teach is cool!!! great lectures, tests are somewhat hard but he makes his lectures very interesting so even if u find the test hard, its a guarantee that you will learn something because he really relates his lectures to you and that makes it stick. no homework but reading. so read!!

Had his class 13 years ago. One of the greatest professors ever. Helped us out in student council. A fantastic person.

all i can say is, he's the coolest teacher i've ever met. he conveys lecture with real life situations and straight to the point. sometimes, he speaks to fast and neither can't hear him well even if im sitting in front. i recommend to anyone who would like to take psych for their major! good job!

This teacher is the best. I have had him for all three of my classes including 260. He is willing to help you when needed and always answers your questions. You do have to do the homework and quizzes, but if you listen to him, you got no problem.

I took his class for 101 and for lifespan psych EXCELLANT proffessor. His 101 class helped me decide on Psych as my major...

He rocks! He made the class more fun that I ever expected. He also helped to make things as clear as possible. Its not really an easy class, but he made it much easier than it could have been. Compared to other teachers of other difficult subject, he was one of the best teachers I have encountered. He deserves great ratings.

VERY hard tests to study for,even w/study guide he provides; it's the wording. Lectures are interesting. Scared away half the class on the first day, many dropped.Once there's class participation,he seems to be at ease and lighten up a little. Very nice professor, not easy, you have to work hard for your grade, which is based completely on test.

Mr.McPherson is one of the coolest teachers that you could have. He's class work isnt that hard, you just have to pay attention and show up, if you study in his class you will pass the course. I chose to have him for all my psych classes, would take him again if i had to. Highly Recommend to students who are willing to work for thier grade. A+++

This teacher is about the best teacher that I have ever had!!!! His is very thorough in his lectures and is extremely helpful! The class is a lot of work but he makes it a lot easier by helping you and his lectures are very interesting! He is extremely nice and encourages you to ask questions! I am not the best student in the world but I get an A in this class thanks to him!!!!

HE's tests are H-A-R-D! But he is very nice and gives extracredit...but...man he talks so freakin fast...attending class,taking notes and studying for hours is a good idea, unless your a natural brainiac! Only extracredit is a 10 page paper!

he is the best teacher i have had this semster. he is laid back, funny, and teaches really good. he knows what he is talking about. no homework but lots of exams. exams are hard but if you study and pay attention in class you will pass, he will tell you whats going to be on the exam. i really recomend this teacher. its an easy passing class.

Prof McPherson is a intersting teacher. he has a good sense of humor and enjoys class participation. be sure to take notes and read the VOCAB in the book. its a really intersting class but tough. just study the vocab in the book and you'll do alright

Professor Mcpherson is a very handsome and intelligent man. In order to do well on tests, just read the book and memorize the vocab.

very good teacher. made the class fun and engaging. smart guy. very approachable. easy "A" if you memorize the study guide for the book...unless its a new edition being used. sux for you, hehe. just memorize the study guide, know your vocab, predict the essay questions (usually something covered in lecture) and you will get an A guaranteed.

I love this guy! He is a really good teacher and his courses are very easy. You start with an A and his philosophy is that you just try to keep it. No homework. Midterm and Final are a repeat of the tests practically. He lectures directly from the book and he drops the lowest test score.

Great teacher! Really nice guy and very easy going. The vocab is great to know. You can pretty much study outta the chapter review and as long as you pay attention in class, you'll get an A. Don't try emailing him cause he'll never Email you back or return your calls. Im not the only person with this complaint.

Proffesor McPherson is an awesome teacher very patient and teaches the class very clearly .. gives many examples , stories , and has alot of knowledge to share .. he reminds me of Morgan Freeman . I highly suggest taking his classes !

He makes the class very interesting. He drops the lowest test score, but not the midterm and final. He also grades on a curve. Read the book if you want to get a good grade. I only showed up for test dates and I still got an "A." I highly recomend him.

Very interesting course, I presume. I do recommend that those who are heading towards a Psyc major should take this course. The professor demonstrates capabilities that would enhance knowledge that surrounds psychology. A good grade will depend on how well one gets acquainted with the text. Very respectful of a person.

he's a very cool professor. tests are easy (if you study, read your notes & textbook). he asks if you have a concern or if you don't understand something. he will guide you to understand things better. he also possess humor & makes the class extremely appealing & interesting. one of the coolest professors. i will take psychology 230 again with him.

PROFESSOR MCPHERSON HAS A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT HE TEACHES. HE MAKES SURE THE STUDENTS UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL BEING COVERED BEFORE MOVING ON. TEST ARE EASY AS LONG AS YOU READ WHAT HE ASSIGNES AND TAKE NOTES OF WHAT HE WRITES ON THE BOARD. EXTRA CREDIT CAN BE FOUND AT THE END OF TESTS AT TIMES, AND IT INVOLVES ANSWERING 2 EASY QUESTIONS.

I love Professor McPherson! I had him for Psych 101 too, and I took him again. He really knows what he's talking about and he is always there to help. He offers extra credit. His videos are a little outdated but I guess they were okay. He drops the lowest test score. His tests are pretty easy as long as you've read the chapter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!

He is my FAVORITE college teacher. He changed my view on psychology;before I disliked, now I want to take more. He has a way of taking complex concepts and making them so simple and easy to understand. He engaged students and talked with us, instead of at us, like some teachers do. As long as you do the assigned reading, you'll have no problem.

No homework. Tests are decent as long as you read the textbook. Best advice: don't rely only on the teacher's lecture notes. Make sure you read the textbook to pass his tests with good grades.

Wonderful professor. BUT BE WARNED...he dropped me for no reason. I came to class and turned everything in. Make sure he knows your face and name or he will drop you.

Best Teacher! I would recommend him to any of my friends. For his 101 class just make sure you take good notes cause if you do you wont have to even buy the book. after a while he doesn't care about your attendance but in the beginning he does, plus you want to go to class cause it's interesting and its the easiest way to get an A. He's awesome!

I took him for 101 and 123, he is an amazing teacher. For his 123 class you defiantly want to buy the book and take notes on the chapters though. I highly recommend him. He is one of those teachers that you want to do really well for cause he's so smart and just one of those people you instantly respect. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Professor McPherson is such a wonderful instructor. He has great comedic timing, which really helps during night classes, and he makes the subject so interesting. I've had a pretty rough semester with illness and my husband being out of town, and Prof McPherson has been more than accommodating. Definitely take his classes!

I took the course online & it wasn?t too difficult but beware that you live and die by your quiz/final score. Also, he is not very good with communication which can be difficult online. Participate on message board is done by answering prompts for each chapter but there is no time limit and he doesn?t grade them until the semester is over.

He's hella funny! Only difficult to me b/c we get now hw so your grade is based on the quizes. AWSOME! I have his night class and im never unwiling to go lol

Great professor! Really wants you to learn the material. Not worried about attendance, it's your grade after all! You are required to read, but can just as easy use the book in the library instead of purchasing. Very clear and concise, and extremely knowledgable in his field. Participate in class, he likes to hear feedback and answer questions.

I took his online psych 101 class and his on campus adolescent psych class. Both classes were great, he doesn't take attendance or give homework so you don't feel like you're still in high school. He's very passionate and nice. He was very responsive in his online class and even the final was online. TAKE HIM!!

I took his online class and he is nonexistant. We would e-mail and post questions but he wouldn't reply for weeks on end. He doesn't grade your discussion posts until the end of the semester so you have no idea what is expected of you to receive a good grade. If you can, avoid this class, but it's an easy A.

Excellent orator and lecturer. I'm not an auditory learner but he's easy to listen to and understand. I just wish he wrote a lot more down on the board. He's friendly, funny, and strait forward. Textbook was long and hard to read but he explained it well. Tests vary in difficulty. Multiple choice with occasional quick writes. Take honors with him.

Very interesting, tests are Completely on book material. Book is very interesting too. Tests get easier over time if class doesn't do well. Multiple choice questions on tests can be tricky but opinion type essays balance multiple choice.

AWESOME PROFESSOR! He goes strictly by the textbook. Spends entire class giving lecture BUT he is NOT boring! He makes you form connections and keeps you interested. No Homework! Very knowledgeable!

I LOVE HIS CLASS, hes very helpful and try to help student out. he gives a lot of extra credit even for tests. either attend class to take notes or read the chapter then you should pass the class easily b/c the tests are pretty straight forward. i highly recommend taking this class with him

He's laid back and you only need to show up for test days if you really want, but I suggest taking notes. The grading is based on the tests only, which is horrible if you're a bad test taker. Overall, he's an easy going teacher and knows psychology like no other. But his tests are hard and you have to make sure you digest the book thoroughly.

Loved this class! He's organized from the lecture to the test, speaks clearly, and has excellent hand writing. Also funny, patient, and his classroom is relaxed at all times. Treats you like an adult and doesn't care much about attendance nor does he hold you longer than necessary. If you do the vocab and read you'll easily pass the class.

McPherson does not deserve any kind of negative criticism because he is a gem. His class is informative and he really wants his students to do well. The guy is so genuine and loves what he teaches. I would definitely take him as a teacher over and over. The tests are simple and the class is relatively simple.

Great class. Lectures were thought out, clear, and helpful. Concepts were related to our own life experiences. You absolutely must read the book to do well. Its a lot of reading, but it helps your understanding. The study guides given for the main exams are great. Also gives you study questions for each exam. Again, great class.

Professor McPherson has been the best professor I have had at my time in the community college system. He is very knowledgeable and makes the lectures much more interesting than most. You need to read to get a good grade in the class but besides that, not too much work. Would definitely recommend him as a teacher.

I took Professor McPherson twice because I love his lectures! He is very knowledgeable. His lectures are long but really interesting. No homework and no extra credit. Grade is solely based on your exams scores. He goes right with the book so it's easy to reference back to his lectures. I would recommend him 100%!

McPherson does not want his students to fail. You do have to study a lot at home but his lectures help! No homework. I typically studied the definitions and passed so far. There are 8 tests total but only on two chapters at a time, then a midterm and final. He is very nice and makes you feel comfortable in class. I highly recommend him!

McPherson is awesome !! What you need to know in order to pass his class is that there will be a lot of reading to do after following along with Professor McPhersons lectures. Don't just read through the definitions but try to understand them as well. Try to create your own examples to better understand and remember the material . Hope this helps
