He is a good prof and offers awesome extra credit if you can get there. He teaches honors courses so the curriculum is slightly more strict than a reg ENC 1101 teacher. THIS WAS A HYBRID COURSE. WE MET ONCE A WEEK!!! A great way approach English.

I took this class about 2years ago but I never got the chance to write some feedback. I honestly really liked this class. Mr Mendoza is a cool professor & helped make the class fun while also being a good aid for the subject. The class can be seen from the outside as very easy & even boring but is quite the opposite in my opinion. Would take again!

I took his class at Valencia College. He is super, has a lot of energy, and is knowledgeable about everything! I learned a lot from him like how to appreciate the Medieval Times. You do need the book for this course for the pop quizzes he gives each week, since they're straight out of the book. He gives great feedback on the essays and discussions.

He is there to help each student and not to make their lives impossible. Every week there is a discussion where you just post your comment and don't have to reply to classmates. Weekly quizzes (all answers from book) and video response which sometimes are long (45 min). 4 papers in total. Be prepare to read a LOT! Papers are comparisoncontrast

Mr. Michael Mendoza is hands down the best teacher at Seminole state. He is like one of the students. He is so helpful, extremely nice, and makes learning enjoyable. Best teacher in my life. I will also take him for English 2 without a doubt.

If you participate in class discussions he will bend over backwards to help you succeed. He likes to use social media along with his lectures and he does enjoy comic books (hint). All of the homework is online and consists of quizzesdiscussions. Gives plenty of time to complete and there are 3 important papers. Easy grader and offers extra credit. Show up for the midterm and final reviews because he basically writes the test during that day and tells you exactly what is on it. Show up and do the work and you'll be fine!

Awesome Professor!! I am currently taking him for honors ENC 1101 but I am going to take standard next semester English II just so that I can have him as my professor. He is really funny and honestly makes class enjoyable. Get ready to talk about super heroes and comics. It's kind of his thing. There's only like 3 papers and he's an easy grader!!

I have taken him for the online hybrid class, so we met once a week. The one day we meet, to me, seems unnecessary because all of the information, due dates and assignments are online. He's a funny goofy guy and cares about his students. He's flexible with due dates and lets you resubmit assignments that have unwanted grades. Overall, easy grade.

Professor Mendoza was the best English teacher I've ever had! There was 3 papers the whole year and he worked every paper with you step by step so you know exactly the criteria needed. As long as you do your discussion posts every week you should be fine. And even when I occasionally forgot, he offers a lot of extra credit opportunities.

He's very good at working with people that are struggling in his class. If your paper has flaws, he gives you a 2nd chance to submit it. Also, do all of his extra credit assignments.

Professor Mendoza is a super nice guy who really tries to connect and get to know the students. This is the easiest Language course I have ever taken. AP Lang in High School was more than twice as hard. All you have to do is do your work to pass. He gives a lot of easy A grades for online assignments.

He is one of the best professors I've ever had. He loves his job and wants everyone to succeed no matter what it takes. It would be really hard to fail this class, just turn in your assignments. He isn't strict AT ALL on deadlines, so if you have a job and school you don't have to worry about turning things in right on time.

Professor Mendoza is amazing! I took him for ENC 1101 & 1102. He is very lenient on due dates so you should have no issues receiving a good grade for any assignment. Professor Mendoza is an awesome English II professor at Seminole State (Oviedo) campus. He is so helpful and makes the class fun. He's so funny and is a comic book fan, so if you like comic's it's even more fun. He lets you re-write your essays for a better grade, do the extra credit, and you'll will be A ok! He is a really caring professor.

What a great professor! He's a little corky and funny. Gives you all the tools you can possible need to write your paper and complete all tasks given. His lectures are pretty much straight forward, bring the book and follow along. You can always talk to him after class if you need help in anything related to class. Will be attending ENC 102.

Easy A. I took him summer of 2017 and he was really chill. Attendance is mandatory but you can come late and he still counts you in. Do extra credit, it'll help keep your grade up.

Mendoza is pretty laid back and lets you submit assignments sometimes weeks after something was "due" he also isn't strict about attendance. He does assign quite a bit of homework but it is all online and super easy.

Hes a good and easy professor. The lab is hard but he didn't make it. The one complain I have about him is he's too liberal and talks his liberal views too much which is annoying if you're a conservative like me.

This professor is super fun and easy. He really made class fun and interesting, while I still learned basic English. He is not strict in his due dates, you can turn in papers an infinite amount of times to get full credit, and there is a whole bunch of extra credit opportunity. Mendoza is amazing. He makes an 8:00 class slightly less difficult. Hehas such a hilarious nerdy humor it makes class 1000 times better. He doesn't care if you turn in late assignments. Offers a lot of extra credit. He doesn't take attendance. You can get the textbook, but he's pretty good at showing the online version. FOR SURE WOULD TAKE AGAIN!

He's a professor that actually cares a little too much about your grade. His due dates are pretty loose, but turning essays in on time has its advantages. He talks a lot about comics, and even includes it in his lectures. Pretty great. Only downside is that he'll occasionally bash Trump and DeSantis. Overall, he's a great teacher though!

Man one of the best teacher I ever had honestly. He's not only funny but when you need help he sends voice messages to clarify(honestly it helps). I never really liked essays that's a con, but it's English what would you expect. There's 3 big essays if you do your research honestly you'll do fine. He also gives these mini quizzes which are easy.

This professor was so great I am taking him again. He likes to talk a lot but also likes to include his students in the conversation. Is a big marvel fan and mentions it a lot. He is really chill on grading. Gives you weeks sometimes months to get things done even if late will still grade it normally. Email response right away; clear explanations.

Mendoza is the third professor to teach me the same class. The first two times I failed the course cause I refused to rewrite papers that didnt need to be rewritten. Really wonderful professor. His lectures are a blast, engaging, and funny. He makes English so much fun. Goes out of his way to give ample opportunities for revisions and is prompt with grading. So if papers make you nervous, don't be. Know that he'll work with you and help you fix and learn from mistakes. Would recommend him unequivocally.

The material is slightly harder since its 1102, but the tests are exactly what he lectures on. Tons of extra credit opportunities , makes a lot of jokes but teaches well. Explains everything well and gives you the proper material to study for tests.

Mendoza was such a wonderful first experience in the college world. With a quirky professor who knows so much about what he teaches along with being so fair with his grading. He is lenient and tells you exactly what you need to correct and gives you as many attempts as you need in the allotted time frame.

After taking Mendoza for ENC 1101, returning for 1102 was no question. His interests and planning for the story telling made it so intriguing and kept the lessons feeling new and fresh. The options that he gave for poetry and short stories were also a wonderful read that introduced me to many new authors.

This class was easy if you were willing to do the work. He didn't assign much but the relaxed atmosphere of the classroom can fool students into not doing work. If you are not disciplined and need to be walked through all of your responsibilities this is not the class for you. He is a talker and very funny.

Prof. Mendoza is awesome! He loves comics and always finds a way to include them in his classes. You can tell he's passionate about teaching and truly cares about his students. He's easygoing, super helpful, and always supportive—definitely take him if you get the chance!

Very talkative, and interactive with the class.

This professor was by far one of the best. His class is pretty easy if you like marvel, movies, comics, etc. He gives you second chances if you make a mistake, he gives more than enough time to do assignments and if you are having problems he is more then happy to help you. He is very talkative so which makes the class go by faster.

He is a very entertaining teacher!! He takes the time to get to know his students a little bit, which is nice. Overall, there were a lot of writing that we had to do, but he gives you a lot of time to do it and you can re-submit assignments to improve your previous grade.

Coolest guy ever! Genuinely wants to get to know you but also teaches you MLA and writing techniques in a manner that isn't a drag to learn. Easy 5/5

Took him for both ENC 1101 and ENC 1102. Class is pretty easy and attendance is not mandatory. His lectures are pretty simple, but he gives good information on how to help you with your writing. I would recommend going to class at least 1 a week just to show your face, and to be able to understand what he wants from you in terms of writing.

10/10, I would totally recommend Prof. Mendoza 100%. He is an excellent teacher who provides great feedback. He really goes in depth during his lectures but the homework is also formatted to where you could understand what's going on if you happen to miss a day. He's friendly, entertaining, and understanding if you need help.

Best English professor!!!! Take any class he offers and you won't regret it. I don't even like to write or learn about English but this class made me love it.
