Content of class very difficult, but he made it very clear and was eager to help everyone pass/succeed; offered extra help at any time. Very likeable man, very friendly!

Dr. Hurley really defines "teacher", he is the best professor I ever had thru college. He really breaks it down for those that find math to be very difficult. He is always there to help AND he is the best advisor as well!!

Professor Hurley was a very good teacher. He made the learning material easy to understand, and was very helpful if you had any questions that needed to be addressed.

Dr. Hurley is kind, understanding and has a great sense of humor. The fact that he is also brilliant makes for an unusual mix. I was extremely intimidated by stats before I took his class, but his teaching was so good I got it in the end. He's also a great psych advisor.

Do anything to get Dr. Hurley to teach Stats! His final exam is take-home, and even if you don't understand math, he makes it understandable. You will for sure get an A or B if you study for his exams. I took him on MWF at 9:30am, just b/c I heard he was such a good teacher! Do not take anyone else for stats!!!

Everything everyone has said is true about him! He is great and really wants you to do well. Take advantage of his extra credit because there are a lot of opportunities to do well in his class! The final is take home!! If you go to class then you will do fine.

He was a very good teacher and always answers emails. I didn't think I would do that well in this class, but the way he teaches is slow and very helpful if you aren't mathematically inclined. Def take him!

I rearranged my entire schedule to take his class. It was the best decision I ever made. Just don't be afraid to ask him questions, he will explain it and will even use different ways of teaching to help you understand. It is very easy to contact him with any questions through email. He is a perfect teacher for anyone who is afraid of stats.

Dr. Hurley is a great professor. I had him for the Summer semester and got an A. He gives a lot of extra credit and teaches really well. He tries his best to make sure everyone understands the concepts and especially the math parts. I recommend taking him if his class is open! His classes quickly fill up because everyone knows he is good!

TAKE THIS CLASS-Psyc 300 is a BS class required for majors. Dr. Hurley boils it down to the easiest form without busywork. Stats sounds scary, but after the first week you'll realize how basic and how simple he intends it to be. Question on his take homes? Show up @ office hours and get his immediate and individual help. AWESOME prof =)

Upon hearing about how nice Dr. Hurley was, I decided to take Psyc in the Community and Stats with him. Let me tell you, both experiences were the best. He made Psyc in the community an enjoyable experience. Stats was an AWESOME class. I hate math. I'm terrible at it, but Dr. Hurley intends it to be comprehensible. He's excellent! Take him!

BY FAR the best professor at Mason. Dr. Hurley is my adviser as well as my stats professor. I was terrified of stats, but Dr. Hurley was extremely helpful.The book was also a good thing to have.

AMAZING professor. Very helpful and if anything is confusing, he will go back and clarify it because he genuinely seems to want his students to learn and understand the material. Definitely attend class though because if not, you will probably be behind! The optional textbook really isn't as helpful as the lectures.

Amazing stats professor! TAKE HIM AT ALL COSTS. I was so afraid of stats but he explains so well. He is the nicest professor ever, genuinely wants everyone to get an A and practically gives extra credit for free after every exam! Also really great at responding to emails, and a fantastic advisor! You will regret it if you don't take his class.

Dr. Hurley is one of the nicest professors at Mason. He gives extra credit on every exam including the final. You don't need the textbook for this class as long as you go to class and take notes. This class is an easy A if you take it with Dr. Hurley!

Great Prof. He takes his time to teach and make sure you learn everything. He wants you to ask question and he will answer. He will change the way he taught something if it will make it easier for you t o understand.

This is a community-service based class so basically you have to do an internship and meet with Dr. Hurley in class only twice in the semester (I took summer) Easy stuff, have some writing to do besides the internship, but it's not hard. And I love Dr. Hurley, he is always ready to help out if you have any problems. Really recommend this class!

He explains very clearly, welcomes questions, and is good-natured and understanding (he's also the psych advisor). Gives you formulas on all the tests. Attendance is optional, but you'll be lost without his notes, so don't skip. Great professor, really wants to help you learn. Offers extra credit with each test. Responds promptly to emails.

SIMPLY THE BEST. If you have to wait a semester or two in order to take him for stats then do it.

Dr. Hurley's lectures aren't mandatory in attendance, but you should absolutely go! His teaching is so much more clear than the textbook. Formulas are provided on the tests, and he's responsive to emails. Great professor!

So attendance for this class is not mandatory but you should go because he does not post the lectures online. 4 tests, which includes the final (not cumulative) and optional make-up exam. The lab has a quiz and homework due each class. You really do not need the book he goes over everything you need to know. He makes stats easy def take him!

HANDS DOWN the best teacher I've had at GMU. Genuinely cares about his students and is always available for review. The class material wasn't too bad if you attend class and pay attention, three exams and a open note final. Also, plenty of extra credit opportunities. Don't bother with the textbook either because the lectures are good enough.

this man is a GOD. i had to take psyc300 in the summer and somehow he took what is the most ridiculously hard subject for me (math and stats) and made it into a concept i could understand and i am terrible at math. Dr. Hurley is simply the best and is an incredible asset to GMU

The most amazing and inspirational professor I have ever met. Psy300 was one of the harder classes I've taken but he tries his best to give out as much credit as possible so that everyone passes. Gives a huge curve on each exam and gives extra credit assignments for a few point to help boost your grade. Just never skip class and take good notes!

Dr. Hurley was a very good professor. He wants to be sure that every student understands the concepts, and he uses a lot of good examples. He lets you retake one test if you aren't satisfied with the grade received and he makes time for review before tests.

Dr. Hurley is a great teacher, and he really tries to make sure you succeed. He allows one make-up exam if you are not satisfied with one grade, and the final is open notes. His lectures are fantastic, and he does not post his notes online, so even though attendance is not mandatory, I would recommend going.

Absolutely amazing Professor as well as advisor. I would highly recommend him to take at least once in your time at George Mason. The community engagement part of the class was time consuming but otherwise he's incredible and precise with grading and communicating with students.

I took him for Financial Literacy. His teaching is great. I learned so much- it was worth every penny. By taking this class I will earn more money (through investing and being tax efficient). He runs the course as UNIV classes should be - lecture with some discussion. He does not give much work but he doesnt need to since his lectures are great!!

I took the alternative version of PSYC 327 and it was so easy and straight forward, easy A. I also took PSYC 300 with him I wish he taught every single PSYC course cause I would take them all with him. He's the best!

You're making a mistake if you don't take a course with the best psych advisor at Mason. Dr. Hurley CARES, and is responsive, and his TA grades quickly. The work was easy- it helped prepare for after graduation through sites like linkedin, etc. The work was mainly just building up our resumes and resources, to be the best scholar we can postgrad.

If I could sum up Dr. Hurley in one word it would be inspirational. He is not only a fantastic professor and academic advisor but a wonderful person. Dr. Hurley truly cares about his students. He is the first Professor to respond to your email, submit your grades, and help you with difficult situations. I highly recommend taking his course!

I completed this course over the summer and the work was fairly manageable. Do everything and you'll be fine. One small gripe: the professor near the end of the semester was unable to be contacted for multiple days a time, especially when final grades were due. It was a challenge to get answers to questions promptly during those times. GL! :)

Dr. Hurley is a great professor and taught this subject well. Be sure to take good notes and attend class, unless you want to struggle on exams. This course had an easy lab linked with it and in-class assignments were a breeze. However, all exams do occur during the lab. ATTEND THE REVIEW SESSIONS. They will set you up well for the exams. Very nice, down to earth professor. His grade guidelines are clearly outlined and honestly extremely easy: The only things he cares about is attendence & his post-class quizes, which is basically his way of seeing if you were taking notes (which aren't hard, its super easy to follow along). Definition of an Easy-A course. Take him if he's available

He doesn't always go to time, prefers that you just know the material. Super approachable and friendly, really breaks down the material so that you learn. Participation matters, especially discussion boards. I got a B because I submitted a lot of my DBs late.

Dr. Hurley is the best. If you need a one credit class, definitely take this. After each lecture you turn in a piece of paper with three things you learned and afterwards he posts a DB question. That's it for each week. At the end of the semester there's a very small, manageable assignment. Learned a lot in a low-stress way

Very easy lectures. Gave a lot of good financial advice. The only grades in class are discussion boards, quizzes, and the final project. All of them are super easy and don't have due dates, so you don't get any points removed and can finish with a 100. Quizzes are taken at the end of class and it's just 3 things you learned in the lecture

I took his online psych class and it was very easy. His assignments were very clear and straight-forward. He is also very responsive via email. The only problem I had was his assignments were a little outdated. Some assignments required reading from certain websites that did not exist anymore. But as long as you email him, he will help you.

For the PSYC 327, you do have to do journals and essays which can be a lot, but they are all super easy... even if you procrastinate till the end, he gives you 100%. Just email him! Great guy!

Love this professor, he is so knowledgeable and an amazing professor/advisor to have. This course taught me so much about finances that I needed to know, but it was taught in such an easy way that I was able to retain it and understand it. He only gives you two small things to do a week! Such a low stress class, take him and you wont regret it!
