He likes to give quizes at the begining of class, just review notes and scan the chapters, they are only 5 questions. The notes he gives in class are bascily what you should go by, so no missing class :( but everything else is good.

He's a really great guy and his class is an easy A if you apply yourself. 50% of grade is from 2 tests (25% ea), 25% attendance and 25% quizes, many of them unnanounced pop quizes (usually just on vocab), so attendance is VERY important. He despises cell phones so make sure you turn it off before his class or he will FREAK. Nice, smart guy.

Somehow, I only got a C which was because of the 2 major tests. I thought they were hard. However, his quizzes are easy and attendance is a forth of your grade. I did learn alot about politics. He sure gave us a better understanding of how it works. He definately knows his stuff.

Professor Mitchell revived my interest in the political world again.I do not like teachers who believe that their beliefs must be mine and Professor Mitchell has been one of the few who has not tried to do that.Although I an a morning person,he has made it worth the effort to come to school .Love his teaching.No bias.He is a walking encyclopedia.

First of all, I was never much into politics, but the way that Mr. Mitchell teaches is very entertaining. He is the type of teacher that makes you look forward to going to class everyday. Best of all, he will quickly respond to your emails and answer your questions. Anyone who takes his class will be very glad. Highly recommended teacher!

He is fantastic. He really cares about his students, he is a super nice guy and always is eager to answer your questions and be as helpful as possible. Don't turn your cell phone on in class! I took his online class and he is very organized with this assignments , you have to complete all assignments and test before the course ends ,so it's all up to you whether you finish before. Professor Mitchell is very organized, and I liked that he had us watch part of his lectures online, so that we didn't feel so rushed in class. There were only 3 or 4 tests and quite a few quizzes (no papers or projects), and they were all online, which I liked.

I will start off by saying you need to take this class for American Gov./POLS! When you take an online class you expect to be able to go at your own pace, well some online classes as you know still don't let you do that. But this class does! I was skeptical at first in taking this class during the summer but I'm glad I did. Dr. Mitchell is clear as to the expectation of the class. His class is very simple, read the chapters, listen to the lectures and take notes; there were several chapter quizzes and three exams. He also has a great sense of humor.

Dr. Mitchell is funny and informative, but I did have some problems. The online lectures are mandatory, are about 30-90minutes total, but we got out of class at least 15-20minutes early each class. The time needed outside of class to listen is disproportionate to the in class time. He also repeats himself a lot.

Dr. Mitchell has online classes down to an art! 100% self-guided. Be careful if you are not a motivated person as you will not do well. Lots of reading and pre-recorded lectures but if you pay attention and complete everything in a timely manner, you will do well. I would really like to see more classes offered by this professor! A

I took this class online summer semester and literally all you have to do is follow the schedule on the syllabus. Listen to all lectures. Read assigned book chapters. Take quizzes. Complete exam study guides. Take exams. Boom youre finished. All work is due by the end of the semester, so you can go at your own pace.

He gives all of your assignments at the beginning of the semester, theyre do by the end of the semester. All of the quizzes can be found online for the most part. You have to listen to his lecture videos and take notes to pass the exams. His lectures are great by the way.

Dr. Mitchell is hilarious. His class is easy if you download/listen to the lectures & take the quizzes on time. He is strict about electronics. All assignments are through icollege & his class lectures are only about 30 minutes. You have the option to take midterm & final at home (with notes) or in class (no notes). 1 semester project & that's all.

Because of Dr. Mitchell's great (and lengthy) homework lectures, class is mostly just discussion, which is really helpful. Perfect balance of online and in person class.

I took Pro. Mitchell online in Spring 2020. Easy A! The class is self-paced. All work is due on the last day of class. There is a to-do list with 37 things on it (chapter readings, listening to lectures, easy quizzes, and 1 short paper). Once you complete the list, you're done with the class. Lectures are lengthy, but very interesting. Easy class!

This class was super easy AND interesting. I learned so much and feel much more enlightened about politics. It is a lot of reading and A LOT of listening. The lectures took hours to get through. Still, everything is at your own pace entirely, everything is due on the last day. I finished way ahead of time. He's really sarcastic too, in a good way.

Taking this online class and for the first time, they decided to change up some things. Handled by a different instructor. Paid $70 for completing RealizeIt. Many modules (find quizlets). Lecture HEAVY. Several quizzes 15 questions each, wording pretty tough to carefully take notes and review. Overall not bad, just very VERY time-consuming.

There were hours of lectures but I enjoyed them and it helps to listen and take notes so that you'll pass the course. I would definitely take another course taught by Prof. Mitchell. His lectures and course work are very well put together so that he prepares his students to pass the quizzes and exams.

I am from another country and have no background knowledge about the subject, but this professor is amazing. He explains everything very clearly and in great details. I don't have any difficulty learning the course. Additionally, I get to learn at my own pace. Everything is very easy as long as you read the book and TAKE GOOD NOTES.

If you get lower than an A you are quite literally dumb lmao. Finished the entire course in the last 3 days and had nearly a 100. The textbook is completely useless. Just pay attention to and watch all his lectures at 1.5x or 2x speed and that is all you need to get a 100 on all tests. Grade is composed of 3 tests (25% each) and like 13 ez quizzes.

Dr Mitchell is pretty cut and dry. If you play by the rules (no electronics in class, get your work done on time, etc) you'll do well in his class. No group projects, no extra credit, no exceptions. Summer online: Easy class, quizzes based on key terms from textbook worth 40% of grade. He drops one. Two tests based on his lectures, worth 30% each (60% total). No final. Tons of lectures but they are entertaining and informative, it never felt like a chore. If you listen to them the tests are easy. Would definitely take another class of his.
