If you struggle with math and need a teacher that is able to explain the "how" and "why" behind math problems, save yourself the W and pick Oswalt or some other teacher. Muffuletto really tries to be a decent teacher, and seems like a great guy, but he's not the teacher that will make you understand the topic being taught. His class was stressful.
The course is setup by a coordinator, so instructors have little control over the coursework. As a teacher, Muffuletto is mediocre. He talks in circles, wastes time on little stuff rather than doing hard stuff in our sparse time. But is cool/helpful in the lab/after class. Basically, the class is self-teaching, so don't stress over the teacher.
literally the driest person on the planet. from the homework to the quizzes to the tests its all on online notes that everyone who takes math 1023 has. and he doesn't care to help. very boring and rude. only good thing is assignments are consistent which has nothing to do with him so he literally doesn't do anything.
I am very bad at math but his lectures are very clear and easy to understand. I hate when math teachers only teach the easier problems and leave you to the hard stuff in homework but he is really good about making sure we understand all the ways the problems will be given. Its a lot of homework but fairly easy math.
Very easy just take notes
He did not really seem to be prepared for class and was not really a clear lecturer. He doesn't go over homework, so you don't know if you're doing the work right. The tests and quizzes are tough, and he doesn't give clear guidelines to study for the tests.
This class is hardly taught by whatever teacher you have. Lab hours are required each week, and there's lots of MyMathLab homework and quizzes to complete. All grades come from lab hours, homework, quizzes, and especially tests. He was a good teacher... I'm pretty good in math but had to take this class, and he goes slow to help those confused.
You will be teaching yourself the material for this class. Homework is graded and you will not get credit if it is deemed "messy" and he sometimes picks up homework from weeks before. I do not recommend taking him.
His class is boring but he takes participation. it is only once a week so go. math lab sucks but helps. stop complaining and just do the work its an easy A
You get participation points for going to class, but you only go one day a week and learn about 2 sections of info, so I ended up having to teach myself most of it. He's a nice guy, but your grade really depends on what you do in the lab with homework. I hate math, and i found some of it easy and some rather difficult. I needed outside help.
Comes to class unprepared and at times hes not even sure how to answer his own math problems. Takes off points if you dont write your answer the exact way he wants you to, even if your answer is actually correct. Grades homework, quizzes, and test as if you should be a mathematician. I do not recommend him for MATH 1202!!!!
If you are a busy person dont take this class. If you do things last minute and something comes up like severe sickness it doesnt matter. Everything is graded. There are lots of homework and quizzes and a ridiculous amount of lab hours due every week. He also doesnt always know what he is talking about and doesnt give very good examples.
He is a really nice guy I just did not benefit from going to class. I went to class because it was part of our grade but if it wasn't, I wouldn't have gone. I personally am not the best in math so I had to work harder but what he went over in class was very different from the homework, quizzes, and tests. There are also mandatory math lab hours.
He explains concepts well and knows what he is doing. Go to class for participation points. If you pay attention in class and do the homeworks/quizzes you will do fine.
once a week plus mandatory math lab hours. People complain about it, but if I didn't have to get the hours I would've failed. Fit it into your schedule. Since It's once a week, ask questions in the lab and on the top right corner you can click "show me an example". Helps a lot. Get your hours, complete hw's/quizzes, & do practice tests easy A
Hes a pretty average math teacher. If you have to take trig, beware that its super boring. Muffuletto sometimes seems like a robot; hes missing any kind of human emotion ever. But its math, so what can you expect?
Hands down rudest teacher Ive ever had; I walked into class 4 minutes late once and he wouldnt mark me as present for the day because I had missed 8% of class and shouldnt have bothered coming at all. Grades like youre a mathematician, doesnt explain concepts well, and is just a bad teacher. Dropped, took Kurtz and easily passed with a B+.
He is a very good professor. He wants you to learn and pass the class. He is extremely understanding. He always e-mails information that his students must know.
Hes very lenient. He has a grace period for assignments so the whole chapter wont be due until 2 weeks later, and he also gives extensions. This class is so easy. Its a bit of homework, but the homework is exactly like the quiz. Super easy and no problems with this professor.
Very easy professor, I reached out on several occasions and he was quick to reply especially when there was an issue with Proctoru. Study guides were exactly like the exams and while there was quite a bit of homework it wasn't unbearable and if you have a basic understanding of math you will do great easily.
The RUDEST teacher i've had. He had a confrontation in front of the entire class with a student because she was getting a haircut, rather than messaging her personally he disrespected her in front of everyone. He has done that with e-mails as well, indirecting students in class. Not good at explaining things, going to class was pointless.
This professor, while easy, really doesn't do much and it can be frustrating. This is literally the easier math class you will ever take, I only came to class for the first 2 weeks and I've never gone back and I don't go to the zooms. I currently have an extremely high A, as long as you do the work on time you'll ace this class so easily.
Hes really caring but sticks to the rules. As long as you go to class (graded on attendance), do your lab hours, and take notes directly as he copys them, you will do really good. He tells you to take the practice tests as many times as possible, LISTEN to that the practice tests are basically the test. Over email can sound a little sassy/rude.
He is a really good instructor, despite the negative reviews. Provides thorough lectures and has previously recorded lectures on a YouTube channel that were incredibly helpful for those in an online class. There are plenty of grace periods and extensions for those who need it. Stay on top of the homework and quizzes and you'll be fine.
Easiest class I've ever taken at LSU
Muffuletto is a great professor, and very easy to understand. His teaching is very straightforward. He is a very clear communicator. If you do the work you will pass with a good grade. :)
This class is extremely easy. Professor goes over everything needed for the exam and doesn't make the exams super hard. A lot of homework/quizzes on Pearson but they are not very difficult to do. Three exams throughout semester and they are exactly like the practice exams. Highly recommend to any non-math majors in need of a math credit!
His tests are hard unless you understand what you are learning. He does drop a homework grade and quiz, but make sure you arrive to class before he starts. He wont accept any late work when going to class meaning if you show up at 10:35 to a 10:30 class he will not accept.
He's just... okay. Lots of homework on Pearson, but easy so long as you pay attention to the material. Prof is pretty forgettable, but don't expect him to care about personal matters (i.e. family emergency that makes you submit an assignment late).
He is a very nice man, always extending the grace period. Make sure you are clear on the dates of your homework and quizzes as once it is past the grace period he has set for completing assignments, there is no fixing it. That was my only mistake. However, unless you really don't understand, class is not necessary. Just get your assignments done.
I really liked taking Muffuletto's class, I didn't talk to him much but the work was very easy, I would 100% recommend taking it online. Tests were just like the Practice Tests, not too much homework.
Attendance isn't required, he posts really thorough and easy-to-understand videos on his youtube channel for each section. Just watch the videos and do the mathlab homework and you'll probably get a 100. Everything has multiple attempts except big tests, which are in Himes and exactly like the practice. Very easy class for anyone not great at math.
Taking this class online was actually really easy and you get unlimited attempts on hw and your quizzes are on mathlab. exams in himes and they're just like the quizzes and hw so they're not hard at all
Professor Muffuletto is an amazing professor. He records his lectures and explains the topic very well. I'm awful at math, yet I passed with an A+. All you need to do to get a good grade is watch the lectures and do the homework. The homework and quizzes have many chances to be able to take them. I have no idea why he has such an awful rate.
Professor Muffuletto is a thorough professor who breaks down subjects that make it better for students to understand. The course is filled with assignments and quizzes that are unproctored, allowing students to take them at their own convenience. Nevertheless, the tests are proctored, so prepare for those by taking the practice tests.
Keep up with the homework and quizzes or you will become behind very quickly. I liked his lectures since the class was easy and he teaches it well. He has many options to help understand more (youtube, homework, practice tests). The practice tests were EXACTLY like the tests. Use them!! Great professor. I would suggest him to anyone.
Math 1029 was an easy course, it's basic algebra. He gives plenty of time to do homework, quizzes, and big quizzes which are all online. There are 3 exams and they are exactly like the practice tests, so very critical to take the practice tests. I ended up with an A and didn't attend lectures, only relied on MML, so it's as easy as it gets.
He is a good teacher and gives a lot of extensions on assignments. The class is easy and he records the lectures so it is not necessary to be in class unless you want to be there. He does remind us about due dates and things for his course every class.Take this class if you need a math credit
Math isn't usually considered easy, but this is called "football math" for a reason (no disrespect to our Tigers lol). He's a great instructor, but you can pass solely relying on help from MML. He's very student-friendly, especially w/ his grading & recorded lectures. You can take quizzes 10x and tests 5x, so if you fail, it had to be intentional.
The easiest college math class you could probably ever take. He records his lectures so you do not have to go to class. Doing the Pearson homeworks can take some time, but they are simple and as long as you do those, the quizzes, and big quizzes it will help. He gives the test question bank out so doing that will be more than enough preparation.
He was a perfect math professor literally gave step-by-step lectures. You don't really have to show up since he has pre-recorded videos on youtube for all assignments. Also, he gives a grace period on all assignments. Btw if you just do the practice test,(there are 3 actual test plus final) they're the same exact thing as the real test and exam.
This class is so incredibly boring and I stopped going in October. You really don't need to go to class.
Take the practice test for the exams and you will do great. This class is really easy and he is very good at explaining things.
You don't need to go to class because he provides lecture videos. He also gives very long grace periods for assignments so it is ok if you miss their original deadlines. There are 3 exams total and there are practice tests provided that are almost an exact layout of the exams. The final exam can take the place of one of the other two exams.
Overwhelming amounts of hw and he didn't do much to explain material. I would not recommend his class at all
Time consuming, but easy class. Only heard the guy's voice once, since attendance wasn't mandatory. Everything's online and he posts all lectures (I never watched). Gives lots of extensions. 3 exams, which are in Himes. All quizzes and homeworks on MyMathLab. If you do better on the final than one of the other 2 exams, he'll drop the lowest.
Math 1029 is the easiest math course. If you have a brain you'll pass the class. Only went the first week, but did the homeworks/quizzes and did the practice tests before I took the test. Practice Test is identical to test, just different numbers. Also this professor sent out emails lots to remind his students about assignments which was helpful.
I am not a strong math student but he explains everything very well during lectures (which you can also watch online or you can watch his YouTube channel.) You are not required to go to class but it definitely helps as he usually goes over problems that people struggle with most. His deadlines are also flexible. Tests mirror the homework/quizes.
1029 is so easy. he is very clear with deadlines which makes it easy to get work done. he extended the deadline of a chapter because the class avg was low!!
Easy class and easy A if you stay on top of your work. No need to attend class since everything is online.
Super easy. I went to class once, and am finishing the class with a 99, only because I got lazy and didn't complete the assignments all the way. He extends the homework deadlines all the time, and even opened all the homework up from the entire semester and gave full credit. He seems super chill as well, and his slight attitude in emails are funny.
One of the easiest math classes I have ever taken. All of the coursework work is online and lecture notes are pre-recorded on his YouTube channel. Homework in Pearson is time-consuming but it is not unbearable. I highly recommend this class.
The class is pretty easy and he teaches it pretty well. He is very lax with the deadlines and even extended everything for about a week. overall easy class so take it if you aren't that strong in math.
As a student who has always struggled in math, I was relieved that this class was so easy. Lectures are chill and homework is easy. You can easily get ahead of work on Pearson if you chip at homework and quizzes little by little every day. Exams are carbon copies of practice work, so very hard to fail. Amazing man and awesome course.
Lots of homework, like a few assignments and quizzes each week. can retake quizzes an unlimited amount. I got a 100 on every homework assignment and quiz. Have to study for exams but it's really not that bad. 92 on the first exam without studying,55 on second exam without studying,100 on final after studying. Went to class on the first day only
Other than his arrogant response to an email he's great don't panic he opened up the work at the end.
He is a good professor who understands the material. Class attendance is not tracked but is important as he goes over the notes. He gives many opportunities to work on your grade, he uses Pearson my math lab. He is also frequently available and ready to answer questions.
Very good class and very good professor. Just put in a little work and it will pay off.
He records his lectures and posts them to moodle (life savers). At times he made complex stuff super simple, and other times I ended up having to teach myself with youtube. The homeworks take up SO much time. He's overall pretty chill, though. Just try your best and pay attention, and you should be okay. Also PLEASE utilize the TAs!!
His homework is on MyMathLab and all exams are in person. He has created practice exams and most lectures are recorded on Moodle if you missed class. Very responsive and likes class participation. If you do the homework, watch the lectures, and take the practice exams you will be fine. never worried abt this class. Also had a great SI leader
gives note pages that you can fill out during class but he posts videos for each one that clearly goes through each chapter. you need to get pearson for this class but he gives a lot of time to do all homeworks and quizzes and extensions. the tests are exactly the homeworks, quizzes, and practice test that you can take as many times as you want.
If you need an easy math credit take this class. I hate math and still passed. Homework/quizzes 100% on Pearson. You'll have 3 tests in Himes but he puts the practice tests on Pearson and he also gives a study guide with all the questions you will see. He gives extended deadlines for Pearson. Never went to class and still passed.
This class was extremely easy. If you are not a math person (like me) I would 100% take the notes. I never went to class but every single one of his lectures is online. It is definitely worth it to print them off so that you have it while taking the practice test. Also I always took the practice-t at least 4 times and got 100's on all tests.
As a non-STEM major, Michael was great. Lectures are all posted online, so attendance is not mandatory. Take notes on lectures, and you have all the knowledge you need for the homework. Two-week grace periods where you could turn in your assignment for full credit after the due date. Unlimited practice exams that are identical to the exams.
Very easy class, and Professor Muffuletto makes it very easy to understand the course work. All work is posted online so you don't have to go to class but I recommend going. To get good grades on the tests I would recommend completing the practice tests multiple times because the real test is often easier.
Very good math professor, I am a psychology major so this class was extremely easy for me.
watched the videos of lectures and got 100%s on all my exams in himes. make sure you do the practice exam a couple times (i didn't use the question bank ones) and you'll do great on the tests. i got a B+ because i missed the deadline for one unit so pay attention to the grace period on the calendar
Incredibly easy class. Has lectures online in case you miss, and homework/quizzes have grace periods and multiple retries. Everything is done online through Pearson. Exams have exactly the same types of questions as the practice tests, so if you do those a couple of times you will be fine.
Take this class. The lessons are in person, or you can watch them on his YouTube channel (I did both). The class is stats and algebra mainly. The number of assignments can be overwhelming but the material is relatively simple and easy to understand with practice. He also has really flexible deadlines.
I'm convinced that Professor Muffuletto is the easiest math professor of 1029. Infinite tries with homework and quiz grades make for easy 100s, and he provides practice tests that are EXACTLY like the tests. Super easy as long as you stay on top of assignments.
Michael Muffuletto, where do I even begin? His grey hair, his dry lectures, and most of all his love for theater. What a round and jolly Santa man he is. The rudeness from his lips is almost as satisfying as his addiction to math. Never before have I seen a man so committed to the job he has to do. So much so that he will even give us twizzlers.
Class was pretty easy, make sure you stay on top of your homework, there is a lot. Do not bother emailing him asking him a question about the test. You will get the most sarcastic response. (his respons motivated me to get 100 on test). Wouldn't take it again, not a nice guy.
Very good lecturer. All his homework had unlimited tries, so it was so easy to get a good grade in his class. The practice exams are the exact replica of the actual exam, so if you do bad on tests, it's probably because you didn't study. He gives plenty of reminders to schedule exams and is overall a great teacher.
To be honest I put off doing this class until the very last minute and I mean like the entire class, assignments, tests, quizzes, and final. I did the entire class in a few days before it ended. I would not recommend doing that as it was extremely time consuming and had I spaced it out like you are supposed to do I maybe could have gotten an A.
One of the best math professors Ive had. He explains the concepts well and through. Attendance is optional but I suggest going to every single class. Do the homework and quizzes to understand the concepts well! Before each exam take the practice test!!! It is a replica of the actual exams which is nice.
There is a lot of homework and quizzes. The final replaces your lowest test grade which is helpful if you do bad on one of them. Responds to emails fairly quickly.
TAKE THIS CLASSSSSSSS! i went to class maybe 2 times and ended with a 98 he records all of his lectures and post them the class is strictly on pearson
I took this class fully online. I was fearful to take an online math course ( it is not my strong suit), I was delighted. The professor cares for his students. Online lectures are very thorough. I liked the teaching style. Homework and quizzes fully prepare you for exams & can be resubmitted until you pass!
Attendance is not mandatory and all assignments are posted and open at the beginning of the semester. There are quite a few homework assignments but you can work on them until the last day of the semester. Very chill and laid back guy. I would take his class again.
Attendance is definitely not mandatory. He post everything he teaches on moodle. For test he gives out a test review that has all the answer to the test. The only thing that is difficult about this class is the crazy amount of homework but he gives use pretty much a whole month to do it in. Definitely would recommend if you need a math credit.
Haven't been to class in a while but everything is online and lectures are posted. A great professor and responds pretty quickly to issues. Work can be a lot sometimes but you have unlimited tries to get an 100% so utilize if you aren't a good test taker or math isn't your strong suit, and the grace period is often extend. Hard to not get an A.
Really easy class, attendance is not mandatory, as long as you go over the material a little bit and get the homework done and understand some of it you will easily get an A
Your grade in this class is up to you he's a low maintenance teacher
Not hard at all, class is optional, highly reccommend, deadlines are reasonable
Lots of homework, but he basically had all assignments open for the semester. For exam prep, SPAM THE PRACTICE EXAM. It is identical to what you will see in Himes. Very easy tests if you do those practice exams multiple times. He is great with communication and his class is laid out in the syllabus. Take him for an easy math gen ed.
Professor Muffuletto was great! He gives lots of time for assignments, plenty of resources to learn from and a great professor overall. Attendance was not mandatory, you could easily do the course online. As long as you pay attention its reallyyyyy hard to not get an A in this class.
This class is super easy really if you like need to go to class do but he also records the lectures as well. Just do your mylab Pearson assignments he does give many extensions for those. Test are in himes they are also pretty easy, take the practice exams!! not the question bank!! the practice exam is almost the same as the actual exam.
