Dry subject, energetic, enthusiastic teacher. Knows subject ;enjoys teaching it

If you want to have a lot of fun in this class this teacher is a must. He is very flakey and any talk about food will make him totally distracted. Most of the class you laugh at all the stupid stuff he does, but somehow still teaches you the material. Tests are as easy as they get.
I enjoyed taking his class! he is very funny and enjoys teaching. His tests are pretty easy but you do need to study.
Funny character... always trips over objects. Easy teacher Does not use the book so don't buy it.
Knows his stuff, entertaining at the least!
so easy. As long as you stay awake, and take note of what he writes on the board, hard to not get an A.
If you're in class and take clear notes, you'll never need the text book for either class...sell your's back now!!!

Funniest guy ever had as a professor. Always laughing. Shake ur head yes and say yes, not shake ur head no and say uh huh right
He is very funny. He knows his stuff and if you attend class, the tests are easy. Like someone else said, he doesn't use the book very much... so it might not be worth it to buy it.
Take micro first. I want to become an economics teacher becuase of this guy. He is my favorite teacher of all time. "MMMM So Good!"

Funniest guy ever had as a professor. great class good examples, one of the best professors at SCC.if you need this class make sure you take it with Nagano.
This teacher is Awesome for Micro-Economics and Macro Economics!!!
He is a great teacher... !!!!!!
great class, great teacher!!!
Prof. Nagano is awesome! I HIGHLY recommend his classes! He's hilarious.
I had Mr. Nagano for both micro and macro, He is awesome. Go to class is a must, he rarely uses the book, os be prepared to take notes. He is a funny, entertaining easily understandable economics teacher. No reason not to get a good grade in this class.
Nagano is great and funny! Don't buy the book because you won't use it or need it for Mac or Mic. Take good notes and you'll be just fine.
Had Mr. Nagano for Macro and Micro in summer session. He makes you understand econ and is understanding and sympathetic to students if you talk to him. I would recommend him above all other econ professors.
Make students feel good...good class atmosphere...very fun and funny
Michael Nagano is hands down the best professor I've ever had at SCC. He is engaging, understanding, intelligent and funny. Highly recomended.
He is awesome I have taken him for both Micro and Macro. I have taken other Econ teachers at SCC and he is hands down the BEST!!
His lectures are never boring, you are laughing the entire time! And his quizzes are really easy if you review your notes.
Nagano is a great teacher! one of the best. very helpful. all you have to do is ask! he gives out easy quizzes and the tests are not too bad as long as you look over your notes. I took Kumar before Nagano and ended up dropping Kumar's class. Kumar was way too hard and strict. and to top it off i couldn't understand what he was saying half the time.
A great teacher, if you are willing to do your part. He should be nominated for the Federal Reserve Chairman.
AWESONE TEACHER!! took both macro and micro with him, and got A's he's very funny and makes lectures easy to understand... no homework :) just look over your notes and attend class
AMAZING! He is so funny and weird but a very easy class.
Such a funny guy! Explains thing THOROUGHLY and compares everything to food, which helps because we all like food. Seriously though, I took Macro with another prof. last semester and HATED economics. This class is awesome and will be using him for all future economic classes!
This professor is fun!! it is the easiest class i have ever taken! you will get an A for sure..even if you are the dumbest in the world..quizzes are super easy, DO NOT BUY THE BOOK BECAUSE YOU WILL WASTE MONEY, HE USES ONLY NOTES
Really funny teacher. Explains well and gives good notes. Will be taking his class next semester for micro. He is a easy teacher, i recommend.
Had him for microeconomics, didnt like him. All he does is tests and quizzes, and so if u fail or dont do well, you cant get any homework points. He failed me, and told me ill let u know if u dont pass, but just failed me. My advice, dont take this micro class!! Beware
Great teacher, great guy! He is a little weird, but trys to relate to students by using beer/cookies and stuff like that as examples in his lectures. No homework, just lots of quizs. You have to take notes and study for a good grade. He will bump up your grade if needed at the end of the semesteri had a 77, he bumped it to a B without having to ask
Take good notes, pay attention to class examples and study for the quizzes. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't show up, you will have a tough time on all the quizzes. There is no homework, just quizzes and tests. An A is possible if you do well on quizzes and tests. I should've got a C in the class, but bumped me up to an B.
This class is extremely easy as long as you take very clear notes and go to class! He makes attendance not mandatory but if you dont come you wont get an A! Just go and get an A.
Took micro econ with Nagano. Attendance is not mandatory but there isn't any homework or extra credit. It's all from quiz/test scores which come directly from class lectures.. So if you don't go to class you'll have a very hard time getting an A or even managing a B... He is friendly & funny but has a tendency to get off subject / repeat himself
Really easy class. No textbook needed, lectures are necessary to attend to get all the information, good deal of studying required but no homework and easier than most Econ professors.
He's a really funny guy and makes a boring subject like micro econ interesting and cool. Make sure you take good notes.
Show up to class and take notes. There is no homework in this class at all, it's all about quizzes and tests.
Such a great teacher I feel like I'm watching a sitcom show not taking an Economics class. Very entertaining and knowledgable. He makes the class fun.
Quizzes are very straight forward and tests are pretty easy if you attend class and study a bit. He's a great teacher and explains everything really clearly! Take this class!
This class is purely lecture. I didn't buy the book and never needed it. He just lectures the whole time and uses the whiteboard. He's not bad for a teacher, kind of boring, but explains everything clearly. Very easy A, no homework, little quiz each week, just be sure to go to every class and take good notes.
I honestly didn't use the text book once during this course. If you miss class be sure to get (efficient) notes taken because all quizzes and exams are based off of his notes in lecture. Nagano was fun, personally the subject is a bit boring but it was a better class than I expected and I thoroughly enjoyed Nagano and his love of the subject.
Great guy, funny jokes. easy to remember method of teaching. All quiz and test based on his notes. very useful and organized. Fun class.
His sometimes broken English is funny and the things he says are hilarious. I have filmed it a few times. But he gives questions on the tests that he doesn't cover and he isn't really good at explaining the material. The only reason I think he gets good reviews is because he has a really funny personality. Not here to laugh though.
HE IS THE BEST ECONOMIC TEACHER OUT THERE!!! His notes are very helpful, provides great hilarious examples which is easy for us to remember. If you study and read all his notes and remember his lectures, the A is in your hands! :D
You have to go to class if not make sure you get the notes missed from someone, he also reviews the previous class before starting class. Quizzes and test are pretty easy. Use the practice test online and will pass. Straight forward class, no surprises. No homework which is great!
Everything you need to know for the quizzes and tests are talked about in class, all you have to do is copy what he writes on the board and study it. Easy class if you follow the material talked about in class. His lectures often seem lengthy when he talks about a simple concept for way too long.
I took the hybrid format of ECN 211, 1 day a week. Must go to class and take good notes in order to pass. His lectures are so long and boring, but he does have his funny moments. Overall, difficult subject but he makes the class as easy as possible. He's average at teaching it, really disappointed because i thought he would be better.
Mr. Nagano was a great teacher. Yeah the class can be a bit boring, but you can put your headphones in and check your phone whenever. Basically you show up to class and he lectures. He will write everything you need to know on the board so as long as you copy whats on the board you will be fine so it is important to attend class. And NO HOMEWORK!!
Professor Nagano is a pretty decent professor, but you MUST take notes (unless you have a photographic memory)!!!! There were quite a few times where I was just completely lost, because he would sometimes go back and forth with his notes on the board and erase and rewrite graphs. Overall, I think he's a good teacher, I would take another class.
Nagano explains macro in a clear and easy-to-understand way. Although he is a little strange, Nagano is a humble and kind man that is always open for questions. All you have to do is show up for class, take good notes, and review for the quizzes and tests. Careful about telling him your job. He will use it as an example for the entire semester! (:
I took Macroeconomics over the summer with the hybrid class (one 3 hour meeting a week) and really thought Mr. Nagano did a good job of fitting the large amount of material in such a small time. His class can get a little dry sometimes, but he's a funny guy and really tries to keep it interesting. My only complaint is that he is really disorganized
Gives amazing lectures and has some quirky sayings that you'll get used to. If you are able to attend the majority of his lectures, no need to buy the online text book, I didn't accessed mine once the entire semester. There are 2 quizzes and a test for every section he covers. He'll drop the lowest 2 quiz scores at the end of the semester.
He was very quirky. He was weird and had some weird stories. I loved his class and didn't fall asleep once! and that is impressive since it was a morning class. He lectured a lot and had several tests that made up your score. the tests were easy if you knew the material. The tests include essays, as well as multiple choice. I always did well.
No text book needed and absolutely NO homework, he gives you practice questions and the exact short answer questions before every test. However, there is a quiz every week in the first 15 minutes of class so you definitely need to attend class as much as possible, but if you show up all the time, and take good notes you'll pass with an A or B
Mr. Nagano was an awesome teacher. I really felt that I had grasped the concepts of Macroeconomics much better with his teaching style. While it can be difficult to read his writing at some times, he is a fantastic lecturer. I would highly take him for Principles of Macroeconomics.
Overall good choice for an online professor. Online quiz and test were fairly simple. Read the book and you should get an A
Im not sure how people could see this class being fun and exciting, through all of my 19 years of living and roughly 15 years of being In school. This class is by far the most boring and life draining class I've ever taken. Nagano is a cool guy with the corny jokes, but this class is what makes me lose sleep. Good luck.
Best course I've ever taken! The material was too easy to comprehend & his quizzes & tests relate to the material in the notes. We didn't have a whole lot of communication (not needed) but he was still caring to my situation with my due dates. You HAVE to read the notes because each chapter is just a quiz & a test. 11/10 stars HIGHLY recommended
Hes a goofball and with a stoner personality but the information really sticks well. I took both macro and micro economics with him. While I cant say he inspired me to learn more on the topic, I really appreciated his teaching style.
Class is hard online. Econ is not fun to take. And quizzes are hard as well.
Lots of tests, hardly any extra credit, tests are hard and never responds to emails.
Tests were extremely difficult I didn't understand any of this course, tests are worth a lot of points but even though this class is online I don't think I could pass it if I took it in person. Most people aren't Econ majors so if you just try and don't understand Econ or have never you should pass, just try your best.
Tests are a little difficult, his online ECN212 class was a little easier, barley passed the course with a B. Take the course online, tests and quizzes are not difficult but not hard, if you take Econ in person you won't understand anything. Quizzes can get a little tricky at times cause you could read the whole book and have a headache.
Nagano is such an amazing teacher! He shows that he truly loves what he does and know what he is talking about. He's actually pretty funny too, which makes the class that much better. He only grades you on participation, at home Quizzes and in class Exams so make sure you don't miss class.
Great professor. Took his class online. Really cares about his students and wants them to succeed! Very involved professor would take his class!
One of the better teachers out there. He teaches macroeconomics in an easy basic level of understanding. Would really recommend taking his class
Took the online class. There is pages and pages of online textbook reading for each weekly module. You can take each quiz twice for your best score, but the assignment can only be submitted once and is worth more than double the quiz. The questions can be very vague and misleading. Tried emailing the teacher for more help but never got a response.
I would highly recommend the instructor's class. He gave me advice how to get a better grade. He was very helpful. I wish I took his class in person.
To be honest the class is pre set up and I have had zero interaction with my teacher. I have emailed him with 0 response even when he says email me if you have questions or issues. I actually enjoy the class the reading and videos help me learn well. I just have had other on your own time classes with much more interaction from the teacher.
Maricopa requires all econ classes to take these tedious hard reading comprehension quizzes for the textbook--which Prof Nagano makes these HW 10 Quizzes 40points each. 4 200point exams all based on lectures only: 25 Multiple Choice and 3 short answer--non honours students get short answer questions ahead of time. Dry but lots of fun bad dad jokes.
Ive taken both his classes and as long as you pay attention in this class you will do well! There are quizzes online based off the readings in the course for each module. But the exam themselves are based off the lectures he gives in class, so it's not too difficult as long as you read things thoroughly! He's also a very fun/funny professor :)
Be prepared to do a bit of extra work! Though it can be a bit it's understandable, since it helps get more of an understanding on the topics. Pay attention, take notes, read online materials and you will be set! I've noticed most of the people who give a bad review were the same ones slacking in class. So just work hard and be on top of your work!
Prof. Nagano is one of the best teachers I've ever had! He's so funny and wholesome. As long as you take notes and pay attention, you will do good in this class. Take this class!
Super fun professor and focused on keeping things simple and many times during lectures would mention that he wants to keep things simple. Caring and helpful, doesn't respond to emails a lot but is still helpful if you need help. Pretty easy class if you stay on top of your work and study.
Mr. Nagano is a good professor. My class was online but when ever I needed help and I reached out he would reply quickly and be super helpful. Most of it is just videos and readings with notes and quizzes. Very simple class but you can fall behind if you don't apply yourself and schedule time to do the work.
The professor did not have clear instructions on what to do for written assignments! When I did what was expected of me from the instructions, I would receive a bad grade with no feedback on what I did wrong... I would email him asking for feedback and get nothing.
Never provided clear grading instructions for assignments and never gave any feedback. Additionally, he hasn't responded to a single email, despite the many I've sent. Overall, the class was pretty easy and largely self-paced. However, if you need guidance or feedback from a teacher to learn effectively, I would not recommend this class.
