DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY'S MATH 110 STUDENTS! THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TAKING ABOUT. THIS GUY GOES WAY TOO FAST, DOES NOT COVER THE STUFF WELL, AND THEN EXPECTS US TO HAVE AN EXCEPTIONAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENT!!! MR NASAB IS A LOUSY PROFESSOR!!!!
Excellent professor, teaches in great detail and helps every time you need it. Take him you won't regret it, his tests are not hard if you do your extra credit assignments and homework.
This Guy is hard, if you want to go to school forever take him. I had to study my butt of for a letter grade C. The testes are not what you do from the homework. He love to give challenging problems.
Here's a joke: How can you go from getting an A in pre-calculus, to getting an F in Calc 1? TAKE NASAB'S CLASS!!!!!! It's happened to me!
This class is very hard with him as your teacher! He can be a cool teacher but he goes over the material way to fast and doesnt explain everything all that well @ times!
Like the other poster: went from an A in precalc and all other math classes to an F in his calc 1 class. Going to repeat the course with another instructor to get my GPA back up! He's nice enough, I just couldn't click with his teaching.
JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW, I'M NOT TRYING TO TRASH NASAB. HE IS A VERY VERY NICE GUY, BUT HIS EXAMS ARE A LOT MORE COMPLICATED THAN HIS LECTURES WOULD MAKE YOU THINK. HE LOVES TO GIVE HARD PROBLEMS.
hes a cool teacher if the class is outgoing he will be too. he likes everyone to participate and he gives extra credit. also very easy to talk 2
Yes his exams are hard, but that is the way exams are supposed to be. If you do your homework and ask questions you will pass. Just pay attention to his examples and you will do fine. Besides when you have question, he will help with pleasure.
THIS TEACHER IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER OTHER STUDENTS MIGHT OF SAID THAT HE IS HARD, THAT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T TAKE GOOD NOTES AND PAYED ATTENTION. HIS QUIZZES ARE NOT HARD AND HIS TEST ARE FAIRLY EASY. JUST KNOW YOUR MATH AND YOU ARE FINE.
i couldn't understand math, and it wasn't unitl i took mr. nasab that i finally understood. his exams were a bit hard but if you ever need help in understanding something he was always there to help out his students. best math teacher i've ever had!
He has a really good sense of humor and a good math teacher. His test are not that hard and doesn't give out that many problems for homework. Helpful when you ask him.
He gives you class time to study for all examines and quizes which are very easy. if you need minimal to moderate help in math he is for you. There is no hand holding!
WOW! If you think math is hard already, stay away from this guy! Hes hillarious but his test are way to hard. His lectures dont cover all the materiel on the tests and quizzes. Stay away if you hate math!
Mr. Nasab is a great teacher, the best math teacher I have had yet. I hated math, but his ways of teaching are very clear and as long as you do the homework and take notes, you will do good. I highly recommend this teacher, he's hilarious and he somehow makes math fun.
VERY GOOD TEACHER TO HIM HIS JOB IS TO HELP YOU LEARN THE MATH NOT TO JUST PASS THE CLASS. I RECOMMEND THAT HIM FOR ANY MATH CLASS THAT IS ON HIS ROSTER.
It's me again, with another joke. How can you fail Calculus the first time, and get an A the 2nd. TAKE NASAB THE FIRST TIME, THEN TAKE IT WITH SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO TEACH!!!!
Best math teacher I'd taken at LBCC. He's easy going and likes to help his students. Take him, he's good. I got an A.
EXCELLENT TEACHER, GIVES EXTRA CREDIT AND STUDY HIS TEST REVIEWS THEY ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE ACTUAL TEST ITSELF. VERY EASY GOING AND UNDERSTANDING AND WILL HELP YOU OUT WHEN NEEDED.
This is guy is sooo awesomee ............. i have had o teacher who gave sooo much extra creditt .... i passsed the clas with over a 100%
Mr.Nasab is that teacher that every college student should have. He's a man of dignity, you can tell when a person loves there job, even it the pay is not great. He is truly a teacher who will help you understand Algebra. I have never passed Algebra in high school.and when i got to college,i passes th
MR. NASAB IS AN AWESOME TEACHER. HIS LECTURES ARE SOMETIMES BORING BUT HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING. I GOT A'S ON EVERY QUIZ/TEST AND I HAD OVER 100% IN THAT CLASS. I RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER IF YOU WANT AN EASY A AND ALSO IF YOU WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING.
Has an accent you can't understand... has hard tests.. if you don't like calculus, definately don't take him... if he doesn't like you he will not help you! gives extra credit, which is a plus!
Good teacher, keep up with homework, take notes, tests are straight forward. Easy to talk to and get help from. Do the test reviews, because the tests are almost the same.
I had taken Nasab for calcules during his first year at LBCC, so my rating not timely (hell, email wasn't even a word back then). I was an English major, so my spleen tended to hurt when taking math. Nevertheless, Nasab was enthusiastic and did care if you learned the subject. He's a challange but is a competent teacher.
Prof. Nasab is a man of great dignity and excellent character who cares deeply for his profession and for helping his students. He does, however, require you to do your part, do your homework, ask questions and generally just be an adult. Take this class if you want to understand math, and if you are willing to put forth some effort. He rocks!
This guy needs to learn how to speak without slurping all the time, and needs to stop saying oh! my god! after everything he says.
he's great and makes himself extremely available. very helpful
Ok, I will admit that math is not my favorite subject in the world, but I will say that he takes something rather simple and makes it hard. In looking over some of the other comments I see ones that say, "OMG he is so funny, and nice, and helpful.....blah blah blah..." What the hell? Are we talking about the same teacher? After each quiz he degrades the people who got the wrong answers. He also has this system that if he makes an error and we find it then we get points towards the next test. 5 p
he's really easy going but he tends to make alot of mistakes on his lectures...he gives you extra credit for his mistakes so that makes up for it...his class is really easy
He is a great teacher and explains algebra very well. He makes the class fun and time goes by very fast.
I took this class after a long absence from school, and I did great. Mr. Nasab was all right, and if you go to SI you will do fine.
very easy guy!so easy to understand.he does everything step by step.he does a review before the test.he gives you a study guid with questions that will be on the test and if you turn that in you get 5pts. ex.credit!turn in homework for 10pts. per test.1 quiz before each test 10pts each.doesnt take role after the 1st month.awesome guy!!
He IS NOT very clear. it's hard to understand him sometimes and he moves at a quicker pace then needed. It really sucks that most of the time students have to correct him on the mistakes he makes on the bored!!
***AWFUL*** He goes too fast and doesn't have a personal interest in whether or not you succeed. He is quirky and can drive you nuts with his mannerisms. He belittles you after every test and is patronizing. Half of the class DROPPED after the first month...and even more as the course went on.
Awesome teacher. Very thorough. I would highly recommend him.
He doesn't know what the mathmatics is. if you take his class, you should be busy to correct his mistakes in classes, to make sure your all grades are counted by him, and his fast class. Almost all people dropped becouse he did his class fast with many mistakes, and never care about us.
Took him about a yr. ago, always recommend to others. If you want to learn. He does everything to help you. Very down to earth, I LOVE HIM.
he's the best teacher that i've ever had in math. he's very helpful and funny. he knows how to make the class not to be boring. i highly recommend this professor.
Great teacher. I also had him for Math 110. Very clear, thorough and helpful. Knows how to make the class not boring. This class is not hard … I got an “A”.
Never really liked math, but this guy is good.
Excellent Professor. I dreaded taking math classes but he was different. He is funny and is very nice. I'm an average math student and still got a B. Makes you do your homework. Quizzes and Tests are not difficult if you do the homework. I would take him again.
He's an alright teacher. Everyone says he's good because he is easy. Sometimes, his tests don't have what we covered in class. You do learn in this class but at a broad state. He's a good teacher overall and pretty easy to pass.
Mr. Nasab is one of the best Math professor on campus. He is clear on his notes, very funny man too, and he has homework due every week (about 3 sections). His test are multiple choices since he don't want to spend time grading work. He offer extra credit prior to the test to add on top of your test. You can cleary get an easy A or B in his class.
Mr. Nasab was by far one of my fav math teachers. i didn't even have the finite math book, i just borrowed the book from the library or the math lab & passed his class w an A. just pay attention to his lectures & do your homework! & you should soar through his class w/out a problem.
Nasab is an awesome teacher! He really spelled out the subject matter for his students in a fun and understandable way. The class structure was very well planned out. Nasab himself is very encouraging and helpful. Multiple choice tests REALLY helped me pass.
This guy is the greatest! He takes his time teaching and goeses over material if the class needs him to. He does not rush his lectures nor assignments and allows the class to have say so in deadlines. I got a "C" and I hated Statistics. He allows you to use index cards for exams which really helps because of the amount of formulas. I never thought
Took his class for finite math. He is funny, & teaches well. His way of notes aren't sought out very well.
I had taken stats with a diff professor and he sucked. Nasab made it clear (and im a math dummy) amd he was hilarious. He had us do a group projec that was pretty easy. I really liked him!!
He is a nice instructor, the only thing that i do not like about it is that he is not very helpfull sometimes. I had to drop the class because he goes too fast when lecturing and doesnt explain things clearly. I do not recommend him if math is not your best subject. I tried very hard and did all of my homework but still i was not getting it.
I took this class online and it was very easy! Tons of practice problems with step by step information on how to solve problems. Tests are very easy. Seemed nice when I met him on campus but he talks very fast and his explainations can be confusing. Only take him if you are already competent in math, if not he may confuse rather than help you.
Not helpful at ALL! I asked him for help with one of the problems and he said well, if you dont get it. I had to go to my cousin and he explained it better. What he teachs doesn't match the homework or tests. NOT RECOMMENDED!
really rude, not helpfull at all. You can't even ask a question he immediatly cuts you off, a lot of homework and hard tests at the end of the semester he only had 10 students out of 40 left.horrible teacher. online class
I don't know where these last comments come from. Not true! He is a great guy, funny and entertaining. His tests are NOT hard if you attend his lectures and more or less do your homework. No surprises, he even gives practice tests that are very close to the real thing. Very helpful, lets the class out earlier too all the time. RECOMMENDED!!!
Mr. Nasab has no compassion or respect for students with valid learning disabilities. He thinks his position and class at LBCC is more important than the president. Questions are for idiots. Take some one else unless you are really good at math.
His class is too hard. He takes off too many points for small mistakes on exams. The average grade on his 1st test is a D! His tests are HARD. I didn well in Cal 1 and 2 but now I'm hoping to just pass. I wish he didn't grade soo hard (he's really picky). Take somebody else. People are definately starting to complain alot in his class.
I very much regret taking this class with Nasab. I should have waited till next semester to take another professor. Students are not doing well in his class. His tests are hard. You think you will do well and then you do very bad and all i do is study calculus. I have no other class. I did good in 1 and 2 but im doing bad in nasab's class.
hes fantastic. explains things in a clear easy to understand way and mixes humor throughout.
A lot of people have dropped his class. His tests are very hard and he takes too many points off for little mistakes. A lot of people are failing and he will not grade on a curve. He won't go over homework. Take somebody else.
A lot of people have dropped his class. His tests are very hard and he takes too many points off for little mistakes. A lot of people are failing and he will not grade on a curve. He won't go over homework. Take somebody else.
I hate math and the way Mr Nasab teaches it gave me no other choice but to drop his class. He teaches to fast. Like taking summer school in the fall. Does like two examples of a section in a chapter, then goes on to the next section. Then if you ask more than one question about the hw he will say you already had your turn. Hes a nice guy but wow.
He made you feel dumb for asking questions and belittled students who idnt understand his accent. His handwriting on the board was so small, i sat in the front row and still could not read his writing. Worst math teacher i ever had. His sarcastic, no patience attitude made Mr. Nasab the worst experience I've had at LBCC. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Worst teacher I have ever had, hands down. As everyone else has said, he has no compassion for anyone. He's just a selfish prick. Don't take him, I'm sure you'll regret it.
The hardest class you could take at LBCC. He is a good professor, but his text extremely hard. Even though you know how to solve the problem, your chance to get an A is only 50% since he takes off too many point for a little mistake
if you are not major in math,cs,engineering then absolutely don't take him. Pros: go beyond the textbook, help you to prepare for upper division courses, which i like. His test is easy comparing to UCLA test Cons: No extra credit, grading unnecessary hard, don't lecture by the textbook which is hard for most of students to follow.
This teacher is horrible! I hate him now with a passion after attempting to take him twice! He sets himself up on a pedestal and treats students like they are dumb. If you can avoid him, do it! He encouraged people to drop and change their major if the class was too hard for them. Teachers should be encouraging and inspiring, not the opposite!
He writes too many notes that you will not use for exams. He doesnt tell you what to cover for the exams. He lectures are unclear and writes alot of un-important crap. The hard stuff that you DO need to know, he doesnt do it, or is very unclear with no good explantaions. He looks like he tricks and makes the students confused on purpose! Dont take
Got an A. Tough to know whats on test at times. Quizzes, test similar to HW. Do more HW than whats assigned. Gives lots of projects (free pts). Calculus is easy, Lin Alg is hard. Lectures can be all over the place. Big regret, not reading book b4 Lin Alg lectures. "A" students shouldnt have problem passing only getting A. LBCCs tougher instructor.
Says "what" and "are you ready" a lot, very distracting. The material is okay if you pay attention to the lecture. Quizzes are given the class before the exam; only difference between exam and quiz is that the exam haves a few more section more than the quiz. Pretty fast at grading though.
He works way too fast. The most annoying thing is he likes to make you feel dumb. If you ask a question he laughs in your face. Do NOT take him.
Overall a good solid teacher... Explains problems very well.
Very clear.. pay attention and attend class.. and you'll be ok. He gives out study guides and quizes before the test so you're very prepared for what's coming. And he's funny sometimes!
He needs to learn to give a chance to students and not shut down every student's question. When you ask a question and thinks it is way too easy to solve he will be a condescending person and just takes you down the drain. DO NOT TAKE HIM!! His teaching was alright but I bet there are better professors out there.
He's great. Very clear and helpful. I am horrible at math and he made it very easy for me. Only problem is that his first quiz/test was timed did not explain that and the majority of the class failed. We let him know it wasn't fair and he fixed the problem.
Subject is interesting, but Mr. Nasab can sometimes come off as a rude guy. Most people were intimidated by him & wouldn't ask too many questions. He does accept older versions of the textbook. Overall, he's a great teacher
Condescending, elitist, and arrogant. Lectures are all over the place, and skips a lot of steps during sample problems. He is intelligent and knows his math, I'll give him that, but if you want to learn, take someone else.
Difficult teacher. Inconcise with lessons and goes off topic every other minute. At least he's a funny, laid back guy.
He's a good teacher, he does go off topic sometimes, always check you graded quizzes and exams, even if there low, they are not always corrected right. Study and do the homework, I didn't do all the homework and still pass, but I already knew this subject.
I love Math and he makes Math even more enjoyable. He's funny and helpful.
I have no complaints about his teaching. However if you are a student who needs help and compassion DO NOT take him. My dad was murdered in the middle of the semester and he showed me nothing but a disgusting and uncompassionate attitude as well as a lack of help. He was disrespectful. He spoke to me one way, and the dean another. A jerk and a liar
Professor Nasab's lectures are very long and boring, even though he knows his information. Notes are taken everyday so if you miss class you will miss out on new information. He goes kind of fast on lectures. Make sure you do your homework and study for test
He's willing to clarify what you didn't get if you ask. He's a good teacher if you're a fast learner. Iam not, I need multiple examples and less jumping planets. What I mean by this, is, he tends to jump from one lesson to another frequently. Also, he grades like crap. You make one tiny mistake on a question and it ruins your score.
Class is pretty hard. but just do your homework and do the extra credit he gives out and you'll pass even if you get C's on your tests trust me. thats how i passed.
I took his class fall 2015 & i went to tutoring almost every day to try & pass & my grade was still a C- but its hard. I took him again spring 2016 & i withdrawed because hes horrible. He marks off major points for minor mistakes, his tests r super long & hard, hes bipolar at times, he doesnt care about others, he thinks everyone should be smart lik him. He goes way to fast in lecturing. Just cuz some students do good on tests he wrote on my test "dont even take my test if u dont know wat ur doing!! Wat is this nonsense!!" He is most definitely someone who brought me down in succeeding in math.
If you are not good at Math DO NOT take this class. I ignored the reviews and took the risk and had to drop. Avoid a "W" and do not even bother. He will make you feel stupid for asking any question!
This professor was the most terrible professor I've ever taken. I understand math but need extra help, he rushes through teaching as if we already know the subject and complain that we should know it already as an excuse to not slow down. He is a tough grader and does not teach clearly, very lazy when it comes to questions. Please do not take him!!
he is very picky with homework, for example if you get 1 problem wrong he will give your homework an F and not give you any points for your work. On top of that he is very disrespectful with his student, and relies too much on he videos to teach the class, which do not help with the harder problems he gives you.
Took Spring17' Hw is handwritten. He assigns like 30 prob miss 1 & get 0/5, no make up hw/late work; 4 exams, cumalitive final. Replaces lowest exam w/ final grade. His attitude can b rude & dont like how he teaches/explains. Do study guides for 5pts EC. He grades hard takes off points for everything. A Plus his grade scale is 60-79% is a C.
Took him twice on the same subject after I already dropped him once. Terrible mistake. Not charismatic and only wishes to get through his lecture and go home. Math is a very hard subject for me and his lectures made it even harder.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!! It is impossible to get a good grade even if you are good at math, because he wnats things done a certai way and if it isnt done his way he will call you out or not give you any credit at all even if the answer is right. He is rude, and unhelpful. Wont except late work even if you have a good reason. Save yourself!!!
He is honestly a horrible professor. His way or no way at all , even if the answer is correct. He is ridiculous and would always mess up the problem. I can't stand him. I should've dropped when I had the chance but I realized towards the end. There is really no hope with passing in his class. My advice take any other professor. Any.
He's a terrible professor. I have difficulty with math and he expects us to remember how to do everything and uses that as an excuse to not review the material. If you do the homework and miss 1 problem on a section he will give you 1/5 as your grade for that assignment. He is rude and has poor communication skills with his students.
He is super rude. Gives no chances. It is a five hour lecture and he doesn't let us eat. 8am-1pm. DO NOT even think about signing up for this class. right before our. tests he does not review he starts a whole new section in the book and expects us to know everything. Super terrible teacher.
Gives vary few, if any, chances for extra credit and is very uncooperative.
He was a terrible teacher. He teaches you 3 lessons in 1 day and gives you hw on all. For some that may be ok except for the fact that he never fully teaches each lesson he gives you the bare minimum and thinks youre good. Hes also very unorganized, hell miss place your work & ask you to do it over. He also accidentally deleted my classes grades
This teacher was all over the place. He would try to work problems in class then, mess them up and would end up not solving it. Say that he would get back to it but never would. He expects you to know everything that he forgets in class.
With Michael Nasab, there is such a thing as stupid questions. In fact any questions counts. When you ask questions for help, he tells you drop the class and change majors because you should not be an engineer or in any STEM fields so stop wasting your time in life its a wake up call I dropped and switched majors he ruined it and its his fault.
Forget about taking Nasab! Even if everyone elses HW is perfectly right on all problems (work/answer), just 1 student has 1 problem wrong on HW (work & or answer), he gives every students HW turned in that day an F (by giving every students HW a 0 and not giving any points for that homework for any students). Smh at Michael Nasab!!
He will leave you behind if you have questions, won't offer any type of extensions on small missing assignments nor retake or extension on exams. During lecture he will keep rambling on and will not stop for questions, don't take his class if you want to pass.
I took Professor Nasab's class in the fall term but I did hybrid. All of the homework, tests, and quizzes were all through the computer. Tests and quizzes were only able to be done in person. He gives extra credit by doing the study guides. He wasn't a bad professor. Enjoyed his class but I just dont like math.
I took Math50, Precalc with Nasab. He rarely explained things more than once. There was no time for us to work together on our questions. I did not learn anything from his lectures, if I learned anything it was from videos of another professor. Even then, nothing translated and I still did not pass even after studying so hard.
I took Math50 with Professor Nasab this spring. He's a very tough grader and minus your score a lot even if you make a little mistake. Lots and lots of homework and his explanation was not very clear but he do give 5 points extra credit when you do the study guide.
He goes through subjects very quickly and doesn't explain in detail how to do problems. He'll do one example problem, then move on to the next section. On exam days, we do a very short review. Continues doing a subject thats completly unrelated to what on the exam, then will give us the exam at the last half of the class. Do not recommmend.
The workload is unlike anything I've ever seen. Without exaggeration, expect to spend at least 20 hours per week over the course of this class. The amount of homework was truly absurd. Expect to answer thousands of questions. This was an entry-level course at a community college, but the workload was more than four classes combined.
This teacher is difficult
Professor Nasab has a tough grading style, with lots of homework that can be tricky. Lectures aren't the clearest, but the 5 point extra credit on study guides helps. unstuck AI was a lifesaver for review prep.
I was told I didn't attend, even though I did and watched all the Zoom recordings. The lectures were slow and hard to follow live, so I took time to rewatch and learn. I paid for ALEKS and tuition, but still got dropped. It hurt my GPA. No support, zero communication, and the professor is rude. I regret taking this class. Wasted my time and money.
Very rude and condescending,lf you want someone to be rude to you, take your money and drop you from an asynchronous class for not attending his boring lecture, then you can enroll for this class. Before I took this class the details showed " no real time class " but don't believe it
Absolutely horrible, unless want someone who gaslights you constantly and forgets half of his lectures do not take his courses. He constantly forgot when he pushed assignments back and gave students zeros for “late work” his handwriting is so bad you spend half the class trying to figure it out what he's writing and don't learn anything.
Do NOT take as a dual enrollment class! Professor does not answer his emails at all. If you're a senior and are taking this class in the spring, my advice is to not take it. It'll hurt you in the end because he doesn't post your transcript right away which could cause your ability to walk for graduation.
This is by far the worst professor I've had. His lectures are very fast paced as if we understand instantly as his pen touches his paper, and his handwriting is bad. He sometimes doesn't even follow his syllabus and only gives you an hour for a 18 question EXAM. He's can't even grade well, you have to correct him. ur better off with jon kim.
