Dr. Ohanian respects his students very much and this is how he gets repect from them. He is very dedicated to his teaching and is brilliant in the way he explains math. Highly recommended.

Went to a math seminar today Nov 28, 2007. It was a review for a final exam.Ohanian gave the lecture.Never in my life have I ever heard such a clear explanation of math topics. You would need to stick your fingers in your ears not to understand him. He is amazing.

I've never taken his class, but he used to tutor me in Calculus in high school. He is a very nice, helpful teacher. He moves at a slow rate, is thorough with his teaching, and takes pride in what he does. If you go to class and do homework there is no reason why anyone would not do well in his class.

Mr. Ohanian is a hard teacher. That is because he is a teacher who doesn't just try passing everyone, even if a person doesn't deserve it. If you don't study, and try hard you will probably fail. I barely just passed the classed and it was a wake up call to me to try harder in future classes and to stop slacking. He seems to love his job.

His lectures are fast paced!!! Don't miss a day of class or get behind on homework, or you will get overwhelmed. Tests are short,and he does curve. He gives you handouts explaining everything that may seem difficult ( like absolute value, graphing, etc) things that may trip up a student. He gives a review at least a week before every exam and then reviews any questions you may have the class before your exam. Though you dont use a calculator you dont need one really. Just do your homework

His tests are handwritten, and only 10 questions long and fill in the blank. He does not drop any tests. The test questions are nothing like the "examples" given in the book. He doesn't allow the usage of calculators and he only grades strictly on the tests and he offers no extra credit.

I took Professor Ohanian for pre algebra and int. algebra. I was so dissapointed to hear he didn't teach college algebra. He is the BEST math teacher I have ever had. Amazing teacher and person. His teaching style is so easy to understand but you must do your homework. I have reccomended him to everyone I know that goes to Broward College and FAU.

He is extremely helpful. He won't continue on to the next section without making sure that all his students understand the material. He is also really nice and his tests are not that hard just do the review he gives you and do your hw and practice.

He cares so much about his students which can be a bit weird at times because it really bothers him when you don't show up. Just SHOW UP! All you literally have to do is study and you WILL PASS!!!

Professor Ohanian is a great teacher. He loves math and explains the bigger picture of what's going on. He is also very kind with his exams, giving problems that are not tricky. You HAVE to do the homework and the review. He gives you all the tools you need to succeed you just have to put in the time and effort.

I took this class with him over the summer. It was one of my first classes I took when i started at BC. It was no joke for me. The tests were hard, they're written BUT you must attend the class and pay attention to his reviews. He goes fast in the summer but make sure to ask questions.

I loved this class! Mr. Ohanian is great at explaining every detail you need to know for each section, never misses a step, and he knows shortcuts and simple ways to make a seemingly difficult problem into a piece of cake! You must do your homework and come every single class. He teaches something valuable and important EVERY day!

Excellent teacher! Goofy older guy who makes goofy math teacher jokes. Very endearing. You MUST HAVE PERFECT ATTENDANCE and you MUST STUDY. He tried to be helpful, but yes, he did get cranky off and on when people "didn't pay attention." He and I had a good relationship because I studied hard and was never absent. Otherwise good luck!

He cares. He REALLY cares. He cares about attendance, he cares about you being on the phone. He cares about attention. You HAVE to work hard for your grade. It's not easy. Do your homework. Funny. Tests aren't multiple choice, 10 questions. 40% of your grade is the final. He looks at you like you have 3 eyes when you ask questions.

Awesome teacher!! Class was easy as long as you payed attention and showed up took him in the summer for a 6 week course and did great only reason i got a C was because I missed one test and did study enough for the final but besides that he will realy help you if you need it funny as well he makes math enjoyable and comprehend able

This professor was great! He was always very clear and genuinely cared about his students. He is very dedicated to his job and will always help you out if need it. I failed mat0028 three times but with him I passed with a B. His tests are everything he teaches and will be very easy if you do your hmwrk and practice.

He make u understand math real good even though I failed his class I came out knowing math I had took the class again and pass with another professor... Ohanian is a tough grader no sympathy no homework he doesn't drop the lowest grade

Dr. Ohanian is a wonderful professor, he cares a lot about his students and you can really see that if you go to his office or see him in the math lab. All the negative comments are probably from people who didn't do the homework.. DO THE HOMEWORK! If you do, you will be fine. If you don't understand homework, ask for help. Hate math, but loved him

Best math professor bar none. He's kind of goofy, but in a good way! His awesome handouts on new concepts and crystal clear explanations make math accessible to everyone. Whoever says that his class, for me is hard to believe because for a math professor he is by far the best I've had. He really cares about his students and if you don't pass it's probably because you slacked. I gurantee it will be an easy A if you at least try. He is very nice and dedicated so I extremely recommend him.

All honesty, this class is hard. Your grade depends purely on the test he gives you. He only gives 4-5 tests, each one has about 10-12 questions, they are free answers. But the final isn't. He doesn't drop the lowest test grade. He is a GREAT guy and professor, its just if you're not a good test taker. Do not take this class.

He is an amazing professor. It's just that his tests are very challenging because they are not reflective of that on the review questions in the textbook that he tells us to do. Moreover, he barely gives partial credit for a problem, even if you get 99% of the work correct. However, he is great at explaining math. He is just a difficult professor.

I never understood math so clearly until I took him. He's like a genius and has all these cool short cuts that make it easier for you to remember. He's very caring and helpful. it bothers him when your late or don't do your homework because he really wants everyone to do well. His tests aren't that easy but if you study you will do fine.

LOVED HIM. He gives you the most helpful little tips you can use in everyday math problems and he can also crack a (lame) joke here and there which is still always funny for some reason. Very caring and reliable. Loveeeed.

Fantastic Professor. Understands that math is hard for students to understand at times. Does an excellent job teaching. He wants all his students to do well and has a group meeting on Wednesdays to help those needing extra practice. (Does it on his time off) His tests are legit tough. But if you are willing to work and learn, you will get an A.

He is an amazing teacher and pretty funny as well. I liked his style of teaching and he only has 4-5 tests throughout the whole semester but gives study guides before. You will have to do homework if you want to keep up with how he teaches. If your not a good test taker I would not recommend but otherwise he is great.

He's an amazing professor BUT tough grader. DO NOT! I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE HIM if you're a bad test taker. DO NOT SKIP CLASS. You wont pass if you miss a day. Make sure you do the homework even though he doesn't grade it. The class consist of 3 test & a final that's worth 40% of your grade. Such a bad grading scale.

Great teacher, teaches short cuts which are very helpful. Makes class fun with sarcastic sense of humor. Walk in late, he will make fun of you which I love! Only grades tests so its important to show up to every class and take clear notes. He will answer your questions, just don't take it personal when he looks at you funny for asking. Don't slack!

The only bad thing, which is all about perspective, is his grading style.. He doesn't mark for showing working so if you get the final answer wrong (even if your working is correct) then you lose 7 WHOLE marks depending on the number of questions... I mean it teaches you to be extra diligent but when it comes to your grade it messes with your life

Me again... I wish I had taken him for college algebra and I wish he taught calculus here because he literally is THE best math teacher I have ever had... He not only knows what he is talking about but ENJOYS speaking about it.. He makes me want to lecture in math just so I can emulate his teaching style. THE BEST TEACHER EVER. and he is HILARIOUS.

I don't understand why some people are saying he's rude. He's one of the nicest teachers I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students. Great prof, very clear on his lectures, i failed this class 3 times and he literally helped me save my college career. Go to class and take good notes, hw is optional but do it and you will ace the test, gives reviews for exams. I did a group study and I really enjoyed the class. Pay attention, he doesn't like when your late and then ask questions.

Great at teaching the material, but not so great when it comes to reitterating something. If you dont understand it the first time, you WILL be embarrassed by him for asking it again. Hard to ask him questions without him making you seem like an idiot. I would suggest asking him questions privately.

Professor Ohanian is great! His tests are super easy because he gives hints throughout the semester on what he ll be testing you on! As long as you dont skip class and do all the homework, theres no reason to not get an A in his class. He is super funny and makes the class fun to go to. I highly recommend taking him ;)

If math is not your favorite subject, prof. Ohanian makes you understand and answers all questions. On his free time he used to give quick lessons at the library VERY HELPFUL!!

Probably one of the most knowledgeable teachers I've had to date. The only issue is that his "test reviews" do not cover everything you need for the test, so don't depend on them.

Great professor! Be aware that your grade is based only on tests (he does give 30-45 min extra credit lectures outside class too). He explains everything thoroughly & very easy to understand. Math isn't my best subject, but I ended the class with an A. Pay attention in class and take lots of notes!! Homework is optional.

I have always been good at math but the way his lectures are is very good. He explains everything to clear and if there is someone that doesn't understand he makes sure he goes back and explains it again. He likes to see that his students understand the material and makes sure they pass. Would take him again.

He's a easy going guy like to give jokes. He give a lot of extra credit work. If a student does not understand he goes back and explains from the beginning. e wants to see you pass the course so he does anything to help you can go and also get help with work on days when there is no class just let him know.

Best math professor! I recommend him and I am taking him again. He helps his students and doesn't stop until every student understands. Do not miss class. Tests are almost every week but he does a great review the class before.

I'm coming to the end of my semester with Professor Ohanian and it has been a blast. He makes learning the curriculum easy. He will do experiments for practical applications in class to help demonstrate how math associates to the real world. He will also help anyone who asks for it, in class or after class. I would definitely recommend!!

This is the guy to take. He gives out "ohandouts" that really help with the lessons. If you need help, go to his office hours. He really does care about his students, but you as a student have to put in the effort as well! I do not think he is condescending when I ask questions. He has a dry sense of humor that puts you at ease.

Possibly one of the most amazing Professors I'll ever have. Builds such an amazing foundation. If your note taking is on point passing is easy. HW not mandatory but the practice is great to have. Teaches you more than what the books teach you and faster ways to find answers. Taking him again for Pre-Cal. Awesome at breaking everything down.

lectures the whole class & hardly lets you out early. But he doesn't read from a power point like most professors. his lectures consist of doing various problems till you understand the topic. Review is not exactly like the test. he's very kind and funny.

Great math professor! Corky. Super clear and thorough lectures. Must take notes and do hw. If you don't do the textbook hw the material won't stick. Study! Grade is based on 4 tests (3 & a final). Fair grader, gives partial cred. Worst grade gets replaced. Gives "math talks"; each 1 you go to is 2 pts of extra credit, potientally 22 pts. Take him!

By far the best math teacher I've ever had. He has special ways to do things that other teachers don't really show you. He is very thorough with his lectures and makes sure you understand. There is only 3 tests and a final, but if you do the reviews he gives you, you're all good. I would definitely take him again.

He's great, so fair, a mega sweet heart. The people that were saying he was rude I don't understand AT all. He tries to make sure everyone leaves understanding and laughing. He is an AWESOME Math Professor! I always hated math and never comprehended well, or had a teacher that took their time to make sure I get the concepts. Professor O cares and makes sure you get it! Professor Ohanian is the BEST MATH teacher! He is so patient and TRULY cares if you don't understand something. He takes his time. He wants you to learn and understand math. Great professor. His lectures are clear and concise and what he says is on the test, is actually on the test. Homework isn't mandatory but it's a good choice to do it for practice. He replaces the lowest test grade with the final and offers extra credit. I would take him again for sure.

Homework is not mandatory, but I would try them because they help for the test. Does give a review but those questions are from the homework. He gives 3 test and final is cummalitive. He does do extra credit, 2 points for every math talk you go to. Tests aren't hard but DO THE HOMEWORK.

He's really nice and teaches very well. He makes math look simple and easy to understand. The big downside to this class were the tests. They were hand-written and most of the problems were a lot more difficult than what he taught in class.

i had a great time in professor ohanian class i thought he was such a cute funny old man. his explanations were easy and he gives you extra credit . i was doing well in the class i had a 87 and and fail the final and my grade dropped to a D because the final was 40% of the grade . In the pre-calculus there were 3 test and the final. No homework

Very good Professor. He knows what he's doing and has great teaching methods. Online Aleks, about 3 Test and a Final, thats it. He give out a review about a week before each test and goes over it with you the day before the test. Very similar to what is on the test.I didn't like Math before him and he made it easy to understand and very enjoyable.

Great teacher. No need to buy book, just visit the math center and do hw and you'll be fine. 3 tests and a final that replaces lowest grade. Professor teaches the material well and always ask if anyone has any questions.

I have never had someone teach things so clearly. He is like a math wizard. He has so many shortcuts to things you have been previously taught and makes them so much easier. You will wind up hating all your past math teachers for teaching you so hard. I cannot say how amazing this professor is. 4 tests and final can replace lowest test score.

Only graded materials are the 4 tests he gives and they're only about 10-12 questions each. He is very clear when he lectures and answers any questions you may have. It's math so you do have to study but if you do the homework you will pass. He goes over the homework in class. Straightforward, funny, and makes everything clear.

This was probably one of the best math professors I have ever had. He has tricks and shortcuts that he came up with himself to simplify many lessons. He really cares about his students and them passing his class. His test reviews and tests are very straight forward as long as you come to class. The tests are exactly like the reviews.

coolest professor EVER. he has the best tricks and shortcuts that are so useful. hes really kind and understanding and willing to explain anything at length. do the hw and test reviews and its a breeze. no calculators on the tests though, but dont worry they are so easy you wont even need one honestly. 10/10 would take him again

He's a really good teacher, there's alot of homework but they help prepare you for the tests. Plus, after every homework assignment he goes over them and makes sure you understand. He's tells funny dad jokes to lighten up yhe room of the class, I would honestly take him again.

I SUCK at math. Like, so bad. I was petrified going into this class, but Prof. O provided so much extra credit, and explained things so well, I was able to pass. He's amazing. Do your part, go to class, study for the tests. You'll be fine :) and homework was optional!

Just completed a long semester with this Professor. He's a 10/10. I was terrible at math, and hadn't practiced it in years. He made it as if I never stopped and even provides so many cool shortcuts and tricks. Where was he when I was in middle school?! Homework not mandatory, but do it. He gives great study guide for the exam. A+ preparation!

Math is not the easiest class for me but thanks to Dr. Ohanian my summer pre-cal was a breeze. He is so caring and makes sure everyone is understanding the material. He also gives tons of help through cheat sheets and is extremely reasonable with grading. I WOULD TAKE THIS CLASS AGAIN FOR SURE ! I recommend him for anyone who struggles with math :)

Michael ohanian genuinely cares if you understand the topic or not. He does go through the lessons quick but you can always raise your hand and ask a question. Assigns HW but doesnt grade it because he knows if you dont have the disciple to do the HW you will not receive a good test grade. Has only 4 grades which are the 4 tests. Super funny guy.

Do not miss class. If i didnt miss class i probably would've had a B in the class. He is ok, very monotone lectures that is based of the optional hw so do them. His tests are fairly easy but one of them may get you hard. Pay attention. I would take him again, but if there are other professors available and better i would look at them at well.

Took this class online from June-August Do not buy that text book ( if your going to just get your answers for the quizzes offline ) because the book is for homework ( that dont get graded ) and gives . There are only quizzes no test .. quizzes ( about 7 or 8 ) are like 3-4 questions long .. hes not a bad professor got a B .
