Very pleasant. You do have to know your notes well as the tests are multiple choice and difficult. If you study and understand material you can get an A. He will help you if you ask. Yes, a lot of notes but he makes it interesting. Learn your notes.

anyone who say's mike is a bad teacher just doesn't know quality teaching. He cares about his students and the subject matter of the class. Yes there is work to be done but get over it we're in COLLEGE!

lots of notes and four tests that aren't the easiest in the world, but the notes he gives you are very good and if you read through them the tests will be easy. Don't buy a book you will never need it because of the notes.

I didnt study for the tests. I basically just listened to him in class and took notes. The lowest test score i got was a 72. Not too bad for just going to class. Although i almost fell asleep a few times. I'm not sure about this class i had a pretty good bio class in high school. this class was just a refresher for me. I found him amusing at times. He reminds me of Jeff Goldbloom. I would recomend reading the chapters and doing your own outlines as well as taking notes from class to get b's or better

he helped me a lot and he made it as easy as possible you can pass just study the notes he gives it is all on the tests and come to class. he was a great teacher but boring sometimes

He gives lots of notes, so detailed that you don't even need to buy the book. I never touched the book only studying the notes and have an A+ in this class; He stays after classes as long as you need explaing whatever you didn't understand! BEST TEACHER EVER!

You dont need to buy the book, just take his LONG notes and come to class. His notes are whats on the tests, dont follow the book because he skips around and its not the same as his notes. You take 4 tests, its a pretty easy class. Act like your interested and he will like you.

His first impression is not good. Ok Ok so he mumbles and doesn't complete sentences. Overall, he gives you all the tools to pass and is a genuinely nice man. Come to class, take notes (DO NOT NEED THE BOOK) and you will succeed.

Mike uses old school lecturing by writing on a projector to the class. It is a very boring method, but his tests are all from his notes. You will write about three pages of notes each class. If you are into biology, then take someone else who is more excited. If you want an easy "A" take Petrovich.

I MISS THIS CLASS.You DO take a lot of notes, BUT its useful when studying for tests.Good discussions.Knows what he is talking about, UNLIKE some people who make p**p up. This is NOT a hard class he goes over the material thoroughly. I highly recommend this class. Take notes, Do only 1 paper (plenty of time to do), study material and take 2 tests.

Mike is a rather interesting teacher. Everyone *including my gf* keeps saying how horrible a teacher he is, but for his class as long as your a good test taker you can get an easy A. Straight from the lecture notes, though you will take about 3 pages or more per class he is still an interesting teacher.

He's awesome. I don't understand why some ppl here is complaining, I mean, we're in COLLEGE!!! Get over it! All you have to do is take notes, pay attention to class and pretend you like the subject. Study from your notes. I find his classes quite interesting, he posses a lot of knowledge.

Really awesome teacher, i got a A, did all the homework and got Cs on tests, i aced the papers and i did his extra credit. He dose not like people leaving for the bathroom or people coming in late. He makes the subject really fun. Take lots of notes! you will be writing alot, participate in his class. He makes you present articles you find. FUN

YOU CAN PASS THIS CLASS IF YOU GO TO CLASS..HE TEACHES FROM THE SAME NOTES HE USES EVERY SEMESTER.....(OVERHEAD)..HE IS SMART BUT OUTDATED.....

Both his class and the material he presents are very straightforward. Lots of notes but that's it. Test are based entirely on the notes and as such you do NOT need to purchase the textbook. Overall interesting teacher. Nice guy and very knowledgeable about the topic. Easy A if you come to class and are decent at taking tests.

Easiest teacher ever for a bio class. I had him for environmental and the only thing he talked about the entired time was gas prices. His tests are right from his notes and his class is a breeze. TAKE HIM!!!

This class was not easy, but he is a good teacher. He is always willing to help and explain. Studying is required for this class, but he is def one of the best!

If you thought this class was difficult, you probably have the iq of an ant. EASIEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN. Hands down. Test material is only from his notes, you don't need to read the book at all. If you need extra help, he's always willing to stay after for clarification. He's very cool and extremely passionate about the subject. HIGHLY RECOMENDE

Michael is a very wonderful professor. He's passionate about the subject and very helpful. His class is mainly taking notes but his test are from the notes too, just reworded. You just have to study. Also he's pretty hot.

He is passionate about his teaching. Makes things really easy to understand, but you have to pay attention. He doesn't give homework, but that means your whole grade is on testing. You have to actually know the material for the test, not just memorize because everything is reworded. Great teacher you just can't get lazy with studying

no facades with this guy. i ran into him outside of school somewhere, and he was exactly the same as he was in class. good teacher, 90% of test material comes from notes, so if you miss a day you better get them from someone. and DONT MISS A TEST BC HE WILL NOT LET YOU MAKE IT UP!!! other than that, not too bad. i could have easily done better.

I must say that this class was my absolute favorite college course I have taken thus far. He makes Biology incredibly interesting and allows the time for discussions and questions. JUST STUDY THOSE NOTES! Everything on the test comes right from the notes. I would most certainly take one of his classes again!!

I had no interest in the subject really until I took his class. Now I'm thinking of switching majors. He is AWESOME and makes the class/discussions SO interesting! Very knowledgeable about many areas and overall great prof. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Study hard on notes from PP and try not to miss class. Pretty easy on the eyes too once you hear him :-)

Mr. Petrovich is one the best teachers on campus. He is an excellent lecturer, he keeps it interesting. There is no extra credit, but you shouldn't need it. As long as you attend class, take the notes and read the chapters, there is no reason you shouldn't pass with an A or B. He knows his stuff and is available for extra help if you just ask.

THIS IS THE SCIENCE CLASS TO TAKE!!!!there's a book but it'll neva be used..just take and study the notes..there's 5 tests 1 dropped and the remaining 4 will be averaged..he's a reallllllly good teacher..

Bombed the first two tests and then was told that I just needed to study his notes. The book has more information that useful and ended up giving me more things I didnt need to know and wound up confusing me. Got out with at least a B. Excellent teacher. As long as you attend class, take the notes, and make an effort to understand the information, you'll do fine. Don't take this professor if you're just after an easy A. Take this class to learn.

If you love to learn, this is the class for you! Petrovich does not teach out of the textbook...gives you clear notes and teaches you important facts that you can utilize in real life (like how to identify FL venemous snakes) Only 4 tests make up your grade and the tests are hard, but if you attend class, take notes, and study you will do fine!

Really cool guy but in the summer of 2004 I got a D in his class. To this day I am upset that I have that D on my transcript. The mult choice questions were frustratingly ambiguous. That 6wk summer class generated the most notes of any class of my college career and my degree is in electrical engineering.

Easy class. Attendance is mandatory. You take tons of notes every class, the entire class. If you type fast, bring a laptop for notes. He waits until everyone is done writing, so it's not necessary. The book is not necessary at all. The tests are solely off the notes. The book is just there to help you understand. Super nice guy.

Petrovich is good. You will need to take notes all class, every class. Don't miss. Tests are from his lectures, but you should make sure you understand the material. Five tests, including the final, and one is a drop...grading is simple. Nice guy, and willing to help you understand after class. I didn't read the book at all. Pay attention.

This teacher is very nice. You don't really need the book. Take all the notes & study them along with Youtube videos going more into detail and you'll be fine. Flash cards for the win. I was very intimidated of this course but i worked hard/studied and got a B. Its a "easy" class if you put in the work -- its college so no easy A's!

This class is NOT easy, but Petrovich is a super nice instructor who is always willing to help if you have any questions. His two most spoken lines are "know your notes" and "read the questions carefully". Theres no class work, just 5 tests, and he lets you drop one of them. I definitely recommend him if you're willing to work hard. He's amazing ?

Attend every class and take notes and then REDO THEM when you get home. It will really really help you remember the material and prepare for the tests. This advice came directly from Mr. Petrovich and I got a B "without" having to take the final. 5 Tests, drop lowest.

Show up and take notes everyday, and review them everyday after class. Mr. Petrovich does not review material in class and will even start new material from the next chapter before the test, which gets pretty confusing. He makes sure to tell you what will be on the test while doing notes, so checkmark things he says will be on the test.

I loved him! Normally in any science class, I'm a goner. But he was very clear in his lectures and told stories that made me remember what he was talking about. I got an A. All of his tests are based off of the notes right out of his lecture. Just make sure you pay attention!

Pretty good teacher overall. He went off topic a lot about his vacations or just random stuff he read about online. If someone asked a question about something we were learning about not on the power point I felt as if he got flustered and did not know how to answer. Only used textbook for hw.

The ONLY grades you will have is the homework, quizzes, and exams. If you do bad on two things, you're grade suffers. Me, along with other very smart people in class finished with a C/D. Not even real Bio and it was just as hard.

I took petrovich for concepts of bio and got an A, didn't have to take the final. I honestly could say he's been one of my favourite professors so far, he's hilarious but when it comes to bio he gets down to business. If you have questions he will help you out and clarify the concepts. Would take him again if he taught gen bio I !

Teacher is very nice and understanding. His tests however are fairly difficult, I would nit recommend if you aren't fond of studying. Definitely do not skip you will want the notes. But the teacher himself is a pretty chill guy, can be fun at times. Biggest issue for me is he does not post your grades, and so you have to keep track of them yourself

Ultimately, this teacher is good. He teaches well, throws in some comedic relief, and cares for his students. The cons come in with the work, the tests aren't exactly fair especially since their is no study guide, but studying the notes and book thoroughly should be enough for anyone. In addition, he does not display your grades so that sucks.

Loved Mr. Petrovich, He wasn't a difficult professor but he wasn't the easiest either. He lets you know whenever you have lecture quizzes, but doesn't give them back to you. He puts your quiz grade along side you test grades. He also doesn't use Canvas, or anything like that so if you have any questions about your grade you can always go up and ask

He is a good teacher, you definitely need to pay attention and study a lot because the test are hard. If you miss class a lot dont take this class because you need the notes. If you study the notes you will pass. He explains the PowerPoints well

This class can be easy if u go and pay attention he is very clear with his teaching and his notes are wonderful. I enjoyed this class and learned a lot he is easy if you do your part love this professor

pretty cool guy, i got a C but its only because i didnt really go to class (9:30 is so early). tests/quizzes are easy, based on lectures on class, not the book.

He is patient and waits for most if not all students to finish writing the notes. He is logical, easy to follow, well informed about what he is teaching- and he enjoys doing it. He is willing to discuss after class and has clear grading criteria well as few homework assignments easy to get an A on. If I could, I'd take him for every science class.

I don't understand the negative reviews. I thought he was a good professor and if you studied then the tests were actually really easy. He was professional and kind and helped students as much as he could.

I hated Biology in high school, I hated it so bad that the first time I took it in college I tanked it. Then I got him. He had very specific grading rules and you can calculate out exactly what you need to do to get the grade you want. He lectures so well you can really tell he know the material. I wish he taught other science classes as well
