The best teacher on campus by far. He actually keeps you awake for the entire class, tests are easy and his grading system is too fair. You would have to be completely deaf, dumb, and blind not to do well in this class.

hes a cool guy, especially when it comes to helping you out with your group commercial for your presentation. the presentation is really important! if your group gets voted as the best, then you get a 100 on your final automatically!

Hes SUPER funny and chill. He gets on his cell phone and leaves class to buy coke. Its not too easy though. You will have a great time in the class, but it does require studying.

He teaches straight from the book - read the chapters and you'll have a good grade - take 10 quizzes but he only counts your 8 best - 3 tests but only counts the 2 best - tests are WORD FOR WORD quiz questions - go to his office hours and study the quizze

He made this class enjoyable.I learned a good deal of info, but at the same time I didn't struggle too much or stress out about the material.You still have some group projects, but they aren' too bad as long as you put in some effort.The only difficult thing was the first test.

Pretty decent class...takes attendance sometimes but it doesn't count against you...go to class however, he gives answers to quiz questions that only people who show up for class will know...and don't fall asleep during his lectures

Mr. Quinn is a great teacher. Gives LOTS of EC. Works with you if you need help. His tests come directly from the powerpoints. There is also some class material. PAY ATTENTION TO STOCK MARKET PERFORMANCE!!!!!!

He's not a bad teacher, but if you don't go to class (like me), then you're going to miss a lot of questions on quizzes because he says some information specifically in class. You also really have to memorize what's going on with the stock market. My recommendation is to always go to his class.

He is very chatty. If you actually want to learn about business this is the class for you. He likes to give pop quizzes and they are not that hard. Read before class and pay attention to his example in class. He likes to use those in his tests. His projects are graded by his assistants and have rather rude comments. He is ok.

Quinn is the man. His class was fun and interesting with some extra credit on the side as well. Tests are not bad. However, watch out on graded projects. His grad assistants grade them and not very well either, they are very picky. Overall, take him, he's good.

Mr. Quinn is a great guy and has a great class. A word to the kids who didn't like the class, you're in college now, classes require work, get used to it. This class is somewhat demanding, but if you put in a little time, you'll be fine. Be sure to study for the tests and read the chapters. He's fun, but don't sleep in his class. Final is curved

Mr. Quinn was a great teacher and a very easy going guy. Make sure you read the book and understand what is it in, because you need to read to get a good grade on the test; they don't come from the powerpoints. The group work is a pain (my group was horrible), but I believe you have that in all GBUS classes. It requires some work, but not too much.

The class was tedious. Quinn is a funny guy, but has a slight attitude. Catch him on a bad day with a question that he doesn't like and he'll take you out by the knees. Tests were difficult so lots of studying is required.

MQ is such a nice guy. he looks like a little leprochaun. he is so into business it makes learning from him interesting. He lets you leave early almost every class and he cancels class a lot. the tests are pretty chill and he almost ALWAYS adds points to your score because he throws questions out.

Professor Quinn may seem intimidating at first but he's alright. You will have many quizzes throughout the semester (10 q's mult. choice) They should help your grade. A key for this class is to read the book. The book is essential to this class so do the reading. Pretty funny in class and he often lets class out 10-20 minutes early. good class

Quinn is the man. He is a funny guy and a good teacher. You actually learn a lot in this class. People say he makes it hard but thats only because they did not make an effort or are just stupid. If you cannot get at least a B in this class, consider yourself a complete idiot. Would take him again in a second.

Quinn is the man. Had him last semester. the class is only as long as it needs to be, you get out early a lot. Tests are easy if you have common sense and he curves very fairly. this guy is a mess. in the begining of the year he used the phrase "wind up" 94 times in one class. yes, it drove me crazy enough that i had to keep count. don't expect to slack off in his class. i wanted to punch him throughout the entire semester for the amount of difficulty in this gened but he does curve, and i ended up with a B.

this guys tests are impossible and he gives a ton of work that none of the other gbus teachers give. a lot of it is a waste of time cuz ppl fail the projects and he just has to curve them. gives pop quizzes every week. had 2 in one class once. you get the idea. he teaches like he's a high school teacher. i walked out with an A but it wasn't easy

I would def take Quinn if you're considering taking gbus160. He's a really good teacher and you will learn a ridiculous amount. you will have to work for your grade however the hard work will be reflected in your overall enhanced knowledge. He has some quirks about him but is a really good teacher overall. TAKE HIM!

Not a bad guy, makes the class interesting and you learn it because he makes the class almost integrated with participation. He curves a lot of the tests, so there's plenty of oppurtunity to pull a B out of it. Consider him, but if you get him, he's a good guy to have.

Quinn is a nice guy. I'm not a fan of business, but he is willing to work with you and curves just about every test - throwing out questions that everyone did badly on. It sometimes gets pretty annoying as to the obsessive amount of times he uses the phrase "wind up" - but it keeps class interesting - last week we counted 207 times in one class!

Keeps class interesting. Pop quizzes, but they are easy. Keep up with the reading and pay attention in class and you should get an easy A. Not a BS class. Attendance is strongly encouraged because if you miss a class that had a quiz that day you couldn't make it up. Takes 5 out of 7 highest quizzes and 3 out of 4 tests.

Nice guy who wants to help his students. Not the easiest class but not too bad. Lots of pop quizes, 2 Chapter tests, 2 huge projects, and a final.He offers some extracredit. Although attendance is not required, if you miss a quiz or xtra credit day, your out of luck. Bonus is Quinn is a pretty sexy guy. I was constantly undressing him with my eyes!

his tests are hard. you have to think critically about everything discussed. he is approachable though and i recommend going to his office hours. he is willing to help. he grades fair.

Quinn is a nice guy. He tries to engage the class, which is rough bc of the multitude of students. There are four tests and seven quizzes in the class, but he drops the lowest test and the two lowest quizzes. It's not that bad. Like any course just study, and come to class and you'll be fine.

Great Professor. He does a great job at explaining material, and keeps class fun by starting class discussions on the material. Grades consist of four tests and 7 quizes, along with some extra credit. Great GenEd course that you learn a lot from. He is a must take, he is fun and interesting. Easy B.

He's a decent guy. Arrogant and rude sometimes, but decent. 7 quizzes and 4 (or 3 depending on your grade) determine your grade. Two projects but they aren't that bad as long as your numbers are right. Gives lots of points back on tests and gives extra credit. Tests can be very difficult, especially the final, but not too hard to pull a B-/B.

This is a good class. Your grade comprises of 4 tests and he only counts highest 3, 7 quizzes and he takes the highest 5. If you read the book work thoroughly on the projects this class is an easy A. Class is pretty straightforward uses a lot of real world examples. Would recommend.

He can definitely be a real **** but besides that his class is pretty easy if you dont get too behind. Dont worry too much about using the book; he puts all the slides online and gets most test material from them. I would recommend this class if you want a fairly easy A.

Quizzes are unannounced and can be pretty difficult but two of the tests are open notes. Gives ALOT of extra credit. Kind of a jerk but class is very easy to get an A or B+ in. Recommend him if you can stand his personality.

Don?t talk, Don?t come late, Don?t slouch, Don?t sleep, Never stop paying attention, read all the assignments thoroughly, and be ready for a quiz every class, if you can do all of these flawlessly this class is perfect for you. He?s an odd man who is full of it, but his class is easy to get a good grade in and he gives a ton of extra credit.

ugh. I'm so relieved this class is over. I managed to barely pull off an A, barely. And I worked really hard. He doesn't give an enormous amount of homework but you'll be sure to have some every day and a quiz which is pretty hard sometimes. Mr. Quinn can be pretty bipolar, but he tries to be fair.

Quizzes every day, but if you do the reading every night you should be okay. Some quiz and test questions are unfair, but they don't count for too much and if make sure you go to every class he gives extra credit which boosts your grade a whole lot. This class was a lot of work but an A or A- is definitely possible if you put in the time/effort.

Gives quizzes every day. I did really bad on the first few quizzes and then I went to see him. He gave me a few pointers and I finsihed the class with an A and didn't have to take the final. The stock test and extra credits really helped my grade. I was a SMAD major, but I switched to business after this class.

I can't believe all the crying bc this was such an easy class. He drops 6 quizzes, two of the tests are open notes and you are exempt from the final if you have an A or A-. He also gives a ton of easy extra credit assignments. I would highly recommend this class.

Must have good attitude about class, sit in front. Takes class w/ a friend and u guys can help eachother on quizzes and take the online test together. Totally possible to get an !. Go to class so you can get a buttload of extra credit

Extremely hard for a GenEd. 2 online tests were on long projects on restaurants companies and thier stocks. Quiz every class hurt grade, but Extra Credit really helps. I had over 4000 in EC and didn't have to take final with an A-. An A is almost impossible.

First of all if you dont get at least a B in this guys class you are beyond dumb. Quinn is one of the nicest and coolest and proffessors at JMU. He is so funny and makes class worth attending. He is extremely nice. All you have to do is talk to him and get to know him. I am a senior and he is by far the best proffessor I had at JMU.

Read ~10 pages every night and have a quiz on the material every day. total of 46 quizzes. drops the lowest 6 which counts as his attendance policy. 2 tests that arnt bad if u do the research for them. exempt from final if you have an A-. if you go to every class and do all the work there is no way to get lower than an A-. he is a jerk though :/

I don't understand why everyone is bashing him..yes, it's a harder class, but I learned a LOT to things that will be useful to me later in life. It is what i expected a college class to be like. He gives quizzes every class, but they will help your grade in the end. This semester he is dropping 5 of our quizzes and one test. I have an A, take it!

Quinn makes it VERY easy to get an A in the class. As long as you read the material and don't EVER fall asleep in class, you shouldn't have any problems. Though it is a 3 hr long class, he always gives breaks and usually lets everyone go an hour early. Very good teacher if at all interested in business or if you just want a decent GenEd.

if you read the material, you will pass. just about every quiz/test is open book/note. yes, most of you're grade is based on two projects that you take a test on, but they are not that hard. i had absolutely no interest in business before i took this class, and now i'm changing my major. take him for gbus 160. it's worth it.

Quiz every day, 4 tests, 2 projects, exam... Harder work than any other GBUS class at JMU so if you want an easy A, forget about it. However, if you work hard, this should be an easy A like it was for me. Also, don't make him mad and talk every once in a while in class, you will become a favorite which is good. Warning: Don't be late to class.

First off, the people giving him bad reviews are bitter because they didn't do well. If you go to class and do the work, you should be fine. You should know though that if you are literally one question away from a grade, he won't give it to you. He also is a little unfriendly (blunt) over email. Not a bad teacher, but he will make you work hard.

He wants you to do well but you have to put in the effort. There were 60+ people in the class but 5 a's and 19 a minuses. The book sucks. Participate, come to class, do the reading BEFORE class not during the open note tests and quizzes, memorize random parts of the reading that look significant because the class is about memorizing random facts and not about thinking critically. I initially did not like him or his class, but looking back I know i learned the most from it.

Lots of biter people on here that must have gotten bad grades. I got an A and didn't have to take the final. If you read and study for the daily quizzes and keep up on the projects you get a good grade. Open notes tests and quizzes and EC projects often if you come to class. Go to office hours, he was helpful.

If you want an easy A this isn't the class to take. There's a lot of work but the quizzes are open book. Read the assigned pages before class though. There's 2 projects which aren't too bad if you don't wait til the last minute. Definitely more interesting if you ask questions & talk about the stocks w/ him. If you do the work you'll get an A or B.

Seemed like a jerk towards the beginning of the year, but towards the end he's a really nice guy. The key to getting a good grade is just following all of his directions in his emails, because if you don't you'll probably fail a few quizzes. Hard work but an A is totally possible

People go way too hard on him, he's really a nice guy. If you're organized you'll do well - simple as that. You have to keep up with blackboard to stay on top of things, not too hard. I learned A TON of valuable information. If you get atleast an A- you're exempt from the final.

I got a A- on this class...The class is not really difficult, especially to a business student. but he made a lot of quizes, tests, exams and projects! that really annoyed me! anyway, he's still a good teacher and the credits are easy to gain.

Don't take take this class if your feelings get hurt easily. I was an A student in HS, studied really hard for the first test and got a C. Luckily we dropped 1 test and I did a lot better once I went to see him for help. I ended up loving the class and changed my major to business. He likes the Ravens so tell him you're fan even if you're not.

He is super personable and helpful. He is level with you; brutally honest. There is a lot of uncertainty as to what will be on tests. You gather your own information for them, and if you get them from different news sources than him, you won't do very well. This is frustrating. Overall though, he explains things well and the course isn't difficult.

I really enjoyed Professor Quinn's class, it was very interesting and you definitely learn stuff you will learn later on in life. His tests may be hard but if you take notes and do the reading you will do well. He also gives tons of extra credit and curves tests like crazy(14 points sometimes). It's not a hard class if you do your work.
