extremely organized and effective teacher. Hard homework and hard tests.
Less than masterful grasp of the English language. Rude. Strict.
my tutor tells me that what he gave us in calc I wasnt even taught in Calc III, other than that he is a nice guy...still, avoid at all costs
I thought he was a nice guy. He always hands stuff back on time. Ver y orgnaized and a great teacher. Explains math in a way anyone could understand.
good guy.
Very good teacher. Makes the subject very easy if you go to every class. Organized, passes stuff back very quickly. easy to ace the class if you payattention, otherwise your ****ed
Excellent teacher. He explains the material in a way thats easy to understand, encourages extra help in his office, hands papers back quickly. Very organized and neat. Tests are very very similar to the homework so do the homework.
Awesome teacher. Very clear. 100x better than Luce or tascione. If you want someone that can actually teach, take Radin.

Best teacher I have had at RIT. Concise, thorough, and very easy to follow. Exams are always straight forward. If you do the homework and workshops, you should get an easy A.
Very good teacher, just do your work, it's a lot and it only gets more difficult, but he's always there to help and explain.... takes FOREVER writing examples on the board, so if you don't get it, you have no excuse
very good professor. Although sometime is lecture make me fall asleep. BUt he very easy and very help ful in explaining the material. He did his example very slow. So, it is your fault if you still can't get the material. RECOMMEND TO PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS... OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT LOST... I like him, but only i wish he could move a lil bit quic
this guy can make a speed head fall asleep, DO NOT TAKE any class he teaches before noon!! Other than that he's an awsome professor
Highly reccomend this professor. Awesome job of teaching the materials and trying to make sure you understand. Workshop experiances were worth it. to get a A, attend all classes and workshops. Also study well! fun professor too laid back
Great class with a great teacher.
Easily the most pompous **** I've ever met. He hates in-class questions, gives very poor examples, and he has a specific way of doing EVERYTHING. He will not accept work not done in his format. Did I also mention that he is the most bitter person in the world?
Good teacher, very strict but explains all steps of the problems. Tests are based on HW but he's a very tough grader and takes points off for things not done his way. Still recommend him because you actually learn a lot in his class.
He is a great teacher, however he gives ALOT of homework and he is very strict. His tests are also the real deal, hard stuff; you must study for quite awhile to do well on his tests. Despite this he will teach you well, and you will learn if you put effort in. If you are willing to work sometimes 6 hours on homework, he's your teacher.
amazing professor, helpful and does teaches well. I have no idea what the other reviewer in Calc D is saying about, This guy does really helps a lot and answers in class questions. I wouldnt have got though this with a B without his help at all. props to him
He is very strict, but if you do the work you'll learn a lot and get a good grade. Definitely worth taking if you're not too good at math. He pushes you.
One of the best math professors at RIT. Too bad he's not a Physics professor there as well because he would be the best physics one as well. I understood the concept of integrating work in his Calc class while was highly confused in Physics. He's very helpful and almost always available. He's sends out email regarding tests, office hours and HW.
Best professor I have had here at RIT. This man cares about his students more than any professor I've had. I highly recommend Radin.
He is a great teacher. Always looking to help you out and his lessons are crystal clear.
Will not answer questions in class. Everything *must* be done his way (showing every step). Good class if you aren't a math major. The homework and workshops are redundant and he can spend 15 minutes on a problem. Recommend if you are bad at math, like tons of repeat homework, and non-english professors.
He is the BEST math teacher at this school! He is very clear on the material he teaches. He gives homework weekly, but its normally easy questions. If you do the work you will get an A, no doubt.
Great teacher! Radin has very specific techniques that he wants his students to follow, but he explains them with crystal clarity and gives plenty of examples. Also, he is an extremely generous grader. He can make you understand what's going on. Even if you aren't the best math student in the world.
If you enjoy listening to an incomprehensible idiot for two hours then you will enjoy this class. He is a very easy teacher and you will most likely get a good grade, however I now feel almost completely lost in my Calc 3 class. He dumbed everything down and can't handle questions. Everything revolves around his packets, expo markers, and pictures.
I'll admit I was a tad freaked out when I first met him. I answered one question and he expected me to answer every single one after that. Even so, he grew on me. He's an EXTREMELY generous grader and really tries to cram the material in your head. If you can't get an A in this class, you must be braindead.
without a doubt the best teacher i have ever had! his lessons are clear and he makes the material very easy to understand. Dr. Radin is very dedicated to his job as well as his students. he is always eager and happy to help you if you don't understand something. he really got me interested in math, they should make him head of the department!
horrible teacher, hard to understand
He was a great professor. I only took one quarter with him, but it was because he helped me test out of the class. He was very helpful and was very easy to approach with questions.
Kind of a love/hate relationship. Workshops are long and a lot of work, but you'll quickly realize that you're learning a lot more than you would with a more laid back teacher. He does have a bit of an accent, but understands the material very well. Grading is based on how much work you show, not on correctness. VERY easy to do well.
Worst professor ever. The man figured out how to lecture a mathematics course. It was horrendous. He assigns preposterous amounts of work to do and then is difficult to approach with a problem. His accent and ticks (such as "Hoe-kee") quickly get annoying, and you learn nothing. I blame him for my losing interest in mathematics.
Radin is an excellent professor who explains everything very clearly, but his attitude can make the class completely unbearable. He seems to have the mentality of many HS teachers -- "You owe me something. I'm not here for you, you are here for me." You will learn a ton in his class, but not without incredible frustration with his attitude.
I had him 3x. Great professor, there's a lot of work but it pays off in the end. A bit of an attitude, but I think he notices it sometimes and tries to play it off as being humorous. The accent it a little thick, but it's nothing that the notes won't clear up. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The best Math Professor at RIT. I wish he was a Physics Prof. as well
Dr. Radin is THE BEST math prof. at RIT. His lectures are crystal clear.Workshops are easy as most of the questions are repetitive questions. His tests are fair and easy as the questions are from the workshops. All the workshops are not due until Week 6. Bonus pts on tests for neat work. U wont need 2 go 2 his office hours/extra help if you do wrksh
good prof has some attitude but hes very good, easy A
Dr. Radin is undoubtedly the best professor I have personally had the privilege of learning from. His devotion to the academic advancement of his students goes without saying, and his techniques are clean cut and well organized. I would without hesitation try to be under his instruction.
Hes awesome
This guys awesome. He has such a contagious personality. Very nice guy you cant hate him. He has an accent but clear enough with explanations that its negligible. Strict but hes upfront about his rules all the time. Grading is very forgiving and all questions on tests are from the weekly workshops. DONT FALL BEHIND ON THE WORKSHOPS! He checks!
Dr. Radin is not only a great teacher but an awesome guy. Can be funny at times. The test questions come DIRECTLY from the workshops so study them and you'll be fine. Great grader looks to help you out and give you points. Attend all classes and be respectful to his rules and you'll be fine. One of RIT's best!
Great Professor. Best Calculus Professor that I have been taught by. His teaching methods stress practice. Staying on task is key. Not that hard to do so in his class.
The professor was teaching a GRE Prep Course, but went through the material so quickly covering 8-9 topics per class that he hardly used any examples from the book. He stresses practice but doesn't understand that if you can't start a problem you can't understand how to practice them.
One of the smartest professors I've ever met, not only does he have his doctorate in Mathematics but he also has a masters in Mechanical Engineering. Really knows his stuff and how it applies to real world situations. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Very organized and straight forward. If you are worried about not understanding calculus, take his class. While it may be a lot of work, you will come out knowing calculus better than anyone else. He is very fair grading hw and tests. If you skip class, come late, or give him additude hes not going to like you, and therefore he will not curve youup
Honestly Dr. Radin is as great an instructor as a come. Clear lectures. Organized. Fair. He expects all of his students to seek him if they are stuck because he is very thorough with all of his material. If I could take him for all of my math classes I would. With out 100% effort there is no success in his class. You will have learned so much!!
One of the most rewarding professors you could have. If you put the effort in to his class, he'll put the effort into making sure you get it. It's always reassuring to have him on my schedule.
Dr. Radin is definitely the best professor I've had. He is extremely clear when it comes to lectures, due dates, tests, and expectations. He really cares about his students and will get on your case if you've been missing class and/or haven't turned in homework. He always sends out email reminders about upcoming tests, assignments, etc.
One of the worst. What some people call concern I call irritating. He expects emails for missed classes, this is not the 7th grade. He openly rejects and discourages questions. He is one of the most pompous human beings ever. I went to his office hours and he told me he wouldn't answer one of my questions. Hate him.
Dr. Radin was one of the best teachers I have ever had. He can be slightly stubborn at times, however, he is always willing to help and accommodate anyone. I definitely recommend.
His teaching style is very clear. He uses a lot of examples so that you really understand, and the tests are quite easy if you do the workshop packets he gives. Definitely should take him.
He is an amazing professor and he will very quickly set you on the correct path on a problem if you ask him. He does expect communication if you are about to miss a class.
Radin is not very clear and does not explain well.
He isn't very helpful during class. He insists on asking questions but when someone does he will reject it or ignore it. He can also be quite rude.
One of the BEST. He'll frequently go over multiple sample problems to pound in your head exactly what you need to know. The numerous worksheets can be frustrating but he lets you choose which one's to turn in. He is very clear and concise with what needs to be explained in order to pass the class, but more importantly understand the material.
Great professor. He really cares about his students and will go the extra mile to help you if you ask. He's very humble and kind and overall a great person. He gives out a lot of worksheets to do, but there is definitely enough time to do them if you plan accordingly.
Great teacher, humble, cares for the success of his students, and will do his best in giving you the highest grade possible if you show him that you are trying
Radin is a great professor. He will help you as much as possible during office hours and workshop. He goes pretty fast during lectures but always gives you a chance to ask questions. Attendance is required. Overall, I would definitely recommend him.
Good teacher. Has a slight accent but it doesn't get in the way of his lectures very often. Offers a lot of open office hours so the help is there if you need it and he is willing to help. Tests can be difficult but if you do homeworks and workshops, they're not too bad. I'd take this professor again
Lots of homework, great guy, super hot.
Amazing professor take him if you can no questions asked
Probably the best professor I've had while at RIT.
I am not sure if this professor is the same. Took him at MSU for an MBA course. He does not appreciate questions, his assignments are long, and his deameanor in class is not becoming of a professor; RUDE!. 7 week course and I did more work for this class then my fulltime semester course. Respect that we have fulltime jobs and lives . NOT RECOMMEND
Does these worksheets that no other teacher does. Way too much work, and is in addition to weekly homework. Avoid.
Extremely fair tests: either exact HW questions, or something very similar. Final exam is entirely made of test questions from your semester. Put the effort into HW, it's 100% worth it! *PRO TIP: Radin will grade your HW early @office hours, but if you ask him to CHECK IT OVER, he'll show you what you did wrong and let you fix it before grading it
He truly cares about his job and the students. He offers as much help as possible. Very fair grading system if you at least put in a decent amount of work.
Good Professor, just do what you're supposed to and you will get an A. Decent amount of work and fair grader. His tests are open notes. One homework a week.
Very good professor! Provides a LOT of office hours and support outside of class. Vector calculus is difficult, but he will help you if you ask. He moves really fast, but will stop to emphasize important points. Can't go wrong here. Don't wear headphones in his class or he'll get mad
Available all of the time for students. His tests were exact questions from the homework and the final was exact questions from the 4 tests. Lowest test is dropped and 3/13 homeworks are dropped. Radin is over-clear sometimes. He'll tell you when you are wrong and is strict with algebra mistakes. Wants students to do well. Use his office hours!
Hes a great professor who really cares about his students. At first he might seem a bit odd but you will grow to like him (hopefully).
Has a lot of office hours for his students. His 4 tests were exact questions from the homework. The lowest test is dropped and 2/12 homeworks are dropped. Radin is very clear during his lectures and an excellent math professor. His office hours are so helpful when I was stuck on homework assignments. I would definitely recommend Radin!
He is very good at teaching calculus. Has a lot of office hours to get help and is happy to help you. Obviously wants you to succeed. You should show up for every class but if you don't he posts the notes online for you to catch up. Will let you move up the final if you need to. Really cares for you and wants you to learn.
Good professor for Multivar. However, I wish we got a bit more technical, had a bit more calculus review beforehand, and had a review of substance before the final. Otherwise, a solid choice. Better than the other profs that teach the class at least. Office hours are helpful. Occasionally comes off as condescending though.
Great Professor highly recommend his class.
This is for Discrete Math,I don't know about his other classes. You start doing homework, and like the first three to five questions are fine. Then you start having to do stuff he did not teach in class at all. This is where hopefully Google comes in clutch, and becomes a better teacher than your actual teacher, but which is pretty frustrating.
I've taken had two classes with Professor Radin Multivar and Vec Calc then Complex Variables. I was confused at first in Multivar, but I think that had more to do with the material then his teaching. He's very willing to answer students questions during class, which is quite helpful. He is somewhat of a harsh grader on tests.
Dr. Radin is a super nice guy, and he is very accessible outside of class, you just have to shoot him an email. He is very flexible with HW deadlines and genuinely wants you to succeed. Also, grading for tests and HWs is super quick. As some other posts said, he comes down hard on algebra errors but he is super receptive to questions come up.
Uses written notes he made himself instead of a textbook, but the notes aren't good as general examples to actually help you understand the homework. Instead of clarifying he just solves homework problems for you, so it's difficult to actually get clarification that will help you on tests. He does send you the answer key when you submit HW though.
Made a two hour calc lecture be 1.25-1.5 hours then used rest of class for "office-hours". Hard to pay attention to hand written notes on zoom and goes fast through certain parts of solutions. If you ask for help on homework in his office hours, he will show you the whole solution. Difficult to ask for help in office hours as the whole class there.
I took Complex Analysis with Dr. Radin. Great professor, gave clear, concise notes with tons of examples and many homework assignments. Exams were basically reiterations of homework so if you do well on assignments, tests are a breeze. He also allowed corrections on homework so with hard work, it's easy to do well in this course. Awesome professor!
Made learning Complex Variables fun, I really enjoyed this class and professor. A wonderful learning experience for a calculus class.
I was getting a D 3 weeks into this course, but professor radin is the only professor who has ever seen me doing poorly, and reached out to me via email to discuss the trouble i was having in the course, and the fact i ended up with an A in the course in the end should tell you all you need to know
He is a very smart professor, but his long online lectures can be very boring. Intrinsically motivated students will find him to be an amazing professor who is easy to reach and extremely flexible, but it can be very easy to fall behind. Sometimes comprehending content can be difficult due to his slight accent combined with a poor microphone.
Dr. Radin provided excellent feedback and had an impressive turnaround on homework and tests. The lectures were boring and difficult to follow. He teaches from his own notes which are difficult to follow. Asking for assistance on a problem often resulted in him providing a solution to the question.
Discrete Math was a rough course but Dr. Radin made it very doable. Admittedly his lectures were boring sometimes, but he always has his notes & recordings of the zoom sessions available on MyCourses. His grading was phenomenal. I would get homework assignments back from him quite literally in minutes, and with helpful feedback. (GOAT RADIN)
I hate online classes and long lectures, so I definitely had struggle points in this class, but Professor Radin is very knowledgeable and wants to see his students succeed. The lectures can be hard to follow but if you need help, go to him and you will get it! Grades super fast and gives feedback so you always know how you're doing. Great prof!
You know this class is intriguing when someone says "OK" like a child voice actor. Dr. Radin, notable for teaching Discrete Math, has taught me that it is "okay" to make mistakes and is very helpful after class. His notes are always available in myCourses and his Zoom Lecture Recordings, but be aware some of his notes aren't clear for some homework
I had Dr. Radin for Calc 2 and it was great. His class is online but he was great at making use of it. The tests could be considered difficult but they were definitely fair. (Decently similar to what we did in class). He was great at simplifying the difficult topics. Made it 10x easier than calc 1 for me at least. 100% would take again.
Radin was an amazing professor. He gave great feedback on each homework assignment and even exams on questions you got wrong. You take four exams in total (not including the final) and the lowest exam is dropped. The online lectures were helpful and he posts each zoom meeting so you won't be behind. Definitely recommend Radin as a professor!
Dr. Radin is a great Prof! His feedback in assignments are helpful, and he's always encouraging students to ask questions.
Best Calc prof I could have had. Always encourages questions, gives good feedback through email (Its obvious a majority of his emails are copy and pasted) Offers every form of outside communication (email, zoom, phone call). Lowest test is dropped along with 2 lowest HW's. Homeworks are hard, but managable with practice. (similar to tests)
Radin means well and loves to help students, his teaching style did not work for me at all. His homework is so difficult the tutors I went to often struggled. He gives out insanely hard test questions with no preperation from him before hand to teach you how to solve them. The fact this man is not 2 stars is beyond me. Please reconsider this class
Tests are less than 8 questions, usually being around 6 questions. Homework is much the same, but with corrections available. Classes are held both in-person and over Zoom with a virtual whiteboard available. Questions cannot be asked over Zoom, but Professor Radin is easy to contact, with cell number inside the syllabus and encouraged to use.
Dr. Radin is a good person who knows math, but he just didn't work for me as a prof. He was accessible to answer questions, however I was lost in the class. You could attend class on Zoom. Didn't explain concepts well or vocab used. Accent didn't help. Tests done remotely/honor system. Can re-submit HW until end of semester. Tests are 60% of grade.
Professor Radin is great - provides helpful feedback and encourages questions. The online lectures were useful, and Unstuck AI alongside the course materials helped me stay on top of the content.
