This class is NOT required for biology majors do not take it unless you have no study skills. It is a HUGE waste of time!!!

This class is terrible, all it is just a bunch of busy work that teaches you nothing. Also, if you dont get a B- or above in a class you got to go to study hours in the library, which is a total waste of time. I cannot emphasize enough how bad it is.

Sci2 is a waste of time. Randle is a big guy who tries to scare students. Don't be scared of this guy. This class assumes you'll be failure in college and tries to teach you how to be successful. I don't need someone to tell me what to do.

I won't say anything about Michael, but Sci 02 was the worst class I've ever taken in my life. I'm convinced they only created this class so science majors won't be impacted. They just want to scare you away, and they were successful in my case. I still have nightmares about it 4 years later. AVOID!

Oh my God where do I start? This class sucks big time. I took this class in 2003 and reading these previous ratings of it, I can't believe that it still sucks. I had a horrible experience in this class. I learned absolutely nothing and on top of that, I wasted a whole lot of time and money on this course. I'm warning you. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Has to be one of the worst classes ive never taken. Every person ive ever talked to about the class has said they would not have taken it if they had known what is was like. The class is completely useless, and will take up a ton of your time. Do yourself a favor and avoid Sci 2.

mr. randle is a nice guy. but this class is useless. basically it divided into 3 parts. first main lecture, activity section, and pa. main lecture is ok..activity depends on your instructor,one of the instructors really caught up with grammar in your work so that's not good.PA meeting is useless.they test you on your notes.. WAY too much useless

All he cares about is eating and having BBQs. If you arrive tardy you are in big trouble, unless you have some candy bars to bribe him with. Likes to scare students with threats of dropping. I hope he doesn't teach much longer.

This was a horrible class & huge waste of time. Way too much busy work and re-doing EVERYTHING. Took up more of my time and learned less in this class than all others. DO NOT RECOMMEND for anyone who has half a brain, as the teacher talks down to you all the time. He's just an obese, power-tripping angry black man. Can't even use correct English.

This class was a complete waste of time. They try to reinforce ideas that have already been drilled into our heads by giving us immense amounts of utterly useless work. Not only is it useless, but they make you write to suit a scale built into word. Do not take this class unless you want do be bored to death and work much more than necessary.

1. This is a degrading class. 2. Randle comes off as disciplinary but to the point where students feel disrespected. 3. If PA's weren't a part of this class, I would be burying my own grave as my speak. First of all, don't take this class. regardless of major, it is not required (for GE/graduation requirement) like randell says. we all got tricked by him in the orientation. and pretty much screwed up my whole semester or my entire LIFE i should say.. only lesson i learned from this class was "dont take this class".

Michael Randle advertises this class as something that will help you graduate in four years. I have found it to be quite the opposite. In fact, Science 2 made my entire first semester more difficult and my college experience as a whole less enjoyable. The curriculum for this class is scattered across many subjects,irrelevant and a complete waste.

THIS CLASS IS DUMB, the school is stupid allowing students to take this class. It is not helpful at. The stuff you learn in class is stupid. Its a lot of pointless assignments, midterms and PA meetings. Making stupid notecards for every class was pointless and had to memorize them all. Michael needs to stick to his day job as a GE Advisor, and leave teaching to people with credentials. Single most patronizing and pointless class that I have EVER taken. We didn't learn anything until the last 3 weeks of class. Nothing but busy work and threats to fail students. If you value your time and mental health, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

This class is not worth your time. You do learn some useful info about SJSU such as procedures and rules but the work demanded is BS. You will end up wasting the majority of time on this class. EX: Scaveger Hunt- where you print out every form from the regitrar and describe it, this is worth 10% and is pass/fail, if you miss a form you fail.

I learned nothing. after passing this stressful class full of PA meetings, activities meetings, and study hall. college is not as busy as they tell you. it was a complete stress-or for my first year of college. thi class ruined my first semester.they say itz only 1 class but in actual we need to attend 5 classes a week and you will be assigned with under the heaps of never ending assignments

Oh god why did i even take this class, first off class is called science 2 but no science involved in any way, grading is ridiculous, all of my stress came from this class, "ready to work" is his stupid moto, he will not bend the rules to help you, you will cry in this class

This class was the worst class of my freshman year. I thought to my self, success in science that should be helpful to my major Nope complete wrong. This class may have useful information however you wont learn it under the death amount of pointless work. I read the reviews and though this class couldnt be as bad as they said. Stay away from this class. The amount of work is not equal to the amount of credits you get anyway. None of the work here is useful, except for possibly pathways. Other than that stay away. Save yourself!

It's like a homework bootcamp and it treats the students as if they're still in high school.

400 students were forced to take this class because Michael claimed "it has been helpful to students". Straight up BS. This class is meant to help students with their other classes...this class had more work than all my other classes combined. Ironic isn't it? Advice: Don't fall into probation otherwise you are in for one hell of a ride.

This class is a sad excuse for SJSU to pretend like they care about their students. However this class single handedly can ruin your entire college career. A lot of pass or fail assignments. He fails you if you have a single aspect missing from the project (EX. a blank page to space out work).

When you first look at you schedule you see that you have to meet for this class only 3 days a week THIS IS A LIE. Along with the 3 days you are required to go to a meeting with your peer adviser and meet with your success groups once a week and if you have below a b in ANY class you have 10 hrs of study hall a week. As a commuter it was very hard.

was forced to take this class because frosh orientation made no sense. you will be given passfail assignments to "help" you and if you pass, yay move on if you fail, "you need to follow directions (that dont even exist)" move on. nothing helped me because i already researched for myself. be ready to be confused

This class and Mr. Randle in particular was so bad that I completely left San Jose State University because of it. The fact that many students are forced to take it is an absolute tragedy on the part of the school. I have never taken a class that specialized in giving students useless busy work that sucks up so much time away from core classes.

Michael Randle is rude. I took this class because I was on academic probation. He put a hold on my account for registration and even when I got off academic probation he still kept the hold. When I talked to him about it he said "give me a grade check then I'll decide whether or not I think you'll pass". Class was a waist and filled with busy work

It would be easier to make a time machine, go back in time and prevent yourself from taking Science 2 than doing all the work in the first place. There is a very, VERY high chance that he will extend due dates for projects.

HORRIBLE PROFESSOR. EVERYONE AVOID HIM. He is the meanest guy, and he gives useless assignments. Everyone avoid him when you get the chance! This class could just be easily summed up with a pamphlet. Unless you have to take Sci90 don't. They lure you in with the hope of improving your GPA but honestly this class distracts with tediuos time wasting assignments witch will often receive a 0 for small issues because the Mikey and friends enjoy their power trip. This will distracts heavily from your other difficult and more important courses.

Basically, this guy has no respect for most college students. The main gist of this class has nothing to do with career exploration and has all to do about SJSU and Malcolm X. My dear sweet Michael Randle, I loved this class minus the useless assignments that has nothing to do with career exploration. Freshman avoid this class if you can. Also fails you in assignments for one simple mistake. Get "ready to work".

The entire class is pass or fail assignments basically. Even if you fail you can probably ask to redo the assignment but this class was advertises as career exploration. This name definitely doesn't fit the class because it feels a lot more like a high school avid class but in college. I feel like I did not learn anything about any career.

The tests were unnecessarily difficult and there was no structure to the class. The grades also were not given to us until the last second. I did not feel like I was taking a science class it was more like busy work.

The title of this class was misleading, as a science major I found that I did not learn much since the class lacked structure. I hope they find a way to change the curriculum and make it a more enjoyable class, and I do not necessarily mean easier.

Avoid this man at all costs. He's on a power trip and does not care about his students at all. Pointless busy work and he's extremely unhelpful and rude when communicating with him. This class is a joke and a waste of money. Seriously, he called me a waste of space. Will give you an F over one mistake. Made me want to KMS.
