This professor came in at the end of the semester when our class had problems with our original professor, and let me say thank God! He is great, responds to all your questions and he is not a tough grader. The class has a a lot of work but it's not difficult. Two BIG assignments, but if you follow instructions you will do fine! Highly recommend.

Do take any course with this professor! He is the perfect example of FIU! He will challenge you respectfully. A great professor, scholar, and creator in communication. Take him-he cares and is genuine and a confirmation that FIU does have a high level of creative professors who can communicate- in person or on line and care.

Took this class during summer A. Super easy and really interesting. You have a weekly assignment, only two discussion board posts, one paper, and a final. He gives a review for the final through adobe connect, but I did not attend and still go an 85 on the final. It's really an easy class!

Online classes tend to be the most annoying types of class ever. Prof. Rodriguez's isn't at all. There are several projects, but they're all fun to do and if you're a creative junkie like I am, you'll love them. Easy, straight forward class with your regular amount of HW.

Took his class online; was a summer semester class, so more "up-tempo" than normal, but was very fair with the amount of work. We had 2 discussion postings each week along with reading and videos and questions. Only one 3-4 page paper and a final exam, which was tough, but if you study beforehand you'll pass with no problem. Enjoyed his class!

I loved taking a class with professor Rodriguez. First of all he saves you a lot of money by not requiring a textbook. He posts all of the readings that you would need weekly (and they are all very interesting!) The assignments were very simple and fun to do. Will definitely be taking more classes with him!

He is very helpful and pretty lenient on things and very understanding if you miss something or cannot do something or are having technical difficulties. His weekly assignments are super easy and graded fairly and come straight off his powerpoint or online textbook. Clear grading criteria and overall interesting class and easy.

This is my second course I take with Prof. Rodriguez. The assignments do not drain you unlike other course assignments. The class consisted of 10 Weekly Assignments, 3 Essays (Interesting Topics), 2 Discussion Posts, and a Mid-Term and Final Exam which you have more than enough time to complete. Overall, I highly recommend his courses!

He is my favorite prof at FIU. I have taken 3 classes with him and wish I could take more. Follow instructions, do your assignments and you will be fine. I took online and he really made it interesting. He answers emails immediately so you are never left hanging. Take him you will not regret it but you obviously have to do the work.

Very simple course. Everything is outline in syllabus and goes exactly as planned. He is a very simple grader, and grades on time. Which isn't very common. Just don't be an idiot and you'll pass.

I took Professor Rodriguez Spring 2017, he was very helpful, always kept students on track with reminders and assignments were straight to the point. The course has an online course code and all the answers are in the E- text. Highly recommended for information and Easy A.

All the study material he gives is are helpful (provides study guides for both midterm and final), it makes the class pretty simple to study for. Also, he is VERY generous with assignment deadlines and working with you if you miss an assignment. Responds to messages quickly.

I had him as my instructor for COM 3404 online and he was awesome. He really tried to answer all the questions and address problems. Hard work truly pays off in his class, as you need to complete the work. Decent amount of writing, but if you follow the directions you will do fine.

He's a great teacher and he really cares about getting the information across to the students. Answers messages almost instantly. Tests aren't super difficult but if you study it's an easy A.

Professor Rodriguez was the man. Easy class to pass, but took some work to do well in. Thoroughly enjoyed it and his instruction. He was more than willing to put in extra time with students who were willing to work.

Great Professor! There's going to be a lot of studying/work before an exam but it's nothing a college student can't handle. Gives you the review sheets 2 wks before the exam, his grading is fair. There is also three 2-3 page papers, which are fun to do! He makes the class enjoyable even though its online. Overall great professor!

I took his online class, and he organizes the work into folders, which makes finding assignments easy. The subject itself is interesting, and he is not a tough grader. Out of all my college professors, he is definitely one of the most understanding. His class was great to take, and his Powerpoints help to simplify the chapters in the book.

Taking online classes can be difficult, however, with Professor Rodriguez it was very manageable. He was kind enough to work with me and understanding when I had a personal issue and allow me to submit my assignments. I recommend anyone to take his courses at FIU!

Professor Rodriguez is a great professor, he's down to earth and is as fair as possible. Just take to your reading schedule complete your assignments .He's great at responding to your emails in a timely manner and can be flexible if the situation calls for it. Hands down,he's definitely a keeper! I plan on taking him again for a different course.

Took an online class with Professor Rodriguez and it was well organized and everything was set up great! He is very understanding and works with you as long as you communicate prior to the assignment due dates. I would recommend taking any course that he teaches!

I did not find this class to be difficult. I did it online. As long as you complete the assignments on time and put in some work, you will do great. There were a lot of essays to write, but it was not too intense. Papers would be based on movies and some reading.

Do the work and get an "A." He is clear with the course from the beginning, easy to access, communicates well and overall a fantastic class. The material is fantastic and the class is well put together. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Professor Rodriguez most definitely makes you work. I took two of his classes and both of them were all about the papers. However, I personally love writing and found the weekly paper requirement challenging in a good way. Grading is on the tough side, dont expect 100%, but its fair. If you like writing, watch as it improves. Tests are easy!

He is a really good teacher, answers emails really fast, and will explain what he wants you to do if you ask. Take this class, it is excellent.

Total of three tests. He is amazing! He gives you everything you need to pass and will always be available to you if you have any questions. Learned a lot and got an A.

We had all the assignments due on Tuesday night every week which made it easy to keep track of. Discussion posts, multiple choice quizzes, short answer quizzes. Easy if youve read and understand the chapters. No surprises :) he also answers emails super fast

He is seriously amazing! I took this class online and the work load was manageable. There are 6 speech analysis, sounds like a lot but its really not. There are weekly discussion post but its helps that you are able to not only use the readings but personal experience as well to answer. I loved his class and would 100% recommend anyone to take him!

I took this class online, it wasn't hard at all. There were a few guided discussions and two short-answer exams, which the professor was very easy when grading. Please use the book for the exams, I was able to find it online. Other than that, easy course and the professor was very generous with the grades!!

Took this class online to get the GRW credit and it was way harder than I expected. The textbook is so hard to understand and so vague. There's five 2-3pg essays, three 3-paragraph discussion posts, three 1-paragraph discussion posts, midterm and final. The teacher is fine and you can get an A if you do all the work.

Amazing teacher. Took this class online and he was so good with communicating! Quite a bit if work but its really easy work and hes an awesome grader. Midterm and final -- he gives a review before which is REALLY similar to the tests. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Prof Rodriguez made my first online class experience better than I would have expected. you'll have one assignment a week which does not consume as much time mostly analysing speeches. There are 2 exams which he can provide very well explanations after. He is also very communicative and caring wanting his students to pass. Please take this course:)

Im an online student so Im used to having little to no interaction with my professors but he was constantly sending emails about assignments & willing to go the extra mile if needed. Easy class with straightforward assignments. He's not a harsh grader and very kind. However, he does not provide detailed feedback so you just have to guess what you need to improve on. I would still recommend his class.

Prof. Rodriguez is very nice and caring. The class wasn't easy because you have to write a lot, but as long as you do what you're asked for you should be fine. No midterm, no final, no quizzes.

Professor Rodriguez is 100% needed for times like this! He was very clear in his grading criteria and was always able to clarify any confusion about the assignment requirements. We did 4 capstone projects and a number of discussions but all are easy if you have the book. To fail this class you would just have to do 0 work... would recommend it!

I really enjoyed this class. The teacher has very clear rubrics, always leaves feedback and encouragement, and gives due dates with lots of time in advance. I wish I could take more classes with him.

The ratings are correct once assignments are submitted grades are posted. This is a professor you definitely want to take if you dont wont any surprises at the end of the semester.

Although I know some people had a tough time with the graders that work alongside this professor I never had any issues. I did what was asked and always received amazing grades. I loved this professor. I took public speaking in the summer as an online course and it wasn't too hard. I only struggled with the 2 tests since they are SUPER specific on the textbook, like crazy details to remember.

This is an easy a class. Instructions for assignments are clear, and they're easy to complete if you start them early. There's graders which I had an issue with for one assignment, but Professor Rodriguez corrected my grade. Take this class.

this professor is easy-going he is a really good grader. ready for easy work I bought the book honestly you don't need it to take him don't think about it anymore some easy 1-2 page papers nothing crazy.

Do yourself a favor and take this Professor. I took this online class during the Summer for six weeks and it had a very easy workload and quizzes. He answered all my emails within minutes and was a VERY easy grader. He also gives you the entire week to submit work, unlike other teachers that make you submit work three times a week. Easy A

We had 3 movie reflections which are 1-2 pages, a final essay which was 3-4 pages, and a final exam. The movies were pretty boring and hard to follow but he's not a tough grader. Easy A

Some people had a tough time with the graders that are assigned to the class but I never had any issues. It seems any section of this course uses graders.I did what was asked and always received good grades. I would recommend taking him, as he is understanding and tries to work with the students and the grades the graders provide. Follow directions

This professor is excellent!! I recommend taking him as not only was he approachable and welcomed questions but was also extremely clear on his grading criteria. As long as you followed his grading criteria, you got an A! He was also incredibly understanding when I had an extenuating circumstance and had to turn things in late. Take this professor!

The assignments were easy, but the instructions were sometimes unclear/odd. A grader grades all the assignments, my grader was critical, and I never got a 100% on any assignment. When I believed I was given an unfair grade, the professor re-graded my assignment(s) and discussed with the grader. He responds quickly to emails. The textbook is needed.

Assignments are creative and there are speeches due almost every week. The assignments were easy to complete, but he takes a while to grade the speeches. The course ended 3 days ago and I still have not received a final grade and 3/4 speeches are still not graded, but I am pretty sure I will end up with an A.

A looooot of presentations. Final and midterm were not proctored. Took this class completely online over the summer.

The assignments were easier than they seemed and while sometimes the readings didn't help, none were too hard to do. He isn't a harsh grader and the few creative assignments we get are doable (and I say this as someone who's really bad with anything art-related). Overall, I really recommend the class. I enjoyed the assignments and it was easy.
