2018 is his first year as a professor at wcu. The class itself (bio 259) has a very high failure rate as a whole, good professor, horrendously difficult class.
Dr. Rosario was very nice and approachable. The class is hard, but he makes the material seem not as scary and manageable. He also curves the exams depending on how well the class did. Very open to feedback since he is new, and allows for some small extra credit on each exam.
Dr. Rosario is a very nice & intelligent guy. His lectures are interesting, but it is important to go to class to pass. Also, tutoring helps. This was his first time teaching this course, but I think he did a really great job of doing it and it will only get better. For the last couple tests he gave study guides, so he might do it again.
His lectures are interesting and funny, but the material of the class is difficult so you really have to study. His exams are hard but it's his first time teaching so I think he's making them easier next semester (spring 2019). He is helpful during office hours and I would recommend going to tutoring. Textbook isn't necessary but is helpful.
Dr. Rosario is probably the most intuitive professor. He tries to explain concepts and ideas in the easiest way possible. The lectures are heavy but try to make it fun. he curves the exams and gives extra credit. Dr. Rosario is always available for office hours. I would absolutely take Dr. Rosario again!!!
I was really nervous going into anatomy, but Dr. Rosario made it as easy as possible. The class is extremely hard, you will have to study a lot and put in a lot of effort if you want a good grade. He is good at teaching and tries to explain everything. Labs are hard, but okay if you study A LOT you will do okay.
Rosario made this class so much better, I'd love to take him again. He genuinely wants you to understand the material, don't be afraid to ask questions! Exams follow the powerpoints very closely. Try and take notes on things he says that aren't necessarily written down and just study from that. Lab is hard, it's a lot of memorization.
Fall 2018 was Dr. Rosario's first time teaching here. He is young and very personable person to talk to. This is a 4 credit class so obviously you will have to put a lot of time studying and going over the material but he is always available. His power points are also structured very well so that they make note taking easy.
Great professor!. You have to put in the time and dedication for this class or you won't pass. Also, don't wait till the last minute to study. He gives out study guides which helps you a lot. I suggest doing the study guide as he talks because it's way much easier and he goes in order. Lab quiz r easy. Take pics of models, easy way to pass in lab.
Anatomy is hard, there is an obscene amount of info you need to know for this class but Dr. Rosario makes it interesting and therefore it's easier to retain. His office hours saved my grade, it's good to feel like there's someone to hold you accountable. Such a nice guy, cares SO much about his students. Best prof I've had in my 5 yrs undergrad.
A&P is a really hard class but professor Rosario does what he can to make it easier! He really cares about his students and is always willing to explain things multiple times until you understand. He lets you take pictures during the labs which helps a lot! Great professor
Rosario is great--material is very difficult, but he does a good job explaining it. He offers extra credit, and posts sample questions before the exam so you have an idea of what to expect. Lab is HARD. I bombed the first practical, but then learned to take pics of the models in lab---this is the way to an A. Go to his office hours, go to CLASS
Professor Rosario is the most caring professor I've ever had. I liked him even before we switched to online, but since then he has put in so much work to get his material online and made such an effort to make the transition as easy and understandable as possible. Great professor, funny, fair grader (no trick questions), etc. All around great guy!
Awesome guy. Explains everything in detail and the test questions aren't tricky, you just have to study the lectures and you will pass. Show up to class though because you will get necessary information for the exams. Very caring and wants you to be successful.
Dr. Rosario is an AMAZING PROF!!! He really cares about what he is teaching and tries to explain concepts so his students will understand them easier. A&P is a very hard class, but he also gives a lot of extra credit. You need to study every single day for lecture exams and lab practicals. An A is obtainable if you really put in the hard work.
Barely ever replies to emails, gives very vague answers to student questions, and provides terrible feedback. Would choose any other professor over him.
I could not say enough good things about Dr. Rosario. His lectures were incredibly clear, & he made this info as understandable as possible. He was super accessible & caring. We had to move online 1/2 way through due to covid, & he made the class transfer so smoothly. Easily one of the best professors I've ever had!! I wish I had taken him for lab!
Such a caring professor, always there to make things more clear or easier on us. Lab practicals and exams are heavily graded so study hard for those! The textbook is not really needed, take notes on what he says in class and on the slides and you will do fine. It is a hard class but he understands that and makes things clear. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!!
I love dr. rosario. he makes a study guide for everyone to follow the lectures with. he's young and funny, and he has a lot of opportunities for extra credit. you won't do well on the exams if you skip lectures, but there everything on the exams is gone over during lecture. amazing guy. 10/10
Dr. Rosario is a great professor. He is always so passionate about what he is teaching! He makes me wish I could understand it so that I could enjoy it as much as he does!
Dr. Rosario is A KING. Literally take his class if you ever get the chance. Such an awesome professor. Inspiring, funny, great teacher, oh my gosh i could go on forever. He makes anatomy bearable... and passable. Someone give this man a grammy
I would sell my soul for this professor. Rosario is WCU jesus. Only thing he could improve on is teaching every class at this school. Hes funny. He shared his lo-fi playlist with us. 10/10 dad jokes. Anatomy sucks but its sucks way less with this GEM of a professor. Fiorentino, give him a raise ASAP!!!
Dr. Rosario is the nicest human ever, very caring about his students, and often shows students pictures of his dogs!! Obviously, biology is a hard subject so there will be lots of work put into this class but Dr. Rosario makes it worth it!
I would definitely take dr. rosario if you can. anatomy will always be a tough class but if you are lucky enough to have him as your teacher, it won't be as bad. he gives out a lot of extra credit and gives very good lectures. you might even get the chance to see his dogs
I respect this professor a lot. He has adapted to online learning more than any other professor. He sets up his lectures by streaming live on YouTube and you can ask questions without interrupting the class. There is homework every week and 4 exams. There is a lot of information to be learned but he definitely makes it interesting.
Dr. Rosario is the best professor I've had at WCU so far going into my junior year. He was absolutely amazing, considering how hard this class is designed to be. He gave us tips and tricks since he took anatomy in college. He loves talking with students and is so passionate about what he teaches. He is just amazing!
Dr. Rosario seriously is the best science professor you could ask for. He is helpful, caring, offers extra credit, and is so helpful if you put the effort in. This class is by no means easy but he makes you want to work hard and earn a good grade. Lectures aren't mandatory but if you skip there's a good chance you won't do very well.
Rosario is the best professor ever I love him so much!! Take him for lecture and lab if you can. He gives extra credit and is so helpful in office hours. If you actually put in the effort, this class isn't very hard. Just don't be lazy. No need to buy the physical; textbook for 259.
Professor Rosario was a great teacher. His lectures are interesting and engaging. You don't necessarily have to go to all the lectures, but I highly recommend attending if you want to do well. I had to study a lot for his class, but he gives clear expectations and there are some extra credit opportunities to help you out. Great professor overall!!
Dr. Rosario is an amazing teacher, the best I've had here so far. He is caring and very passionate and listens to student feedback. The class is so interesting. It is hard but just put in the time to study and you'll do well. He has review sessions and lots of good resources for us. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Sad the class is ending
Dr. Rosario is a great instructor. He makes his lectures engaging and he provides recordings of the lecture with an attendance taken during the class. He also provides a good amount of extra credit. There was 4 lecture exams and 3 lab practicals. Put in the effort, and you will do good!
I hated this class not because it's anatomy, but because Dr. Rosario is an AWFUL professor. The slides have little information and then he explains things a little more in-depth and then you read the textbook. Once you take the test there is 1000 times more information on there than we learned or read. The lecture exams are so hard for no reason.
Dr. Rosario is a great professor. The class is based on Mastering assignments, 4 exams, and 3 practicals but he does offer extra credit. The lectures are very heavy in content and sometimes he explains things more in detail than needed, but he does offer review sessions before every exam. Put in the work and this class will be very exciting!
He is great at explaining and a good guy, hes super easy to talk about life events to. He cares about students and is a good grader. I would take him again.
Dr. Rosario is very nice and approachable. His tests are taken online not in class but are very hard and you cannot look up things. He records all lectures so I recommend rewatching all the lectures before the test to take better notes. Attendance is mandatory and you do not get access to online lectures if you do not go to class that day.
GO TO OFFICE HOURS! Bio 259 is a pretty hard course if you dont apply yourself. Dr. Rosario is a super helpful guy and if you go to office hours to review study guides/look at exams he will help you understand so much better. Overall, just make sure you go to the lectures, pay attention/ask questions, go to office hours, and honestly read the book
I love Rosario. I had him for bio lab, and I enjoyed having him as my prof. I dreaded 3-hour labs, but I liked the class. The exams weren't too bad cause it was open note. He always offered help and explained things thoroughly. He's very comfortable with other students and is very relatable. He's super nice. I'd recommend having him for a class.
Really nice and super interesting! He teaches you a lot and I was always remembered the content.
Absolutely loved him as a professor. Lectures are easy to follow and he posts them after for you as long as you are present in class.
Loved Dr. Rosario, he knows his material very well! I highly suggest showing up in person for this lecture b/c the slides he posts online don't cut it for the details he goes into. He takes great interest in the topics, explains things very clearly in the lecture, and likes when people ask questions. Also doesn't give lots of homework.
A super great guy that clearly loves to teach. Definitely attend lectures because he only let's you access recordings if you do. He just wants his students to succeed and love biology as much as he does. Nothing but good things to say.
Dr. Rosario needs to be studied by other professors at WCU so they can learn exactly what to do. If Rosario offers a course for your major, TAKE IT!!! This is my second semester having him and I would not have survived 110 or 259 without him. Amazing lectures, resources, slides, demonstrations, and fun facts.
He's amazing! So organized and easy to learn from. Bio is hard for me, but his lectures and homework helped me so much. Take him and make sure not to skip his class.
Dr. Rosario is an amazing professor! He puts a lot of effort into his lectures and makes things very understandable. I suggest going to class and the optional review sessions. Also, take note of the attendance quizzes because some questions may show up on the exam later. Make sure to participate in class and ask questions when you need to.
Very passionate about the subject he teaches; even if you don't care about Biology the energy he gives off during lectures is infectious. He was a fantastic professor, I would gladly take another one of his courses.
Dr. Rosario was a great professor. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. He goes into a lot of detail during lectures and gives a lot of examples and analogies to help you better understand the material. However, the labs were hard and nothing like the lectures, so be prepared to STUDY. Overall a nice guy and does take attendance
If you can take a class with Dr. Rosario, take it!
Dr. Rosario is an amazing lecturer! He does a great job explaining the material and makes sure his students understand the content. He gives extra credit, and does his best to make a hard class less stressful for his students.
Very understanding and cares for his students. He gives many opportunities for extra credit, and homework assignments are not difficult at all. He gives multiple attempts, so it's not dificult to do well of the mastering assignments.
Rosario was the best prof ive ever had. His teaching style is very informative and he is very passionate about this subject. He made A&P fun to learn about and easy to digest. Make sure to study and ask questions and you will do well. For practicals make sure you study before the lab and use time wisely during.
Dr Rosario is a very good professor; his lectures are very thoughtful and he has good online resources to use. If you go to 80% of your lectures and keep up with the online assignments, this course shouldn't be too difficult.
Lecture exams were online, taken wherever you'd like and lab practicals were taken in the lab on paper. He spent hours with me in office hours going over the bone and muscle models to help me be best prepared for the lab practicals. I thought I'd never pass anatomy but he made it possible. He is so kind and truly wants to help. I 100% recommend.
He was very helpful and informative.
Words cannot describe how amazing Dr.Rosario is. He is extremely passionate about his work. His lectures are easy to understand because he doesn't over-complicate biology. He engages with his students and answers all their questions. His tests are easy, online, and can be taken anywhere. His class is impossible to fail, 100% would recommend :)
Loved Rosario so much! He made his lectures interesting, and he often would make funny references to help you learn the material. The only negative I have for him is that his office hours are really hard to get into. If you need help on an assignment, I suggest going to a tutor rather than him because you'll be waiting weeks for an appointment
Very easy and understandable, can use notes for all exams. Homework was easy and only one was assigned a week. Even if you miss the class notes/lecture slides are always posted on D2L.
A ton of opprotunity to improve your grade and helps you understand better
Best teacher I've ever had. Awesome, interesting lectures, felt very comfortable asking him questions. I would recommend reading the textbook as it helps a lot with the mastering quizzes and just understanding the material if you're looking to get a really good grade.
Dr. Rosario is a great professor. His lectures are detailed and informative. He gives attendance quizzes, which has similar questions to his exams. The actual exams are fairly easy if you study for them. He will also give you a lecture recording if you attend class. However, his office hours are hard to get into.
Awesome professor. He makes sure you understand the material. His exams are online, his HW is on inclusive access, and you get points for attedance. I would say you would have to try to fail to not pass. I will say since he is a prof as well as a advisor office hours are hard to schedule. But you will not be disappointed :)
Rosario is a great teacher and he really helped me understand different topics. He records lectures and post notes that you have access too when you attend class that are super helpful.
at-home online exams, posts lectures online, super nice & always answer questions, was super engaging. overall a very easy class but make sure to pay attention! even though this is an easy class (easy to cheat). if you're a science major you need to know everything for BIO 111 otherwise you're already behind & it hasn't even started yet!
I just wish he could go back to the online lecture exams. It was so much easier to concentrate rather than a huge lecture with everyone in it. It's a very tough course and this is my second time taking the class. I wish i stayed in it when it was online the lecture exams. He's a great guy but I don't think it's fair for the class to change it now.
All exams online and taken wherever you want. You have to go to class he gives attendance quizzes every time. Even though you can just cheat on the tests and all that I would still pay attention and try to learn because a lot of this information comes back up in future courses.
Bio 259 is a difficult course but Rosario is an amazing professor.
Dr. Rosario taught many classes. He puts together extensive lectures that give you most of everything you need to know. BIO110 isn't hard, test are online and anywhere you want. This builds for other classes though
BIO259 was the first time college really kicked in for work. Again, he always had good lecture slides and good information. You were able to watch the lectures back online, which was nice. I forget how the tests were but great teacher overall
Rosario is very clear, and uses real life examples to help you understand the material. This class really isnt difficult you just have to have motivation. You have to be willing to devote time to making flashcards, and use REPETITION for studying! Do a little each day, and make sure you understand in the moment what youre doing in class. Dont cram!
The lecture exams are very difficult. I was always very good at anatomy and his tests are not easy to study for. The way he explains the material in class could be a lot better. The test questions were weird, and the lecture slides had no information if you skipped class. Despite this, Professor Rosario is nice and truly cares.
Dr. Rosario was amazing. he explains things very thoroughly and genuinely cares about his students and wants us to do well. he gives extra credit when he thinks the class is struggling and asks students what he can do to help us. take him if you can! attendance is mandatory but all lectures and notes are on the class page.
Really great and caring!! Super nice guy and explains things very clearly
By far the best teacher ive ever had. You can tell he really enjoys teaching and I actually learned in his course. Exams are very straight forward, if you study and say attention you will do well. He also gave SO many extra credit opportunities
I had Dr. Rosario last semester for BIO110 and just finished having him for BIO259, and I would have him for every semester if I could! His lectures are extremely informative and match up well with the exam content. If you show up to every lecture and take detailed notes, you will do well. Dr. Rosario made hard topics easy to comprehend. 100/10.
Good at lecturing. Nothing was really unfair in terms of grading. Pretty good.
Dr. Rosario is one of the best lecture professors I have had! He is very nice and makes lectures engaging and easier to understand, the class average was on the lower side since he made the switch to in person exams but the exams aren't that hard if you pay attention He also gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities!
Dr. Rosario's amazing. People complain that the tests aren't online; they want to cheat. Sadly, you can't take exams in a lecture hall anymore without peers complaining to each other. Cheating discredits everything that professors do to ensure they provide good lectures. Dr. Rosario is excellent. Study hard, and you'll be good. Take no shortcuts.
Do not take this course if it's not required for your major or Gen ed. He just rants about information in the lecture slides when half of that info isn't even on the lecture exam. He also makes the lab exams and doesn't choose good bone and muscle models to use very confusing.
Nothing learned in lectures are on exam or he tries to trick you with completely different information.
His lectures were informative and he knows what he is talking about. But he tries to trick you on the tests. There us a lot of information on the tests he does not give in his study guide.
You will have 50 minutes to answer 50 questions on all 4 lecture exams. None of the material will be like the slides the questions are not definition based at all like the slides are. And they are open note but with that many questions you can't even look at your notes. So no point and they don't help.
His exams are nothing like the lectures. The information is completely different, and he doesn't help. It's a minute per question, which makes it really hard.
the lab practicals are overly hard. spelling counts, no word bank, basically pointing to something and you have to know the spelling and what it is. have to study 100+ terms for only 25 questions is insanity. studied for WEEKS for the exams and failed all of them. didn't matter how much i studied, the tests trick you up. sucks bc he is a nice guy!
50 questions in 50 mins for all exams = very hard. You can have handwritten notes, but MUST know the material very well. The lectures are enjoyable and he knows what he is talking about. The exams test you at a college level when he explains it at a 1st grade level. Be sure to read the textbook and go to class. Attendance is included in your grade.
He is a good professor and cares about his students. He gives extra credit for the test if the overall grade is bad. The exams and final are open-book, which is helpful, but students will run out of time if they rely solely on notes. He considers our feedback and tries to improve. He also has optional review days before the exams
Rosario is a good professor; he definitely cares about his students and their grades. His tests are a little bit difficult, and his lectures are good but not the best, but I would 100% retake his class and am going to next semester, but for a different course.
Professor Rosario is a great professor. The lectures are kind of useful, but definitely reread the slides and USE THE TEXTBOOK. He is very caring, responds fast, and gives lots of extra credit. Just make sure you understand the slides and the textbook and you should be good. He def isn't a hard grader, just make sure you study of you could do bad.
Rosario is a good professor and cares about his students and their grades. He teaches good but not the best so you have to go over the notes and make sure you study to get good grades. I would 100% take his class again and I am going to next semester but for another course.
Very difficult class but great professor. His exams are not too difficult but you MUST read the textbooks and show up to every class. The lab and the lecture are hardly related, so it is basically taking two courses. If you don't study for lab you will fail. He is very accommodating and nice and makes things as easy as he can with a difficult topic
hes a great guy. good at teaching, but if ur not reviewing every night this class will be hard. its lecture with a looot of content. tutoring. tutoring. tutoring.
Very nice guy. Will answer any questions you have, and usually bumps exam grades. You must go to class and take notes. Although, sometimes the slides don't give enough detail. Looking in the textbook definitely helps as well. The only homework he gives is textbook assignments which are very easy. He always lets class out 5 mins early.
people say A&P 1 is really hard but it's not. Rosario is a great prof. Go to class, do all the homework, counts for a lot of grade. Using the study guides is literally the key. I filled them out and repeated them over and over and never got below an 80 on an exam. Just put the work in and you'll be fine, don't listen to these idiots on here :)
Dr. Rosario is a really caring professor! The tests weren't super easy, but very manageable if you take the time to learn the material. Nice guy.
Dr. Rosario is super nice and his lectures are very informational. He is pretty chill and his exams are open-note. As long as you attend lectures and study, you will be fine.
