TAKE THIS CLASS! This is the best class that I have ever taken. He makes class interesting, and you won't want to miss it. Grade consists of 3 tests, which are easy if you study, reviewing articles, and 5 quizzes (which you get 100 just for attempting if you are in class).

Wasn't looking forward to psych, but this class was amazing! PwrPts posted online, no homework, and only a handful of easy quizzes. Tests aren't too bad if you study the material. Great class and I'm glad I took it with Ross!

Great teacher. Very funny. Very clear. Gives the test from the year before and they are the exact same. Tests are just 50 multiple choice questions. I was a chem. major and because of Dr. Ross now I'm a psych. major - Great class. Take him if you can. Easy A.

Professor Ross is great. He keeps class interesting and is very enthusiastic about the material. His tests are a bit challenging, but if you take good notes and study them, you'll be fine. Overall, it was a great class, and I definitely recommend Prof Ross to anyone.

This class and this teacher are awesome! He makes psych very interesting and his lectures are very clear and helpful. There are three exams and five quizzes. THe quizzes are just ways for him to check attendance every once in a while and consist of writing down your name on a piece of paper. AWESOME TEACHER!

He's really a great teacher, but when it comes to exams you might as well suck up to the T.A's since they write the majority of questions and most of take material not reviewed in class.

Just go to class and its pretty easy. I had to take a make up exam for the final, he asked me if I wanted the easy or hard version. I said easy. I think he was serious because it was very easy. So if you dont want to take either of the first two exams, don't because the make up exam is easy.

Great class, Great professor. He's lots of fun and the TAs are very very helpful. You don't need to buy the book. DON'T MISS A TEST! The makeup exams are so much harder than the multiple choice regular exams, and you have to take it the same day as the final. Quizzes are attendance checks. Take him!

I think that Dr. Ross is a great teacher. He makes the subject easy to understand. Dr. Ross is very interested in the subject and is willing to help you with the subject.

He is a very good teacher with excellent teaching methods. His lectures are interesting and he uses lots of examples to clarify confusion. Classes are not mandatory, however there are 5 simple quizzes during the semester, and there is a possibility they could be given the day you decide to skip. Only 3 main tests, one being the final.

Really good class. I learned a lot from it. The first test was harder than expected, but keep in mind the TA's make the test. I was able to do better on the tests after I went to the supplemental instruction. Go to class because he will give quizzes when attendance is low. All you do is sign your name and hand it in. Recommend if you can get him.

Dr. Ross is a ****! He has really interesting lectures, but has random quizzes which are solely to give those who come to class a few extra points. He'll ask questions like, what's my name, or todays date. Tests are pretty easy, minimal studying got me a B. All MC on applying knowledge of material.

He is great at explaining things in a logical way as well as halping students apply concepts to real life. He makes students want to come to class, because he doesn't take attendance regularly. He gives "quizes" to see who is there. Be sure to go to class if it's raining!!

Very personable, his General Psych class is easy. The tests are are multiple choice, but you still want to give them some decent study time. He gives 5 random attendance quizzes. His lectures are generally interesting and he actually has a sense of humor. He sometimes uses videos or recaps studies along with the lecture info. Overall he's good.

You don't have to attend class all the time - the class has at most 300 people in it. 2-3 exams, easy homework points where you can do quick and interesting surveys or participate in research/experiment projects. You don't really need the book, but he puts study guides in the back. Mostly depends on ta's.

I loved Ross! He taught the material well and fully prepares you for the tests with tests from previous years online. He gives pop quizzes that have questions like " Is is rainy or sunny outside today?" so that you come to class and he will give them when class attendance is low. Class was fun too!

By far my favorite professor. He keeps his lectures interesting & you usually get out 15 to 20 minutes early every day. He gives quizzes every now & then to basically check attendance with questions like "What class is this?" etc, & if you miss the quiz you have to write a paper to make it up. Exams are easy & you really don't need the book at all.

Professor Ross is amazing. Attendance is pretty necessary to do well in the class, as he does all his lectures based on PowerPoints he presents, but he always let us out early. He genuinely wants all of his students to succeed. Project points and quiz points are easy A's, but exams do require extra studying. I'd definitely take this class again.

I really enjoyed going to his class because he was interesting to listen to. You have to be in class to get the notes because often times he forgets to record the lecture on tegrity. You have to at least review a little bit for the tests but overall they are not that hard. Always got out of class at least 15 minutes early. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This class would definitely be easy if I had taken a psychology in high school. Ross's lectures move relatively quickly and are packed with content. I was in a T/TR class, which he continuously let out 20-25 minutes early. You definitely have to re-watch his lectures on Tegrity and go to his SI sessions.

This class is purely lecture and test based. Dr. Ross makes it extremely hard to not pass this class. Listen intently to lectures, but if you miss class, you'll be fine because all of the lectures are recorded. Dr. Ross offers loads of extra credit and will tell you exactly what is on the test.

His class was entirely lectures and most of your grade is based on tests and the final. I studied from my notes for the tests, but found that many questions on the tests weren't included in the lectures. Overall, lecture classes suck but Professor Ross is a nice guy, but his lectures can get kind of boring; he goes through a powerpoint every class.

TAKE ROSS. He is my favorite professor/teacher that I have every had. He is super knowledgeable in psychology and he will make sure everyone passes. You do not need to read the text as long as you listen and take notes in class. He is the sweetest man alive.

Homework assignments were easy 100% that really boost grade, in addition to his three tests. As long as you take notes on lectures, in person or over video, you're golden! Sweetest old man in the world!! Class was easy but boring because it was just lectures everyday. We got to use notes for each exam so the class wasn't hard. There were other small assignments too, but they were easy. Uses TAs, so he's not all that accessible himself, but they responded quickly. He was very nice during class and tried to make it fun

Dr. Ross is an amazing professor. Although lectures were really not mandatory I thoroughly enjoyed going to his lectures and learning. Not enough words in the english dictionary to describe awesome Dr.Ross is. His care for his students and psychology in general is very apparent in his character, his teaching, and how he interacts. He genuine wants his students to do well. Super laid back, makes his lectures engaging and clear, and even tells good jokes. Can't recommend enough!

I took abnormal psychology online during the winter. First off, he is very clear in the syllabus and provides a detailed itinerary for each day. I was able to finish the class a couple weeks early. He also responds to his emails in an appropriate time frame. I would 100% recommend him to anyone who needs to knock out a psych elective.

Dr. Ross was truly one of the best professors I had at SLU! All exams were open book and open note, but made us think critically about the subject. He is an amazing lecturer and made coming to class something I looked forward to. There are lots of opportunities for extra credit. I'm not a psych major, but now I want to take more classes with him!
