Nice guy. Easy tests if you study what he gives and tells you. Very helpful if you ask, sometimes he talks to us like we already know how to do what he is talking about(whoosh over our heads) Lecture with power points,drops lowest test grade,grades HW

IF chemistry is not your strongest subject, take this guy. He wants you to pass. He will help you during his entire office hours if you want to understand.

He will help you if needed, Power point can be downloaded and is very helpful. Grades homework and drops lowest test. He wants you to learn. If you just listen to him in cass you don't really need the book except for the homework questions.

I like this guy a lot. This is difficult material but if you ask questions, he will backtrack as far as you need to go in order to get it. He has a lot of patience, and that is awesome. I love the powerpoint slides. Wish all professors were like him.

Dr. Sakuta is very generous in his final grading. He rounded by grade to an "A" with my final avg.resting at 88.8% since I worked hard in the class! He takes your effort into consideration. Drops lowest test grade!

I learned more about chem1151 from dr sakuta than i did from my own prof dr roman gonzolez.because my prof (roman gonzolez)did not take the time to help me, i went on dr sakutas website for help. he has great powerpoint notes, reviews tests, extra credit and he reviews homework. He's excellent.

If you want to understand what Chemistry is all about; take Dr. Sakuta.in his class, you only need your text book for reference. All you really need is to study his notes, and do all your homeworks. 'A' is very easy to get in his class.

I was terrified of Chemistry, and made a 59 on my first test. Then I found out that Dr. Sakuta wants his students to succeed, and will help in any way possible. He actually met me in Burger King on a rainy Saturday to help! Take his class!! I ended up with an A thanks to all his tireless help.

I don't think it gets better than him for a professor. He commands his subject well and does not mind saying the same thing over many times to help you understand. Best chemisty professor at G.P.C. period!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken chem 3 times previous with other teachers. Then dropped the class due to lack of english or unhelpful or mean. Sakuta is none of those things. He is the best chem teacher in GA as far as I believe.

Dr. Sakuta is great! Teaches from powerpoint notes (book is optional not required). Offers extra credit. Reviews for tests and final. Drops lowest test grade. All you have to do is show up, pay attention, do your work, and you will pass with an easy A or B.

Dr. Sakuta deserves total respect. He respects his students and loves teaching Chemistry. He is very knowledgable and does and awesome job of presenting the material. He gives very helpful slides and goes over anything with you until you feel you have it. He is available to meet with you outside of class. I was scared to death of taking chemistry.

I took him for 1151 & 1152.I got a B in 1151 and thought that was pretty easy.However, 1152 I thought was a lot harder.he let's you make a cheat sheet for your test, but somehow nothing you need is on it due to his "trick questions". I was surprised allof his other reviews were good.

He is a great teacher. He explains everything to the T!! He uses powerpoint so you have all the notes and on his test there are NO surprises. Take HIM if you have to take A SCIENCE!!

Dr. Sakuta is a fabulous teacher. Do the homework. If you understand the homework, you will be fully prepared for the test. He also has available a test review that is helpful. This prof. is organized, knowledgeable and interesting. Chemistry is not easy for me but I have a high A in his class because he knows how to teach the material.

The only thing that you have to do to pass this class is to do homework. Answer each question of your hmk right because he grades them like quizes. Therefore, he is strict, and he do not accept any late work.

Very intelligent professor. Very helpful and respectful to his students he makes a strong effort to make chemistry interesting. Materials are well organized into slides that are printable from his website. Previous ratings have discredited him but you can tell by their comments that it's not Sakuta holding them back it is their own IQ's!

I saw some bad comments about Dr.Sakuta and it made me furious. He does not play favorites at all. He is fair, VERY intelligent, makes class interesting, always helps his students (in class and out of class), he repeats things if you don't understand. I did awful in high school chemistry, but Dr. Sakuta makes Chem very easy to understand and I am now getting all A's! I would definitely recommend him!

The use of the textbook is used but in class, this will be used on your own usage. Wonderful, very helpful, will try to help in any way he is able to.

He;s great! The material is fairly hard, but he goes out of his way to help you. He's easy-going and pretty leanient. He's very patient and takes time to explain things so that everyone understands. His tests are fairly hard, but he puts his previous tests on his website to use as practice tests, so you know what you need to study. I reccomend him!

I thought I would hate this class, but Dr. Sakuta made it very interesting and fun. He is extremely willing to help you to understand the material. Very organized professor and always prepared. The practice tests were exactly like the real exams and very helpful. I highly recommend this professor!

Please don't believe in two or three negative comments. Dr. Sakuta is willing to help each student. I took two chemistry classes and enjoyed every lecture. I can't say chemistry is easy. I had to spend a lot of time myself or with a tutor to understand the material. I am a nursing student now and really appreciate Dr. Sakuta's lectures & hard work.

Professor made organic chemistry very fun and interesting especially when the class is at 8 in the morning! he may talk extremely fast but he is also very helpful! i recommend this professor to anybody who wants to actually learn in chemistry!

This is a hard subject, but he made it fun & interesting. He did some experiments (even though it was a lecture class). He is very helpful & always willing to answer questions and/or go over any of the info. I recommend getting the book he suggest, because the practice questions are useful& it helps with his assignments.

He prepares his lecture very carefully. I don't think he is a bad teacher as someone said. Anyway, studying is depent on you. You can study well if and only if you want to learn.

Best chem teacher at GPC hands down. He even has the statistics to show that he gets the best scores on the standarized final. If you have to take this class then take him. The BEST professor if you need to take a Chem class. I don't agree AT ALL that he talks to you like you have a PhD. He does move fast but it is so at the end you have time for extra credit. If you need help with understanding he is very good about explaining it better and if you still don't get it you can go to his office and he helps you.

AWESOME TEACHER! He is alwasys in his office for extra help and will take the time to explain it over and over. Do the test reviews off his website and you will do well on the test. If you have to take chemistry, take Dr. Sakuta. I am very familiar with chemistry so I know what to expect and he delivered. He makes the material interesting and is very clear in his presentation and with what he expects you to know. He gives extra credit opportunity for the tests and his homework prepares you. His class was boring but overall was very helpful. was not mandatory to do mastering chemistry. His test was really hard. Drops the two lowest test grade, and is a easy to get a B in the class. Great Teacher! He breaks the material down to its most simple form. He gives homework with every chapter that is similar to the worksheets you do in class and the answers are in the notes. Mastering Chemistry is an easy way to study and get extra credit for the test. Takes five test and drops lowest two. Easy A or B with a little effort.

This teacher is AMAZING!!!! I would recommend him to ANY and EVERYONE!Hes one of them teachers who are actually there for the students! Class was awesome. I didnt like chemistry very much but nowI love it. He does a great job explaining things and his slides are awesome they pretty much help you to be prepared. The test are challenging but if you do the homework and study you should do fine. Trust me this is one teacher who doesnt want to see you fail. :-)

Dr. Sakuta cares about his students,if you have a question he is always ready to help you. Gives powerpoints. Chemistry 1151 is alot of math. The tests are EASY if you study.

Dr.Sakuta is an excellent teacher. Crystal clear power points and funny. Makes you really understand the context and lessons, rather than have you just mindlessly copy the material down and have little very retention of the knowledge. Would like to take for all my Chemistry classesif possible.

Dr Sakuta is an awesome professor. He is consistent, passionate and makes things interesting. He makes you think and his tests are semi-hard but you do get extra credit points from mastering chemistry. I took him for Chem I and II and he's one of the 1st professors I am really going to miss.

Dr. Sakuta knows his stuff. The thing I liked most about his class is that he made his own slides and was very organized about his lectures. I've had teachers who go off subject and keep rambling, but he sticks to the topic. His homework and tests are pretty challenging, but it needed to be that way since the material was so hard. He helped me.

Okay I'm gonna keep it simple Dr.S is the best teacher ever...Lab attendance is absolutely necessary in order to get credit but he is always in class, always ready to help, he does not give pop quizzes in lab, does not make you stay the whole class period just come in turn in last lab report listen to new lab intro do the lab and go. EASY+Hot Prof.

He is a really sweet man who really breaks down the material so it is easy to learn and is very willing to help. If you show up for class and take notes then you should do fine. Tests are bot difficult if you pay attention in class and homework is only assigned online through OWL and it is not too much work or anything.

He is the best teacher i have ever taken. He gives an option for extra credit for every test. Also he will put in grades that you think you will make on future assignments in order to give you your possible grade.He is your best bet for chem 1151, 1152 and also the labs for both courses. Oh and DONT waste your money on the text book !

Great Professor. He really makes everything clear and gives a a lot of time to do the hw for each chapter. All the answers can be found by using his notes, which are also online.You don't really need a book. All the material on the test, he covers and it is easy to get an A with some work and studying. He was a great professor. Took him last Fall. He is fast paced though, if you dont keep up or pay attention you'll get left behind. But if you focus in class, do your homework, and buddy up with classmates for help you'll do just fine. Try not to miss any classes, it'll probably hurt if Chemistry is not your strong suit. But the class was fun!

Chemistry was never one of my strong subjects but he taught it beautifully! I got him for my chem 2 class this semester, I can't wait to start learning again!

I had too many classes and I could not keep up with the material but he's a great teacher and explains clear but grading is very straight forward its either wrong or right.

Sakuta is very passionate about Chem but his teaching style which is basically like he's having a conversation with people who know the subject like him. You have to study, he gives lots of EC but with that you still have to study your butt off! I survived the class by forming a study group with people in class to help me. Nice & helpful professor!

1152 is nothing like 1151 totally different. Sakuta is always open to help but he can't break things down any simpler than his Chem talk so don't expect it to happen. He gives tons of opportunities to help your grade out so take advantage cause you'll need them for sure. Best thing you can do is STUDY, STUDY, STUDY! Do all homework, EC assignments.

He explains everything, provides notes online, works practice problems in class, gives extra credit for each test- could not ask for a better teacher. I'm not really into Chem, but Sakuta makes it interesting and easy to understand. There are packets and study guides that really help, but you have to actually do the work. He gives an extra exam that replaces an exam grade. There are tons of opportunities to bring up your grade and his class is enjoyable and not boring at all! Do the work and pass

I absolutely have the WORST relationship with this class. I've taken it twice before. This is hands down the greatest Chemistry professor you can take! He is always available for help on the material. Quick grading and email responses! The best online lecture notes! Drops the lowest test score! I only wish he was teaching CHEM1152 course!
