really good teacher. teaches like his life depends on ur understanding of the concepts
this guy makes you fall asleep. he has to take some presentation lessons and become more uplifting.
he was very helpful
Excellent math professor, he will go out of his way to help a student understand the material. He also gives review sheets for his exams which are extremely helpful!
I took this course in the summer, and Prof. Samra did a very good job of keeping up the pace without leaving ayone behind. The clarity in his teaching made all of the concepts follow each other very easily.
A very nice person, very clear, the only problem is that he is copying the book on the board. I took the course over the summer and it was not too hard. Maybe because it was a short summer session but i didnt stop writing, like history class.
He makes fun of people in the class. Tough grader. He is going very fast through the material and it is very hard to keep up with him
He is speeding through the textbook, spending no time on any one topic. He's more concerned with getting through the syllabus than having the class learn anything. He doesn't curve.
not bad
He is a perfect professor. He has perfect teaching methods. Do not hesitate to take his class.
Excellent lecturer. Very clear and fair.Don't hesitate to take a class with him.
his class ok great if you are looking for an easy A and learn at the same time take his class.
Worst professor I ever had, boring and lazy. Always rushing through every lecture. I felt as though I was in a writing intensive course because all he did was write definitions. If your not an excellent math student do not take this man you will regret it.
Great Prof. Easy A in his class. He had 3 tests and a final. The lectures were so good that I didn't even open the textbook. He assigned homework every class, but he never checked it meaning few did it. Take him.
Although the class is easy, he's so rude and very mean. Unapproachable. He's not a very nice person.
Samra teaches very well but it can be extremely boring. I do recommend his class only because he is very clear with the work but he is boring.
I really liked him, but at the end he started going faster and giving more and more information that was on one of his exams and the final. He is really helpful if you show you are interested. The tests aren't too crazy as long as you go to class and practice the problems.
he is a great professor!
Great Professor! Good teaching skills, and is always willing to help. He is also very nice personally.
i luved samra's class, he's very intelligent & funnny; he's a nice prof. & is nice even outside the classroom; altho the class was very easy he made it fun; just do the work & u'll b fine
He is really nice and explain the class very well. The class is boring because is MATH ok. Study the review sheets before the tests and ask him any question and also go to the math center and am sure you'll pass this class with a good grade.
He is a competant professor and is very willing to answer questions you have before tests if you go to the math center. His tests are fair and he does hope his students do well (even if he does seem a bit bored by teaching the same stuff over and over). He's one of your best bets for 125, hands down.
He is a good professor and is very willing to answer questions you have before tests if you go to the math center. His tests are fair and he does hope his students do well (even if he does seem a bit bored by teaching the same stuff over and over). He's one of your best bets for 125, hands down.
Great Professor! Explains very thoroughly, with good examples to help students understand material. Exams are fair--review sheets really allow one to prepare well. Does not collect homework, but doing it can really help your grade.
He's very helpful. He's easy if you actually understand the problems(after all it is math)Explains really well. Don't even have to go to the math center as long as you understand the problems in the text book. He's really fair. He's the best to get that A or even an A+ in math(it's true!)
An excellent professor as far as the math department goes. Extremely nice, helpful, clear. Lessons are structured and extremely beneficial, didn't do a single homework because they were so good. Never opened the textbook. An easy A.
He's a great prof.He explains all problem very clear. If you aim for A you have to work hard on the exams. However, even though you mess up one exam, you still can get an A.
I hate math, but he made Statistics 113 so easy and not the least bit scary. We only used the ActivStats CD. There are 3 exams (lowest grade dropped), final and a 8-10 pg final paper. Come in, do decent on the exams and paper and do the hws and he is GREAT! I highly recommend him!
I HATE YOU SAMRA haha Why cant you teach Cal haha. Seriously guys he is THE BEST professor in the world, if not than maybe one of the best. Hes the head of the department. He knows what he is talking about and his class is sometimes boring but is barable. If you have him you should feel honored. He was a pleasant profs to have. Thank You
I am horible at math, always have been; doesnt matter what kind of math it is but samra made statistics easy to understand. He is very helpful, he even helps you through email if you dont want to ask questions in class. He is one of the best professors at hunter. Fair grader and gives curves on exams, 4 exams plus final and a project
GREAT Professor, i've hated math for god knows how long, but this guy makes everything so simple, and he pretty much spoon feeds you the exam with his review sheets, if u take this guys class and do bad u honestly have nobody to blame but yourself
best prof ive ever had!so helpful and friendly...i recommend him to anyone...if you have the chance take his class amazing prof.
He is a very good professor. You will not need to open the textbook since his notes and review sheets will be sufficient to master the class. His exams are extremely fair. I would definitely recommend to take him for calculus.
He is a good professor, especially considering the material is not stimulating. Very possible to do well if you put in the work, but a good chance of doing poorly if you fall behind early. I strongly recommend him!
Not too hard if you copy his notes and do the hw.
Really good lecturer. If you are decent at math and a good student (go to class, take good notes, do the homeworks, do the review sheets), you should have no problem getting an A. Be warned though - even the best teacher in the world can't make Calc understandable for some one with really weak math skills.
I was really lost in calculus and pre calc in High school, but after taking pre calc with him, i understood a lot. He explains well, and the online homework is a great plus.
I had him for Pre-Cal. I would not take him if you don't have previous experience because he dose not explain well. But, he is a very nice guy and is willing to help. Don't buy the textbook - he says it?s needed for the HW, but you can get the software online. Grrrr.
I definitely recommend this professor. If you are looking for an A+ in the course, take him because the review sheets that he gives are not identical but VERY similar to the exams given.
Very sweet man, clear teaching great at answering questions, breaks important info down so you can understand it. even with a very large class took the time to work w/ everybody. Which, I think, is saying allot. I definitely recommend him. :)
Very good professor, there's a lot of memorizing (which you eventually forget), but I still think I learned a lot from his class. Take him!
Very good professor!!! Gives plenty of examples in class, is very thorough with the notes he gives you, and provides a review packet before each exam! Pay attention, do the homework and you can easily get an A.
Seriously, the best math instructor i have ever had. So so so clear. He gives so many examples in class and gives you time to solve them in your seats and after goes over them in class. He does his job so well! The man knows how to teach! i loveeeeeeee Samraaaa! =)As long as you keep up with the homework, study the notes you will get an A. take him
One of the best professor's I've had. Overall, a really nice guy.
Really nice professor, great notes, average amount of homework, and fair grader.
To put it simply he is one amazing professor.
Professor Samra is incredibly amazing as a teacher. He makes everything so easy to understand, his examples are very clear and easy to follow, his tests are very true to his review sheets (which are insanely valuable if you want to do well), and the homework is fairly easy. He's very calm, funny, and easygoing but he knows his stuff really well.
He is the best math instructor I ever had. He prepares you well for the exams and with him you barely have to use the textbook. I highly recommend him. He will make you love math!
Overall, a very nice person... exams are fair and comes straight from the review sheets. Definitely take him if you're a math major :) He's really easy-going and helpful! Not an easy A, but it's possible!
If you are good in math I highly recommend Samra! He moves very quickly so if you are not good in math I suggest getting a tutor. The material itself is difficult however Samra presents it in a clear format. He gives you all the tools to do well in the course such as review sheets for exams and extra credit. 4 exams and one final. Take him.
I am amazed at all the raving reviews for this guy. Honestly, he's not the best. He teaches very fast, and is hard for you to keep up. If you're weak at math, you better get a tutor. Otherwise, you're assed out!!!
Very helpful and detailed teacher. He gives many examples on how to do problems. Would definitely recommend if your weak in math cause he'll make your life easier!
This is an excellent math professor! Really straight forward and very intelligent. Prior to this class I was horrible in math but this professor is awesome, gives extra credit and his test are so fair and ....TAKE HIM! If youre taking pre-calculus you must take him hes awesome and you will get extraordinary grades!
Excellent Professor! I would never dream that i will love math so much!Never was good at it before. Thanks to him, I started to believe in myself and do really good now!He explains very clearly, writes everything, and never needs to say "Psss" in class, coz everyone is listening to him. Highly recommend him!
Never thought I'd be saying this but... I love math. Samra makes this so easy to comprehend. Practice exams are almost identical to the real exams. He just picks out a couple from the practice exams, (same wording) just different numbers. When he lectures, he gives you multiple examples, answers you r questions thoroughly. He is a very fair proff.
Great professor! He will make you fall in love with Math. He's very helpful. His exams are like his review-sheets (very easy). & He also gives extra credit. I got an A in this class. Take him! You won't regret it!
Take him, he's worth it. He's kind of cold as a person but as a professor he rocks! Explains everything clearly, you can ask as many questions as you need. There's homework due almost every week but it's really helpful. I never studied additionally - problem sessions and the hwk was enough to make me prepared. Got an A. Don't hesitate! Take him :))
One of the best math professor I have had. He is definitely the best pre calc at Hunter. Attend every class (as any curse in math) do the HW and go to him with questions. He is very helpful and very good at explaining the materials. I he taught higher level of math I would structure my schedule around him.
He's not easy! You really have to study hard to get that A which should be expected for every course. However, he's an outstanding professor..his lectures are crystal clear. He gives 4 in class tests and 4 online quizzes (2 attempts). Work hard and you can even get an A+ and if I got it then anyone can get it. Just study a lot!!!!
It may not seem like it at first, but he's very nice and helpful!! He's also very patient with his students! He makes a lot of little mistakes, so he doesn't have the i'm-the-teacher-so-i'm-right attitude. A little bit serious looking in the beginning, but he smiles at the end of the semester!!!! :D
He is not so easy, however calc 2 is not an easy class either. Took him during summer, there were no review sheets for exams, so it was kind of hard. Don't expect easy exams, unless he gives out a review sheets, still need to study a whole lot, he is good in explaining, but not helpful in grading, no curves at all, so study and study and study...
great professor! i recommend him, he makes you go to class because there are alot of notes to take! if you miss 3 classes your grade drops so dont miss any. he drops a test :) i wanna take him for calc but he only teaches in the summer. take him he is also head of math department so he knows what he is doing!
Best Precal professor. Take him!!!!!
To sum up what everyone is looking for: - He is clear with what he is teaching, but moves extremely fast. If you are a slow learner especially in Math avoid this professor. Mandatory attendance, 4 tests and a final. Good luck.
I'm sorry but this is the first class I've ever failed in my entire life i swear he rushes through his work and he is not helpful or understanding.
Definitely recommend his class. Chill professor, explains thoroughly, and answers all questions. He gives extra credit for every test. He is also funny and my friends and i loved his class.
He's an decent teacher but he has an attitude problem. He treats his students like children and doesn't give them much respect. Take your time on tests, he takes off points for the smallest things and doesn't give much partial credit, good luck.
I'm not great at Math but this professor, despite what many say, provides such clear and helpful guidelines for success that it is impossible to not do well unless you dont put the effort in to help yourself. Beginning hald of the semester was a piece of cake if you studied a bit. Second half, not so much but study and you can still get 100s.STUDY
The perfect professor!
Awesome, awesome professor. Math was never my forte, but this man made such abstract concepts, seem so simple, and best of all, UNDERSTANDABLE. He does move a bit quickly, but thats how it is in college, the professor has to get through all the material, because the final is departmental.
He is an AMAZING professor. Math is not my strongest subject, but he made me love class. Though he moves pretty quickly, he explains everything clearly. He respects his students and if a student doesn't understand something he will go over it again. He gives extra credit and study guides before every exam. If you review the study guide you're gold.
Such a great professor. I would definitely take his class again. He makes the materials seem easy as he explains very well. The review sheets he gives before the exams are exactly the same as the exams with just differences in the numbers. He also gives extra credit assignments for the points to be added in the exam.
Do not take this professor for Calculus. He makes the class way harder than it should be and does not give any room for any extra credit. Your grade is only based on exams, which he grades very strictly. Do not recommend.
Definitely failed one of the three exams, considering it was a summer class. I felt like my grade was bumped up quite a bit. And guysss, go to class for real!!
He basically just does problems on the board and expects you to follow.
Amazing professor. He explains concepts very clearly and gives review sheets and extra credit before each exam (4 tests and a final). Tests shouldn't be a problem if you take good notes and do practice problems. Definitely recommend this prof!
He makes learning Matrix Algebra easy because of how clear and organized his lectures are. Everything follows in a very logical format, and he precedes all practical applications with proofs that help you better understand the underlying concept. He's a great professor who also has a really fast turn around on assignments. You should take him.
Mr. Samra is a must take for Pre- Calc, if you listen to his lectures and takes notes you are pretty set for all the tests. His review sheets basically lay out the tests, and he is always up for giving extra credit. Homeworks are easy to finish, which helps your grade a lot. Overall, he was an exceptional teacher.
Professor Samra really cares about his students. He gives review sheets prior to every exam, offers extra credit assignments, and is always available to talk during his office hours. He answers all of his emails promptly. I'm an English major and he has inspired me to explore my interest in math. Just study hard and you'll ace his class.
I took matrix algebra with Michael last fall. His teaching style can be a bit dry but does make an effort to be clear with the concepts at hand. His exams are based on his homework and review sheets. Do well in the beginning and you're guaranteed a good grade.
Absolutely the worst one credit class I have taken. It is way too time consuming for a one credit class. I would rather take a 3 credit class than this one credit. He doesn't even bother explaining what is going on but throws mathematica at us to learn on our own. Never again!
If you're looking to take a Pre calc class, go for Samra! He gives review sheets prior to exams, offers extra credit that goes towards exams and explains things really well during lecture. If you take good notes (usually everything is on the projector), and study, you'll easily ace this class
Great professor. He makes the problems seem simple and he fully explains how to find and solve in a multitude of ways. Very kind and funny.
Samra ruined my college semester. Offering very little personality and a cold demeanor toward sensitive situations, Samra offers an unnecessary difficulty at an extraordinarily fast speed. He is inconsiderate toward students personal dilemmas and acts like a high school teacher gone dictator with his little bit of power. DO NOT TAKE! He is no help.
Professor Samra is a gem compared to the Hunter Math Department. His lectures are clear, he is more than willing to clarify. For summer Calc 1 90% was test 10% Homework. He gives 4 test including final and if final is higher he drops an in class exam. Grades the tests fairly, offers extra credit and tests are similar to his review sheets. TAKE HIM.
Samra is a very good professor who will clearly teach you the math material but isn't going to inspire you or push you in any way. It's two hours of math lecture and it gets boring, like very boring but that's ok because he is actually a really good teacher. Very clear and is willing to take questions even in a large lecture hall.
If you understand everything on the review sheet he gives out appx. a week before the exam, you'll do well. No surprises and he gives extra credit for exams. Although there is always a lot of HW due on MyMathLab, and it's kind of hard to keep track.
He ZOOMS. There is no way to possibly keep up with him it's almost 2 hours of non-stop writing and no processing time to actually understand what he is saying. Gives about 5-6 points of ec per test and will stop to answer questions, decent guy. But unless you're amazing at math on your own, you won't get what he's saying cuz it's too fast.
Professor Samra was quite possibly the best professor I've had at Hunter. He's detailed and clear in his lectures. He gives a review sheet before each test that has every problem you will encounter so there are no surprises. He also gives EC on every test so do them! I highly recommend you take Samra if you struggle in math like I do.
He goes super fast but will go back if you ask, no tolerance for cellphones, gave us great review sheets before tests and ample time to study, you can leave early after tests, stay on top of the homework and the tests should be easy
He is a decent professor, definitely one of the better math professors at Hunter but he is severely overrated. His pre-calc class is extremely hard and he zooms through lectures but will stop to quickly explain things if necessary. His exams are hard but he does give good review sheets. He takes off many points for the smallest mistakes.
Best professor I meet in my freshmen yearextra credit and review sheet will be given before the exam. Very nice and gentle person
Best math professor ever. If you take good notes and do every problem on the review sheet then you should be getting 100+extra credit points on his exams. The questions on the exams come directly from the review sheet.
He was great. Classes can get boring because all he does is write a lot of notes on the board and everyone copies. Then he gives you a problem to do on your own while he takes attendance and walks around. He gives you everything you need to get an A. Exams come directly from the review sheets, there are no surprises with him. Take him.
A decent person but his lectures are way too fast. He continues to do a lot of lessons within one day and will only stop to explain if you ask to. He grades literally everything so make sure you clearly write out every step or else points will be taken off. He does give review sheets but make sure to study and review all your notes carefully.
Professor Samra goes very fast as he only writes and writes. He is nice and calm but he is probably the hardest grader I have come across. He takes every points possible off during exams and it is discouraging as a student.
Ah I used to love this guy. He taught me so much pre-calc, but when it comes to testing, too bad you wont ever be able to apply what you learned to get a good grade. Forget to put in an x in the answer? Thats minus 5 points. Graph not perfect? Minus 4 points. When I tried to talk to him about it, he rudely pushed me off. Never taking him again.
Decent professor, explains stuff very well and in a simplified way. It was just difficult to focus in that setting with a hundred other students + no windows or personal space. He is also a bit of a harsh grader BUT the review sheets he gives are literally a copy of the exam so if you know how to do EVERY SINGLE review problem, you're set for 100.
As long as you take all the notes he writes on the board, ask questions if you don't understand anything, and do the reviews he gives you, you're set for the homeworks and exams. Better to have a study group right before exams with people who actually understand and will explain it to you in a simplified manner (it was me), and you'll pass
He usually speeds through the lectures, only stops if someone has a question. If you don't have prior knowledge or experience taking pre-calculus before this class, you might struggle to keep up.
Awesome professor! The class is super straightforward, there's only 3 homeworks the whole semester, and those homeworks are enough to prepare for the exams. He tells you exactly what types of questions to expect. Extra credit questions on exams too. Very nice guy. Class is mostly just writing for an hour and 15 min though.
Great professor, I highly recommend. The math professors at Hunter College are known to be pretty bad but Professor Samra was not. For most of the class you will be writing notes but all the notes will help you for exam. There is homework due a week after each class online. He gives a fair amount of extra credit which makes this course an easy A.
Even though he basically teaches math by providing examples of problems, he was very straight forward. EVERYTHING ON THE REVIEW SHEET FOR THE TEST WAS ON THE TEST. He is kind of boring, but always answers our questions. I got a B, but it was mostly on my part. He did his job correctly.
Okay, so he is a great professor but be prepared for taking notes non-stop. He teaches in a way that ensures you understand the material, solving several problems with the class as well. His review sheets help A LOT for his exams. He is obviously very passionate about teaching his students which I respect a lot. Enjoyed the class a lot.
Samra is a ok/good professor. Make sure you come in ready to write because he will write notes for days. If you have a question stop him he has no problem in explaining . Hand in hw basically the same concept as test. Take points off test for little errors. If you have your own way of doing problems he wants it done his way especially on test!
He's such a cutie and i look forward to class every morning. He explains things so well and everything that's on his exams comes from his review sheets.
worst math teacher ive ever had. never explains anything and writes too fast. everyone in the class was lost!!! oh, and his textbook was $100 + the website he used for so much homework. And tests are 80% of your grade.
Samra writes too fast and every lecture I go to of his turns into me buying another notebook from Staples because he writes so much. Absolutely no one in my class had any idea what was going on. He does offer extra credit and gives out study guides. If you're on your phone, he will blast you in front of the class.
I've just gotten my grades today. The reviews are truehis lecture consists of literally copying down notes. Non-stop. Although his lectures are a little enduring for two hours because of the constant note-taking, his requirements to get a good grade is extremely transparent. If you do the homework and focus on his review sheet, you will get an A-!
The reviews are true... His lecture consists of literally copying down notes. Non-stop. Although his lectures are a little enduring for two hours because of the constant note-taking, his requirements to get a good grade is extremely transparent. If you DO the homework and FOCUS on his review sheet (A MUST), you will get an A- and above!
Probably the best math professor you could ever have. Show up to class, copy ALL of the notes, do all the homework for practice, and do his extra credits and review sheet for an easy A.
He wasn't bad. He looks intimidating but is actually a sweetheart. The material is dense and the class is packed to the last minute. Not once did he dismissed the class a minute early. Go to the math tutoring if you want to pass. You will definitely need extra help to understand. Oh, and he is such a tough grader. It is not an easy class for sure.
His overall score is so misleading, he is one of the worst profs I've ever had. He just stands at the front of the class, copies down his lesson plan, and reads what he wrote. No explanations, not even on the study guide. And he uses Lumen, which means you pay $30 for him to not make or grade homework and rely on youtube to teach you.
This is one of the greatest professors at Hunter for math. Write down his notes. Do the homework. Watch the video lessons that is provided with the hw subscription. You're guaranteed a good grade as long as you pay attention and ask questions in lecture. He responds fairly quickly to emails. He gives extra credit. He is very understanding.
Before COVID, going to class was a drag. He is so boring and makes you write over 6 pages of notes back and front. But because everything became remote, everything was based on Lumen. If you were able to watch the videos and answer the hw correctly, you would be able to pass. The trig did get hard at the end but overall it was a easy course!
The material he teaches is NOTHING like the material on the test. The video lessons found on LUMEN, which is where we do the hw and exams is far more reliable than him. Most times when you try to reach out to him for help he would reply to you with VAGUE answers. The material is self teachable and manageable. He seems nice, but he is useless.
there is no classwork, just hw & exams & everything is on lumen.. hes a quiet guy, always straight to the point in his lectures. he gives extensions when needed. but you definitely need lots of practice bc it gets really hard during the end. make sure you attend all his lectures bc they will help u understand better.
You are graded based on your homework and exams, all on Lumen. There's a total of 5 exams (including the final). So basically, your average math class here at hunter. However, he does actually care if his students understand the material and replies to his emails fast.
The class consisted of three tests and one final. All of the questions on the exams were pulled straight out of the homework; know how to do the homework and you're set for the exams. The lectures themselves were long and content-heavy. There were no breaks and you copied down notes the entire time. He's pretty nice and emails quickly.
Honestly, I feel like these reviews hype him up too much. He is mediocre at best. He skips over his work in class making it difficult to understand the material and he expects you to learn from an online textbook. The first word that comes to mind to explain him is lazy. He is nice but it seems like he does not care about the class.
I took this class online so the lectures were optional to attend since attendance wasn't taken. The amount of hw was manageable but could become challenging at times. The exams were online and on the same website we do homework on. So if you understand the homework you will ace the exams. I would definitely say take this class.
Professor Samra is decent at teaching. He writes a lot during lectures but you don't have to pay attention to his notes, screenshot them and just make sure you understand the examples and you will pass. The homework and tests have the exact same type of questions from the lectures and are open-book. The class itself is pretty easy, too.
If this course hadn't been online, I would have failed. Awful professor, doesn't explain anything or even try to help, literally just read notes and called it a lecture. I studied my ass off and only got a B+, no thanks to him. To students that are awful at math like I am, do not take any of his in-person courses or you will not pass.
Very relaxed and helpful professor. Only gave 3 homeworks throughout the semester. He gave review sheets before each exam and the exams always followed the type of problems that were on the review sheet. As long as you show up to class and do minimal amounts of studying, you will do well in his class. Great professor.
His exams are easy. His class is easy when you are already good at math Half of the chapters was connected with Math 101, So if you already took 101, this class will be easy.
He gives 4 exams and 1 final exam. He also gave us easy extra credit for the exams. We also had homework on lumen. He creates the exams himself.I like that he explains everything and goes over the steps more than once.
This class was super easy. He respects, if you want to do maths using different ways them him, he won't penalize you if you don't follow his technic.
You're basically getting graded based on the tests he hands out which is 80%. You can't use an scientific calculator during a Trigonometry class which is baffling. I wouldn't recommend to take him.
He's a good professor and makes content a lot clearer and broken down than most calc professors at hunter, also really nice and understanding, so I can't really blame him for my grade, however the material went very fast cause it was a summer semester and it was really hard to keep up
He moves way too fast through his lecture notes and writes notes by hand with a blurry projector displaying them. He also moves too fast through the curriculum that when the semester was nearly over we finished. Tests are really easy but he refuses to let students out early when he finishes lessons which makes the curriculum ultimately too short
He is not that bad. He gave us the practice problems for each exam and the answer key for the exams. Do not skip class and try your best in this class!
The overall class grade is based on: 20% - 3 Homeworks/ 80% - 4 exams, final exam (worth 2 exams), lowest exam grade dropped. Homeworks and review guides prepare you for exams, which include definitions that are T or F questions. Unassigned practice problems from the textbook will BETTER prepare you. Highly recommend Professor Samra for Math 160!
Gave extra credit before exams. Very understanding, I had surgery and wasn't able to attend class for 2 weeks. Replies to emails fast, WRITES A LOT WITH A LOT OF EXAMPLES. overall, good teacher wasn't too overwhelming.
Taken in the Spring semester. 80% of the grade was tests and 20% was homework graded on accuracy. The professor explains concepts very well and is happy to answer questions from the students. He gives the students everything they need to do well, including countless practice problems. It's very test-heavy, but that's just the nature of the class.
I dropped this professor early on. I am not great at math and with the way he teaches I knew I was going to struggle. He is very rude and acts like a know it all. Only take this professor if you are amazing at math, can handle the fast pace, and lack of explanations as to how to solve problems.
His tests are graded fairly, but that's about it. The only way you're able to benefit from lectures is by asking him questions, otherwise he copies from the textbook, and he doesn't share his notes at all. You need to self-teach using the ungraded homework.
The professor moves quickly, but his lectures are still worthwhile. Tests are manageable if you stay on top of the material. Using unstuck study and the free textbook helped me prepare well.
Overall for my personal experience I'm not very good at math. I really should've dropped the class early on but I wanted to try and get a C since it's for my major requirement. He moves too fast in his lectures so instead of actually learning I'm playing catch up with notes so I tried to teach myself and even went to tutoring but nothing helped me.
This is genuinely a great professor for this class because his lectures are very clear and he is always willing to pause the whole lecture to review any question if you are unsure of how to do it. He gives practice tests that are EXACTLY like the real ones, which is extremely helpful.
Will answer questions and slow down if you ask him to. His gradings are fair. He provides some extra credit opportunities so take advantage of that. His exams reviews actually represent what the exams will be and they're pretty short. Just attend lectures. I was able to pass the class with an A even though I suck at algebra and trigonometry!
boring lecture where he reads off his notes and just writes it down on paper for you to copy the tests are boring and long, class felt like hell.
