Dr. Sanchez is new to SAC, but he's a good professor. If you like group work, this is the guy to take. You have two papers throughout the semester to do with a group. Those papers are critical for your grade. Make sure to get a good ensemble as well! I'm taking him next semester!
Dr. Sanchez is an awesome professor,he pretty much doesnt care what you do in class as long as you do your work.His lectures do tend to get boring after a while,but he does try to make them interesting by joking around with the students.There are two major debates,in which,count as 60% of your grade but they are done in groups.
Mr. Sanchez was a very good instructor. I went in that class not understanding govt. and i came out actually wanting to learn more. he is an awsome teacher and the class is very easy. only 2 papers and they are done as a group. i would take him again if i had to.
Dr Sanchez is an excellent instructor. He tends to make the lectures very interesting and he obviously knows what he is talking about. There are 2 major papers and are weighed heavily but you get into groups to do them. Just make sure your group members aren't flakes. Take him if you want to learn something.
Sanchez is a good teacher, you will pass the class if you just do the group work projects, we only had two people in our group and we knocked it out with an A. Notes are a little crazy at times.
This class is easy no book required just show up work on projects and bam you passed.

Good teacher but can be lazy at times. Work in his classes is mainly group work. Two major group projects and 3 tests decide your grade. Stay away from lazy procrastinators in the group projects. Do the assigned reading and the study guides he gives out and you will be just fine.

I strongly disliked his class. He didn't explain the group projects to us at all and it seemed that even when we asked questions about it, he still wasn't coherent about them. The tests were appalling; nobody passed them. No matter how many times I e-mailed him, he never replied. Having no textbook is nice but his class is no good.
So Not Hot!! he splits everyone in 3 groups & gives a indictment that you have 2 prove wrong, right, or are the jury who decides who won the arguement. No Textbooks, he sends you 3-8 40pg articles via email. He doesn't explain very well, but he's ok. he doesn't take attendance, but try not to miss to much. a lot of extra work on your prt. read all!!!
he is pretty cool one on one. b/c he is intelligent, hes a conspiricy theorist at times. i thought it was intresting. but ya no one passed the tests. and i mean no one. and i studied all night. the lectures although interesting, arnt really helpful in answering the reveiw questions. since when he lectures messy, he tends to get side tracked,
yes, his test are impossible and no one passed them....but if you (like me) just do really well on the projects and do the extra credit he offers than you will be fine. I never once touched the book and I got a B
This professor is really hard, his tests are impossible to pass, he doesn't care if you fail or pass. I tried sending him emails to him but he never replied back. All the notes he gives are a total waste of time. Find a new professor fast!!!!!
He's really hard. not understanding at all. you do group work and if your group drops or doesnt show up he has no sympathy on you at all. he expects everytthing to be done and turned in when he says no matter what the situation is. and he pretty much just talks about the same stuff over and over and tries to relate every topic back to his views.

Sanchez pulls no punches but he's really helpful. you can get all the test info from the lectures and he posts the notes online! Class averages on the tests were low, but they didnt seem that hard. Plus, on our group papers, he gave them back graded, and let us revise and edit to get a better grade. Whenever I needed help, he made himself available
He is very hard but if you go to class, he will remember during finals. Do all his assignments excatly in the order he has stated if not you will loose points. Tests are extremely hard the highest grades were always around 77, and he does not give you any hints as to what will be on it.
Really fun professor. Knows his stuff, he has a doctorate yet maintains a level headed sense of teaching. His reviews help very much. Take 2-4 hours out to do them each and you'll do alright. "A"
the hardest and worst class i have ever had. the notes and the reviews are not helpful what so ever. majority of the class failed all the exams. i didnt learn anything!
Dr. Sanchez is a decent man but his teaching style is unique and not for everyone. He'll teach through personal opinion, life examples and satire. Let me say it this way: If you took AP classes in HS, you'll be fine.
Lectures alot, there is alot of reading in the book and online. Usually have a take home essay the day before the test.

he has peferences over students! i went to talk to him once to talk about what could i do to improve my performance! and he kinda laughed at me, he told me that if i coulnt pass that class, to forget about transfering to a big universtity, that i was simply not cut for it!! I dont recommend this teacher(if you can call him that) at all!!
He is a funny laid back person, but not such a great teacher. His lectures do not help on tests, yet he lectures a lot. If you don't like to read a lot, don't take his class. Kind of a boring teacher.
I absolutely loved this class. I feel like I could walk into congress and win a debate after his class. Not an easy course but you will get out of it exactly what you put into it. Dr. Sanchez was very helpful and his test reviews are all you'll need to prepare. I wouldn't recommend him if your a slacker because he won't give you anything.
Dr. Sanchez is really cool as a person.But as a teacher his tests were hard and he talks fast in his lectures, also can be demeaning to students.DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS UNLESS YOU ARE A POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR.I got a B+ in his class, but there is no excuse for getting anything less than an A in any GOVT class.Take J.C. Horton and get an easy A+.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. YOU CAME TO THE WRONG SCHOOL TO STUDY POLI. SCI. except for Dr. Rogers, All of these POLIS SCI TEACHERS ARE USELESS. I am switching majors to avoid the biased and down right bitter attitudes circulating in SAC's poli sci department. You guys all really suck.
This class really sucks. I can't believe they let this guy teach. Save your money and brain cells. looks elsewhere. Go to a different school if you have to. I concur with the previous---- DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
I would not reccomend this class. It was very difficult to even pass a test. The class average for the first test was a 52. He was cool, but talked very fast and wrote sloppy on the bored and did not try to interest the students. You have to go to class to pass, but even if you do it's hard, try to get another professor.
Classes are mainly for discussion, quality is dependent on the quality of students. He will give some lectures that are pretty much word for word out of the book, so read the book. All you gotta do is read the book and get your papers in on time. He will not motivate you to do your work, so if you need a baby sitter this professor is not for you.
Tests are extremely hard. His reviews are very vague. Talks really fast in his lectures and is rude to some students. I don't even know how I'm passing his class. Has a good sense of humor now and then, thought.
Doctor Sanchez comes to class like he doesn't care at all. Hits tests are extremely hard and he barely covers the material in his lectures and class. I find him to be bias and very critical on many topics. I highly suggest you dont take this class. I had better attendance than doctor Sanchez did, yet im still on the ease of passing.
if you have difficulty with understanding politics DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS he teaches too fast, incoherently, and tests are impossible to study for, he is incredibly biased and told me that i would fail and that i shouldn't even bother going to a big university. complete jerk.
i just finished taking his class and yes it was hard but i pulled a B. you really have to take notes and read read read!! his tests are worded a little hard but if you study the study guides and READ you should be able to pass. he does offer extra credit and i would reccomend doing it. i learned a lot in the class and was hardly ever bored!
If you do bad in his class its your fault. all you have to do to get at least a B is read the chapters do the homework and do the extra credit paper and attend his lectures. I did those things and got an A
Took his class online. Professor wouldn't help you except to drop. He doesn't answer your questions and he doesn't update his material. Very lazy professor in my opinion. Don't take him if you can avoid it.

He's OK in my opinion. His tests are EXTREMELY difficult and are nothing like the practice exams he gives you prior. The discussions are stupid and everyone who answers them tries to get in a debate over the internet - seriously HOW STUPID? If you're really strong-willed and can do this stuff on your own then take him. He's not very helpful!!
If you looking for a good online class this is a good one. I took him last semester and as long as you participate in discussions and complete assignments you'll do great. This Prof. is very helpful and makes class interesting with discussions. But beware its not a cake walk you need to read your text
Dr. Sanchez is a great professor. He is extremely knowledgeable in government. If you do his reviews he posts on blackboard and do the 5 assignments he asks you to do, you will pass easily and with a good grade.

The class is ok, the professor is very difficult, not very helpful. He is very knowledgeable but not very understanding, if you are having trouble w/the class or material,he makes u feel like u better not ask anything. Very Poor pple skills. The warnings about his tests being hard are true. Make sure you do the reading and take lots of notes. His tests are off of the reading. I took the class in Summer Session I so it was fast paced. If you do what you need to do you can pass his course with a decent grade even with his hard tests.

Professor seems perpetually annoyed. Lectures are dull unless he's on a self-proclaimed soapbox, when he uses class time to indoctrinate students on his extremist political views. Tests are worded poorly. Class assignments offer little direction and he seems to grade harshly and with bias, offering little feedback or explanation.
This class is so hard! It's like when you're in class it's not bad, but when you take the test it's like OMG! it's so freaking hard. His tests are worth 80% of your final grade and assignments are worth 20% even though the assignments take like so many hours to do. The grading system is so not fair. I would not recommend him if you want 2 transfer.
It's probably my fault that I have no interest taking government since I believe its all corrupt, with that aside I think Mr. Sanchez is an alright teacher, his exams were not that hard. I prob would have made a better grade if i actually studied which I hardly did. If you are not interested in govt, don' take him, if you are he is a alright guy.

This professor is crazy!You better know your work and go over it with a fine tooth comb, nothing in the review is in the test and alot of questions are on chapters that you have not been assigned.Tests are extremely difficult and he is really hard on discussions.Take this class only if it's your major!
If you take a class with him, do not take any others! You will spend all of your time trying to figure out what he wants. Some of the questions on the final were not even covered in class! I had a 4.0 until this class. I worked so hard, was 2nd in the class and got an 85! He even lowered my final grade claiming that he miss-calculated the points!
I wish I had read all the reviews before selecting this class. He's missed alot of classes and his review sheets are ridiculous. Each test covers hundreds of pages of reading and studying. He told us on the first day that his class was difficult. The class wouldn't be that bad if not for his lack of teaching skills.

Professor does not teach. Hundreds of pages of notes combined with extreme lack of enthusiasm and respect for students. First statement by him of first class was "Who are you? No one. You are students at SAC." When students do not know an answer, he will not help, and takes more time to belittle intelligence rather than provide an answer. Stay away
It is obvious after 1 semester in this mans class, that his passion is NOT to teach. Mr. Sanchez went out his way to make the whole lot of us feel like fools. There were belittling comments made throughout the term, and never was there an attempt to TEACH any material. Sanchez gave up a long time ago. Plus, multiple absences with NO heads up.
I took this class online& it was the best class I that have taken online! He list the quizes for the month all at once this way you can get a head! Students are allowed to re-take quizes and He gives great reviews for all his test! The notes for the semester are all set up from the 1st day to the last. Very intresting & interactive class!

Hard and not very helpful. I asked him through email once if he offers tutoring because I'm struggling and he did not respond. His test reviews are very vague and you have to basically memorize every thing you read in order to pass the exams. He offers no constructive guidance to pass his class just vague tips. He is smart though.
took an online course. the assignments are extremely long an unreasonable. The syllabus is useless because dates and assignments are different from what is actually due. Teacher takes at least 3 days to respond to emails. Disappointed.
The most difficult class I have ever taken. I took the online class and It was a nightmare. His class schedule is very unclear and the deadlines are mixed up. The assignments are long but hardly count for any points. Most of all, the exams are ridiculous. Each exam has between 85-95 questions.Some questions are not from the book.Lot of reading.
this professor is very arrogant, some times does not allow you to speak. doesn't allow enough time to turn in your work. his exams are extremetely long, 80 questions! he is very rude too. i could say alot more but all i can conclude is that i would not recomemd anybody to take a class with this teacher. you would really regret it.
Class was a little overwhelming at first, but as soon as i figured out that if you read the assignments and do the quizzes that are available with the book, that and his quizzes are enough to be able to get an A in his class. Not nearly as hard as some people complain that it is.
If you take the time to read the assignment and do the online quizzes that are in the book and do his online quizzes which he allows you to take multiple times. the class is not that hard. I did horrible on my first test and still passed with an A. The people complaining are lazy. He let me come to his office and go over my old tests for final.

Dr. Sanchez may come across as difficult and opinionated at times, but if you get passed that and use ALL the resources available to you (he has so much through his class web page) and read the book there is no reason you can't get at least a B.Don't email if you want a fast response, but he will take time during office hours to help you. Trust me.
I am agreeing with most of the comments on here...hard class! Even harder exams plus time-consuming assignments. ?'s on exam sometimes are from future chapters not yet read. He is extremely hard to get a hold of and you never know what he wants. He says know review sheets for exams but even after practically memorizing them I still get low grade.
Mr Sanchez is an intelligent but highly opinionated man. He has a genuine interest in the class material, but openly criticizes and insults students with differing political views. Tests are difficult to prepare for unless an enormous amount of time is spent memorizing the chapters, powerpoints, vocabulary, and other resources.

Terrible teacher. Doesn't care about his students, if you go for help his answer is that you're clearly not a college level. No matter how hard you study, he conducts his quizzes using the most trivial, useless details of Federal Govt. Don't bother with him if you want a grade higher than a C.
Probably the worst class I have ever taken. There's a quiz after each chapter in the book which fortunately you get to take at home (don't count for much of your grade) but an exam after every 4 or 5 chapters that you have to take on campus and hardly uses anything from the book. Really hard to study for and almost always got a low grade
Dr. Sanchez is a genuine person, however when it comes to teaching since he has his doctrine he is superior. The quizzes after each chapter are not timed and open book/notes an easy part of the grade. The exams reflect on the quizzes rarely the study guide so be prepared. He puts all the slideshows he uses online. Definitely not a easy class.
I doubt if I can recognize him as an instructor. Very un helpful. One of the worst instructors I ever had in my entire school life. I wouldn`t take him again.
Do what is expected for an A. Be respectful to others around you in class. Workload: quiz over each lecture, midterm, final, and extra credit. He keeps you informed on the latest news to keep you aware of what is going on in the community and will tell you like it is. Great class and highly recommend Dr. Sanchez!
Why all the negative feedback? This is college people and these are basic courses! Take the information given and apply it! Lectures posted, read the chapters, show up to class, do the work, and give opinions. Easy A! He is funny and keeps you intrigued!
The mans style of teaching is garbage. Makes you do pointless activities in class, and then expects you to have the entire book memorized. His main point of the class was to teach the cases of government history rather than talk about how our government actually works. Doesn't relate to his students. Brutally boring. Worst teacher I have EVER had.

Professor Sanchez was really cool. His class is a typical college course so expect to spend some time outside of class to read and take the quizzes. Gives about three papers to write the more detail the better and the tests can be pretty tough so study hard. Overall great professor!
Tok this class online. Not difficult, but not super easy! Read your material, go over his powerpoints, study and assignments and quizzes should be easy.
He is a very tough grader and quizzes and exams are very specific, if you do not study you will not pass. He gives extra credit opportunities at the end. He's tough and has strict rules on late assignments and excuses. Sometimes he is not very clear on assignments, asks for a lot of different details.
Make sure you read and figure out how to retain a whole lot of information. This course is not impossible, but it is not set up for people that are not naturally inclined to learning this type of thing. If history, government, politics or any social science is not your thing, this class will prove that and make you work for it.
3 essays roughly 500-800 words. Just make sure you provide all the details needed for the criteria and you'll be good. 4 exams and 10 quizzes. Exams are pretty long roughly 60-80 questions each. All multiple choice though so not bad at all just make sure you have the power points open and you'll be good. Online textbook $50. Overall, good class.
After reading the chapters and powerpoints, the quizzes and test consisted of fun facts. Most of the questions are in his powerpoints. Essays are not clearly explained.

Extra credit includes having to go to Austin to the Capitol.
Everything is taught based on own views. I can say I did not learned anything at all. Not very clear on when things are due. Expects you know know everything. Not a good class to take for someone who does not really know much about government. Test questions seem different than test. Power points are not clear. Attitude of teacher is rude.

I took it online for three weeks and made Bs on the exams but did the extra credit (Trip to the Capitol) bringing me up. 460pts came from easy Qs in text. Sanchez has been teaching this class for a long time, and it shows. By the mismatch between his assignments and the updates to the textbook, the broken links, and the frequent screw-ups like chapters expected on a test and horrible surprises of chapters actually on a test. Also, his grammar is so bad it makes test questions hard to understand.
4 exams, a cumulative final, and 2 writing assignments. Gives study guides, but theyre not helpful. Half the exam questions will be from material you werent assigned to read yet. Many questions are also about random details . You cant review your 4 exams for the cumulative final. Youll have 1 day b/w the 4th exam and the final.

LOTS of reading assignments. You are expected to read the textbooks, which have questions that are included in your grade. Then he assigns powerpoints and MANY articles to read, along with videos to watch. He does provide test reviews, however, I found that they were not extremely helpful. I devoted a lot of time to this class to pull off an A.
The absolute worst. TOUGH GRADER. Tests average 100 questions and 60 minutes and the questions are long and impossible. Study guides consist of mountains of specific information from the textbook, pdfs, websites. many test questions aren't on study guide. Teaches his beliefs and tells you how to vote, shut up if your beliefs don't line up with his!

Took the 4 week course. Class grade avg 75% on exams, each exam has between 50-70 questions, and most of the ?'s are based off of graphs, news articles off the internet, and the PPT he posts. Book is useless for tests. Coming from 30 hours with a 4.0, this class was a shocker at how a portion of the tests were based off Tex. Tribune web articles.
Don't take this class if you can help it. The tests are absolutely nothing like the other work and the reviews. This class doesn't need to be as hard as he makes it.
Horrible professor who puts very minimal effort into his class. Lectures have poor grammar that make the topic difficult to understand. Exams are composed of questions that aren't covered in lectures. Do not take.
I would reccommend another computer for this class because of how much stuff you 'learn" not being on the tests. but the teacher is willing to work with you, just make sure you follow his guidelines to a t.
No book for class makes it much harder to learn and understand. Exams have little to no questions that are on study guide. PowerPoints are extremely long and has brief information.
As a person he is a nice and understanding guy. The homework assignments were tough and long. There was no actual interaction or teaching, more like read this and here's a test for it.
I think the only decent to not so great, but not bad was that this professor will answer back to your emails, but very useless manner. He kept my score low, even when it came down to passing an assignment, it seemed my grade was getting lower, like WHAT?! Very confusing teacher, very confusing class. He cost me my financial aid.
He has no empathy for you as a person. He failed me despite us agreeing on giving me an incomplete while my partner was in the hospital for an emergency stay for weeks for this past summer.
This was a fully distance online class, and not to mention it was also a 5-week session. I played myself because I was just trying to get this class over with. It wasn't too hard of a class, but there were a lot of assignments because it was a fast class.
