Lectures were really good and he gets really into the material and does tons of examples. Since it was anatomy the class was very material heavy and memorization heavy but he does a really good job to help you memorize it by giving mnemonic aids and real life examples. You don't really need to go the lecture but I still did it was interesting.

This is an intro anatomy course and I think Michael Scarlett did a fantastic job teaching the basics. I wish the course would be more spread out and include more practice or quizzes to test your knowledge, especially because it is a joint course with the lab. However, Michael Scarlett was a really good resource for any questions or extra material.

Excellent prof. Really engaging lectures, and super willing to answer extra questions or offer extra help. Very approachable, and makes an effort to get to know his students when he can. Michael is extremely knowledgeable in his field. If all you want is to know the criteria to pass a test, you won't like him, he teaches his topic in depth and tries to make it applicable to life. Read his slides, take good notes, pay attention and you'll do amazing in his course. Most of the 1.0 reviews are people who didn't listen enough.

He is very passionate about what he teaches. He connects the content to real life examples and really cares about student feedback. The content is hard to grasp at first as with any physiology course but he makes himself very accessible for additional help. Make sure to use the resources he provides for lecture content and stay on top with the labs

Michael Scarlett is not a good prof, this is the second time I have had him, and he does not get any better. His slides are very confusing and full of too much content. He does not prep you well for tests and talks way too much, and hard to follow what he is talking about.

Dr. Scarlett was a pretty solid professor, but he did go pretty fast, relying on the textbook and slides heavily for the course. Keeping up in this course is mandatory, and he helps with any questions you may have which helps. I recommend using flashcards to study and read the textbook for parts you don't understand.

I didn't like him in 1st year courses but he taught KIN200 really well. He does go on tangents, but the expectation in this class is that you are caught up and studying every lecture at least weekly. He doesn't test on random discussions and he is very clear about what will be tested. At least learn the content before you complain about the prof...

he goes through lectures very fast, sometimes we'll finish one chapter and start a new one. he's a super passionate guy in terms of teaching this course and had lots of energy for an 8am class. but overall, the course is not hard. as long as you keep up with the lectures and review the material, it is quite a straight forward course.

All I can say is, if you have this man as your professor for 101, pray. He is a nice guy and clearly knows what he is talking about, but he is NOT a good teacher. All the learning I have done in 101 has been at home. On top of this, his lecture slides are MASSIVE and 80% are completely unnecessary, making finding the important slides brutal.

You can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches. Unfortunately, he is one of the professors who are too smart and can't translate that knowledge in a teachable manner. I spent hours after every lecture teaching myself the class material. His office hours do help(tip: compliment his music taste if he is playing music during lecture hours)

Appreciated his energy, knows what he is talking about. Took me a bit to get used to his pace, explains concepts very well, emphasizes important things. Gives tidbits to those attending lecture. Very clear on what will be tested, straightforward test questions. Keep up with notes/reviewing and you'll do good. 2 midterms/final, all non-cumulative.

Michael Scarlett is a very good person however terrible when it comes to lectures. He speaks off topic to often leaving little time for actual content, Slides give either too much information or not enough. He often refers to future classes and goes off topic. In KIN 101 he would reference 103, In 103 he references 200.

Besides him somehow finding a way to flex how fit he is, he lies about his midterms and the content that's gonna be on it. 5 chapters on the midterm? Light work. Bro said he'll have an even amount of questions per chapter but chose a really niche topic and basically made it the whole midterm. Do profs like this want their class to succeed or what?

Overall a good professor. However, you NEED to keep up with material because his lecture's cover lots of material and picks up very early in the course. Frequent revision of current and past lectures are needed to succeed. To maximize your grade, study everyday and go to office hours. Other than that getting above a B is manageable.

His slides are super busy and it's hard to know what to take down as notes and what is just "nice to know" or examples. I recommend reviewing notes and textbook often and going to class to succeed.

You can tell Michael knows what he is talking about and gives various external resources outside of class to help students succeed. His lectures are typically more content dense but to no fault of his he gets shit on by first year undergrad students for teaching "harder" courses. Overall great dude who is overhated by many students in the faculty

Number one tip if you have Mr. Scarlett is to keep up with lecture notes. Michael is a very passionate teacher which is what makes him so great, he has a reputation for going by lecture slides very quickly, but it is a difficult course so your responsibility is to stay on top of material! I highly recommend Michael for any of your courses.

Lectures are insanely long and dense, up to 75 slides in a class. Also not very engaging with very minimal breaks. THIS IS FOR KIN 436 (there is no option to put in KIN 436) If you're looking for the most incompetent professor, Scarlett is your guy. Has a fair bit of knowledge but has worse teaching skills than my Gr. 1 teacher. Loves to assume you know what he's talking about. Exams are horrid. Tough grader and provides feedback outside what is required
