best lectures ever,talked about the importance of testing lsd in the 60's for over an hour, very cool guy

Good teacher, lots of lecture was fairly simple class as long as you followed along with the syllabus.

He is a exceptional perso. Wonderful instructor, and you will enjoy his class if you take him. If you read the notes and attend all the classes, you will get an A. Take his class.

I loved the class. So much, in fact, that I moved on to other SSCI classes. He looks a little like Tom Petty and talks a little like Mr. Mackey (South Park), and as long as you do the work, you're fine. The work isn't hard, but if you get behind you're screwed. I definately loved the class.

Great professor. Intelligent with a great sense of humor. I wanted to go on the trip to New Mexico with him but couldn't afford it. I would hang out with this guy outside of school.

He's a great teacher. He's very passionate about teaching. He warns you, if you attend his class everyday, you will get an A. (and you do!!)...he made the class interesting..the two and a half hour class went by so quickly.

He's a great teacher. No one ever asked questions in this class because he explained everything with excellent clarity the first time. If you get the opportunity to learn from him I suggest taking his class.

I LOVE HIM!! He is hilarious and intelligent. He explains everything well and is interesting in the process. He does remind me of Mr Macky on SOuth Park...ummm kay is a common phrase. This class is perfect for someone who doesn't like to read, becase Micheal is through in lecture.

I took his classes in 1997 and he's the best at explaining difficult subject matter like picking daisies. He's one of the best teachers I'v encountered, so if you have the blessing of taking his classes, do so. Hello professor, do you still have that laptop with all the wires hanging out of it? Glad to see you're still teaching, now I am too!

Very easy. However, always was 10-15 minutes late and made whole class wait around on him. He is not interesting, will make you bored as hell with his lectures. Reminded me of Joe Dirt.

Dr. Schumacher is very laid-back, his class is not very hard, tests are somewhat easy if you study his notes and handouts...his projects are really easy, as long as you finish them on time and present them, you will get full credit for. oh and he gives a lot of extra credits.i do recommend him because you will like his class.

Great Teacher! I took Mr. Schumacher before in Psyc and just loved the way he teaches and how laid back and down to earth he is. Thanks Mr. Schumacher for giving a great experience in Psyc and Cultural Diversity.

Mr. Schumacher is the greatest asset that columbus state has. He is a very helpful, easy going professor who is very open minded. He is very entertaining and his jokes are hillarious. He seems to be a very cultured individual with willingness to express and share new ideas to students. Nice Work! ("uuuhhhh")

Very interesting, funny, I swear hes always high. Information boring but if you come to classes and turn in all the little projects (if you do them you get an A) you will do well .

I had Dr. Schumacher for Psy 100 this summer. He is easy going. If you study and turn in you paper you will make an A. I have him this fall for ssci 101.

I went on the SW trip with him and Eric N. from Geography and 10 other people, Mike is great and fun. Loves the Natives!! Great trip, you should really go if you want a once in a life experience.

The topics and overall class is a dry one. Very boring. Teaches the class so often, he forgets what he's taught that week and sometimes repeats himself. Overall a fair professor. Text book is a CSCC compilation, that he doesn't use too often. Go to the class and take his notes, you'll be just fine

I would highly recommend taking his class. He makes the classes funny and entertaining. He takes the time to explain what he wants and will answer any of your questions. I really enjoyed his class. If you actually USE the notes for tests, you will get an A. I didn't use them all the time and still got a B.

good teacher overall. very hard tests. like extremely hard. i wrote everything he said and paid attention and i still did poor on test. funny guy. and book is not neccesary

This class wasn't bad, sometimes lectures were boring but for the most part I enjoyed it. He has a good sense of humor and has a way of making the class more interesting.

Very pleasant and kind man overall. Easy going, funny, helpful. TIP:need to read at least half the chapter he would be doing so you can follow him during lecture. He's a powerpoint guy so printout powerpoint pages with lines (handouts-3 per page when you print)for easy notetaking.

This was the easiest class ever! i mean he spells everything out for you on the power point. u don't even really need to show up...just study the power point word for word, then come on test days....easy A

Pretty good teacher. Easy A as long as you study. I thought he was great until I had other teachers at CSCC... but he'll get ya the grade.

Very easy class. You can print off his power point slides and he basically makes the tests from those. You dont need the book at all. He is pretty funny also.

Fun professor, really attempts to engage the class in discussion and not just lecture. Tests are about average, not too easy but not impossible either.

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. He uses power point to teach. Very cool guy though, I would recommend. Attend the class, pay attention, study your butt off for the 4 quizzes he gives. No HW. Just 3 quizzes and a final and a paper are your entire grade so MAKE IT COUNT!!

Great professor. I advise anyone to take his course. Just be prepared to actually study and come to class. He does not offer extra credit and your whole grade will bank on 4 exam grades. (a few small assignments too) He went out of his way to assist me, and is doing so now, with a matter completely unrelated to his course. Great professor andperson

Mr. Schumacher is an incredibly funny teacher, he has a very dry sense of humor that may not appeal to everyone, but it keep class interesting. You get study guides for every exam and they have everything that will be on it laid out. You do need to dedicate time outside of class to studying. He gets an A in my book (:

I took Psy1100 we did not use the book at all. We used online slides. He tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests and the tests were multiple choice. No homework except one small paper to write. He was funny and a good teacher, I recommend him!

Very good professor in a very interesting class. Everything is very clear; you know exactly what will be on the exam. The lectures are Power Point based, with videos and activities scattered throughout. This was a great class and I wish I could take it over and over again. Professor Schumacher: please teach more Psych classes!

He's nice and plays funny videos. You don't need the book but do look at the powepoints cuz they help. Great teacher!

Extremely easy to take. We had six tests, all multiple choice, and one very short paper. He is very lenient with absences, and he posts all PowerPoints (including terms and definitions) on BlackBoard. Very chill, and willing to crack a joke with the class.

Online class. Read the chapters each week and you'll do well on the exams.

Michael Shumacher conducts a clearly structured class that is conducive to learning. his slide shows are well constructed and explains concepts thoroughly. his class is a great introductory course and will prepare you well for future psychology courses.

I really enjoyed this class and Prof. Schumacher's lectures and power point presentations made passing his exams a breeze. Pay attention, take notes, show up and you'll do fine! Professor Schumacher is laid back and quite funny.

This man is brilliant. His lectures are interesting and he knows what he's talking about. He is very well-spoken with the material. As a student, I highly appreciate that. Though summer semester is a great deal shorter than normal semesters, he did an absolutely incredible job. I only with that he also taught sociology.

Professor Schumacher is fantastic. He not only gives you power points to go off of but he give me great examples for whatever we are focusing on that week. He's matter of fact but still has a way of making the class interesting and fun. The YouTube videos and examples are great! Wish he was Psych professor going forward.

Schumacher is awesome; he gives great examples for the concepts that are introduced in the class. He gives a list of concepts that are likely to be on the exams. If you study those and pay attention during lectures, you should be fine.

This is my favorite class. Though this class is on a Saturday morning I love coming to see what cool things Mr. Schumacher is going to educate us on. He speaks very loud and clear and it keeps me engaged. I love tis guy!! Very Satistfied

Make sure you study for the exams!!! I got a C on my first exam and all A's on the others, and I still got a B. He's funny with his lectures and he's kind when you approach him.

This class has lots of reading and a homework assignment with every chapter, 3 discussion boards, 3 exams and a final. Professor Schumacher lays out everything in the syllabus and allows you to work ahead if you want to. The outline for the departmental final is a great study tool

Professor Schumacher has a lot of knowledge on the subject matter and he is able to bring humor into the classroom which always helps with the learning process.

Lectures have humor in them but a bit dry at times. A lot of YouTube videos are watched. No homework, so unit tests are the only components of your grade. Clear expectations, no surprises.

His exam was very hard, even though they are multiple choice. And you will not get feedback! You just have four exam total in his class, and there is no quiz and homework!

He's a pretty funny professor. Lots of youtube videos and other interesting videos. Only took 4 tests overall and even though they were multiple choice, I didn't do too well. I did manage to pass though, but be sure to study. I only opened the textbook once and that was when I was studying for my final at the end of the semester.

I took Psychology 1100 online and had Professor Schumacher. It was a pretty easy class as long as you watched the video lectures and kept up with the homework on blackboard. His homework and discussion boards are created to ensure you are studying for the exams. The class was easy and felt like I learned a lot. Just make sure you put in the effort.

15 LearnSmarts to do (80 or so multiple choice questions over each chapters material), 3 exams to take plus a final, and a lot of reading. This class is very straight forward and the professor is very fair with his grading. Don't fall behind. Get ahead, stay ahead, do all the LearnSmarts and you'll be fine.

Lectures are slide show based and you can obtain the information from. not going to class, his lectures and explanations are extremely helpful and insightful in remembering and retaining the information. He is rather funny and his tests are reasonable. It helps to go to class because he has three extra credit questions on his test which is helpful!

Lectures are based on power points. 4 tests+ final and a short paper. Tests are easy. No homework. He is funny. He is not good with keeping up with the syllabus though.

He uses power points but showing up to class is very helpful to gain a better understanding of what's being taught. Gives a lot of visuals to help you understand ie. videos & some hands on items he brings to class. If you study what's on the reviews you will pass. As long as you understand what was taught his final exam is a breath of fresh air!

I took PSY 1100 online and I can say that his class was easy. Just make sure you do write down all definitions and take notes while you do the homework and watch his lectures. His class was extremely well structured very easy to find everything. Grades come from discussion board, homework, and exams. I would highly recommend him.

Lots of PowerPoints and lectures but all around great professor! If you keep up with online work and use flash cards or other methods for studying, this is an easy class to pass.

PSY1100 was very easy. The professor explained everything really well, and if you missed class you could easily catch up by reading the textbook.

I took Intro to Psychology Online and it was a really interesting course! I love psychology and I was engaged the whole time. There was a calendar outlining when assignments are due (every Sunday typically). It was very straightforward as long as you read the textbook chapters and did the work. Would recommend reading a few pages everyday.

Very personable guy. Incorporates interesting examples and stories that go along with what you're learning. Printing his PowerPoints and using Quizlet helps a lot. As long as you're actually listening in class, you'll have no problem passing. Cellphone use is his biggest pet peeve, so just avoid it. Would def take his class again. 10/10.

I had this class online, remember to go between the online book and blackboard to complete assignments. I have a dislike for this, only because its easy to miss assignments which I missed one. Everything is easy, just study the voc. and the people that's mentioned in the book. Never had to email or talk to him, everything was clear

Very straight forward class, schedule is given at the beginning of the semester so you know what is due and when so there are no surprises. Gives lots of tools online to study from. Each week is broken down into 1 chapter that you focus on so it's not overwhelming. Professor Schumacher is very easy to get ahold of and is a funny guy.

Mr. Schumacher was an amazing teacher to me. His lectures were always interesting and he always knew how to make us laugh. He had so much energy and his class definitely wasn't one that you would feel bored in. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, our class switched from person-to-person to an online format. Rest in Peace Mr. Schumacher, thank you!
