Mr. Scott is a very nice teacher, he makes the class fun, and easy. Most of his tests were take-home, all except for the first test and the final which were very easy. An easy A.

He is a wonderful guy. He has no problem answering any of your questions. He will take his time to show u step by step for whatever reason. He is not difficult and u will do good in his class.

Mr. Scott is an Awesome! teacher. He made accounting seem really simple. As long as you do the work and practice, you should pass the class. Start your Annual report project as soon as you get it. That way you don't have to worry about it at the end

Hilarious guy. He cracks jokes all the time to keep you awake. He's pretty helpful when you have questions. His tests are a bit challenging cuz he doesn't let you have notes, while there are lots of formulas and they're hard to remember. But all the problems on the tests are the problems that he goes over, no tricky questions. Just study hard.

I have completed more than 90 units in GCC. But I have not seen such a perfect instructor. He is the best in hole GCC. I got four "A"'s in different accounting courses. He is not only a good teacher but also he is a real human being.

Starts out an easy grader then gets progressivly harder. Out of 3 exams he drops one and curves. There's an annual report due that can help raise your grade, have him review it to score well.

Simply the best accounting teacher GCC has to offer. He knows his stuff. I got an 87 my first test, 94 on the second. i got to drop the third and did well on the final. The reason why people are giving him bad ratings is the fact that they slacked off. i dont know how you can get a B or C in his class. Thanks mr. Scott.

One of the coolest teachers ever...take him and don't be absent....test questions are from his examples and lectures. He is just simply awesome....

He is very educated with the topic but can be arrogant at times. His tests are confusing and worded differently then they are in the book. He tells you which topics will be on the test. His tests consist of journal entries and calculations, mostly. He curves the tests. He drops the lowest of three tests, but keeps the final exam grade.

The man knows his stuff. He is not some egghead university type, he has real world experience behind everything he will teach you. He is a fair grader. He is also generous with extensions.

Very down to earth guy. You can tell he is much more of a corporate guy than an educator. Drops your lowest test out of 4 and if you work hard on the only project/hw he assign, you will pass easily.

Scott is a great teacher! He is really easy because he doesnt complicate the material and gives you simple problems that help you understand the concept. He doesnt really assign much homework besides the annual report project which you have the entire semester to finish. He isnt a hard grader on his test. I wish he was teaching 102 :(

Amazing teacher! I took both accts with him and waited for 2 years to take the 2nd one with him again. He knows how to teach and is a very honest person and will tell you the way it is. Tests are easy and he uses the book and explains everything he always have office hrs may be the person who wrote bad stuff could attend his office hrs. Take him.

Mr. Scott is too awesome! After a third repeat I finally scraped up a hard-earned C. He helps out and clarifies with a dry sense of humor. 3 tests, a final, plus a group project. All pretty easy as long as you attend class and simply pay attention. Easy grader, drops the lowest of 3 tests(not final). Just wish he was much more flexible than he is.

I took both accounting (101 & 102) with him. he really explains materials very simple. the tests are like those practices that he did in class. also, he grades easy. don't hesitate to take his class :)

He's a good guy and knows how to teach. His tests are hard and you must show all work so that he can understand your answers. He doesn't help you much with your test. He just looks at it and says that you got a problem wrong and doesn't really take the time to explain it thoroughly. The group project is tedious work and was annoying.

Prior to attending this class, I was afraid I won't be able to survive an accounting class. Right now, it's my favorite class! Prof. Scott is funny & witty. Best professor I have had in this school! He goes through each chapter and only tells you what you need to know for the exams so you're not overwhelmed by so much material, so the tests are fair. Answers questions in detail . He makes class fun, dry sense of humor but very enjoyable and he tells a lot of stories that pertain to the subject.

Sure, tests are a but difficult but if you put in the effort you'll get a good grade in the end. Makes lectures really interesting and wants all students to pass; he's not there to fail anyone! Just studying the lecture notes and make sure you attend class!!! Great professor overall

His class is an easy A or B if you do the online homework and online Learnsmart assignments. Otherwise, you will fail his class. If you fail a test, ask him to re-take it. He will let you re-take and bring up the test grade to a C. He gives allot of extra credit.

Laughed my way through the semester, jokes were in between lectures, keeps you alert to important facts. Blows you away with his knowledge about this course. I took Scott for Acct 101 over winter and realized he's the best accounting professor at GCC. He truly cares about the subject and is knowledgable about it. So I had this professor in 101, and he was a good guy. He does grade on a major curve, but he makes his tests unbelievably hard. He does give some extra credit, but he rarely tells you about the major ones like accounting club. Honestly it all depends on the amount of time you have to memorize the book and his on board probs. Dry humor is off the top. Hilarious to the max with his own life experiences that become examples of the class assignments. Expect his own laughter upon his dark image. You'd NEVER expect a more intelligent and funny guy as Mr. Scott. Looks can be deceiving.

I really recommend taking him to students with accounting major. This professor is very knowledgeable. His test are hard but if you study hard, he will give you a good grade. Don't forget to do Extra credit and go to accounting club which counts as extra credit too.

Michael Scott is a very good professor. The book is essential and I read most of the chapters before the tests. Attendance is also necessary since big part of his tests are based on his examples. There are overall three tests, final, and an annual report project. He is very generous at the end of semester with the final grades since he rounds them.

Professor Scott is one of the best professor I took at GCC. He is extremely funny and he is very interactive. He tries really hard to get the students to pay attention. I understand everything he says. He is very concise and interesting. Before he begin lecture he discusses about real world business problems and I love how he provides examples.

Accounting with Professor Scott was a pleasure. I had accounting 101 during the summer and I got a B but didn't put in much work if I'm being honest. There is an annual report project that took me about two days to do, but other than that the lectures were pretty chill. He only tests you on things he actually talks about. He's a super chill guy though and is inspirational to business students.

Took his class in winter 2017. Overall there were 3 tests, a final, and annual report project. He drops one of the lowest tests. It took lots of time and effort to do well in short semester. Only thing is the tests are lengthy worded. He tells you which problems will be SIMILAR to the test. I got a B but an A is not impossible. HIGHLY recommend!

He's gruff and sarcastic, but he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to learn. I failed accounting before so I was so scared of it, and he made it so much better to learn. Very clear teaching style!

Honestly a great Professor and class. He is a really funny Professor with great stories about his career. His tests are hard and you need to study a whole lot, but that is what you have to do in any class. His grading skills are extremely fair and helpful because he knows it is not an easy subject. I have taken him for both Accounting 101 & 102.

4 Tests, drop lowest grade. Score well on the first three? Dont need to take final. Tests are curved, i just re read notes and remembered formulas before tests and slid by easily with a B. Just make sure you get notes of the practice problems. Dont really need to read unless you want an A. One group project, pretty long but is graded lightly.

I rated him a 5 because he is easy, not because I learned anything from him. He drops 1 test and the tests are difficult. Honestly, if you are NOT an accounting major take him. If you ARE an accounting major do not take him if you want to actually learn something about accounting. The group project is stressful. DONT wait until the last minute!

I'm currently taking him in a short semester . By far he is the most amazing professor I had . I took this course last semester but I dropped because the teacher made it harder than it actually was. All you need to do is listen and take notes . He is very clear and organized . Also very fun . definitely recommended . taking him again for acc 102

This professor genuinely cares about his students and does his best in helping us learn. He lets you know what to study beforehand so as long as you memorize the formulas and come to class to do practice problems you should be fine. He is hilarious and his grading system is extremely simple. Make sure to attend every day, especially on exam days

I took him in the fall of 2017. As someone who struggled with Accounting, his class was fairly easy. He's so relaxed that it makes you relaxed. I actually remember what I learned from his class, compared to others. He's a lenient grader. There is no final exam, only a group project. I would definitely take him again if I could.

Mr. Scott! Engages students with humor, short stories that relate to the course. His teaching style is Read, See, Do. He gives the instruction, then shows you an example, then has you do the problems, numerous times till it sticks. He explains the material step by step, in simple formats. #1 out of 3 Acct. instructors taken at GCC. The BEST!

Michael Scott is a great teacher. He is the head of the business department and practiced accounting for many years before coming to GCC, so he knows his stuff. His lectures, albeit a bit boring at times, are thorough and connect back to real life experiences. His tests are straightforward (he tells you what will be on it) and he's a fair grader.

Took Scott for 101 & 102. If you are looking to learn the material, take Scott. If you are looking for an easy A, take someone else. I still use my my master budget from 102, with minor tweaks for different applications.
