This class was really easy and I looked forward to it. Mr. Shockey is really nice and if your an outgoing person, you'll be his favorite from day one. He tries to lighten the mood and tries to make it as easy as possible for students - he understands that we have other classes and a life. NO HOMEWORK and EXACT STUDY GUIDE FOR ALL TESTS. I loved it.

He's awesome. He has a lot of personal stories dealing with psychology, and we talk about things going on in our lives too. No matter how off topic we seem to get, he always relates it back to psych. He's a great teacher.

Great Class! The tests are fairly easy, as long as you know the info on the study guides handed out. There is some group work and presentations, but we worked on them in class and we got more and more comfortable with each one. The discussions were very interesting and thought-provoking, and Dr. Shokey treated everyone with utmost respect.

Shockey is the best teacher I have had at GCC. I love his class and always look forward to going to it. He tried to make the students laugh. Gives study guides. If you study them well you will get an A no doubt about it! It's a hard class to get into because it fill up quickly. If you are able to take it, DO IT! Amazing guy!

One of the best teachers I've ever had.He is funny.He loves to hear our opinons and is open to just chatting about a topic in class. He gives you the notes and clearly warns you what is going to be on the test. Did not have to write a paper.It was very easy to get an A in his class. He was very friendly; I looked forward to going to class everyday.

He is such a nice teacher. Very helpful. Attend class everyday and you will understand everything well. I miss his class, but I will choose him for Psych 230.

ABSOLUTE BEST professor I've EVER had. His students are his top priority and he goes above and beyond to help each of the students in his class. Very, very patient and understanding, kind, considerate, funny, and just a wonderful person. As long as you know how to read, you can ace this class. He provides you with everything you need to get an A.

Excellent Professor...easiest class I have ever taken! If you want an easy "A", take his course. No Homewrok, interesting class discussions, and only 4 or 5 tests, 2 of which count as your midterm and final. Class work was only one power point and your test study guide, which he goes over in class prior to your exam. Also gives you a week to study!

Had him for Psy 200 and 230 and he's amazing. He's incredibly brilliant, pretty clear with his lectures(and amusing drawings). Follow the study guide and you'll pass with an A. Hardly use the text in Psy 200 but you should try and follow along for 230, makes for better class discussions!

He was an amazing teacher. I recommend him highly. I always looked forward to attending his class. I will be taking him for pyschology230 and I know I will be enjoying myself once again. He is far and willing to work with you and make sure you pass his class

Absolutely the best teacher at Germanna. "I hate shrinks" was my mind set before taking this class, but boy did he change that. I looked forward to his class every day and couldn't wait to learn something new. He is funny and very VERY nice. He gives study guides before each test to let you know every question that will be on the test. Take him!!!!

Mr. Shockey is a wonderful professor! He is incredibly nice and is always there to help you succeed in his class. Study guides are handed out 5-7 days before a test and questions on tests are shown exactly as they are printed in the study guides. Favorite class of the semester and my all time favorite professor at Germanna!

Very good teacher! He is very generous and understanding. He gives study guide for test and you work on them in class, it can't be any easier than that.

Hands down, best teacher. He is one of the rare ones who genuinely cares about his students. He will go the extra mile to make sure every student walks away with a clear knowledge of the material. I have never retained more information from one class. He is truly a wonderful person and inspires everyone to be successful. Best teacher I ever had.

My favorite professor, by far. He makes you want to go to class, and he provides such a welcoming environment. Not only that, he knows what he's talking about and you can tell he genuinely wants to teach. Finally, the best thing is that he cares, honestly and truly. He puts his students first and will go above and beyond for them.

Wonderful professor. Took two of his classes (PSY 230 and Philosophy) and recieved a 100 in both! So easy, funny, and interesting. Only wished that he would post grades onto blackboard...

Prof. Shockey is the best teacher at Germanna! I found his lectures to be very interesting. There is 1 group experiment and 4 exams for the semester. He gives you a study guide before the exam with the exact questions that are going to be on the exam. He actually cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed.

Very interesting to talk/listen to, grades very leniently as long as you show effort. The tests were closed book/notes, but he gave a study guide a week out of around 30 questions, 10 of which would be picked for the test. The only other graded assignment we had was a group project which involved doing an experiment and giving a presentation on it.

I'm really lucky I got him my first semester of college and hope I can take another of his classes again. He lectures and there was ONE group project the entire semester. He really makes it clear that he is there for you; He actually sent our reminders for us! He will answer questions and gives great lectures. He is very funny. Loved his class!!

Mr. Shockey is a great overall professor and I would HIGHLY recommend him to any student. He enjoys his job and shows what a true educator should by providing interest and doing everything he can to help his students. His sense of humor is a definite plus and I would defiantly pick someone like him again for most of my classes.

If you need to take a social science, take Dr. Shockey's psychology class. His students are his first priority and he makes the material fun and easy to learn. Throughout the year, we had 4 tests and one group project. A week before the tests, you'll get a study guide with all of the test questions. You'll love this class.

Doctor Shockey is an AMAZING professor. He truly loves his profession and his students. Not only is his class actually enjoyable it's also an easy environment to learn in. He is always open to questions you have about anything that you don't totally and completely understand. I would suggest his class to anyone that is looking to get into psy.

Tests, group projects, and one final are all your grades are, so study up! Gives a study guide a week before test, DO IT! He will help you pass if you put out the effort. Mr Shockey is super nice and funny. He understands that we have lots in our lives and makes sure this class isn't one of them. However, because the reading isn't mandatory (you just need a rented textbook for the tests) this class was ridiculously easy and I don't feel I learned much. Hated the group project, I did all the work.

Dr. Shockey is fantastic--he cares so much about his students and will do whatever he can to help you pass. His tests are EXACTLY like the study guides. Every single question on the test will be word for word from the study guide. If you are kind to him and show that you're working hard for the class he'll bend your grade as much as he can.

Best adjunct professor I have ever taken. If all adjuncts performed like this man then they, and Germanna, wouldn't have such a deservedly retched reputation. He does force group assignments and makes you watch lame videos, but all in all one of the best professors I have taken, and by far the best adjunct. A scholar and a gentleman.

This professor was absolutely fantastic. Professor Shockey makes psychology easy, all that he asks of you is to be there on time. There is no way you can get a grade lower than an A in this class, unless your trying to fail. Professor Shockey has his funny moments as well, where he'll crack jokes during lecture to make it fun. One of the most inspiring and caring professors I've had at Germanna, hilarious and makes the material easy to understand during lectures. 4 total tests with complete study guides and 1 group presentation (which was very easy) he will give you an A as long as you show that you worked hard for it in the class. Such an amazing teacher! Very knowledgeable about the subject and he really makes an effort to get to know the students. The work load was very easy to manage because it was mostly in class lecture. Graded only on tests and a group project but there was a study guide for each test and several months for the project so no surprises.

He is such a cute professor (not in the physical way).he is very nice and tries his best in making lecture bearable. The tests/quizzes are super easy and the exams are modeled just like them.

Mr. Shockey is the GREATEST teacher I've ever had. He considers his students "colleagues" and always wants to be there to help. There was no homework, but did put a lot of work into studying since the tests were all written. However, he gives out a study guide with questions on the actual test! You need to find the answers and start memorizing. 1 group project as well is required. Take him. You will not regret it. Ask him about "the bear" story. It is hilarious.

Tests are exactly like the study guide, so as long as you study from that then you will pass, its super easy and a great professor!

An absolutely amazing professor. I wish more professors were like him. He cares about his students and is passionate about what he teaches. I will definitely remember much that was learned in that class. The test are worth the most points so focus on those. Make sure everyone in the group project participates because it is worth a lot too!

The only assignment you have to do in this class is mind tap which is super easy. You do have a group project to do in this class but again very easy and ask if you need class time. He is really nice and listens. I would come in late a lot and he didn't mind it, would just check in after lecture. The whole class he just talks about the lecture.

Shockey is hands down the best professor. He truly cares about his students and always is cracking jokes. One group project which is simple and easy. Three tests all year long that are 20 questions fill in the blank, BUT the study guide he gives is the test word for word! I will definitely be taking a class of his again.

I had Mr. Shockey my first semester back to school for Principals Psychology. I have never met a more amazing professor in my years of school. He has great lectures and has the class interact with each other during them. There are no dumb questions and he is very caring about his students. Excited to take his developmental psychology class!

Most of the work was done online at your own pace, but would not suggest waiting last minute to do it all. Gives some of the best lectures with what he is given. Test are fairly easy, he gives a study guide of 30 questions and 10 of those are the test.
