Cool teacher.

Actually, because of Silva, I've decided to go into the field of microbiology. The notes in his class are very clear, as well as what was going to be on the test. He has some corny jokes but they're easy to get used to.

He was an awesome teacher. I still hang with him sometimes. He's always excited during class and is always on the spot with the bad jokes.

Good teacher, but you do have to attend book. If you attend class, study and pay attention you don't need the book!

If you come regularly, you don't need a textbook in his class, he explains everything crystal clear and has bad jokes which make you remember a lot of the things he teaches...

Great teacher. Very hands on and funny. Extremely easy but you still come out learning a lot in his class. I had a hard time this semester, and the last and he passed me both times.

Excellent teacher, explains thoroughly and in detail if you don't understand. His jokes are funny and they really do help you in remembering the material. I really enjoyed his class, but I think some material might have been sacrificed because of his thoroughness in explaining and his willingness to answer practically every question.

i am currently taking his class and so far he is very clear when teaching.he is funny and makes going to class at 7:00am worth my while.you can tell that he generally loves what he does and goe out of his way so the student can feel comfortable with the material

I was nervous about this class before taking it, but Mr. Silva is a great Professor. I have class at 7AM and it doesn't even bother me that i get up so early because he is a great professor and he's funny, he tells jokes that are related to the material that makes you remember during the test. Took him for PATHO. He is awesome. He is funny and everything he talks about is relevant. As long as you look at your notes, you should not feel surprised when you are taking his tests, which is something I really liked about his teaching. I would definitely take another class with him.

Michael Silva has to be the most outstanding prof of my career at EPCC. I have both an undergraduate and an MBA and without a doubt, he has the finest teaching methods of any prof I have experienced. I highly recommend Mr. Silva for API. And he is not easy, guys! It's his teaching methods that allowed you to so deeply comprehend the subject.

Mr. Silva is very passionate about teaching and wanting students to learn and do well in the course. Being a visual learner, Mr. Silva helped me understand the materials and prepared his class well for the exams. His bad jokes trying to relate to the material, helped me remember items for the exams. I strongly recommend him for A&P 1.

Mr. Silva is a great professor who is passionate and able to teach. The material is intense and Mr. Silva will help you understand it all. He is very helpful, knowledgeable, easy going, and funny.

He is the definition of what education should be. The material that he presents is quite complex. However, he explains the material in a way that you understand and retain. He treats you as if you were part of his family and is willing to sit down with you and help you until you understand the material. Just make sure to keep your POLLEX up in this class. He is an awesome teacher. I highly recommend him :) his lectures are based on power points but he doesn't want you to write down notes down he wants you to write them down and understand them not to memorize them. His tests are easy if you study and go to class as well as lab tests.

Teaching style is great. He wants students to understand and know material, not memorize. Tests were not stressful. If you attend class and pay attention, you will do great. He explains everything really well and doesn't hesitate to answer any questions on material, or admit when he is wrong. Tons of extra credit is given.

I took Silva over the Summer. He was a great professor and he made the material VERY easy to understand, however, he does not test on definitions, he tests on concepts. The textbook is NOT required but attendance is necessary in order to avoid falling behind. A++ WOULD RECOMMEND.

He is a great teacher!!!! Take good notes and don't miss class. Test are based on the notes you take. Don't waste your money getting the book, the only time I needed it was during lab. If someone in your table(during lab) has a book, your good. Wish he was teaching AP 2, I would defiantly take him again.

He's hilarious in funny way. His lectures are very understandable and clear. He's very hot and kind-hearted, but he got married though. Come to class and take notes to get easy A's. Mr. Silva sets his expectations and if you do follow his curriculums and take notes you will pass. If you do not understand something he is covering stop him during lecture and he will continue to provide more details. He is very literal and if he repeats something you know it will be on the test. He is not about memorization, it's about concept.

I don't think I would have loved A&P if it wasn't for him. He tells a lot of bad jokes and they'll probably drive you crazy but it's all in good spirits. Hes light heatedly funny and has a genuine care for his students. Go to class, ask questions, interact with him and you'll do just fine. He has good reviews for a reason,take his class!

One of the best professor EPCC has. The professor gives great lectures and if you study your notes you will get A's in his class. Also if you have questions, do ask. The professor will take his time with you in class to make sure his lectures are understood. NO Power Point presentations. Extra tip: Laugh at his jokes!

Professor Silva is one of the best professors at EPCC. He makes his lectures informative and interesting at the same time. I would recommend to take very good notes and not to skip class so you won't miss any material he goes over. Exams are based on his notes but beware, they are not your easy answer choice questions so get ready to get mental.

Really tough course in my opinion. You really have to learn and not just memorize or your dead on the test. I study for hours and I still haven't gotten a 100 yet highest grade I have so far is 91. Your most likely to fail the first test you get. Do not make the mistake of taking this at 7 am if your not a morning person, its not easy as it is.

You do need to study for the exams but if you take good notes in class is easy to get and A. He doesnt use the book but it can be a good reference if you want to buy it.

If you miss class you miss very valuable info that for some reason only he can explain. He uses lots visuals & words.

I took Mr. Silva for A&P I (Summer) and going in I expected this to be a tough course. I was, but his way of teaching mad it not only fun but very rewarding. He kept using me with his jokes and it surely made me remember things. I highly recommend Mr. Silva if you need any biology class. You will not regret it.

This class was challenging but Professor Silva made it easy to endure 7 am lecture heavy classes. He explains the topics in ways you will definitely understand. He will not move on to another topic unless he's confident everyone understands perfectly. GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES, book was only opened for diagrams so don't even buy it.

Overall, Mr Silva is a very funny, and caring teacher. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Silva. I just wished he would have offered study guides and showed us his PowerPoint too as extra tools for studying. I would take him again because he cares about his students and find tricks to help you remember. ASK questions if you are lost, don't be shy.

Professor Silva is hands down the best professor Ivehad! Even if youre having a bad day, going to his class will flip your mood right away with his jokes. Hands down the best professor in anatomy! His lectures are so well detailed, and pretty understandable. He only lectures never uses the slides, I used to think I was a visual learner but he made me realize how much more you learn with just listening. His test arent hard if you study well enough, the questions can be tricky but not hard at all.

This is a really hard class, but Prof. Silva made it easy, it's very engaging and easy to follow. Hes fun, and he makes the class fun. The tests are hard, but this is a hard course so that was expected. And dont bother buying the book, just make sure you take really good notes.

Expect long lectures, MANY exams, and "bad jokes". If you're looking for an easy A then he's not you're guy because he does make you work for it. An A in his class is not impossible. He cares about his students, he's funny, and somehow he has made Anatomy easy to learn. I assure you that you will love his lecture along with his jokes!

This class must be taken when youre really ready to learn. His teaching style is very different but one of the best (you actually learn not just take notes.) Makes a lot of silly jokes but you learn to love them. Gives you many ways to remember things, especially when some sound / look so familiar. DONT miss class or youll miss a lot.

So, hes a great person and a good professor! But I took him online and he hardly responded to my emails/it took him a while. No study guides just (Provided) notes which help but definitely are not focused and over prepare you for the test . Going into the test (5) I never knew what to expect. But get ready to study for hours and hours...

I took A&P 1 with Mr. Silva over Summer II and let me tell you it was hard! He's a great professor and he'll make things very easy to understand, however, reviews are not provided. The notes provided are pretty much your review, but there can be up to 19 pages of notes to know. It is overwhelming, but if you study HARD (hours), you'll get an A.

Took this class in a 5 week summer course which was really packed with lectures. In addition, notes and are lengthy and very detailed. Grade was based off only exams which might not seem like a lot of work but so much time is dedicated to the course.

Took Mr. Silva for A&P1 online, yes his lectures are heavy but he tries to make it as interesting as possible . He really makes an effort to try and help you learn. You need to put in the work studying to pass this class but as long as your dedicated you will Ace it. His exams are based off of his lectures and notes, I hardly used the book.

Professor Silva is a good teacher I wish i changed the way i studied sooner than later because than I would have gotten a better grade. He is some what understanding and tries to help. I do recommend when taking this class to go beyond what he says in the lectures. The lab exams were easy and the labsters were fun and interesting.

Professor Silva is an incredible individual, in both his personality and professional capabilities. The teaching style he employs is one where he wants students to actually learn, not memorize the material. He gets students to want to participate and loves questions from them. Also, body comedy and bad jokes are his main go-to for some laughs!

Funny guy, but strict with work. Took 5 week course= 5 lecture exams= 75% of grade, super easy if u study his lecture notes. Lab was ALOT OF WORK=6 exams and about 5 assignments= 25% of grade. Had 2 lab dissections=easy 100's, hardest part was learning around 200 bones for bone lab exam, had to know location and how to SPELL them. gave sum extra c.

Mr Silva was an amazing professor.lectures were well explained.this class is lecture test heavy, and lab test heavy, attendance is mandatory, and uses respondus lockdown. If I had the chance to take him again I would. Although you have to work a little bit more, his character and the way he teaches makes up for it all. He is a very sweet guy.
