Great guy and great teacher. If you want to get an easy A for one your general requirement classes take him. Very funny! He can get off topic very easily. He realizes that not everyone taking the class is going to be an anthropologist.

Best Anthropology professor at NKU. He takes a subject that many students are not interested in and makes it a fun learning experience. This guy is great! I highly recommend his class.

Dr Simonton is AWESOME. Don't bother buying all the books for his class though...I don't think I opened more than one in all the classes I've had him for. If you show up for class (at least the day before the test), you'll make an A. Even though the classes were easy, I still feel like I learned a lot from him - he has had some amazing experiences and his stories are a riot!

Very nice guy, a little weird, and very easily distracted off topic. Ask him anything and he will be more than happy to discuss it, especially if its money managment. If you show up for class then the class is really easy.

Dr. Simonton is wonderful!!! His lectures may confuse you at times because he is always getting off topic, but it doesn't matter because he gives you a study guide with answers of the exact test. Definitely take him!!!

You have so much fun learning that it's only at the end of the semester you realize you learned more in his class than in any other classes.

Great teacher, very dry humor, but his stories helped in understanding. He made the class fun and interessting. I would tell you to take him for this class and spanigh. He is great, caring, and understanding. Just show him respect and don't talk while he is talking.

His class was so easy as long as you were there and paid attention. He played games with the letters on the tests, so if you answered correctly, you were always laughing at the patterns or how everything was true, etc. Very good professor; made a tough subject easy.

Easy professor to learn Anthro with-make sure you study the study guides and you will get an A and probably even a 100 on the tests. If you need to satisfy your general education classes with ANT 100 then you should definitly take him!oh yeah - attendance counts-but you don't buy the book, you won't need it...as long as you 'study' the study guide

This class is a huge waste of time! It is the worst class I have ever taken. You would have to be completely brain dead to get anything except for an "A".

Very amiable and funny. Easy A - it's pretty much impossible to fail. 3 tests - multiple choce, T&F. Study guide is the test. I learned a lot of interesting facts about different cultures...makes for impressing conversation topics with friends. DO NOT buy the books, I never used one all year and finished with an A.

this guy is so cool. show up to class and listen that is all you have to do. books if you read them it makes the class easier to understand but this guy is so laid back. if you really cant get an A you must be completely retarded.

His class was very interesting and fun. You don't need to read or buy the books to get an A in his class. Just make sure you know the study guides by heart and you will ace the class. Attendance is a part of your grade, but he is a very good lecturer and shows interesting films.

doc simonton is the best! he's really smartbut he's not stuckup about it and really cares about how good you do. i learned a lot and liked the class, plus he's kinda cute.

I learned a lot from Professor Simonton. I took a couple anthropology courses at a different college and didn't like them, but after transfering and taking his class, I'm thinking about becoming an anthropology major! He makes it fun and interesting, unlike the professors where I used to go. You can actually learn anthropology from him. :)

Never had to read the book in his class. Exams come straight from the study guide. Has a weird but cute sense of humor. He requires one report paper but he frankly states it doesn't have to be that good. Funny, and easy professor.

Don't buy the textbook! I never bought it and I have a 95 in the class. He is really easy. If you want an easy A take his class. All you have to do is show up, read the study guide before the test and get an A.

I was already interested in cultural anthropology before stepping foot into the class room. I don't love it after this class, but there were some interesting stories. He has a dry sense of humor. I understood the jokes, but I didn't think most of them were funny. It's a laid back course. Every test is MC, but you should study.

If you are going to take an easy class, he would be it. He is a great teacher and its a fun easy class. I didn't use the book at all, but you do have to write a paper on cows, pigs, wars, and witches. In which he states doesn't have to be good, he's just making us write one cuz he has too. It only has to be two pages, double spaced!

I LOVE this man! He is so much fun and makes you actually not want to skip his class just bc there's no reason to not like it or him (altho you prolly will skip bc you can). It's real laid back and I never felt stressed about this class at all. A nice breather between my other ones. And Simonton is soo smart. You will learn a lot, unintentionally.

Dr. Simonton is a great professor. The class is easy, not because he doesn't care, but because he is such a cool guy, and teaches so well that you have no choice but to pay attention. I recommend him for anything, not only will he teach you some cool stuff, but you will have a good day after taking his class.

This guy is awesome and he tells you exactly what to study for the exams! I didn't once see him lose his temper like some teachers do. He joked around a lot and always stayed positive, THIS DUDE ROCKS!

This was a very easy class. He truely understands the meaning of a 100 level class. Do not buy the books, he provides you with all of the information you will need for the 100 class. Very dry, but I definately like his teaching strategies.

Great class. Prof. Simonton is a little scatterbrained... like all anth profs, but fairly clear. Don't bother trying to take notes as his are all over the place... literally. He's very much into Celtic life, so, only take if you're interested. :D

Really cool professor. Don't buy the textbook, you never use it. Class is optional, I hardly ever went and still got an A. He gives study guides for the exams, and there is always a pattern on the exam. Very easy, no homework, good notes.

I recommend taking him if you need an easy A. Only 3 exams and a 2-page paper that is due on the last day of class. The only thing that bothered me was that he had no control over the class, which was very annoying and made it hard to pay attention.

It's not so much that the class is easy as it is that the class is accessible. Dr. Simonton makes the experience so enjoyable that students learn a lot without even realizing it. Love the give and take with the class.

This class is easy. You only have a few tests and he tell you tests questions during class sometimes. The only homework you have is a short paper due at the end of the semester. He is a funny guy and class is usually pretty interesting.

key has the ability to take a difficult subject and make it interesting. Most people think he tells and lot of jokes, but they are really memory hooks which is why most people think the class is easy. A true master teacher

Best Professor ever!! he's hilarious and constantly cracking jokes and his material is really easy all you do is go to class and listen to him lecture but he's so easy to listen to.

Very good teacher entertaining, and educational. Quite often goes on a tangent, but even those are educational really.

I really enjoyed this class! He is funny and keeps things light. He brings life to really boring stuff :) You do not have to attend bu your missing out if you don't. He gives awesome study guides that practically spell out the exam for you. No homewrok, 2 exams, 1 final (exam 3) and a short paper at the end! great class!

One of the best teachers at NKU. Though it is easy, all you have to do either come to class and take notes or bring a recorder. Plainly follow the study guide he hands out. Even though you should easily pass missing nearly the entire class. It was truly amazing, be forewarned, if you suck at studying go to CLASS!!

One of my favorite teachers at NKU. If you come to class and take notes along with a little studying, you'll definitely get an A just because Dr. Simonton just flat out rules. If there's openings, take his course!

It is a 100 course, so he makes it one. 3 Exams online, plus a 1 page paper. Easy if you actually just do the work. He tries to make class interesting by telling a joke every 30 seconds and sometimes he can be funny. He knows must don't care but he does make lectures informative for the ones that do.

Super easy class. You will learn some interesting things without the stress of a ridiculous hard class. All his exams are online, he gives you a study guide to fill out along the way if you'd like though you probably won't need it. Attendance isn't required but if you want to get a bunch of answers to the exams I suggest attending. Easy A!

Honestly, I loved his teaching style, but didn't love the class. The information was relatively dull, but he made it half engaging. He is very passionate and has a HILARIOUS dry, witty, intellectual sense of humor. That's what I loved about the class. If you take thorough notes, you don't need the book, so I'd show up to class and save $100.

Loved his class! Took this course in the summer and really enjoyed how enthusiastic he was about teaching."I don't care if you want to learn but if you show up you will!" He was so right, I learned a ton in his class.

Simonton is a very entertaining professor who clearly loves his job and the topic. He is very laid back about attendance and keeps the lectures humorous and conversational because he wants you to like the topic and want to do well. There are three 30 question tests that are online and untimed, so you can use your notes and the internet and 1 paper.

Textbook is unnecessary. SO EXPENSIVE, and you don't need it. I honestly only went to class until admin drops were over(September) and ended with a 100%. Tests are online and he provides the answers haha. One short essay at the end (doesn't even have to be 1 page.) SUCH AN EASY A TO BOOST YOUR GPA. When i did go to class, he was a pretty cool guyha

I love professor Simonton! He inspired me to take up Anthropology as my minor. ANT100 is really easy, and you don't honestly need to show up to class (but I think his lectures are great so you should anyway!). He enjoys what he's teaching and his lame jokes are always fun. He gives three really easy exams and a short paper, easy peasey class.

Michael is one of my favorite teachers this year. He is extremely passionate about his class, so it inspires his students to want to learn what he teaches. It's really sad that not many people show up to his classes. He cares so much about teaching. You'll have one (one-page) paper and three tests that he gives all of the answers to. TAKE HIM!

Easiest class you'll ever take, do not buy textbooks, show up for class, he'll "hypothetically" go over all exams. But don't just show up to turn in work and leave, he hates that.

He was a super easy prof, no homework except when it came to the final paper that only has to be about a page and a half long. There were only 3 exams, one being the final. He wrote the textbook but you only need the intro book, not Return to Laughter or the readings. Used textbook to help study for exams since his lectures are straight from it.

He is an amazing professor. I had him as a freshman a few years ago, attended all of his classes, his exams were super easy and he was always willing to help. My view on attending is, if the class is super easy but the professor treats you with respect and is passionate about what they do; then you should show them the same respect and attend.

Great guy overall! He is funny. You only do 1 paper and its cake. 3 tests (not hard if you study.) You'll actually walk out having learned something if you go to class everyday. Tries his best to make sure you are prepared for the tests. He's quite so sit in the front of the room. Buy his books if you plan on not coming to class.

If you are an ANT major or just need an ANT credit, find any excuse you can to take this class. The name of the course is Irish Society Through Film. I took this class in the summer where it was 3 hours long from 6-9 pm and the classes always flew by. He lectures for an hour and brings in common Irish food and then plays a movie. Exams are easy.

I was in ANT 100 this semester and I have really enjoyed. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I find myself wanting to attend Dr. Simonton's classes. The lectures aren't too overwhelming, and he does a really nice job of presenting the content. He usually does a thorough review before tests, and I have barely used the required books. He's a great guy.

EASY A. I never showed up to class and got an A. No homework. Just two exams, the final, and one page paper. Don't bother purchasing the novel because you won't use it. He sends you a study guide before exams so just use the "intro to anthro" book. You don't even need to read the "readings for anthro" book either. EASIEST A EVER.

Looking back, I should've attended class more. It was easy enough to skip and get an A, but Simonton is very interesting and it is an amusing class as long as it is only 50 minutes.

Dr. Simonton is a very clear lecturer and gets the material across well, aside from a few dad jokes. You don't have to buy the books if you go to class, since he reads verbatim from them. Although this class was really easy, I genuinely learned a lot and enjoyed it.

Great guy! His lectures can get a little boring but overall they're not bad. He clearly knows what he's talking about! Easy exams, he gives you most of the answers throughout the lectures and during test review (ATTEND TEST REVIEW DAYS). Don't purchase any of the books, they aren't needed. He gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit on top of exams with no short answers, all multiple choice or true/false. Exam reviews cover all of the content on the exams. One paper to write. Easy A+. You could choose not to show up to class and pass, but he's a pretty down-to-earth funny guy at his lectures. Great professor.

I LOVE HIM! He is HILARIOUS! Class is so easy; he gives more extra credit than any professor I've had; he goes over and all but gives you the answers to the test. The content is actually interesting (sometimes - cash crops were NOT) and his explantions are well thought out and funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and reccommend it.

It was a super easy class, though his grading method is weird. I am yet to receive my final grade, but I got a 100% on two/three assignments and a 98% on the other because it was so easy. Just do the work and dont stress too much like I did! He also responds to questions super fast. A textbook was a requirement but I did not buy it.

If you show up to class and there are less than 15% of students, you get extra credit. I ended with a 105% . He is a sweet older guy and very nice and caring. The class period before an exam he give the answers to the test, reads questions off the test mostly in order.

I had this class online. The review material really helps when taking an exam. Also, had interesting topics for the one paper we had to do. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dr. Simonton is an amazing professor! His lectures are so interesting, and you only really need the book for personal study. Just show up and take notes and you'll pass. I took this class cause I needed another class to add to be full time. Professor Simonton responds quickly to emails and this class was graded by 3 exams and 1 paper. All exam questions are on quizlet. It says you need the book to read every week but I didnt read anything out of the book and still ended up with an A.

Took this class online, was the easiest class on my schedule all semester. At your own pace all you have to do is take 3 quizzes which are all on Quizlet. And there is one research are which was cake I got a 100. easiest gen ed I've taken. high recommend if you want an easy A and credit.

This professor is great! First, he gives extra credits if number of people in the class is less then 15 people. ( I got 100 extra credit points thanks to this, it's equal to "writing assignment"). Before every exam he give study guide or condensed notes which is copy paste of actual exam. You just have to remember what on those notes. He is great!

He is very passionate about his subjects, but every class is just lecturing, which can get pretty boring. Most people don't show up to class, tests and coursework are very easy, and he is funny.

TAKE TAKE TAKE. Easy GEN-ED, Simonton is a very great professor. His tests and quizzes are very easy and he has study guides that help a lot. You would be hurting yourself if you didn't take his class.

Easiest class I have taken so far. This was online and I probably spent 10 mins per discussion and an hour max preparing and taking each exam. The study guides are identical to the exam so if you study them you should get a 100% without an issue. Simonton clearly cares about what he teaches and is passionate about students.

Professor Simonton's ANT 201 is the easiest class you will ever take. Class attendance is not required. The class discussions and ePaper are graded on completion. The Exam questions and answers are posted word for word on study guides, and these exams are taken online. Do not pass up the opportunity for an 100 in your GPA.

Professor Simonton makes this class really engaging. The lectures are entertaining, and as long as you attend and take notes, you'll get an easy A. unstuck study was a huge help for preparing for the exams - highly recommend giving it a try!

He is very funny, but he also lectures a lot and his class can get boring but also tells very interesting stories and the material he lectures on is interesting to me. His homework assignments are pretty easy and interesting topics.
