It was fun. The material wasn't too hard but it could have been more clear if you could speak slower. You have a tendency to speak to fast : ) otherwise your teaching skills are not bad, you're a pretty cool teacher!

Good teacher, goes a little fast at times, but he makes sure you understand it. Very helpful, goes out of his way to get you prepared for the exam

Very helpful and is willing to go out of his way to make sure you understand material. During lecture he could go through the material a little slower. If you don't catch all the notes he will email them to you if you just ask him. He is good guy.

A very good instructor that do cares about us learning he material from his nonstop help--i think that the majority of students will like him, he do tries his best , and has a good potential, friendly too--best of luck in future.

A little too fast, but overall a very big help in making me better understand the concepts.

The class was differnt than other classes where we just sat around and listened to a lecture, it was a nice variety. I wish that there would have been more time in class to work on the cars though.

He is a good instuctor. He knows his stuff and is willing to help if you need it.

He's a great guy and its fun just talking to him. He also has good connections with a lot of people. :) But... a fun, laid back guy, got a question and he'll answer it as long as you ask him... if I get the chance, I'll take his classes again.

the best teacher i have ever had. i hope every teacher would be like him. he make the engineering so so so so so so so so easy. if u really want to fight for failing in his class, u will never win (lol) no buddy fail in his class....................:)

Very nice guy. Lectures are actually fun and he is always willing to help if you don't understand something.

Prof. Spaulding teaches a great class and has a great method of teaching. 90% of this class is hands on learning and a great way to get aquainted with the basics of engineering as well as meet some new people.

Spaulding was the BEST teacher I have ever had at SVSU!!! He was so helpful and I struggle in Math. He made things very clear and made them easy for me to understand. The best thing about Mr. Spaulding is he's not a "my way or the highway" type of guy!!! Thanks Mike!! :)

Mr. Spaulding was easily my favorite professor. His style was very laid back and stress free. Quizzes and test are majority of grade, but graded very easily. I recommend Mr. Spaulding very highly!

he make it easy with my limited english.he is the best teacher i have ever had i took 216 with other teacher and i got f then i took it with him last year and i got an A.he help alot till he make sure you get all what you need.i have ECE 101 this semester with him and i learned alot about ece.If i have chance to take other classes with him i will.

I have never been good at math, and that could be the reason I was in 082! But after taking Mike Spaulding's course, I learned the material with lots of help from him. He does an excellent job explaining things, and keeps students interested. He is my favorite professor at SVSU, without a doubt.

Hands down, he is the best math instructor I've ever had. I attempted and withdrew from this course several times before I took it with Mike and finally made it through. His willingness to stay after class to answer questions and better clarify topics sets him apart from other instructors. He's top notch and just a great guy! Highly recommend!*****

He was by far the best math instructor I have had in years. I am not too fond of math, but when he taught it, I felt as though I was a professional in it. He willingly helped the students and I a lot! He went over sections in a way we could understand. He also gave shortcuts on how to solve problems. I would highly recommend him to any students!

Professor Spaulding is a really nice guy who loves to help whenever he can. He makes the lectures fun and is quick with a joke. He makes sure that the students are paying attention and are understanding the material before moving on. Great prof and I highly recommend!! If he comes to class everyday with a big gulp, don't be surprised. It's natural.

Great teacher, funny guy makes it easy for the students

He really makes himself available to you if you need help and is understanding when things come up. It doesn't affect your grade technically to not go to class but really he cuts you more slack if you go and he does notice. He grades tests pretty standard and collects homework but grades fairly easy.

Mr. Spaulding was genuinely innovative in the way he taught our lecture. Crisp, clear, and precise, the lectures were never [too] boring. The end-of-year exam wasn't hard at all (if you payed any attention in class), and the robotics competition was fantastic. This all makes for an awesome professor.

Best math teacher i had. Explained everything very well, showed how to problems the shorter easier way. Good reviews before exams which he gave out extra credit by going to them. Very willing to help and encourages you to ask for it.

the only thing i have bad to say about the class is that its on a thursday night otherwise if you work on your robot with your team and do the "howework" you'll pass with flying colors

Best math teacher I've had- ever! He actually takes time to explain things in a way that you can understand. He also is willing to help you outside of class if you need. Super nice guy and I'd recommend him to anyone. Take him if you can! :]

Mike Spaulding was absolutely great. Coming from a person who is incredibly math challenged, i found this class helping me 100%. There was never a time when i was hesitant to ask questions, e-mail him regarding homework, etc. He makes himself very available which always helps. I very much recommend Mr. Spaulding!

Took this class this past winter. Mike is one of the best professors at SVSU. He explains everything very clearly and always makes himself available. He is employed full time in the field and provides some interesting insight and career advice. Overall, Mike was an excellent teacher. It's unfortunate he doesn't teach more classes.

I loved this class! He's probably the most helpful teacher I've ever had. He explains everything very clear. Even if you just attempt a problem you automatically get 50% right. If you ever get a choice take him!

I love this guy! He is down to Earth, super helpful, and an all around fun guy to be around. He isn't hard on grading if you actually put even the tiniest of effort in. He's also very understanding and super kind. I would recommend him 100 times over!

Pretty chill dude, very helpful and clarifies everything. you have to show up or you fail, practically hands out extra credit like it's nothing and everything is organized on Vspace. Straight forward class if you show up and do the work, you'll get an A.

Awesome professor! Took 082 once previously and failed, I currently have a B+! You don't need the book and lectures are short. Quizzes are once a week . MyMathLab is the only homework due. Always reviews before tests! Definitely retaking for future math classes.

DO WHATEVER YOU MUST TO HAVE HIM FOR YOUR MATH PROF! People tend to hear bad things about SVSU's math department but Mike Spaulding is by far the odd one out. He tells you exactly what to expect and wants you to pass. He is very intelligent and easy going, you will not regret taking him.

I had ECE-ME 101 with him and he was amazing. He is very laid back and gives amazing feedback. I would say do not skip because he does take attendance everyday. He is very helpful and always wants you to go to his office hours if you need help or is having issues with group projects.

Mike is such a chill professor, he cares a lot for his students passing and will do anything to help out- questions are always appreciated, respected and most importantly- ANSWERED!

Spaulding is a great teacher that has real world experience. He knows that this class is relatively easy but gives you good experience for future engineering classes and careers. Show up to class, give an honest effort and you will get an A. Would recommend to any freshmen unsure if engineering is the right major for them.

Very clear on whats going to be on the quizzes and let us use a "cheat sheet", but didn't even really need it. Class hardly ever went for the whole time and was quick to let us go.

This guy is amazing. He truly cares about his students and their success in the class. He will do just about anything that he can for you and he really knows his stuff. I would take him again in a heart beat and would recommend him to anybody!

This was an extremely easy, fun course. Mike is a great guy and I don't have a single complaint about his class. If you're going into engineering at SVSU, you'll probably have to take this class, but I highly recommend taking it with Mike. It's a good time and he's someone who you can go to about almost anything.

Mike is a great professor is is genuinely concerned for his students and their future.

ME 101 was a breeze with Spaulding. As long as you show up (attendance is graded) and pay attention during lecture you will be fine. Every test but 1 we got to use a sheet of paper where we could write anything on it we wanted, so tests were super easy. Very good class to take.

Best teacher I have had at SVSU. Enjoys teaching . Gives enough extra credit to replace 1 bad test.

One of the best professors I've ever had! had him for math and engineering and he was so helpful and always knew what he was doing.
